Summarization&grouping

I have the problem of summarization and i try to explain my situation.
i use FS-cd and i'd like transfer G/L item to FI.
When I transfer to G/L the reconciliation keys, I need to have the open item grouped for businessa area, product group and insurance type.So I need to have this kind of grouping
Example: business area 3000, product group 01, insurance type 1
In G/L I need the total of items transferred that have businessa area 3000,product group 01 and insurance type 1; after and other group of all items transferred that have ,for example, the same businessa area and insurance type, instead the product group is 02.
Look the attachment and verify if is possible to do something.
Thanks in advance and Kind Regards

Hi Nagesh,
thanks for your answer.
my problem is criteria for summarization.
for example: i create 2 document in FS-CD with egual:
     Reconciliation key,
     Company code,
     Posting date,
     Document date,
     Currency,
     G/l account,
     Business area
document 1 have: product group=1 and insurance type=1 and amount 100
document 2 have: product group=2 and insurance type=2 and amount=120
i can find this information in DFKKOP table.
i close the reconciliation key and look in DFKKSUM; i find one positition with amount 220 that is the summary record.
i'd like find two different document.
if i mark 'singol document' in post document (with FPE1) i have my perfect solution.
if i create a payment plain item and i run 'Vyspa', i don't have my perfect solution.
ther is a customizing for this problem?
is it possibile insert 'the single document' flag as a default values?
do you know where is possible to insert the summarization key fields?
thank in advance

  • Format and formula

    Hi there, I'm currently trying to set up a report that will show me the correct margin by percentage, currently my DB has a column that gives me the margin, but it's the wrong margin.
    Example 1.
    if a item had been sold 10 times and I get 10 margin for each time that is being sold, my db and crystal report will take all 10 margin and add it all up and divided by 10 and give me the total margin of the item; however, the real margin should be calculated by my total of all 10 Gross profit  and all 10 of my sales amount. I talk the total sum of my gross profit and divided the total sum of my sales amount and that is the real margin.
    Example 2.
    Margin
    44.18604651
    55.05617978
    55.05617978
    51.61290323
    55.05617978
    55.05617978
    44.18604651 Total Margin% is 51.46% and is the wrong margin
    correct Margin that is being calculated is
    Grost profit
    171
    382.2
    411.6
    230.4
    264.6
    720.3
    47.5
    total of 2227.6
    Sales Amount
    387
    694.2
    747.6
    446.4
    480.6
    1308.3
    107.5
    total of 4171.6
    "Gross Profit" 2227.6 / "Sales Amount" 4171.6 = 53.40%
    I would like to know how do I go about format the correct formula in my reports, I had already go to my formula field and set up a formula of sum ({gross.profit}) / sum ({sales.amount}) and it didn't work. I had also set up a formula to get my Gross profit and my sales amount within Crystal report than take the 2 formula and / against each and no go. I had also create group and summarize group of my sum total of my gross profit and sales amount and set up formula to divide my to summarize group and no go.
    I have over 3000 items within a excel sheet and each item fell after another item so I set up a group against my item code, so the item code wont' repeat it self.

    in crystal to create percents
    (sum ({gross.profit}) / sum ({sales.amount}) *100)
    make sure you have the () and the *100

  • Should I do this with Java Code or Stored Procs ? (for best performance)

    Hi All,
    I need to decide where should I implement my business logic, in Java code or Stored procs.
    Here is the requirement :
    - One Order has 70 products (Order_Table )
    - Can be duplicate products, so I have to do summarize / grouping by product
    - For every product, I have to check, if it is entitled for a Bonus product, then I have to Insert one to Bonus_Table.
    - This is done when/after the transaction is SAVED (COMMIT)
    The question is, which one has better PERFORMANCE :
    (1) Create a rowsetIterator on the Order details (70 products) and call a stored procedure to do the logic for every single product (so that the Insert to Bonus_Table done in stored proc). means the stored proc will be called 70 times.
    OR
    (2) After the transaction is COMMITted, call the stored procs ONCE to do the logic for all the products at once.
    OR
    (3) I do all the logic with Java Code within ADF
    Given the requirement above, which approach is most efficient / best performance ?
    Thank you very much,
    xtanto

    Problem with this is that you ask 100 people and you probably get 100 different answers. ;o)
    Many would say that you push as much business logic into the database with your data; others might say you only put data in your database and your business logic is kept on the application server.
    In reality your would probably have a mix of both and your decision would probably be influenced by your own background ...
    Can't be more precise than that.

  • Re: Issue with multiple records loading into cube

    Hello Gurus,
    A report is run on a monthly basis for Billing commissions. Info cube has all the data related to the Billing commission.
    It has a custom field for total commissions for which the data gets populated from the DSO based on the Billing
    document conditions. Look up has been done for the total commissions field. Most of them are showing up
    the right values, but few billing documents are showing up the wrong values.
    I made an attempt by reloading  the effected Billing documents into Info cube, now the code works and
    total commissions are showing up right values. I tried selective deletion and loaded the data for the whole month,
    the billing documents again show up the wrong values. These billing documents show up the right values when
    they are loaded individually.I tried checking if the code was wrong, but it was working when the effected ones
    are loaded individually. Please let me know your suggestions on this. Thanks in advance

  • Sorting functionality : Project systems information system

    Hello Experts,
    I have a problem,as discribed below. Please give me your expert suggestion.
    Requirement is : in report CN41 I need to display one custom field "XXXXX"
    and I need to enable sorting functionality on  this field.
    For this have created a sort profile in "define profiles for srting crietria" and assigned
    field "XXXXX".The sort criteria for this is assending order.
    Then have assigned this sorting profile to the PS info profile.
    Now when i Run CN41...the field 'XXXXX" is displayed and the sort icon appears
    on the top of the field collumn' 'XXXXX". BUT i am not able sort my CN41 report based on this.
    Did I miss anything here ? Even View--> sort/summarize/group ( from the top bar )
    is also not enabled.
    Can you please guide me where have gone wrong. Any other suggestions to enable this sorting functionality are welcome.
    Thanks in advance
    Sandeep

    Hi,
    I think in CN41 sort/summarize/group under 'View' menu is related to 'PS hier. type' of project view in OPUR.
    If you have fixed sort criteria then you can::
    Create a profile for sort criteria in OPTV.
    Add sort criteria profile in profile for calling overviews in OPSL.
    Add profile for calling overview in overall profiles for info. sys. under 'Structure overv' Field.
    Regards,
    Harsh.

  • Summarize (sum) a field in a child group to a parent group section

    Can someone tell me how to insert a summary (sum) of a field in a child group to a parent group?  The column is not in the detail row, only a group section.

    Hi Mark,
    As I understand from the description, you have 2 groups(child and parent) and you want to insert summary of the field in child group to a parent group.
    Try  following........
    Go to Insert -> summary
    Insert summary based on required field and then under the option "Summary Location" select the Parent Group.
    Please let us know if you are looking for something else.

  • How to create a sum on change of a detailed record without using groups

    Hi,
    I'm working on an overtime/payroll report.  Overtime hours are calculated based on hours worked greater than 40 within the span of Sunday to Saturday.  Further, pay periods are every two weeks and do not align with the calendar week of sunday to saturday.
    I've managed to figure out how to do the overtime calculation from sunday to saturday and then the totals for each of these calendar weeks. However, I'd also like to calculate the totals for the pay periods.  I cannot group on both the calendar week AND the pay period id because sometimes the calendar week starts before the pay period starts and sometimes the pay period starts before the calendar week. So, one is not a sub-group of the other.  I tried setting both up as groups but it, unfortunately, resets by hour calculations at the wrong point because when one group is still going the other is ending.
    So, the report is working well with just the one group - calendar week (oh, and there is a higher level group - employee id as this calculation is done for each employee). I can include the pay period id in the detail lines and I can see when it changes. So, if I could create a formula that summed the hours by pay period id and than reset when a new pay period id begins that is what I am after. I just want the sum of hours upon each change of pay period id.  I'll attempt to show what the data looks like below:
    Group 1: Employee Name (say Fred Jones)
       Group 2: Week Beginning January 8, 2012
    Date  RegularHours   OvertimeHours  PayPeriodId
    Jan 8        12                              0                            1
    Jan 9        12                              0                            1
    Jan 10      12                              0                            1
    Jan 11       4                               8                            1
    Jan 12       0                               12                          1
    Jan 13       0                               9                            1
    Jan 14       0                               6                            1
    Total      40                          35
    Group 2: Week Beginning January 15, 2012
    Date  RegularHours   OvertimeHours  PayPeriodId
    Jan 15      12                              0                            1
    Jan 16      12                              0                            1
    Jan 17      12                              0                            1
    Jan 18       4                               9                            2
    Jan 19       0                               10                          2
    Jan 20       0                               8                            2
    Jan 21       0                               7                            2
    Total      40                          34
    So, the total hours for pay period #1 should be:
    RegularHours   OvertimeHours
    76                                35
    And, the total hours for pay period #2 should be:
    RegularHours   OvertimeHours
    4                                   34
    I tried creating a formula: Distinctcount ({@OT Hours}, {Command.pay_periods_id}) but Crystal says I cannot summarize the formula that is in it.
    I'm not a programmer but it feels like a loop of some sort (For each, unique pay period id sum the OT Hours).
    Any and all help much appreciated in advance!
    Mark

    Hi Mark,
    Here's something I have come up with:
    1) Create this formula and place it on the details section beside the PayPeriodID field.Replace in the formula with PayPeriodId, with RegularHours and with OvertimeHours.
    WhilePrintingRecords;
    numbervar array reg_hrs;
    numbervar array ot_hrs;
    numbervar array payid;
    numbervar reg;
    numbervar ot;
    numbervar x;
    numbervar y;
    if not({PayperId} in payid) then
        y := y + 1;
        redim preserve payid[y];
        payid[y] := {PayperId};
    if onlastrecord then
        reg := reg + {Regular};
        ot := ot + {Overtime};
        x := x + 1;
        redim preserve reg_hrs[x];
        redim preserve ot_hrs[x];
        reg_hrs[x] := reg;
        ot_hrs[x] := ot;
    else if {PayperId} = next({PayperId}) then
        reg := reg + {Regular};
        ot := ot + {Overtime};
    else
        reg := reg + {Regular};
        ot := ot + {Overtime};
        x := x + 1;
        redim preserve reg_hrs[x];
        redim preserve ot_hrs[x];
        reg_hrs[x] := reg;
        ot_hrs[x] := ot;
        reg := 0;
        ot := 0;
    2) Create this formula and place it on the Group Footer 1 (Employee Name group):
    WhilePrintingRecords;
    numbervar array payid;
    numbervar array reg_hrs;
    numbervar array ot_hrs;
    numbervar i;
    stringvar final;
    for i := 1 to ubound(payid) do
        final := final + "For Pay Period # "&payid<i>&chr(13)&chr(13)&"Regular Working Hours are :"&reg_hrs<i>&chr(13)&"Overtime Hours are :"&ot_hrs<i>&chr(13)&chr(13)&chr(13)
    final;
    3) Right-click this field and select Format Field > Common tab > Check the 'can grow' option and increase the horizontal size of the formula field to around 3.5 to 4'
    4) Create this formula to reset the variables at the Group Header 1. This will make sure it prints the Regular and Overtime hours for every employee:
    whileprintingrecords;
    numbervar array reg_hrs := 0;
    numbervar array ot_hrs := 0;
    numbervar array payid := 0;
    numbervar reg := 0;
    numbervar ot := 0;
    numbervar x := 0;
    numbervar y := 0;
    numbervar i := 0;
    stringvar final := "";
    You may then hide the 1st and the last formula (Right-click > Format field > Common tab > Suppress)
    Let me know how this goes!

  • Creation of Sub-Totals within Groups

    Hi - hope this is me just being a plank but I've hit a brick wall whilst trying to recreate a set of management accounts. So far the report has just two Groups - call them A & B for ease. Group B summarizes the detail and Group A neatly collects the results from Group B.
    Group A  comprises 6 parts all doing their bit and all the standard Crystal Sub-Totals (Summaries) work just fine. The problem I encounter is when I need to insert another Sub-Total into Group A which summarizes multiple parts of Group A e.g. Part 1 is Sales, Part 2 is Cost of sales, Part 3 is Labour, Part 4 is Expenses, Part 5 is Other and Part 6 is Depreciation. I need to insert a Sub-Total between Parts 3 and 4 which basically gives a total of Sales minus Cost of Sales minus Labour and to then continue with Parts 4 to 6. This is obviously a huge simplification of the issue but an answer to this would let me proceed with everything else.
    I've tried creating an line so I can add a formula for this by giving it a name of its own in Group A but it fails to appear on the report. I've also tried the 'Insert Section Below' option and whilst I can suppress it where necessary the formula just picks up values from the last entry on the Detail Section.
    Any ideas where I am making some elementary mistakes and is there an easy solution? Many thanks

    Hi,
      Try to create a manual running total formula for summing the fields with a condition.
    Create a @reset formula and place it report header:
    formula:
    whileprintingrecords;
    numbervar i:=0;
    Create a @eval formula and place it in group header A:
    formula:
    whileprintingrecords;
    numbervar i;
    if {groupname.field} = 'Labour' or {groupname.field} = 'Expenses'  then
    i:= i + {summary.field};
    Create a @display formula and place it in report footer;
    formula:
    whileprintingrecords;
    numbervar i;
    Hope this helps!

  • How do I create a summary sheet of Group values without using a subreport?

    Hello,
    I have a report (CR 2011 over MySQL) that churns through a lot of data. It presents information in the Details section and the Group Footer section. I want to include a summary sheet as the first page that only shows the Group Footer data. The only way I've figured out how to accomplish this is by putting the same report as a subreport into the Report Header and then suppressing the details section. I don't like this approach because the same data-intensive report is actually running twice now.
    I can't just use the "Hide" feature in the Details Section because when I run the report (from the .NET viewer) none of the details print. To print the details I would have to double-click on each Group Footer which launches a new tab with the details for that particular group only.
    I know how to create shared variables so not sure if that can play a part.
    Thanks in advance for tips in keeping this to one report with a summary page!
    Mark

    Hi Mark,
    What kind of summary functions do you use on the Group Footer? As long as they're basic summaries (no print time functions etc), you could just move them to the Group Header. The Group header can then serve as your 'Summary sheet'.
    If these are printime functions that you're dealing with, then there isn't another way other than using a Subreport to show the Summary sheet. The Subreport itself does not need to be against the same dataset though.
    To speed it up, you could perhaps, create a Stored proc that does all the Summarization and use those columns on the report.

  • Running Total - How to summarize a formula field?

    I'm sorry if this comes over as stupid but I have got myself quite messed up and am not 100% au fait with Crystal Reporting.
    The aim of my report is to calculate the costs of selected tests and to calculate a grand total of all tests at the end.
    I have created a group of  jobtests.TestTypeName
    Details
    1. testTypeName - to show Test Name that is being calcutaed - Database field
    2. Count ({jobTests.testTypeName}, {jobTests.testTypeName}) - to show number of tests of that type - this is a formula field
    3. Analysis1 - to show the cost of that test type - Database field
    4. {@CountTests/TestType} * {jobTests.AnalysisN1} - to show the number of tests per test type mulitplied by the cost of that test type - this is a formula field
    Report footer
    Count ({jobTests.testTypeName}) - to count the total number of tests
    MY PROBLEM - I need to see the sum of 4, this would be my grand total
    Trying to run the Running Total I can't get it to Summarize the field 4 because it is a formula field.
    What can I do?
    Thanks.

    You can't do a SUM on a formula that uses another aggregate function.  However, for both 4 and your grand total, you just need to SUM() (with ",{jobTests.testTypeName}" for the #4 calc), as the database field will be the cost for each test in each record.

  • Summarize data from a subreport in a main report

    Good afternoon,
    I'm trying to summarize data from a subreport with data in a main report and I can't get it to summarize all the data correctly. The reports are linked on order number.
    The main report has 3 groups - customer id, batch, order number (in that order). In the detail section I have product and amount. I have the group footer for group order numbers split into two. Footer A has the subreport.
    The subreport has tax code and amount in the detail and I've created a shared variable:
    WhilePrintingRecords;
    Shared CurrencyVar taxtotal := Sum ({@total tax})
    In my main report I created a formula for the shared variable:
    WhilePrintingRecords;
    Shared CurrencyVar taxtotal; taxtotal
    In Footer B of the order number group I have a summary field that is taking the shared variable and adding it to the product amount and creating a total.
    {@taxtotal1} +Sum ({@ext price}, )
    That is all working fine. Where my problem comes in is on the footer for the Batch group. There are 3 order numbers for 1 batch. I have this summary field in the Batch group footer
    ({@taxtotal1} +Sum ({@ext price}, ))
    But it's not calculating correctly. I need it to take all the product amounts and all the tax amounts and add them together, what it is doing is only adding one of the tax amounts along w/ all the product amounts.
    What am I doing wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Jeannette

    Hi Jeanette,
    You need to have the running total accumulate into the Batch group as well.  Right now it's just getting the the Tax Total from the last Order Number.
    In the formula in Footer B of the Order Number, change your formula to:
    WhilePrintingRecords;
    Shared CurrencyVar taxtotal;
    CurrencyVar batchTaxTotal;
    batchTaxTotal := batchTaxTotal + taxtotal;
    taxtotal;
    Now in your formula in the Batch footer change it to:
    WhilePrintingRecords;
    CurrencyVar batchTaxTotal;
    (batchTaxTotal +Sum ({@ext price}, {batch}))
    In the Batch Group Header, you will need to reinitialize the total to 0 for the next batch:
    WhilePrintingRecords;
    CurrencyVar batchTaxTotal := 0;
    Good luck,
    Brian

  • Is there a fuction call "on change of group" in CR2008?

    i want to summarize a field of the first record in each group, and than display the result in the report header.
    using "running total field" can summarize it but only calculated the first record if placing the result in the report header.
    i want to make it with "Formula Fields", is there a fuction call "on change of group" in Formula Fields?
    many thanks!

    Check out InRepeatedGroupHeader and see if it will help.

  • SORT ORDER WITHIN GROUPS

    Post Author: Kara
    CA Forum: General
    Hi,
    I am using version 9. I have designed a report based on an access control database. It shows a person's time in and time out, then totals these hours. My report is grouped as follows:
    Department
    Date/Time
    Unique ID
    The main data of the report is shown in group footer 3 (Unique ID) and is displayed in numerical order. I need to change the sort order to display by last name, first name but because I have grouped by unique ID I can't seem to be able to do it!
    Any help gratefully received,
    Kara

    I use a similar report to track service personnel who also have a unique ID.  I have mine set up as follows - maybe this'll help.
    I used selection expert to specify the dates I want to see.
    Group 1 sorts on the unique ID. Instead of printing the unique ID field in the group header, I have Employee.EmpName.  They'll come out in their unique ID sort so the names might be a little out of order. If that's a problem you could put sort option on that field.
    Group 2 sorts by the Job ID, with the group header suppressed.
    Detail line has location, job id, date, time on, time off, total time in hours and if it's completed.
    Group 2 summarizes at date and amount at the job ID level.
    Group 1 summarizes at technician.
    I get very accurate reports to match against their hand written time cards.
    Perhaps if you re-arranged the grouping?

  • Cluster Installation - SQL 2005 / 2003 - Creating cluster group

    Hi All,
    I am working on the cluster Installation in our environment and facing some issues at the time of installing first node MSCS  Installation. let me summarize the activities done so far
    Environment Details
    Physical Disk :
    G: (Physical Disk - SAN )
    I : (Physical Disk - SAN )
    C: Local disk
    Q: (Physical Disk Quorum - SAN )
    F: (Database and logs)
    -- > SCS installed locally in the server in G drive
    Virtual Hostname and IP : SeparateIP & cluster1
    Node 1: Hostname and separate IP
    Node 2 : hostname and Separate IP
    Installed MSCS service and tested the same - its working fine
    Installed SQL 2005 database in cluster mode and its working fine
    Started installing SAP
    Step 1: Installation of SCS instance in node A (Used F drive) - Successfull Installed
    Step 2: Installation of First node MSCS in node A
    Here I am facing an issue, in the end phase of the installation it will ask for creating cluster group -- > There I need to define the Global disk as F (Which is defined at the time of installing SCS instance) - But i dont see that disk is available in the drop down box .
    Is there any other workaround to bring the Global disk while creating the cluster group (First node MSCS installation)
    Looking forward for your suggestions
    Thanks and Regards
    Vijay

    Regret for the late update
    112266 solved my problem and In my case, I have bisected the disk as two but in the cluster environment that should not be the case. Ensure the the same in disk management
