Subtracting Errors Binary Format

Im currently making an application that takes two numbers and subtracts them
Everything is going fine the only problem is that if I take two numbers, lets call them A and B and their subtraction C a error occurs.
For Example:
A = 5.99
B = 5.98
C = 0.009999 is the current result
I believe the error comes from the subtraction in binary format but how can i fix this binary error?

I believe at least one, and probably all, of those articles describe multiple approaches for dealing with this issue.
If you had read my previous comment or even part of any one of the articles, you would know that no, it is not possible to get float or double to exactly represent every possible real number.
Try this excercise. Imagine a base-2 decimal number system that's just like the base-10 system we're familiar with.
100.0 = 4
10.0 = 2
1. 0 = 1
0.1 = 1/2
0.01 = 1/4
0.001 = 1/8
etc.
Now, write a fractional number with that system that is exactly 1/10 in a finite number of bits. Notice how it is impossible, just as it is impossible to represent 1/3 exactly in a finite number of digits base-10.
Now, read the articles, and decide which approach is best suited to your needs.

• How to convert image to binary format

Hi all,
We have developed an Employee search mobile web application in .net which is hosted on an exposed IP server, we need to show the employee data along with the image of the employee on mobile.
When we run this application through our desktop we are able to see the image of the employee since we are doing this through intranet , but when we try to access the same from any mobile device we are able to see only the data but no image, since we are doing this through internet(exposed server).
Please suggest some way to get this image,
is there any function module in ABAP which can convert image to binary format
so that we export binary data to .net application

• LabVIEW binary format that can be opened with Python

I need to save data in a binary format which can be opened with Python. I have tried the "Write Waveforms to File (1D).vi" and can open them back up in LabView, but the binary format is not published anywhere, so I cannot open them in Python. They appear to be saving as DataLog type binary files.
Is there another binary format which I can use that I can open in Python?
The reason I need this is that with 16-channel DAQ at 20kHz I can only save about 30 seconds of data. For longer periods, the task of writing to a text file consumes all available memory and cpu.

I found a solution. I found an open-source project called pyTDMS (google for it), and it can read tdms type files sometimes. It was some trial and error to get my data saved in a way that pyTDMS could open the file, but in the end it works great.
I have two digital output channels as well as 16 analog input channels, so here is how I had to save the data within LabView:
The 16 analog input channels were saved as a 1D array of waveforms. Then the digital output channels were made into another 1D array of waveforms. The trick was to use the write tdms subvi twice. Once for the analog input channels and again, on the same file, for the digital output channels. pyTDMS opens these files just fine, and I can use the metadata to sort out what channels the data goes with in Python.

• Converting Resource(Dictionary Simple Type) to Binary Format.

Hello Experts,
In my Web Dynpro Application,
I have a View Context attribute called "FileResource" of type Resource(Dictionary Simple Type) which is bound to the FileUpload UIElement of View.
When im running the application I am able to Upload the file in my view context attribute successfully,
Now I need to pass it to the RFC as an Import Parameter which is declared as type "RAW-Uninterpreted Sequence of bytes",
kindly guide me how to convert the value of the view context attribute "FileResource" of type Resource(Dictionary Simple Type) into BINARY format, so that i can pass it to the RFC as an import parameter.
Thank you please reply.........

I used this code from a tutorial. And it work. Place Some of this code on any button.
IPrivateFileUploadVIEW.IContextElement element = wdContext.currentContextElement();
//if a file in the FileUpload field exists
if (element.getResource() != null)
IWDResource resource = element.getResource();
try{
InputStream archivo = resource.read(false);
byte[] b = new byte[5000];
archivo.read(b);
//ResourceBundle.getBundle();
wdContext.currentZ_Lmmfu_Cambio_Estado_InputElement().setI_Archivo(b);
wdThis.wdGetAdminCMPController().executeZ_Lmmfu_Cambio_Estado_Input();
//Imprimir nombre del archivo
String name=resource.getResourceName();
wdComponentAPI.getMessageManager().reportException(name,false);
File f = new File(resource.toString());
catch(IOException error)
wdComponentAPI.getMessageManager().reportException(error.toString(),false);
//report success message
// wdComponentAPI.getMessageManager().reportMessage(IMessageAdministracionCMP aa ,new Object[] { resource.getResourceName()}, false);
else
// if no file in the FileUpload field exists
//     report error message
wdComponentAPI.getMessageManager().reportException("Search for a file",false);
// clear the 'FileResource' context value attribute
element.setResource(null);
Is there a better way to do this.
I need to get the creation or modification date from the original file. How can I do this?

• Read Binary File - variable binary format

Hi Everyone,
I'm using the "read from binary file" subvi to interpret some data from a file. I have the code running fine if the the temp file is always the same format, however I want the "read from binary file" to adapt to different file structures based on a user input. Here's a snapshot of my current VI:
The structure of the file I'm reading can change, so I tried to make it so that user input would change the way labview interprets the binary structure. I did this using case structures. The issue I ran into is that the ouput of the different case structures merges into 1 line, and since each case structure's binary format is a different array size I get an error:
======>
Does anyone know of a way to remedy this issue?
If you take a look at my file, I was thinking about putting all of my commands that interpret the binary file and parse the data into a case structure similiar to the one above. I was trying to avoid this as I would end up with a set of the entire code in 12 different cases, and if I wanted to make a small change to the the code I would have to change all 12 cases.
Thanks for any suggestions!

One solution is to include the File Read into the case structure. But you need to find a way to return the different types of data records as you obviously can't connect them to the same indicator.
All in all I find your design rather crude anyhow. Reading a file and letting the user decide what data type to expect is going to give lots of errors. Instead the file should contain information of what is in there and the reading routine should decide based on that how to interpret the next bunch of data.

• Does the new command 2 binary format work with Apple Push Notification Service? I receive an invalid response status code of 128.

Does the new command 2 binary format work with Apple Push Notification Service? I am sending 2 messages with the same payload to 2 different devices. None of the messages display on either of the devices. It seems that at least 3 should have been displayed. For my first device, I received a response with an invalid status code of 128 and the message identifier is 2 indicating that the first message was OK. However no message was displayed on the phone. For the second device, I did not receive any error response, but no message was displayed on the device.
Does ANS perform any validation on the message identifier? The Local and Push Notification Programmin Guide says the message identifier is:
An arbitrary, opaque value that identifies this notification. This identifier is used for reporting errors to your server.
I know that the device tokens are valid because the same tokens work when I use the legacy basic or enhanced formats. The phones display the messages correctly when I send to ANS using the old ANS message format.
Here is the data and the response:

• Epson SX218 doesn't print (client-error-document-format-not-supported)

Hi there,
I'm currently trying to figure out how to get my Epson Stylus SX 218 to work. Unfortunately, cups (or the printer or whatever causes my problems...) obviously just doesn't want me to get this to work.
Here's what I've done so far:
I installed everything as described in the CUPS wiki article (so ghostscript and all the foomatic-stuff is installed, usblp is NOT blacklisted, see why below)
I installed epson-inkjet-printer-workforce-sx218 from AUR
I started cups...
Nothing worked (Printer not recognized, either with or without blacklisted usblp module...)
I searched the forums for a solution
I installed cups-usblp and reinstalled all the cups stuff
Printer got recognized! Yay!
So, now the printer is set up in cups using the avasys driver. But...
It doesn't print!
When I try to print a test page via the cups webinterface it keeps telling me
Unsupported format "application/vnd.cups-banner".
The following packages are installed now:
$ pacman -Qs cups
local/cups-usblp 1.5.0-1
local/libcups 1.5.0-1
$ pacman -Qs foomatic

$ pacman -Qs ghostscript

Please let me know if you should need other outputs, logfiles, etc. I appreciate any idea that could help me to get this damn thing to finally print something.
Thank you very much!

Hi Radhakrishnan,
ORARRP doesn't actually do any printing itself. Via COM/Active-X, it calls the appropriate program that corresponds to the type of output, and then this program does the actual printing. For PDF, it calls Acrobat Reader to print the document. Acrobat Reader displays the printer dialog to let you choose which printer to use, and then when you click OK, Acrobat Reader prints the document and sends it to the printer.
I expect that you'll find that when you use Acrobat Reader yourself on this machine it has exactly the same problems with this particular printer configuration. If so, you'll need to contact Adobe for further assistance.
regards,
Stewart

• JDBC Receiver: FATAL ERROR document format: invalid level 4

Hi,
I am creating an IDOC -JDBC scenario .
The XML created has action as delete.
but in the comminication channel i am getting an error which is
Message processing failed. Cause: com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.RecoverableException: Error processing request in sax parser: Error when executing statement for table/stored proc. 'T_SAP_WBS' (structure 'statement1'): java.sql.SQLException: FATAL ERROR document format: invalid level 4' found (structure 'statement1')
does any one have any idea on this?
Regards,
Tarun Bahal

Hi,
The JDBC format which you are using is incorrect.....please maintain the format as mentioned in this document...there seems to be some mismatch
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/2e/96fd3f2d14e869e10000000a155106/content.htm
By maintaining the format i mean:
1) maintain the hierarchy as mentioned in the link
2) maintain the case (upper/ lower) for the standard elements (you seem to be using statement1 instead of Statement)
3) If there are no multiple stattements then have the name as Statement
If still facing the problem....provide your structure in sdn
Regards,
Abhishek.

• Create a Document in DMS and attach a file coming in binary format

Hi to all,
I have to create a new document in DMS (trx: CV01N) with an attachment but this attachment is a pdf file in binary format. Can I use bapi "BAPI_DOCUMENT_CREATE2"? It support binary files in input or I have to convert files in someway? Or I have to use another BAPI?
I'm using an r/3 4.6c and I know that it is a big limit.
Please, I need help.
Thank you very much in advance,
Enrico

That assumes two things:
1. That Apple would have let Microsoft have access to its file format.
2. That Microsoft would want to spend the time and trouble to write filters for file formats that Apple can't be bothered doing for its own software.

• Replace the XML Tags which are in binary format in 4.6C Version

Hi Experts,
I have an issue. I am working on 4.6 c version of sap. I have a requirement to send ftp of an xml file. I created an internal table which has components of table type too ( For Line items ). After appending a record of sales order into the table I am using SDIXML_DATA_TO_DOM ( To attach the to the document ) and SDIXML_DOM_TO_XML ( To convert the document contents into XML ( Binary Format ).
CLASS cl_ixml DEFINITION LOAD.
g_ixml = cl_ixml=>create( ).
CHECK NOT g_ixml IS INITIAL.
m_document = g_ixml->create_document( ).
CHECK NOT m_document IS INITIAL.
CALL FUNCTION 'SDIXML_DATA_TO_DOM'
EXPORTING
NAME = 'xmldata' " data in character format
DATAOBJECT         = xmldata[]
IMPORTING
DATA_AS_DOM        = l_dom
CHANGING
DOCUMENT           = m_document
EXCEPTIONS
ILLEGAL_NAME       = 1
OTHERS             = 2
IF SY-SUBRC <> 0.
MESSAGE ID SY-MSGID TYPE SY-MSGTY NUMBER SY-MSGNO
WITH SY-MSGV1 SY-MSGV2 SY-MSGV3 SY-MSGV4.
ENDIF.
CHECK NOT l_dom IS INITIAL.
w_rc = m_document->append_child( new_child = l_dom ).
IF w_rc IS INITIAL.
WRITE 'OK'.
ELSE.
WRITE: 'ERR ='.
ENDIF.
CALL FUNCTION 'SDIXML_DOM_TO_XML'
EXPORTING
DOCUMENT            = m_document
PRETTY_PRINT        = ' '
IMPORTING
XML_AS_STRING       = w_string
SIZE                = w_size
TABLES
XML_AS_TABLE = it_xml " Final XML data ( with xml tags ( xml tags are the field names of internal table ) ) in bin
EXCEPTIONS
NO_DOCUMENT         = 1
OTHERS              = 2
IF SY-SUBRC = 0.
WRITE 'OK'.
MESSAGE ID SY-MSGID TYPE SY-MSGTY NUMBER SY-MSGNO
WITH SY-MSGV1 SY-MSGV2 SY-MSGV3 SY-MSGV4.
ELSE.
WRITE: 'ERR =',
sy-subrc.
ENDIF.
So, it_xml has the binary format of XML data.
Now the requirement is that I need to get rid of some XML tags in the final internal table XML data. Because by default, at the start of the the table row the
and
tags are inserted. This is automatically done in the Function module
SDIXML_DOM_TO_XML.
I want to find out the binary string of
and
and replace them by null binary string. I know how to replace the character strings but not for binary strings in 4.6 C.
It is little bit urget. I would appreciate the quicker answer.
