Sudden decrease in bass - had to increase bass level dial to get the same amount as before. W

I currently use my Inspire T7700 speakers with a Creative Audigy 2 ZS soundcard.
Today, everything was working fine.
Suddenly, there is a drop in the bass. I check settings and nothing is changed. When I did the "speaker tests" in the THX Setup Console all of the speakers functioned correctly except the woofer.
When I increased the bass level dial, I finally got bass produced out of the speaker.
Why is it requiring the bass level to be increased fully to get a bass when before all I had to have it was at about 40% to get the same level of bass?
Like I said, no settings were changed. This just "happened" in an instant.

I do find my latency to be quite high from time to time. I've been playing games for many years and have had some extremely poor connections which have produced some horrid pings, but although it isn't too bad the majority of the time - about 20-40ms - it can hit 60-70ms, which isn't acceptable. It can be 15ms at times, but I haven't seen my ping in-game as I've gone from PC to console. I've never had any issue in-game online yet.
Sods law. I just check my connection speed and I got a 3998ms ping. Lovely!

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.
Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup ( not good), then you can transfer itunes purchases from an ipod/iphone/ipad: File>Transfer Purchases

If the media is in the library then yes it is that simple. Connect the device, load it up with your media. The problem is when you try to connect a full device to a new empty library on a new computer when iTunes will offer to replace the content on the device with that in the local library, i.e. nothing! (For anyone in that position see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device).
You should be able to add your devices at https://supportprofile.apple.com/ though I'm not sure what happens if the second hand iPod was previously registered.

I do not know how to do this with an Apple TV (I don't have one), but as far as I know Apple TV only does mirroring.
If you have an HDMI cable long enough to reach your TV from where you sit, then it's easy. The TV could be set up in Extended Desktop mode (mirroring off) as if it was simply another computer monitor, and then you could just drag windows to it. If you have the Displays icon in your menu bar, that's where the setting is, or if the icon is not there, then the setting is in the Displays system preference. But again, that's for conventionally connected monitors, not Apple TV. If you don't have an HDMI cable and wanted a long one that's affordable you can get those at monoprice.com.
The answer we are still waiting for is if anyone knows if Apple TV can be used in extended desktop (non-mirroring) mode.

I had no problem with my IPad 3 connecting to my wi-fi but for some reason lately it tell me can not connect to network. I reset both my wifi and my ipad and I still get the same error.

Dont use a password to connect the ipad and try if unable to join happens try another network. After that it is a repair. Now most likely it is the password on router. typically you access your router with http://192.168.1.1/ BUT it may be different if you changed it or your router uses different one.

No matter what I do FF 3.6 always loads 8 tabs when I open it. I do not want these loaded (they were the first 8 I had opened. I have even deleted and resinstalled the app, but get the same result. PLEASE help me. Thanks

You may have those 8 tabs saved as home pages. Firefox can store multiple home pages, for details of how to change them see [[How to set the home page]].

% DB increase differs for two system from the same landscape

I have done upgrade and then unicode conversion for the two system- sandbox and development from 4.6 C to ECC 6.0 with oracle 10 G and AIX 5.3
On sandbox % db( used db size in DB02 ) increase is 60 to 80 which is as per SAP figures after unicode conversion however on dev it is almost 150 % .
Has anybody faced the same problem before or can you suggest somthing for this tremendous data growth
Also what I have observed is threre are 7 tablespace on sandbox and 8 on Dev with "PSAPSR370" as the additional one on DEV ( PSAPSR3700 is different )
Please help me on this

the database growth depends heavily on the content. Which languages do you have installed in your system and which modules are used by your company?
I think the normal growth should be in a range of zero to 30 percent. The lower end comes from the reorganization effect due to the migration and 30 percent comes due to the fact that most data is normally numeric and numbers are the same with or without Unicode. But in rare situations it could be possible to see much higher values. The reason is, that Oracle, and also DB2, are using UTF-8 encoding if you're running your system as Unicode system. In UTF-8 a two byte Unicode character could be encoded in up to four bytes. That means if your systems contains lots of double byte characters it could grow much more than 30% but it seems unusual to me.
Are you sure that nothing was wrong with your migration?

Has anyone had to repeatedly pay for Canon to fix the same equipment?

I have had my Canon EF 24 - 70 2.8L fixed by Canon repair centers for the same issue on four previous occasions and this repair would make the fifth time. They has lost my records prior to 2012 which included a under warranty repair and a repair that was near $300. In the last year alone, I had it repaired in November 2012 for almost $500. I sent it back for the same problem in June and it was one month past my warranty, so they repaired it as a courtesy, but wouldn't offer a warranty for their work. I have returned it again based on my conversation with customer service and they want me to pay again for the same out of focus problem. I have asked them does the continued repairs for the same problem mean that the lens is irreparable. They said no, that's not the case. But they can't or won't explain to me why I continue to have the same problem. When they fix it this time, they told me to check it and make sure that it's working correctly. Isn't that they're job for the money that I am repeatedly paying them? Are there any other Canon customers who have suffered at the hands of Canon repair service as I have? What can I do about this repeated problem? I don't have the money to continously shell out to Canon for a repair that they don't seem to be correcting properly.

not sure which operating system i am using. whatever because it messed up my ipad. Try to follow directions from forum about connecting to store and being in recovery mode. I was not able to connect just using the home button, had to use home button and sleep/wake button at the same time. finally recovering my ipad, but very unhappy that updates messed it up. If updates are not any good, don't put them out there.

Most likely Digitizer of Front Screen is broken or its Connector to the Logic Board has come loose. You could try a Restore with iTunes on computer. Fix is press connector back to Logic Board. Or, replace entire Front Screen Assembly. Or, take to Apple, if Genius decides it needs Out of Warranty Replacement it is $149 at the Apple Store for iPhone 4.

I had to do a restore on my PC, and therefore reinstall iTunes. Now that I have done so, my "other" space has increased to 6.50 GB for no reason, and I can no longer sync the same amount of music as previously. I have tried all the fixes I can find.

Everything used to fit. It was only after I removed the music to sync because this is considered a "new" library that the "Other" space appeared to this extent.

Since this first message, the "Other" space has increased exponentially. The first time, after the "restore", it increased to over 9 GB. Later, I tried a minor restore again, and now it's over 10 GB. I've seen someone suggest that text messages are to blame. If my text messages are suddenly taking up 4 GB of space, I think we've got bigger problems.

There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto: You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Command-Click for selecting multiple pics.
(Note the above illustration is not a Finder Window. It's the dialogue you get when you go File -> Open)
You can access the Library from the New Message Window in Mail:
There's a similar option in Outlook and many, many other apps. If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
If you want to access the files with iPhoto not running:
For users of 10.6 and later: You can download a free Services component from MacOSXAutomation which will give you access to the iPhoto Library from your Services Menu.
Using the Services Preference Pane you can even create a keyboard shortcut for it.
For Users of 10.4 and 10.5 Create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use this free utility Karelia iMedia Browser
Other options include:
Drag and Drop: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
File -> Export: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
Show File: a. On iPhoto 09 and earlier: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected. 3.b.
b: On iPhoto 11 and later: Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Reveal in Finder -> Original. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.
