Suddenly I have a SAVE AS PROMPT!!!!!

We have Adobe 5.1 reader and Adobe 6 professional. For years I would send my Ms Access reprot to the: 'Adobe' printer. It was an indentified port (a location on our share) where all output would go. Well, all of a sudden it prompts me to save the file; or not. Click: YES to save and it says to insert disks...click CANCEL and you see the file written to the appropriate location. What the heck is going on and how do I get rid of this prompt. I saw a "Prompt for Adobe file name' check box under Adobe PDF Setting and unchecked it, rebooted etc but it still is occurring. I never had to mess around in here before.

after re-install...it defaulted to send Adobe stuff to my C drive. I know how to alter this to go to the share. It STILL prompts me EVERY time though with the SAVE AS / CANCEL option. Again, hit CANCEL and it converts and writes to the correct place. Hit SAVE AS and it says: Unable to find Adbove PDF resource files....C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Adobe PDF 6.0\Settings\Adobe PDF Converter.joboptions. Do you want to run the installer in repair mode.
I put my disc in an d say YES...it repairs but does not alleviate the situation.
I just want the prompt gone. We have automation that regularly would burst an Access report into 400 pages, each its own file.. Having the sit here and click CANCEL 400 times is getting old. This used to work with no problems for 3 years!

In one of site collection at our SP2013 farm, we have "SharePoint Server Publishing" site feature and "SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure" site collection feature activated.
One of user (UserA) create a page in a page library. The new page is marked as "checked out by UserA". It is fine.
Then UserA open the page -> edit page -> key in something and "save". Then the page prompt him "The file Pages/subfolder/test001.aspx has been modified by i:0#.w|test\userA on 8Aug2014 xx:xx:xx" and ask him to choose "Leave
this page" or "say at this page". The date time is exactly the time he was editing the page.
Whatever he choose will save the page and return to "View" mode (non-edit mode).
It is not the only problem. When userA want to edit the same page again and save, it prompt him that "The page could not be saved because your changes conflict with recent changes made by another user. If you continue, your changes will be lost."!
When userA choose continue or "check out". Follow screen show up:
What can we do? In summary, userA cannot edit a page because userA have checked out! We have tried for different users have exactly same issue.

We are having the same problem, the one thing we have found is if we use the Save Icon on the top right hand side of the page in the ribbon (next to follow), that Save works just fine. What is causing the issue is when trying to use the Save Icon on
the left hand side of the ribbon that has the dropdown options to 'Save', 'Save and Keep Editing' or 'Stop Editing'. It doesn't matter if you just click on the main Icon or choose any of the dropdown options, they all cause issues with the pages.

I still don't understand what the problem that you are experiencing is. If you get to a page where yahoo is asking JUST for your password, and there is no box for username (it may have your username displayed, but not in a enter box), then you ARE "being kept signed in" You can verify this by instead of entering your password, go to www.yahoo.com home page, and it will say something like "Hi, Amber" This means you ARE signed in.
When you get that page asking for just your password, you are NOT being asked to sign in again. You are simply being asked to verify/enter your assword an Nth time. If you get that page right after entering your username and password, try clicking the "back" (previous page) button. It might just go to your inbox.
If this is the case, your problem has nothing to do with being kept signed in or not, the problem is that for some (unknown to me) reason, yahoo is asking you to re-enter your password, kind of like when your mac asks for your mac password when changing system settings. Yahoo does this as a safety feature when you go to account settings, and apparently abritary other times. I wish I understood just why I get it every time after signing in.
It could be because I have java turned off. It could be because I don't accept third party cookies. Maybe a cache file. Or a hundred other things... I don't know. It could simply be yahoo is scrooing safari users. I have glanced at the html, but to really understand it, it would take me days. There are over 25 places where username and password are in the html "source" code of the yahoo login page, and even understanding that may not tell me. In the past, I have seen code essentiall saying "if IE x.3.2" do this, if chrome do that, if mozilla do something else, otherwise make it next to impossible...."
My problem is not only I get asked for my assword a second time, but also (and only very recently) I do not get a prompt to save username and pasword. I have gone to yahoo help pages to try to figure it out, and I feel like I just run in circles. If one wants to send a question in, they have to answer half a dozen questions disclosing private information. And I pay yahoo $20/year. grrr

Please take these steps if you're prompted for a password when moving items in your home folder to the Trash.

Ok this worked to solve the error.
Use cmd prompt in windows 7 or 8 and run as admin:
sc config lanmanworkstation depend= bowser/mrxsmb10/nsi
sc config mrxsmb20 start= disabled
No need for all that power shell nonsense as shown elsewhere for windows 8.
That's it. Also force smb2 disabling on the apple side for good measure.
With the above I was able to network mavericks and windows 8.1 pro flawlessly. He issues I had before where I could not read video, ISO and audio files (but could open documents and pictures from the windows machine connected to an apple network share folder went away.

Why does pages suddenly deny permission to save documents?

Pages worked beautifuly for several months, but suddenly began denying permission to save either text documents or texts w/attachments. I have not changed any settings or programs and therefore do not know how to remedy the situation that suddenly developed.

Have you done any system updates lately? Using Disk Utility to repair permissions after system & software updates is a good practice. Deleting the Pages preference file is a good troubleshooting step. Go to (your account) > Library > Preferences & delete the com.apple.iwork.pages.plist & restart Pages. The door to the user's Library is hidden in Lion but it is easy to open. In Finder, hold down the Option key while clicking on the Go menu & your users Library will appear about halfway down the list.

Check your settings. The iPads have a small switch on the right edge. It can be used as a rotation lock to keep the screen from automatically reorienting itself as you move around, but you need to have the tablet’s settings configured properly. That same switch, right above the volume buttons, can also be set to function instead as a mute button to silence certain types of audio.
If the switch is set to work as a mute button, you can change its purpose to “screen-rotation lock” by tapping the Settings icon on the home screen. On the Settings screen, tap General on the left side, and on the right side of the screen flick down to “Use Side Switch to.” Tap to select Lock Rotation or Mute to set the button’s function. Even if you set the side switch for your preferred use, you can still mute the Mini or lock the screen. Just double-click the Home button, and when the panel of apps appears along the bottom edge of the screen, flick the row from left to right with your finger. How do I get rid of this random information which I can't find any cause for on my iTunes library? Most of my content is audio at 7GB, my video is at .14GB, and I'm up to date in my software, and I have searched my iTunes for this 6.9GB of information and can find nothing that is in there that shouldn't be in there, so where did it come from? Where did it go? And how do I get rid of it? I have a Mac OS X Version10.6.8

"Other" represents data that iTunes can't recognize. A few hundred mb of other is normal. The 6.9 gb you have represents corrupted data (maybe from an interrupted sync or some other glitch).
Sometimes, syncing one more song can clear up the extra other. If not, you'll need to restore your iPod. Here are the instructions: Restore: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
You can restore from your iPod backup when asked.

The power supply is shot. But that it lasted even this long is the wonder.. not that it died.
The TC runs too hot..
Look on ebay for "Time Capsule power supply"
You can get a replacement and fix it although the economics are not so good.. it is probably time for a new TC.
If you can DIY it is really only a few dollars worth of capacitors that go bad.

Are you trying moving the file from Elements Organizer?
If yes, select the file, go to File menu and select Move. There you can choose the location where you want to move the files.

Have file save dialog configure csv file type

I am saving a program recipe file in csv format.
I can save and retrieve the file without problems.
What I would like to do is have the save file dialog box show a file type of *.csv instead of the default all file types *.* and then depend on the user to enter file.csv
Does anyone know a way to do this programitically?

at this stage i'm not comfortable having my docs, of any sort, be saved to the cloud - whether that be Apple's cloud or Adobe's. I just want to keep them in the machine and saved in the finder - nowhere else. Is that possible with Mountain Lion? Or do i HAVE to save them to one cloud or another.
