Sun Java Classes  in Jars?

Hi,
Do we require to put all sun classes required by application like JButton, JTextField etc in Jars, that would be downloaded by JWS. I dont have such jars now and I dont see my application running.

No you don't need to.
One way to check if you have included all files into the jar is to run your application from the jar.
java -jar myapplication.jar
of course you have to add manifest file into jar.

  • Java classes in Jar and Cab files

    Hello all,
    Our product supply java classes in Jar and Cab files that the browser downloads each time.
    The files are big and it takes a long time.
    Do you know of a way to make the cab/jar files be copied in to the user computer and that the browser would know to download files again only if there is a new version (otherwise take it from the local computer)
    Please help me
    Tamg

    I think I've seen an option for this with manifest files (or was it something that had to do with the java plug-in). There was something about the version and only download a new version if it was newer than the one on your local computer. This version thing is something you define in the manifest file at least. Take a look at jar and manifest files, there might be something there.

  • Help me which JNDIFactory to use to access EJB from a java class of JAR

    I am confused in understanding the different JNDI factories
    RMIInitialContextFactory, ApplicationInitialContextFactory and ApplicationClientInitialContextFactory
    And the different namespaces like global, container local and component local.
    Especially is there any relationship between the JNDI factories and the namespaces?
    Or are they related to the deployment descriptors.
    Because in application specific deployment descriptors (orion-ejb-jar.xml), we just map the JNDI location with the object (or its reference from ejb-jar.xml). We dont specify it can be accessed from this factory or that.
    Shall we access an EJB from using any JNDI factory?
    Specifically, I am stuck with what Factory to use to access an EJB from a Java class in a library (jar). The JAR is packaged with the EAR which contains the EJB Jar that I am trying to access.
    THANK YOU

    Ed,
    As Robin said, I think you need code similar to this:
    Context c = new InitialContext();
    Object o = c.lookup("java:comp/env/Name");where Name is the name of your EJB as it appears in the "ejb-jar.xml"
    deployment descriptor XML file.
    Good Luck,
    Avi.

  • Can we send java classes instead jar files through web start?

    no - not possible in jnlp specification.

  • Running Jar Files created in Sun Java Studio

    Hi everyone,
    I am still trying to explore the functionalities (especially as regards deployment issues) of this robust IDE. However I do have a problem. I have developed a very basic program that connects to a database (MSSQL) using Java Studio 8. However after building the jar file, if I try to execute the jar file it gives me this message
    java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver.....
    But all goes well within the IDE and it runs well if I use my notepad or vi editor,compile it from the command line and execute the generated class file. The classpath have been set for all the necessary jdbc jar files.
    Any Help Will Be Appreciated

    1. Sun Java Studio Enterprise 8 is based on NetBeans 4.1 which does not provide direct support for packing an application. One alternative you may want to consider is to use NetBeans 5.0 (http://www.netbeans.info/downloads/download.php?type=5.0) or JSE 8.1 which is based on NB5.0 and which is now in beta (http://developers.sun.com/prodtech/javatools/jsenterprise/downloads/index.jsp).
    You may want to refer to http://www.netbeans.org/kb/articles/javase-deploy.html for packing and deploying a standalone application is NB5.0 or JSE8.1.
    2. Using JSE8, you may want to try copying all the library jars (including database drivers) used by your application to your projects dist directory manually and then package them all into one jar.
    3. You should not have to know the exact location of the jdbc jar on the client machine. How are you instantiating the driver in your code? Are you using 'Class.forName()'? If so, java should be able to pick up the driver from the classpath. (Pl. ref to http://forum.sun.com/jive/thread.jspa?forumID=122&threadID=62696, which may be of help).

  • How to bundle java help class into jar file ?

    Hi, all,
    I have some package in my project, with which I have a java help jar file as classpath, when I run my project, I need the jh.jar file in directory /jar/jh.jar.
    Now, I bundled all my class packages into a jar file, my.jar, together with the /jar directory. When i run my jar file with command:
    java -jar my.jar
    It tells me couldn't find javahelp class.
    What shall I do? How can I create my jar file with the jh.jar?
    Thanks in advance.

    I think you'd be better off just adding the jh.jar as
    a classpath argument and running it like that:
    java -classpath /myjavalibdir/jh.jar -jar myjar.jar
    ...otherwise you're stepping into redistribution of
    binary issues licensing-wise. That won't work either; when you run java with the -jar option, it ignores both the -classpath option and the CLASSPATH environment variable. However, it will see jh.jar automatically if you put it in the <path-to-java>/jre/lib/ext directory. But for distribution purposes, it might be simpler just to combime the contents of jh.jar into myjar.jar (if you use Ant, its <jar> task makes that very easy). Or, you can just run it this way:java -classpath myjar.jar;jar/jh.jar MyMainClassBTW, I don't think redistribution is a problem; otherwise how anyone even use JavaHelp?

    This thinlet class should be in the thinlet.jar that I have added the directory to the path, the directory and jarfile name to the System CLASSPATH and it couldn't see it. So finally I tried putting the thinlet.jar in the same directory to no avail. I've searched the web for some time an cannot find anything that specifically speaks to compiling a program that has parent classes in a Jar.
    Any help is definitely appreciated.

    Any help is definitely appreciated.You just still haven't provided the jar in the classpath, or you're not using the right class name. Is the class really named thinlet.Thinlet? Or are you thinking "import thinlet.*" means to import all classes in a jar named thinlet.jar? Because the latter is not true. You need to import classes, not jar file names.

  • Custom Fault Policy java class is not able to access mediator.jar file

    Hi,
    I am trying to implement the custom java class for mediator fault handling. However when this class is invoked its not able to access the "oracle.tip.mediator.common.error.recovery.MediatorRecoveryContext" class during run time (which exists in mediator.jar). However its able to access all the other imported class files which exists in other library files.
    Do we need to add mediator.jar to the weblogic classpath manually or should we place that jar file in some location in the server ?? Its currently residing in the path -- /app/oracle/product/soastg/11.1.0/SOA/soa/modules/oracle.soa.mediator_11.1.1/mediator.jar. I tried to copy the same jar into domain lib and admin lib path but there was no luck.
    Any input on this will be helpful.
    Thanks,
    Ramesh

    Hi Ramesh,
    Try out the following
    1) Copy mediator.jar from SOA_HOME>/soa/modules/oracle.soa.mediator_11.1.1 to <MW_HOME>//soa/modules/oracle.soa.ext_11.1.1/classes
    2) Goto <MW_HOME>//soa/modules/oracle.soa.ext_11.1.1/classes and run the following command:
    a. jar -xvf mediator.jar
    3) Now remove the jar file, i.e., mediator.jar from classes folder.
    4) Restart the server.

  • How to reference JAR files in stored java class ?

    I don't know if it's exactly the right place to post this, I hope it could be :-)
    Here is the problem :
    I developped a Java class with some public static functions.
    To store this class in Oracle, I use the SQL below :
    CREATE OR REPLACE AND COMPILE JAVA SOURCE NAMED "SYSTEM"."MYCLASS" AS
    // ... (Java source code) ...
    This works pretty well with simple functions, but we need to import specific class. Here is for MQSeries : import com.ibm.mq.*;
    When using the SQL to put the Java class, we get an error message saying that the class wasn't correctly compiled. It seems it's about the import.
    The question is : how to proceed to reference the JAR files needed so that my class can correctly import the needed packages ?
    Thanks in advance,

    Here is a simple example of code :
    CREATE OR REPLACE AND COMPILE JAVA SOURCE NAMED "SYSTEM"."TEST" AS
    import com.ibm.mq.*;
    public class Test {
    public Test() {
    try{
    MQQueueManager manager = new MQQueueManager("");
    catch(Exception e){
    In this way, I get message "Warning : Java create with compilation errors".
    When I comment the line of the MQQueueManager object creation, it is well created.
    Any ideas ?
