Subtotals problem in hierarchy selection

Dear all,
we have a technical problem in query 'Deviation Analysis'. When data is
displayed as a hierarchy ('Brand local hierarchy', or 'Universal
hierarchy'), calculations ("Calculate Result as...") in Subtotals of
'Formulas' are ignored. Calculations in Subtotals are correct when
hierarchy view is deactivated. For instance,
execute query with following selection:
Company Code = ES01
Sales Organisation = ES20
Calendar Month = 01.2005
1. HIERARCHY DEACTIVATED
Deactivate Hierarchy of 'Prod-L2 Brand'. Check Subtotal in column 'Volume
Deviation Last Year' = -517. Bear in mind that 'Properties' of Key Figure
'Volume Deviation Last Year' define Subtotal as a 'Summation' of singles
values above. Then Subtotal result we get here is correct.
2. HIERARCHY ACTIVATED
Then activate hierarchy of 'Prod-L2 Brand'. In the same figure 'Volume
Deviation Last Year' you will get a different Subtotal = -831, which
actually displays a Subtotal result as if nothing was defined in
'Properties' of Key Figure 'Volume Deviation Last Year'. It seems to ignore
'Summation' subtotal result.
As users need to report data with this special hierarchy for Brand, we
really need to have correct subtotal result in situation 2, that is when
hierarchy is active.

You might want to check out this note, 460255, which exaplains the limitations and behavior of the result rows when hierarchies are used in the query definition.

Hi,
I came up with an problem with a query in the portal. The problem is :
I have one query which is displayed in the portal. The Query has hierarchial selection criteria. I am executing the same query using analyzer. Its taking the variable from the selection and displaying it on the analyzer. I have used the option to " display the query on web " from the BEX query designer. From there its opening and displaying the results with the given selection criteria.
Where as when i open the query seperately in portal, its not displaying the results.
I came to know from one of my colleague that the porblem is with the Web item and the hierarchial variable declared in WAD was different from the variable declared in the BEX Query designer.
I never Worked with WAD. I tried finding out the variable definition. But i was unable to find out where the Hierarchial variable was defined.
Please help me out regarding the same.

Subtotals for a hierarchy

Hi fellow SDNers:
I wanted to find out if there is a way to display the "subtotals" for a hierarchy (consisting of 5 levels) wherein the requirement is to display the sales subtotals for the hierarchy levels 3, 4, 5 but nor for levels 1 & 2
i.e. when the query is displaying the sales information for the product hierarchy levels 1 and 2 we do not want to see the subtotals but when further drilled down to level 3 onwards, we should be able to see the subtotals

      when ever you dont want to some levels in your hierarchy... that you can do in query designer itself.. open your analyser.. in that select ur info object and right click and   and goto properties.. select ur hierarchy name..
        and right click and select restrict    now you will get one pop up window..(variable window) in that you can select your required levels only..
    now execute it.. and check it... there you can get only selected levels only...for ur requirement.. now you can take results for each level ..

Problem in multiple selections in a jList

I have two jLists. Now I have to select some items from one jlist and have to transfer in the other one. But while trying to do it in the runtime I am getting some unexpected runtime errors including "Exception occurred during event dispatching". When I try to transfer only one item it works fine but shows problem in multiple selections. Pleast give your suggestions.

Problem in AT selection screen validation

Hi,
I am having problem in AT SELECTION SCREEN Validation.
I have 2 radiobutton and 6 parameter. if i click first radio button all the 6 radiobutton should enable and take the user input, that is working fine for me.
if i click second radiobutton , out of 6 , 3 parameter should disable and remaining 3 should enable. thats also working fine.
My problem is program has written the validation for this 3 parameter in the AT SELECTION SCREEN.
For first radioutton all the validation working fine, for second validation as soon as i press the radiobutton it will display error message. Based on 2 parameter user is filling value for 3 rd parameter.
I want the same validation to be done for second radio button after user pressing enter.
PARAMETER: p_single RADIOBUTTON GROUP rad1 DEFAULT 'X' USER-COMMAND f1,
           p_multi RADIOBUTTON GROUP rad1.

I need a clarification in my Select query.
Have created a custom search help and my requirement is I have Request ID, Last and First Name as my search parameters. I need to fetch the values from my Ztable on search with the above said search parameters, where its workflow status = 30.

But am not able to select the records, if I searches with Last or First Name. Guess I did some thing wrong in select query.

Problem in standard select query in fagll03

Good Morning frndz,
I m facing a problem while runnin fagll03. when executed it gives timeout error.
When I debug it , it gets stuck in a select query

The content in variable ls_t800a-ntable was FAGLFLEXA and in id_glflex_fieldname was USNAM.
When I cheked in table t800m, the entry could not be found. But in the report instead of setting
sy-subrc = 0 , it is stuck in the select query itself....kindly suggest y it is happening so

Hierarchy selection tab missing in infopackage

Hi Experts,
i am looking how to load multiple hierarchies to Bi so inorder to know available hierarchies from OLTP in hierarchy selection tab in infopackage which was not available at all. i had only data selection tab.i am using version Bi 7.0
how can i found hierarchy selection tab in infopackage

Hierarchy loading is the same for info object which is created under the info object itself.
loading is uploading the data to the hierarchy, creating hierarchy is you will be maintaing the structure of the hierarchy under that info object
Are you sure you have Hierarchy maintained for your info object?
If the hierarchies are maintained you will find the Bell type symbol under the info objects in info providers tab.
As told by mti - drill down till you find the data source --right click on it and select create info package - here you can find the tab hierarchy selection tab (which is the second tab in that screen).

Problem in displaying selected page items in the title in Graph

Hi There;
I have a problem in displaying selected value of named page item in the graphs.
Eg. I have in my worksheet a page item named "Location"; when I use "&WorksheetName &Location" in the title of worksheet it is displaying both the worksheet title and value of selected page item "Location" in my example.
But when I use the same (&WorksheetName &Location) in the title of graph or Axis of the graph, it would show up only the name of the worksheet but not the value of page item "Location", instead it would print "&Location"
Any idea why it is not able to reference the select page item in Discoverer graph? I am using Oracle BI Discoverer 10.1.2.1.

Thanks a lot. It might not have been considered necessary but you do require, e.g in my case I am plotting Average value of a Parameter and it does make sense in including the name/value of Parameter(surface water temp/bottom watter temp) as an Axis instead of just a constant Parameter or say Average Parameter. So that user can plot the variation of different parameters by changing the page items and when user changes the value of parameter and export the graph he/she has the parameter name(actual value) in the graph.
But I can include all the parameters (&Parameters) or all the page items(using &PageItems) in graph then why not individual page-item and individual parameter.
I would log a SR and see what they say.

Problem during hierarchy load from ECC 6.0 to BW

I encountered a problem during hierarchy loads from ECC to BW:
I get the following in BW:
Error when updating Idocs in Source System
Diagnosis
Errors have been reported in Source System during IDoc update:
Once I go into ERP and look at the IDocs I get the following message:
Idoc Error 26:
EDI: Syntax error in IDoc (segment cannot be identified)
Message no. E0078
Diagnosis
The segment E1RSSH does not occur at the current level of the basic type (extension ).
This error can have several reasons:
The segment E1RSSH is assigned to a group whose header segment does not occur.
The segment E1RSSH does not exist in the syntax description of the basic type (extension ).
The sequence of segments in the group in which the segment appears is incorrect.
Previous errors ('mandatory' segment or group missing) may be due to this error.
Procedure
Please check the IDoc or the syntax description of the basic type (extension ).

The most basic setting in a BW system is its connectivity with the R/3 system (which is a basis team activity, but BI consultant can always help).
Issue: While creating source system, I am getting an error "Segment E1RSSH does not exist".
Diagnosis
Segment E1RSSH is in the syntax description, but it does not exist.
The issue was that some of the entries in the table EDISEGMENT were missing.
As this a standard table, it is recommended to restore the table from Backup or from another BI system. (Please ask your basis team to do it.)
Now, the significance of the segments: We all know that we require 3 message types in total to communicate with R/3 system. RSRQST, RSSEND and RSINFO.
Now each of the message types has some segments which help in communication.
You can see this segment types in the t-code we30. Just enter the basic idoc type and click on display.
This error is not a common error, but can be useful if at any stage of implementation or support, the table gets disturbed and you have issues with source system connectivity.

i am facing the problem wih the selection screen in submit program. in my Module pool program i am using the submit program statement, When i execute the program , The module program display the submit program selections creen.
I have implemented the code same as below.
submit ztest with tknum =p_tknum and return.
Can you pleaes help me how to avoid the submit program selection screen.

Hi Charan,
You have to give the selection screen values when you submit a job.
Press F1 on submit and you will see more details.

How-to Dynamic Hierarchy Selection.

Hi guys,
does anyone know how to implement "Dynamic Hierarchy Selection"? I have a main hierarchy but would like to filter it further while loading the hierarchy.
E.g. I have a financial statement verison with both Balance Sheet and P/L items, i would like to separate the main into two new hierarchies, one BS and P/L hierarchies instead, apparently the infopackage allows you to write small codes to dynamically select which hierarhcy you want.

We donot have this type selection at the time of upload. The thing we can do is upload both versions into BIW and in the report we can use Hierarchy variable to have dynamic selection of hierarchy.

CostCenter Hierarchy selection in the Infopackage

For CostCenter hierarchy, in the Infopackage Hierarchy Selection tab, I can able to find the Parent Node for loading, but there is no Child node available.
Can anyone help on how to bring the child node into the Hierarchy selection tab, and also how to check the Hierarchy node in ECC side.

Hi,
You can enter multiple single valus for any field in the infopackage. Just select the row for material type and then click on the insert duplicate button ( + sign ) which is at the bottom letf hand side in the 'Data Selection' tab within the infopackage. You will usually find this 'insert duplicate' icon next to the 'Check' push button.
You can insert as many rows as you want for material type by select the material type rown and clicking on this icon. You can then enter the three values in the three rows for material type.

Hierarchy upload-InfoPackage-Hierarchy Selection tab

I have to upload hierarchy for Internal Order. I have InforPackage but on the Hierarchy Selection tab there is no hierarchy that I am supposed to upload (it's called A1). Do I have to extract the missing hierarchy from R/3? Can someone please provide the steps that should be taken?
It's very urgent as I have to finish it today (well, the deadline is the end of this weekend).

Is ur infosource is properly assigned to the Hierarchy Data source or not!!!!
If not then u need to check the proper data source(From R3) which needs to be used for ur loading.... based on that..
If the DS is available in R3 then replicate the same and assign to ur Infosource..and maintain the proper TS and TR accordingly with the Idocs transfer method..
once this is done then u can able to see the required hierarchy for ur purpose..
make sure that the Hierarchy is available from ur source system.. then only it will be available in the IP selection tab.
