SUN 7410 - CLI - RAW XML-RPC DOCUMENTATION / HELP / API USAGE GUIDE

hi,
I saw the RAW section in the CLI of Sun Storage 7410 console. There a lot of parameters/functions are available.
But was not able to find any kind of documentation , as to how can i use them either from within the CLI or from outside using XML-RPC.
If anyone has the documentation or any knowledge for the above , then please inform me.

Do you have any XML-RPC server side API for Sun 7410 which has to be invoked from the client side.
I used the apache provided xml-rpc client jar in java but did not get the server side api to invoke.
Could please provide the link or doc location. I appriciate your help.
Thanks & Regds,
Taranisen

  • I know nothing about XML-RPC-Plz help

    First of all let me tell you that I am fairly new to XML and XML-RPC and how to parse and manipulate it in java.
    So please prepare yourself for some stupid questions and spare me for that;P.
    Here is my task, which I still have no exact idea that how to do it?
    Ive been told that this is our XML-RPC request is something like this
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <methodCall>
       <methodName>examples.getStateName</methodName>
       <params>
          <param>
             <value><i4>41</i4></value>
             </param>
          </params>
       </methodCall>Reply will be something like this
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <methodResponse>
       <params>
          <param>
             <value><string>South Dakota</string></value>
             </param>
          </params>
       </methodResponse>and the language is JAVA.
    Now please tell me that, if I am using Java as my programming language and someone tells me all that I specified above, will the communication occur through java programms as all the tutorials specify?
    OR
    Do I need to send the simple XML file to the server and will receive another XML response file in return ?
    Another question
    If Java does every thing, then what is the use of giving XML request and response format?

    If Java does every thing, then what is the use of
    giving XML request and response format?Java does not do everything . Here is an illustrative example.
    You need to get information from the XYZ server in China and use it to calculate a formula. Once the formula is calculated, you need to send the calculation to a server in Denmark.
    The server in China is a .NET application.
    The server in Denmark is a Perl application.
    Your server in Kuwait is written in Java.
    You send the XML request to the .NET application.
    The .NET application processes the request and sends you an XML response.
    Your server then does something with the response and sends a second XML request to Denmark.
    The Perl application in Demark processes your request.

  • Sun 7410 XML/RPC Java client

    Hi,
    Trying to make use of the XML/RPC which gives through the CLI on Sun 7410.
    raw => Make raw XML-RPC calls
    Again on raw I don't see any commands
    ss_sun:raw> help
    Subcommands that are valid in this context:
    help [topic] => Get context-sensitive help. If [topic] is specified,
    it must be one of "builtins", "commands", "general",
    "help" or "script".
    show => Show information pertinent to the current context
    done => Finish operating on "raw"
    ss_sun:raw>
    I have written a sample java code and using the jar file tried to run.
    But some basic thing I am missing could you please help anyone on it.
    The command I want to execute the command status show.
    I tried many way but I could not do it
    The client code is
    import java.util.Vector;
    import org.apache.xmlrpc.XmlRpcClient;
    public class TestClient {
    public static void main( String args[] ) throws Exception {
    XmlRpcClient client = new XmlRpcClient( "https://x.y.z.a:215/" );
    client.setBasicAuthentication("login", "passwd");
    Vector params = new Vector();
    // params.addElement( "raw" );
    // params.addElement( "status" );
    params.addElement( "show" );
    Object result = client.execute( "status", params );
    if ( result != null )
    System.out.println( "Successfully done." );
    I am using xmlrpc-1.1.jar
    Any help on it I appriciate.

  • Code alteration - Basic problem or XML-RPC?

    I'm trying to alter the following client/server code to create an XML-RPC such that when the client offers an argument eg ?John? then the result of the method call returned to the client would be ?John*John? rather than the result of the equation currently shown.
    I'm not sure if it's just my lack of knowledge or something in the basic data types in XML-RPC
    Any help much appreciated.

    cause of the error:
    After some extensive research on the web, it is found that that you are using an UTF-8 encoded file with byte-order mark (BOM). Java doesn't handle BOMs on UTF-8 files properly, making the three header bytes appear as being part of the document. UTF-8 files with BOMs are commonly generated by tools such as Window's Notepad. This is a known bug in Java, but it still needs fixing after almost 8 years...
    There are some hexadecimal character at the begining of the file, which is giving error"content not allowed in prolog". No solution is provided for this till now.
    Example: suppose your file start with <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>. you will see this in a editor. But if you open this file with any hexadecimal editor you will find some junk character in the start of the file.that is causing the problem
    solution:
    1) convert your file into a string and then read the file from the forst character that in my case the first character will be "<".so the junk character will not be there in the string and then again convert it into a file.
    2) some people are able to solve this problem by changing the "utf-8" to "utf-16". remember only in some case. some times this problem also exits in "utf-16" file.
    3) some are able to solve this problem by changing the LANG to US.en.
    4) If the first three bytes of the file have hexadecimal values EF BB BF then the file contains a BOM.so you can also handle by your own.
    5)Download a hexadecimal editor and remove the BOM.
    6) In case you are not able to think furthe then please to more research in internet may be you find some other solution to this problem. But These solution are some type of hack not exactly a solution.

    Hi everybody,
    I m new in developing web service.
    I am using NetBeans IDE 4.1 EA2 for developing web service.
    I have created a sample jaxrpc web service. When i build project it gives me error that:taskdef class com.sun.xml.rpc.tools.ant.Wscompile cannot be found.
    This error is contain in the file build-impl.xml which is referred by build.xml file.
    netbeans ide uses ant tool for compiling, building & deploying web service.
    All the xml files are automatically generated by netbeans ide.
    Please help me with this...
    Thanx in advance..
    Nirav Patel.

    You'll need to add jaxrpc-impl.jar to your
    classpath.
    You can find it under %JWSDP_HOME%\jaxrpc\lib
    If you haven't got JWSDP then try
    http://java.sun.com/webservices/downloads/webservicesp
    ack.htmlhello...
    i want to add jaxepc-impl.jar to classpath.
    i got the same problem.
    i check the user variable c:\sun\jwsdp-1.6\jwsdp_shared\bin;c:\sun\jwsdp-1.6\jwsdp_shared\bin
    have been there.
    but still the same error appear in the netbeans.
    i hope can't get the one-by-one steps guidelines from u.

  • Provider com.sun.xml.rpc.client.ServiceFactoryImpl not found

    I'm working on a Java Aplication and when I run the Application with Jdeveloper 11 I get this error
    javax.xml.rpc.ServiceException: Provider com.sun.xml.rpc.client.ServiceFactoryImpl not found
    When I run the Application with Jdeveloper 10.1.3 and it's works fine.
    What is the cause?
    thanks

    You may wish to compare the jar files referenced in both versions of JDeveloper, I did a quick Google search and found the following page which lists the .jar files that contain this class:
    http://javacio.us/search?q=com%2Fsun%2Fxml%2Frpc%2Fclient%2FServiceFactoryImpl+more%3Ajar_files&inline=true

    Hi Forum:
    i want to explain you my problem i created a webservice with JDeveloper 10.1.3, and run perfectly but when i want to run it in another IDE i copied the codes to a another IDE and run perfectly in a simple java project in my different IDE but when i putted the code in a web application in another web server differente to the oracle i got this error message
    vax.xml.rpc.ServiceException: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.sun.xml.rpc.client.ServiceFactoryImpl ------------------------- Loader Info ------------------------- ClassLoader name:
    i dont know whats happening and is so strange because i make one simple java project in eclipse and i copied the codes and works fine, but in a web application i cant run it.
    I also founded it the jar to this class com.sun.xml.rpc.client.ServiceFactoryImpl
    but doesnt work
    Can somebody help me, please?.. i really need it..
    thnks

    It usually means that a JAR in which the class file resides is not included in the web-app or is not on the classpath. Had the same problem with the last Eclipse/WebLogic project where JAR files, in which class files resided on which other class files were dependent, were missing.

  • Sun's jax-rpc V.S Apache XML-RPC

    Anyone can enlighten me with the differences between these two? which one is better?

    I too am interested in the opinions of this post. After doing the research I see that for ease of implementation, it looks like XML-RPC is easier/faster to implement, however generates overhead through the creation of the servers to run such. On the JAX-RPC side, I find it not quite as easy to implement, and instead of it's own server it generates a full-fledged web service.
    After looking through these it appears to me that if you want to use one of these for standard RPCs than it would be best to stick to the more mature java.rmi implementations; and if you want to create webservices, jax-rpc definitely helps.
    Am I correct in saying this or am I missing another side of things as well?
    I would enjoy seeing other's opinions of such.

  • Package javax.xml.rpc does not exist

    Hi, I'm sure this is probably a basic error, which one of you Java gurus can solve instantly. I haven't used Java since 2001 and my development machine didn't even have a JDK installed until this morning!
    I'm trying to create a Java client for my web service, it's COM/ASP on IIS before you ask how I did it without using Java...
    Basically, I've installed J2SE v1.4.2_02, and also WSDP jwsdp-1.3, and I'm using the tutorial example at:
    http://java.sun.com/webservices/docs/1.3/tutorial/doc/JAXRPC5.html#wp79973 to create a dynamic proxy client. I assume this is what I need to do to access an existing web service?
    I've copied and pasted the code into my editor and saved it as HelloClient.java. I will change the URL/URI, service name, port, etc. later on.
    Now, at the cmd prompt...
    D:\source\DCIS\sdk\java\dynamicproxy>javac HelloClient.java
    HelloClient.java:4: package javax.xml.rpc does not exist
    import javax.xml.rpc.Service;
    ^
    HelloClient.java:5: package javax.xml.rpc does not exist
    import javax.xml.rpc.JAXRPCException;
    ^
    HelloClient.java:6: package javax.xml.namespace does not exist
    import javax.xml.namespace.QName;
    ^
    HelloClient.java:7: package javax.xml.rpc does not exist
    import javax.xml.rpc.ServiceFactory;
    I expect this is something to do with environment variables:
    PATH=C:\WINNT\system32;
    C:\WINNT;C:\WINNT\System32\Wbem;
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDK\Bin\.;
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDK\Bin\WinNT\.;
    d:\j2sdk1.4.2_02\bin\;
    d:\jwsdp-1.3\jwsdp-shared\bin\;
    d:\jwsdp-1.3\apache-ant\bin\
    CLASSPATH=.;
    Is there something I need to set in my classpath for this?
    I know the tutorial suggests using Ant to build the example, but as far as I can tell that uses Tomcat, and I only want to build a client application! There must be a way to get around this...
    TIA for any help you give me!

  • XML Forms show raw xml after transport

    Hallo experts,
    at the moment I am working to set up a SAP Enterprise Portal 7.4. I was able to export KM content from our old 7.0 portal.
    The only problem i am experiencing is that xml forms, that I exported and imported through standard KM export / import, are showing as raw xml.
    The forms are available in forms builder and I also generated a preview (compiled the form) for each form and saved after that.
    There are no errors in the log that point me in a direction, so please help.
    Do you have any ideas what I am missing?
    Best regards,
    André

    Hi Zlatin,
    -> 1
    By Default identic properties queries are connected by an 'OR'.
    Please have a look into the documentation for further info.

    -> Search Options
    So far it's not possible to connect two identic proerties by an 'AND' within the standard.
    You can preset a search filter via the relevant Search Option Set.

  • Java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javax/xml/rpc/Service

    Hi,
    I have created client stubs for a webservice using axis wsdl2java tool. When I try calling these stubbed methods from JUnit tests, they are working fine but when I try to execute the jar (it is a swing) I get the following exception:

    Regrdas,
    Kundan

    1. Build jar file with MAINFEST.MF and Export of Eclipse , which has content:
    suppose in folder:
    c:\client.jar ( client of web service )
    c:\contrib/lib/ axis apis
    Main-Class: com.MainClassName
    Class-Path: contrib\axis\jaxrpc.jar contrib\axis\activation.jar con
    trib\axis\axis.jar contrib\axis\axis.jar contrib\axis\commons-disco
    very.jar contrib\axis\wsdl4j.jar contrib\axis\saaj.jar contrib\axi
    s\soap.jar contrib\axis\commons-logging.jar contrib\axis\log4j.jar
    contrib\axis\mail.jar
    2. build jar with ant: make sure the their are at least one blank between
    values of Class-Path.
              <jar destfile="../Client/client.jar" >
                   <fileset dir="${build.dir}"/>
              <manifest>
              <attribute name="Built-By" value="${user.name}"/>
                   <attribute name="Main-Class" value="com.MainClass"/>
              <attribute name="Class-Path" value=" contrib\axis\jaxrpc.jar contrib\axis\activation.jar .. "/>
              </manifest>
              </jar>
    3. If you haven't pack you class file in jar, create a bat to set CLASSPATH
    exactly to all jars.
    Hope this helps

  • Sun 7410 networking

    Hi,
    I've been given a Sun 7410 to add to my company's infrastructure to provide NFS and iSCSI protocols. Not really having much experience with clustered storage heads I'm looking for some tips, validation, or just someone to tell me I'm wrong on how I think I should set this up. I've searched around Sun documentation for best practice guides but not found anything.
    The 7410 I have got is a pair of heads with a single disk shelf at the moment. Each head only has its 4 gigE network ports which I'll be connecting to the network. The network comprises a pair of stacked switches through which all clients will be able to connect.
    My thoughts on how to network this was to have ports nge0 and nge1 on both heads bonded using LACP and plugged into the first switch. Ports nge2 and nge3 would then be bonded with LACP and connected to switch 2. To allow multipath access to the iSCSI network I would give and address to the nge0/1 aggregate and another IP to the nge2/3 aggregate.
    This should mean that should one switch fail, multipath on a client will handle this and route traffic through the other switch/IP.
    Does this sound sane or is there a better way I should be approaching this?
    Any help would be very gratefully received.
    Cheers,
    Iain

    I can help you with this, but would like a few more details:
    You mention that you switches are stacked. Does this mean that they are operating as a single entity or simply linked to each other. It will make a difference in the network configuration.
    Can you provide the number and type of read and write log disks?
