Subtitles ON script addition

I've built a p[roject which includes a main feature and around 20 trailers (also available section).. I've created numerous scripts that will allow individual selection or a Play All option. However, how do I set the subtitle stream in the scripts?
I have a Play All script:
1. mov GPRM 0,1
2. Jump Track 1
And individual Play scripts:
1 mov GPRM 0,0
2. Jump Track 1
Where do I add the optio to swicth subtitles on if they're present for each track?

No subtitles on MKV files with srt subs
try media player classic which has better support for MVK format media files

  • Input Manager &  Script Additions

Carolyn suggested I check add-ons. However I cannot locate an Input Manager folder anywhere. I can find one script additions folder at macHD/system/library. I'm experiencing the same problems as everyone else following a recent update. Emptying the Input Manager folder has worked for some. Where do I locate this and the Script Additions folders?

    HI Mark,
Open a Finder window. Select MacintoshHD in the Sidebar on the left. Then on the right open the Library folder then the Input Managers folder / Application Support folder and the ScriptingAdditions folder.
I'm experiencing the same problems as everyone else following a recent update
If Safari is crashing, If Safari has just crashed, press the Report button on the CrashReporter dialog box to view the crash information.
Now copy/paste the entire contents of the Crash Reporter window into your reply here. If the crash report dialog does not appear or the crash is hard to reproduce, crash logs can be retrieved from the ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter> folder.
    Understanding paths.
The ~ (Tilde) character represents your Home Folder. So if someone suggest you follow a path in your Home Folder / Library to find a particular file or folder, the path is:
    ~/Library
If it's the system folder the path is:
    /Library (no Tilde)

  • JavaScript for Automation Cannot Use Scripting Addition Commands

Attempting to recreate the example script for Messages called "Speak Events" with the new JavaScript for Automation in Yosemite, I found that it is impossible to use any scripting addition commands. For example:
    Messages = Application.currentApplication()
    Messages.includeStandardAdditions = true
    function messageReceived(m, e) {
         Messages.say(m)
I have removed all the other (annoyingly) necessary function overrides for brevity. Similar AppleScript code functions just fine, but this will result in a privilege error because the system wrongly categorizes it as being sent cross-application. Is there any estimate on a bug fix for this?
I've tried everything I can think of to work around this issue, even adding /usr/bin/osascript to the Security & Privacy Accessibility listing ("Allow the apps below to control your computer") which is not possible without editing the SQLite DB.
The documentation included in Script Editor is also woefully inadequate, lacking a readable listing of what exactly is being passed into the handler function. How can I translate an AppleScript line like "received theMessage from theBuddy for theChat with eventDescription" into a reasonable function signature for JavaScript?

It is a big SDK and to learn its features requires a lot of reading. But to start with I guess I should start with "Introduction to SDK".
Since you want to control Acrobat from another application you should consider this under "Interapplication communication". You will be using OLE/COM.

  • Unload scripting additions

Is there a way in Applescript to unload scripting additions?
I've recently discovered that various users have scripting additions that cause conflicts with the data collection script I am writing. I can't find anywhere online on how to unload or at least ignore scripting additions since my script does not use them.
    TIA!
    Andrew

for the Adobe Unit Types osax, you might want to read this solutions page.  It may give you some ideas for how to deal with the problem.  The osax is needed for anyone who applescripts Adobe products (basically it's a collection of custom types that adobe products use, without any actual commands).  The osax usually throws warnings rather than errors (because it's just a badly designed osax, I think - Go Adobe!), but I do know how annoying that is.  I cringe every time I open console.app and see the long list of complaints recorded there by applescript.
the QXPScriptingAdditions.osax problem (from what I see on the web) may be due to an outdated version of the osax, where it isn't compiled for intel machines.  Those osaxen would be at least partially non-functional anyway - they might function for setting up types, like the Adobe osax, but the commands wouldn't work - so you probably wouldn't run into any problems deleting them remotely, since it's unlikely anyone is scripting it.  check the version of the osax and the quark app to be sure, and maybe send particular users a note that their version of Quark is out of date and they ought to upgrade.  you could try upgrading the osax remotely, but some osaxen are app dependent, and might not play well with older versions of the software.

  • ACTIVATE SUBTITLES USING SCRIPT

Creating subtitle script in Apple's DVD Studio Pro.
To anyone who can help, this is what we are trying to accomplish in Apple's DVD Studio Pro.
We want to create a script that will allow us to turn on / activate subtitles using some type of memory register that will remember that the user turned on subtitles even after switching to different menus or tracks ( a global setting that can be changed via subtitles on or off buttons).
Please keep in mind that even if you set up a menu with buttons for turning on or off subtitles, you will eventually have a "target" set for that button and if that target is another button that plays a program. That targeted button will likely play a track and that button also must be assigned a value that will either play a subtitle stream on or off.
To further be more specific, what we are doing is setting up 2 identical sets of menus. One set of menus has all of its buttons set to turn on subtitle stream 1 when playing a video track. The second set is programmed not play any subtitle stream. You are directed to either set of menus from either a "subtitles on" or "subtitles off" button (by way of targeting to either set of menus from the subtitles on of off buttons).
The only problem is that when you get to the end of a track being played, there has to be an "end jump" at the end of that track. If that track was currently being played let's say from the subtitles on set of menus, where ( what set of menus - the "on" or "off" set ) do you end jump to? There is no one ideal answer. There has to be some type of memory register that a script could point to that would have recorded (remembers) if the user had turned the subtitles on or off.
For now we have the end jumps set to go back to the set of menus for subtitles off. The only problem is the user has to go back to the subtitles on button again to to turn them back on after viewing each track. (Kind of a pain in the neck).
What we are looking for is a script that will allow us to turn on / activate subtitles using some type of memory register that will act globally and allow us to also get rid of the dual sets of menus.
If anyone can help we sure would appreciate it.
    thanks,
    michael

    Hi Michael
To turn on or off your subtitles this can be done easily in the button inspector. Set your subtitle stream then set where you want that button to go. This will set your stream globally and will remain that way until you change it or eject the disc.
No reason to have dual menus..or am I missing something. It can be hard determining what someone is looking for without being there or seeing a flow chart of the title

  • When I Flip the Sign using script, additional data appears

I flipped the sign and it became a negative and that is correct. But it is adding some additional data to the flipped member. Both members are expenses. I am putting it in one bucket as a debit and another bucket as a credit, so that they will eliminate each other. Example below:
/*** Clear any data in accounts 79400 and 79415 ***/
    FIX("Jan":"Dec",&BudYr,"System","Dollars","Budget","Input","7100")
              CLEARDATA "79400";
              CLEARDATA "79415";
    ENDFIX
/*** This will debit by month 7100 to account "Interco. Alloc. In (79400)" ***/
    FIX("Jan",&BudYr,"System","Dollars","Budget","Input","7100","79400")
    AMC = "000"->"TOT_SGA_EXP" * "ALLOCATION_PCT" ->"AMC"->"BegBalance";
    ENDFIX
/***This will credit by month 7100 to account "Intra. G/A Admin Alloc. Out (79415)" ***/
    FIX("Jan",&BudYr,"System","Dollars","Budget","Input","7100","79415")
    AMC = ("000"->"TOT_SGA_EXP" * "ALLOCATION_PCT" ->"AMC"->"BegBalance") * -1;
    ENDFIX
    RESULTS:
Interco. Alloc. In (79400)     Admin (000)     Compliance (7100)     American Managed Care     January     97,578
Intra. G/A Admin Alloc. Out (79415)     Admin (000)     Compliance (7100)     American Managed Care     January     (146,367)
    DIFFERENCE (48,789)
    Any help would be appreciated.

Of course there is. This is the kind of calc script that only gets run once, so make usre you test it well before doing it on production and make a backup of production before doing it.
    It would be something like
Fix(time frame, accounts to be flipped, level zero other dimensions)
    actual = actual * -1;
    EndFix
    Cal dim dimensions
Note, I chose actual, but you could do it for any dimension that has a single or only a couple of members. What ever dimension you choose to do the calculation on, it can't be included in the fix statement

  • Converted (.SRT - Encore Subtitle text script) never Sync.

    Hi all,
I've searched for two days on the web but still no answer.
I'm making a BluRay Disc of a collection of TV Show episodes. I add these episodes as an .m4v file into Encore, which works great. These videos will be transcoded the the appropriat format at the end.
The only problem I encounter is the subtitles: I have an .srt file which runs perfectly sync with the .m4v video file (when I just play it in i.e. VLC, so no Adobe Encore is used)
But when I open the .srt file in a Subtile Editor (Subtitle Workshop, Subtitle Edit, Jubler (MAC) ) and hit ' Save As' Adobe Encore Text Script and import it in Adobe Encore, it starts of as a good sync in the first few seconds of the TV Show episode, but is way out of sync at the end of the episodes... (Sounds like me as an FPS problem?)
I've tried everything, from all different types of FPS output of the subtitle file, to all different project FPS settings.
My main project is 23,976FPS BluRay NTSC, my VIDEOFILE.m4v is 23,976FPS and my subtitles are 23,976FPS.
I really hope someone can help me out here.
    Thanks in advance.
    Sincerely,
    Christiaan.

Allright, maybe this way is not the fastest way to calculatie it, but it works every time for me:
First of all the crucial properties are that all my videofiles.m4v are 23,976 FPS and I've set my Encore BluRay project to BluRay NTSC 23,976 FPS.
I don't know if this works when different framerates are used...
    Anyhow:
I'll go through these steps with an example I used, which I'm sure of it works.
NOTE: WE DON'T DO ANYTHING WITH THE SUBTITLE.srt FILE TILL STEP 7
    1)
When you import the videofile.m4v into Adobe Encore, and look at the properties, you'll see it's FPS, but also the time in frames not milliseconds. Write down what time is displayed (in example: 00:53:18:19 which is hh:mm:ss:ff frames)
    2)
When you look up the duration of the videofile.m4v outside Adobe Encore it'll display in milliseconds
(I used MediaInfo on OS X, but VLC will also display time. In my case it displayed the videofile.m4v as 53min22sec, and yes this is the same videofile.m4v as the 00:53:18:19 displayed in STEP 1 )
    This 53min22sec = 00:53:22:000 (hh:mm:ss:mmm milliseconds)
What we want is the difference between the videofile.m4v in Encore, and outside Encore. This difference can be converted in percentages, which can be applied in Subtitle Edit to adjust the subtitles.
    3) "Calculating the displayed frames displayed in Encore to milliseconds"
So, in my case, I'm dealing with 23,976 FPS (note: FPS = Frames Per Second)
    Thus;
    1 second = 23,976 FPS
    1000 milliseconds = 23,976
In this example 00:53:18:19. We know 1000 milliseconds = 23,976 FPS, so we also know how many milliseconds 19 FPS is:
    (19*1000ms)/(23,976) = 792,.....ms.
    4) "Rewrite the Encore time in seconds"
We now know that 00:53:18:19 (in frames) = 00:53:18:792 (in milliseconds)
    5) "Calculate difference in seconds between time shown in Encore (00:53:18:792) and time shown outside Encore (00:53:22:000)"
    Difference in seconds = 00:53:22:000 - 00:53:18:792 = 3,208 seconds
Now we have to calculate what the percentage those 3,208 seconds is in respect the the whole videofile.m4v inside Encore.
    6) "Calculate percentage"
We know the total time of the videofile.m4v in Encore is 00:53:18:792 (We just calculated that). That total duration is 100%, but being able to calculate with that value, we have to convert those hours:minutes:seconds:milliseconds into just seconds.
    Easy: (53min*60seconds) + 18seconds + 0,792seconds = 3198,792 seconds
3198,792 = 100%, so we also know how many % 3,208 seconds is.
    (3,208*100%) / 3198,792 = 0,100273472%
We know have calculated the difference between the videofile.m4v inside Encore, and outside Encore.
The subtitle.srt is synchronized to the videofile.m4v outside Encore, and not inside Encore (duh, that's the whole problem)
But when we open Subtitle Edit, open the subtitle.srt and choose for the option to resync with percentage, you'll see it's normalle set to 100%. This value has to be adjusted with our corrected % we've calculated in STEP 6.
So, 100%-0,100273472% = 99,89971214%. Makes sure that it's set to apply on all subtitle lines, and hit ENTER.
    7)
Make sure the subtitle is set to 'Unicode' (can be done in Subtitle Edit, just in the main screen).
Then, hit "Save As" and save the subtitle not as .srt but as Adobe Encore NTSC.
You can now import this subtitle_Adobe.Encore.NTSC.txt in Adobe Encore, and it will run Perfectly sync.
    Good luck!
    P.S.
Sorry if I described it a little bit long, but this will make sure you understand it correctly. I hope.
Let me know if you have any questions.
    - Chris.

  • Idoc Script Addition

    Can anyone explain this....
    This code:
    <!--$intTest = 0.0002 + 0.0001-->
    <p>"0.0002" + "0.0001" evals to <!--$intTest--></p>
    Prints this on my page:
    <p>"0.0002" + "0.0001" evals to 3.0000000000000003E-4</p>
In the documentation, it clearly states you can use the plus sign to add floats together.
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/doc.1111/e10726/c02_application005.htm#i1049426
Although the scientific notation would evaluate to approximately 0.0003, why is there a 3 on the end of that decimal!?!? Is there anyway to convert that scientific notation back to "0.0003"?

    This question is hard.
The only similar post I could find is here: http://selvam2day.blogspot.co.uk/2010/10/sample-step-by-step-implementation.html (see comments from yesterday - aren't they yours?)
There seems to be no obvious reason, why it should not work, but maybe it's just designed this way. You may analyze where the error message comes from and maybe you'll get the reason, but I would ask the support.

    Subtitle Audio Scripts Please Help
    Posted: Sep 3, 2006 8:04 PM
I need to write a script that does the following:
1st I have the end user choose if they want subtitles on or off and then both the buttons will default for the user to chose a language choice. So I need a script that will play just audio streams and a script that will play audio with the same language subtitle. Also if the user just pushes the language button I need the script it to default to play just that language...
Here is what I have scripted already please tell me where my mistake is:
    Button Command
    Subtitles
    On mov GPRM 0,0
    Jump Special Features: English
    Off mov GPRM 0,1
    Jump Special Features: English
    English 1. mov GPRM 0,2
    2. Set System stream Au(Audio Stream 1) if (0=0)
    3. Set System Stream St(Subtitle Stream 1)(ON) if (0=0)
    4. Goto 11 if (GPRM 0=0)
    5. Set System stream Au(Audio Stream 1) if (0=1)
    6. Set System Stream St(Subtitle Stream 1)(Off) if (0=1)
    7. Goto 11 if (GPRM 0=1)
    8. Set System stream Au(Audio Stream 1) if (0=2)
    9. Set System Stream St(Subtitle Stream 1)(Off) if (0=2)
    10. Goto 11 if (GPRM 0=2)
    11. Jump JOFDVD:Start
    12. Exit
All my language scripts will be similar just with different audio and sub streams.
    Help Please-
    Ryan-

    Hi There
I think your error is in the first line of your script.
You're using GPRM 0 to set your subtitle condition and when you press enter on your english button your first line says
    1. mov GPRM0,2
I'm assuming you want to use this first comand to set your languange condition so you should use GPRM 1 (or more) - at this stage all you're doing is removing the subtitle condition set by your earlier script.
    Good luck
    Cheers

  • Folder script to print folder content automator

    Hi,
I had a folder script that printed any document added to a folder and when printed, then it deleted the document.  That script help me to print from an OS 9 emulator  (SheepShaver) through OS X.
For I don't know the reason, the folder script does not work anymore.  It could be Yosemite or my new iMac upgrade.  Find out ?  And Apple Script is far away in my mind ... so I am not really sure what is going wrong.
I would like to have the script to print from any folder it is assigned to, instead of applying to only one folder.  Can you help ?   Here is the actual folder script:
property myPrinter : "HP_Officejet_8500" -- Le nom exact de l'imprimante est obtenu en faisant «lpstat -p» dans terminal.
property filesFolderName : "Nous/Documents/SheepShaver/Données/En impression" -- Déterminer le chemin du dossier contenant les fichiers à imprimer.

You would think this would work, remember universal access - enable access must be on.
    tell application "System Events"
    tell application "Finder" to activate
    tell process "Finder"
    keystroke "a" using command down
keystroke left using command down & option down
    end tell
    end tell
The Select All works, but the collapse all doesn't
CE Quickkey will do it with ease but that $80us a machine

you could try the OS X scripting addition but it shareware and want money too and I don't know if it will work

Must be a free OS X scripting addition (osaxen) that does keystokes

  • Link Menu Buttons to Subtitle Track in Encore DVD 2.0?

I desperately need help with subtitles in DVD 2.0. I did: “Timeline > Add Subtitle Track” on each of my 10 timelines. I added a few subtitle texts to check how it works. So far so good. I created a submenu with “Select Subtitle, etc.” Then I tried to ‘link’ the Subtitle Button on this menu to subtitle track #1 – but it wasn't available in the Subtitle Button’s Properties panel’s Link drop down menu (and the Override drop down menu was grayed out). The Adobe Encore DVD 2.0 Manual says (on p. 222) that “You can set the audio or subtitle track with any link control (such as End Action or Override) in the Properties panel.” This doesn't seem to be the case unless I am doing something wrong (most probably). Also, on the same page, the manual says that “2. Select a button to set … the subtitle track… 3. In the Properties panel, choose Specify Other from the Link pop-up menu.” There is no “Specify Other” selection in the list. (One comment: The subtitle track does not show up in the Project panel – may be this is the problem?) I would appreciate any help. Thanks, Laci.

HI Bill, I have another subtitle question. I finished my first (big) Encore DVD 2.0 project yesterday (). I build the DVD image but when I tried to burn it to a DVD disk it turned out that the project has about 122 million more bytes than what would fit on the disk (). So, with PE 7, I edited some of the 9 movies in the project (exported them with same name, to the same place as during the first time) and I opened the Encore project.  I noticed that it used the old (imported by Encore) avi files. Then I did something not very smart: deleted the old (and long) avi. files from the project and imported the edited (and shorter) new avi files. At this point, I noticed, that my laboriously created subtitles disappeared  .
Do these subtitles still exist somewhere? There is a file in the project, called "SpuSplit.ses" in the SubtitleDataFiles folder but I do not know how to open it or if it would help at all. More important: What should I do next time to save the subtitles (or audio for that matter) if I still want to make some (minor) editing on my project after building the DVD?  (I assume that I have to create the subtitles in script files and then import them as many times as I want. Am I right?)
    Thanks for any help, Laci.
(BTW, I uploaded my picture and it is in 'My Profile' but does not show up with these massages.)

The main differences that can cause a problem are scripting additions (64-bit vs 32-bit and security reasons) and the usage of dates (it is not as forgiving). AppleScript itself is basically the same, so if empty paragraphs are what caused your problems the update would have just been a coincidence.

  • Scripting error appears again and again in Console - the cause?

The CONSOLE reports scripting errors around Xmail.osax, again and again. How do I figure out what's wrong?
    8/30/10 Aug 30 2:46:02 PM [0x0-0x78078].com.apple.Console[1918] Console: OpenScripting.framework - scripting addition "/Library/ScriptingAdditions/xmail.osax" declares no loadable handlers.

    THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!

Thanks for your input here. One thing I noticed yesterday in trying to resolve this (as I'm getting all kinds of errors with almost every program referencing this (Finder, iTunes, BetterTouchTool, SizeUp and Radioshift among others), is that I do not have the xmail.osax in the /Library/ScriptingAdditions/xmail.osax. When trying to locate online - as well as calling up your link - http://lestang.org/article63.html, it looks like it is no longer available.
I'm not even sure why this is trying to be called as from my understanding this is a Mail Client.
Here is a snapshot of the errors that are repeated:

Any thoughts as to what may be causing this or on how to fix?
    Thanks

  • Automator and "Run Shell Script" error

First, if I'm in the wrong place with this- sorry. Figured this was an OS kind-of thing.
I recently migrated to a new iMac ... I brought along an Automator script; I've been using it for years to perform a little rsync backup to an USB HDD. It's 'never' given me any problems ... until now!
"*Run Shell Script*" encountered an error .. but alas, the system log is devoid of messages ... and the verbose log I have running indicates that all the files are copied/backed-up ... I would love any input on this that might help me get back on the feet. .....
*Here's what my Shell Script Looks like:*
    Shell Option: /bin/bash
    Pass Input: to stdin
    rm -dfr '/Volumes/Backup HD/*********'
    rm -dfr '/Users/***********/Library/Logs/Profile_Backup.log'
    rsync -rltv /Users/******** '/Volumes/Backup HD/' > /Users/*******/Library/Logs/Profile_Backup.log
(I'm sure there's way to only sync the changed stuff between backups ... but I've simply preferred the fresh copy approach).
*I do however note this in my logs when I open Automator:*
    12/14/10 3:15:46 PM [0x0-0x42042].com.apple.automator.Backup[464] Application Stub: OpenScripting.framework - scripting addition "/Library/ScriptingAdditions/Adobe Unit Types.osax" declares no loadable handlers.

    @Tony T1
Thanks, I'll certainly adjust the log file as suggested
In troubleshooting the problem I went the terminal route - and issued each command ... during the rsync process I was getting an error ... turns out when it was syncing the SyncServices folder it was encountering a copy of the keychain ... which had root permissions - naturally rsync was not able to copy the file (personally I have no idea why the keychain would be being sync'd with anything)!
I removed the file from the sync ... I'm still doing some "debugging" to correct the problem-
    Again, thanks for the assist!

  • Double-click/Drag-&-drop Photoshop files opens application but not file or I get a message saying that some files in Application Support are missing and I have to reinstall. (Photoshop CS/CS2/CS3)

This is most commonly due to installing Photoshop CS/CS2 <i>before</i> doing an archive and install of Mac OS10.3 or OS10.4.<br /><br />One solution is to reinstall Photoshop 7/CS/CS3 after you have installed Mac OS10.3 or OS 10.4.<br /><br />If you have Photoshop 7 and 8(CS), the easiest way to reinstall Photoshop (without disturbing the original installation) is to install to your desktop. After the install is done just trash the Photoshop folder on the desktop.<br />Note: This will only work with Photoshop 7 and 8(CS) but not with 9 (CS2).<br /><br />Photoshop CS2 you must delete the Photoshop CS2 folder. If you have any 3rd party Plugins or presets remove them from the folder before deleting. Just placing the folder in the trash will not work it must be deleted. After reinstalling CS2 you can now put all 3rd party Plugins and presets back in the new folder.<br /><br />---------------------------<br />Another solution courtesy Anne Shelbourne<br /><br />Open your Previous System folder. <br />Find "Adobe Unit Types". <br />Copy it into: <Your current system Hard Drive>/Library/ScriptingAdditions/<br />Then reboot your Mac.<br /><br />---------------------------<br />However, if you happen to be running a non-English version, like Photoshop CS CE or Photoshop CS ME, it appears the missing file does not get installed. You would need to install and delete the international English version first.

The problem you got into is a known problem after updating to Tiger. It is a small 4K file that gets trashed with the update. It is called the Adobe Unit Types. Both Photoshop and Photoshop Elements need this file to function.
One way to get it back is to reinstall Photoshop, the other is to add this file again.
You can get the file from here http://www.dd.se/Tips/bildbehandling/downloads/AdobeUnitTypes.zip
It is only 3,7 KB big.
You put the file you download here:
[hard disk] /Library/ScriptingAdditions. If you don't have a Scripting Additions folder, you create it.
As you trashed Photoshop, you need to completely deinstall it to be able to reinstall it.
