Hi, I’m new to HFM and in process of creating the Metadata for a sample hfm application for my learning purpose. I need some sample excel templates for HFM Metadata creation. I would appreciate your help on this. Thanks.

Is it possible to display a date as (DD-MON-YYYY) in excel output using excel template in xml publisher where date should be displayed as date only not string.
I've tried to use hierarchy node variables, but it seems like you can't specify a attribute of the hierarchy such as level. So with the WBS hierarchy, if you create a hierarchy node variable, you specify the WBS value to select (If I understand this correctly). I wish I could instead specify "give me all the WBS nodes that happen to have the value of the level attribute greater or equal to 3. If I understand Juergens post, he is saying make security access so that only certain WBS levels can be returned in the query. I suppose we can try that, but that would then preclude getting the level 1 and 2 in the future if the authorization is global.

Translating a report which is using excel template
Hello,
We are working on a BI report using excel template. I've checked the report designer's user guide and it says template translation is a feature only supporting RTF and BI publisher layout template.
I am wondering what is the best practice for translating a report which is using excel template.
So far I have a alternative which is making all labels in my template dynamically getting values from HCM lookups , but this solution is time consuming.
Could anybody help here?

When Creating a universe using excel, universe is blank.
Hi,
I want to create a universe using excel sheet, my server is 64bit windows, and business objects is 3.1 SP 3 FP 2.6,
I created an ODBC connection; these are the steps I followed
1) I Navigated to C:, windows, syswow64 and ran the application odbcad32
(Windows server 2008 64 bit) and created a ODBC connection using a Excel sheet 2003.
2) Then i did the following change
<Parameter Name="Transactional Available">No</Parameter> is set to Yes under the Generic ODBC Data Source in below location
...\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\win32_x86\dataAccess\connectionServer\odbc\odbc.sbo
3) Then went to universe created connection using under database middle ware as microsoft -MS Excel 2003 - Odbc drivers- and selected the data source connection, test the connection server is working fine.
4) i created a universe using the connection.
But the problem is i canu2019t see the values, dimensions and measures in my universe it blank.
Please help me to overcome the issue.

"Microsoft Odbc driver manager data source not found and no default driver specified"

Yes you are correct. Dimensions are different in HFM and Planning. I understand why we need different targets but my concern now is since Option B is correct and lets say I am extracting Net Income (Under Account Dimension) rollup from EBS into Shared Library. Will it automatically update Net Income in HFM and Planning both? (Note:-Net Income Rollup exists in both HFM and Planning) or I will have to manually drag and drop Net Income from shared library to HFM and Planning application?.
In other words does it update the Shared Library and applications at the same time?

How to group data and assign cell names using Excel templates

reading the article "Real Excel Templates 1.5" on the Tim Dexter's Blog, I found that I need hierarchical data for Excel templates. So only in this way I can group my data.
My hierarchy is composed by 3 levels:
lev 1 DESTINATION: is the higher level that groups SERVICES and COUNTRY
lev 2 SERVICES: is the level that groups the countries
lev 3 COUNTRY: is the lowest level with the COUNTRY, CALLS and CALLS_MINUTES details
An example of my hierarchy is this:

Not considering the CALLS and CALLS_MIN details (I focused only on the COUNTRY which is as the same level), with this data template, making tests on my excel template, I noticed that I can group ONLY two nested levels using the format XDO_GROUP_?group_name?

So...I think that the problem is how I choose the excel cells when I assign the XDO_GROUP_?group_name?
Anybody had made some tests, or can help me ???? I'm becoming crazy.....

Output shown blank when we run report in xml publisher using excel template
Hi,
1) We have a requirement where we need to run report to shown 100 columns. Since Microsoft word supports only 63 columns. So we are building the report template in Excel.
2) When I run the report in Excel locally I get the output. But when I uplaod in BIP server and then run the report It gives a blank output.
BI Publisher version 10.1.3.4.1
BI Publisher Desktop version 11.1.1.5
Please look into the issue.

Cannot create PDF files using Excel
I'm using Acrobat PDFMaker 5.0 for Excel to convert my invoices into PDF files to send to clients but for some unknown reason it has just suddenly stopped working. It starts the conversion process OK but then freezes and just hangs. I can continue using my PC but the CPU usage shows as 100%. I end up either having to cancel the conversion or close the programme completely using task manager.
I'm afraid I'm not very computer savvy, but I really need to find a solution to this problem asap.
Please can anybody help me?

You may also want to confirm whether or not this is document specific. Does a new Excel file with just a few letters typed into cell A1 convert fine? If so, you may want to uncheck the 'Enable text and reflow in tagged PDF' option within the PDFMaker preferences. I may have skewed that verbiage slightly as I haven't looked at Acrobat 5 in a VERY long time, but I recall that option sometimes causing Word and Excel conversions to hang.

Create an excel template for a report and open it always in that template

I've a question. I have a report in BI Answers. I would export it in BI Publisher and create for it an excel template which contains any text and a macro. Then I would associate report to the template so that when i open report in BI Publisher, it appears in my template document and i can apply macro.

Each user should have their own icloud account, otherwise they end up getting the same emails, contacts, calendars, notes, reminders, etc. - usually not what you want. But if all have been sharing the same itunes ID, keep it that way, you can have different IDs for itunes and icloud.
If you already have another icloud account, and want to set it up on a device, then go to Settings>icloud, scroll to bottom of screen and tap Delete Account. This only disconnects the device from that account, no data is lost on icloud. Then enter the account ID that you want to use.

Creating multiple page report with single page excel template

I have a created a single sheet excel template. When my LabVIEW program runs, I want to insert a data table in the excel report for each time the loop runs. Each time I add a new sheet in the report and add the data table. I want to get the same template in each new sheet. Please let me know how to insert the same template in each new sheet in the same file. Right now I need to create template file with 5-6 worksheets each with the same format.

I have a date xml tag with value like "2012/04/01 00:00:00" i need to show this in excel output as "01-APR-2012".
I am using Excel template, need your help to achieve the same.
I tired to use Trunc,Substr,Format date but nothing is working.

Thanks for the reply, i have already checked the link but it doesn't have syntax to use Trunc,substr etc. functions.
Also date in example is - "1996-02-03T00:00:00.000-07:00" , but in my case date format is different "2012/01/01 00:00:00".
