[Sun One ME Javadoc]
Hi!
I'm generating Javadocs thanks to Sun One ME, but I encounter
this sort of problems:
C:\MobileApplications\sampledir\MyWork\Midlet.java:9: package javax.microedition.midlet does not exist
import javax.microedition.midlet.*;
I don't encouter problems when I compile my programm
neither while loading the .jad file.
So, what's the problem with the javadoc tool?
Is there a path to specify, settings to make?
Thanks,
RocJap
PS: I'm not sure my post should be here,
sorry if it is not in the right place :)
Hi there,
Just to let you all know that I've figured it out!(Thanks to Dougs advice above) To get the J2ME class files recognised, you need to first go into the J2MEWTK wireless toolkit folder, and into the 'lib' subfolder, and unzip the 'midpapi.zip' file to a convienient place,...we'll assume its called 'mylib' for now...
afterwards, navigate through the command prompt to the source files...,
and type:
javadoc -classpath x:\mylib\ -d html -breakiterator *.java
....................^^ your path of unzipped midp api!
voila! everything should work ok, if anyone experiences something similar to me, follow my example, or let me know!
cheers,
Jassen

Please HELP!!!!!!!! Mount a File System in Sun One Studio
Hi,
I've been trying to get my Java Documentation (on my hard drive...v.1.4.2) to work with Sun One Studio 5 update 1. I have been completely unsuccessful at mounting the documentation so that I could get reference on specific classes. Can somebody PLEASE tell me how I can mount the Javadoc correctly so that it will work and integrate with Sun One Studio 5?!?!?
Thank you very much in advance!!The JDK documentation is automatically picked up for code completion. For explicit JavaDoc visibility in the Studio, select Tools | JavaDoc Manager and mount the api directory of the JDK documentation root.

K. Senthil KumarHi anandkumar,
I belive this issue can be resolved by changing the Query proprties for the perticular field.
Kindly check the Field proerties in query designer and ensure that Text is enabled ather than Key.
__Field property check up:__Go to query designer->click onn the field-> Right hand side in properties click on display tab-> select Text in drop down menu of Display as tab.
FURTHER CHECK UP: check the master data avaiulability for the perticular info object, if masterdata is not available, do the text data for txt data availability in report level.
Hope this helps you!!
Best Regards,

Import netscape.ldap.* ; is it not supported in Sun one LDAP server
import netscape.ldap.*;
is the above line not supported n Sun One LDAP directory Server
if that is the case what should i do
wenever i compile my code the error tat comes up is : package netscap.ladp does not exists
need help immediately
my code is as follows
import netscape.ldap.*;
import java.util.*;
* Simple search program to experiment with filters
public class SearchFilter {
* Do a subtree search using a specified filter
* @parm args host, port, authDN, password, baseDN, filter
public static void main(String[] args) {
if (args.length != 6) {
System.out.println("Usage: java FilterSearch " + "<host> <port> " + "<authdn> <password> " + "<baseDN> <filter>");
System.out.println("Example:");
System.out.println(" java FilterSearch " + "localhost 389 " + "\"\" \"\" " + "\"o=airius.com\" " + "\"(|(cn=sam*)(cn=b*))\"");
System.exit(1);
}Couldn't you download the netscape.ldap package (iPlanet LDAP SDK) and put its jars in your app classpath?
The suggested way to replace netscape.ldap package is to use only JNDI calls, but maybe they can not fulfill all your needs.
By the way, you can get the source code for that package in Mozilla.org site.
(Note: if you are using Netscape LDAP SDK for parsing/generating ASN.1 streams including X.509 certificates, try using BouncyCastle instead of netscape.ldap.ber.stream package - I had to modify several classes from Netscape's package that is not meant to handle certificates, but LDAP streams...) -

when configuring multiple Ldap directories, There are a number of prerequisities that you need to
consider.
For example, One prerequisite for Multi domains is that logon IDs must be unique across mutliple LDAP datasources. This will cause issue if duplicate IDs exist.
Please see the following Documentation and notes for more information on this.
Examples of Data Source Configuration Files - Identity Management - SAP Library
Example: Configuration of Multiple LDAP Data Sources - Identity Management - SAP Library
1618342 - Multiple LDAP Datasources - Active Directories where logon IDs
are not unique
762419 - Multi-Domain Logon Using Microsoft Active Directory
Please have a look at the above notes which documet this and also tells
you what to do in these situations.

SUN ONE Ldap - Default value is not getting displayed
Hello,
I have created an attribute in slapd.user_at.conf and it is associated in slapd.user_oc.conf.
The default value for the attribute has been given in the SUN ONE Ldap. But it is not getting displayed in our application.
Can any one help me in this for this issue.
Regards,
K. Senthil KumarI assume that you are referring to a brand new field on the second step that was not on the form of the first step. If this is the case, then you should put the field in a hidden block of the first steps form. Default values and Auto-population from shells/single record BPs only occur of the create step, even if they are not used on that step. As long as you put them on the create step (even in a hidden block) they should initialize.

This is a known incompatibility, described at:
http://support.solarmetric.com/Ticket/Display.html?id=14082
Can you try the workarounds listed at:
http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jsp?forum=136&thread=499803&tstart=0&trange=15
and let us know if it works?

Problem instaliing sun one LDAP server on windows server 2008 r2
Hi all ,
I am trying to install Ldap server (Sun ONE Directory Server) on windows server 2008
I am using apache-tomcat-7.0.28 and java jdk1.7.0_05
I am following this manual for installing :
https://blogs.oracle.com/marginNotes/entry/installing_directory_server_enterprise_edition1
I have a problem with the cacao agent and how to install it .
I've got this error message :
c:\Program Files\Sun\dsee7\bin>dsccsetup cacao-reg

#### Cannot create service for instance: [cacao.instance.name].
#### Cannot perform firstime inialisation and configuration.
## Exit code is 1
Failed to configure Cacao.
I stuck and with no other solutions . I hope if you could to help with this issue .
i will glad to know if there is any other ways to install this specific Ldap server ,
Thanks,
AlonYou most likely skipped the step of starting the installed server prior to trying to access admin URL. Please check this document:
http://docs.sun.com/source/817-1830-10/win.html
Relevant section is:
You can start the Administration Server in either of the following ways:
# Select Start Menu -> Programs -> Sun ONE Web Server, and choose Start Web Server Administration Server.
# From the Control Panels Services item.

Crystal Reports XI and Sun One 6.1 web server SP 5 Error finding JNDI name
I am trying to create a Crystal Reports XI report in a JSP using Sun One 6.1 Web server sp 5.
At this point I am getting the error Error finding JNDI name on Sun One
The application will run on Netbeans/Tomcat
I have done the following:
I edited CRConfig.xml
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<CrystalReportEngine-configuration>

<DataDriverCommon>
<JavaDir>C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_10\bin</JavaDir>

<JDBCClassName>oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver</JDBCClassName>
<JDBCUserName>lab_ro</JDBCUserName>
<JNDIURL></JNDIURL>

</JDBC>
I created a report using JDBC (JNDI) connection and have the JNDI Connection set to the name of DATA.
The report works just fine in Crystal Reports.
Then in Netbeans I created an application and it runs in the Tomcat part of Netbeans
In context.xml I have:
<Context path="/BOEnterpriseTest3">

driverClassName="oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver" url="jdbc:oracle:thin:@10.10.10.10:1521:dev"
username="theuserid" password="thepassword" maxActive="20" maxIdle="10" maxWait="-1"/>
</Context>
In web.xml I have

<param-name>crystal_image_uri</param-name>
<param-value>crystalreportviewers11</param-value>
</context-param>

Creating a connection pool using Oracle 10g, Sun ONE Application Serve 8.1
Has any one succesfully configured Oracle 10g to work with Sun ONE Application Server 8.1 on Windows 2000 server service pack 4? I am embarking on a new J2EE project and I need to configure it as soon as possible.
I haven't done it myself on that particular service pack, but I don't see why it should be any different than configuring a connection pool on other vanilla win2k/other OSes.
Would you please try and let this forum know?
thanks. -
Creating a connection pool using SQL Server 2000, Sun ONE Application Serve
Has any one succesfully configured SQL Server 2000 to work with Sun ONE Application Server 7 on Windows 2000 server service pack 4? I am embarking on a new J2EE project and I need to configure it as soon as possible.
The problem I am having is that, when I ping the data souce name, there is a connection error.
I have set the data source name and other details as follows:
Under JDBC, I have set the parameters for the connection pool as follows:
Data Source Name: com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver

In the JVM settings page, I have set the prefix class path as follows for the location of the Microsoft JDBC
drivers that I downloaded as follows:
c:\microsoft\drivers/lib/msbase.jar
c:\microsoft\drivers/lib/msutil.jar
c:\microsoft\drivers/lib/mssqlserver.jar
Under JVM Options, there is a strange setting which I don't understand: perhaps this is the cause of the
connction error?
-Djdbc.drivers=com.pointbase.jdbc.jdbcUniversalDriver
Please help????I'm in a similar boat...
Trying to setup AS7 JDBC and followed the instructions on the link you provided and get the following exception. I kept the case the same, thinking 'setpassword" was incorrect, so I tried changing the property to "Password", but get the same exception but it points to "setPassword" instead.

Slow Response Sun ONE 6.1 SP3 Win 2003
My Sun ONE web server is processing my JSP pages very quickly when serving one session at a time. However when there are 4 or more active sessions, it slows right down. Response time goes from 2 seconds (1 active session) to 60 seconds (multiple active sessions) for a single JSP page. I've been running the performance monitor to see if I can notice anything, but nothing seems to stand out. I have tried manipulating the Keep Alive settings and the Performance settings within the Magnus Editor but there hasn't been a noticable improvement.
I've recently upgraded to SP4 to see if this solved my problem, but there was no imporvement.
This server is an HP DL380 with dual 2.8GHz Xeon processors & 2 Gigs of RAM. There is a lot of available disk space. I'm running Windows 2003 and it's up to date with all the latest patches.
Anyone have any ideas or experienced this before?
I've attached the output from my performance monitor:

Thanks...The JSP's are simply Hello World JSP's (however I created these type of JSP's for testing and they do respond slowly as well when these are multiple sessions).
These JSP functioned fine on iPlanet 6.0 SP1 (JDK 1.2.2) without any slow response on Win2K and inferior hardware. -
Using Linux/Red Hat/Intel for Sun ONE/Java Directory Server
Anybody have any experience of this? We're looking to get off AIX, and Total Cost of Ownership for using Solaris/Sparc versus Linux/Intel is very similar.
The decider will be if no-one is using Linux as a platform for Sun ONE/Java Directory Server....
Any feedback would be appreciated....We run Directory 5.1 in production on Solaris/Sparc, but I've tried it with sucess on Red Hat 7.2 on Intel. We have not been able to get it to work on Red Hat Enterprise 2.1 or 3.0. The main problem has been that the administration server fails on startup. Obvious the lack of support for the latest enterprise class Linux is a huge drawback. At this point I've decided to stay on Solaris/Sparc until Red Hat comes out with its own release of Netscape's Directory. When that happens we're going to evaluate whether to move the whole environment to Red Hat. The Sun and Netscape servers are almost identical in terms of features and performance, but having an open source version that can run on less expensive hardware would be a terrific win for us.
