Sunray 2 not recognize usb keyboard/mice

I have a Sun V240 server, and a X4100 server with static ip address connected via a small swith. I am getting tired of the racket so I figured I would connect them via a Sunray 2.
From what I've read in the forums I've read there is a pop-up configuration screen on the Sunray client which can be used to set ip configuration. I've tried to access it by putlling out the power switch and pressing Stop-M using a usb keyboard that came with old Sun workstation; but, nothings happens. I notice that when I press caps lock or num lock keys the lights don't turn on. I know the keyboard is good because I can connect to the X4100 using its USB port, and I've tried another keyboard as well.
I think the Sunray is functioning because I can see the Sun screen with a number like 00144FA2 .. and <--> 100F with 21 on the lower right of a floating panel.
Could I be having a USB problem? I've read the Sunray specs and it uses USB 1.1 ports? Has anyone experience this?
It would be nice if at least I could have the terminal react to the keyboard or show a mouse pointer.

The Stop-M local menu only works when the Sun Ray has been loaded with firmware that provides that feature. The standard firmware does not offer any local configuration capability.
If you hit Stop-V you should get an informational pop-up that shows you the unit's MAC address, IP address and firmware version. Only firmware versions that begin with "GUI" provide the local menu. If your unit has standard firmware then it must get all of its startup configuration from the network.
The '21' state means that it's waiting for a DHCP response from the network. (See http://docs.sun.com/source/820-3768/t-s.html#50417702_pgfId-1001054 for an explanation of the on-screen progress panels.) The easiest way to proceed is to set up the Sun Ray Server Software on one or both of your Solaris systems. As part of doing that you can elect to run a DHCP server on one or both of those machines to issue an IP address and Sun Ray-specific information (like the address of a Sun Ray server) to the unit as it starts up.
If you haven't already decided how you're going to have the Sun Ray play on your network -- whether it's going to rely on DHCP to get onto the network and find a server, or a mix of DHCP and TFTP, or some locally configured info -- then a good place to start is Chapter 7 of the Sun Ray Admin Guide. It explains the various options. (That chapter was written before TFTP-able config and local config were added, and those topics have been more or less bolted on to the end of the chapter instead of being properly integrated into the main text, but it's still a decent guide.)
If you decide you do want to use local configuration then you'll have to set up enough DHCP and TFTP to get the GUI firmware into the unit.

  • After sleep, retina MacBook Pro (Mid 2014) does not recognize usb connected mouse movement

After sleep, retina MacBook Pro (Mid 2014, on 10.9.4) does not recognize usb connected mouse movement. I have tried a generic usb mouse and my Razer Deathadder usb mouse. Both mice work before sleep; but after sleep, the computer no longer recognizes mouse movement while still recognizing the mouse buttons when pressed. Any idea why this is occurring?

  • TS2570 iMac does not recognize wifi keyboard and track pad... cursor stays in top left corner under apple ?...

iMac does not recognize wifi keyboard and track pad... cursor stays in top left corner under apple ?...

    Phillip,
I had this problem recently with a 3-year old Mac Pro intel, which was eventually replaced by Apple due to myriad other problems. When the frozen mouse happened, there was nothing I could do. Very frustrating to have the screen boot and the cursor is up there stuck, on the top left corner of the screen. Frozen. I called support several times. They were amazed. At one point they had me buy a cheap USB mouse (I was using a wireless mouse from Logitech and they thought there might be some kind of conflict). The USB mouse didn't work, either. Neither did an Apple mouse when I went out to buy one.
I ended up driving 70 miles to take the Mac to an Apple Store. I think they reinstalled the (Leopard) system in some secret way, because when the mouse was frozen so was everything else and I couldn't open the disk drive to put the OSX disk in there.
Why I'm here right now is that the same thing happened today with my NEW 3-month-old REPLACEMENT MAC PRO using its brand new wireless mouse, and I was hoping to find some insight. Again, a frozen cursor after the boot. Same top-left corner of the screen. Unlike you, when I click the mouse nothing happens -- no drop down.
Luckily, when I hard-rebooted by holding the button in, the mouse cursor came back. This time. Now I am afraid to turn my computer off. Been there done that before. Anyone have suggestions?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi ,
Do you remember if you  have installed some software prior to this issue?
    Delete programs you never use.
If the issue reoccurs in Clean Boot, but works fine in Safe Mode, the cause may be the disabled hardware drivers. You may narrow down the
    causes in Device Clean Boot.
    Device Clean Boot
    =================
    1. Click Start, type "devmgmt.msc" (without quotation marks) in the Search bar and press Enter.
    2. Expand "Sound, video and game controllers".
    3. Right click on your sound card and then click "Properties.
    4. In the dropdown menu of Device Usage, please choose "Do not use this device (disable)" and click OK.
    5. Please use the same method to disable other dubious hardware such as: internal modem, network card and CD-R drive. Please note some devices
such as video adapter are not available to be disabled.

  • Premiere Pro CS6 does not recognize USB PnP Sound device connected  to iMac OSX even when activated in Audio MIDI setup. The iMac(i-7 processor,16 GB)   is working with this USB device without any problem

Premiere Pro CS6 does not recognize the USB PnP Sound device in order to produce a commentary sound track. The USB device has been activated on the iMac OSX by using the Audio-MIDI-setup and is working correctly with the iMac. When opening > presets >audio hardware I can only select between >standard >out  integrated > digital input integrated >microphone integrated. USB PnP is not indicated at this place.
With the built-in microphone of the iMac I can produce the commentary sound track, but I would prefer a stand alone version for better quality.
Your help is highly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Annemarie!

I'm using a Logitech Webcam Pro 9000 (which has a microphone on the side). I have several other devices plugged into separate USB slots: a keyboard, a mouse, my iPhone, and a Roland keyboard midi controller.
I've considered that maybe the webcam/mic combo is the culprit. If USB doesn't work at a constant speed, that could very well be causing the issue! The sound begins to lag badly sometimes when it's working properly, so that there's a multisecond delay between speaking and hearing my voice repeated back over the mic which is another sign that something is wrong. I've also caught it making a strange electronic sound during its "hang" time once it stops taking sound input correctly.
Maybe I should try to use line-in and forgo USB altogether then. I think I'd need a preamp and some sort of converter for that since the Mac Mini lacks a powered mic jack. I'm only a newbie musician so I've never set up such a system but it might be a better solution in the long run.
I'll check to see if it hangs before or after my computer enters suspend mode, that's a good suggestion too. Thank you for your help!

  • Boot camp will not recognize wireless keyboard/mouse - will they work with a 32bit version of Windows?

I have a new iMac 21.5" - 4GB ram, 3.60 GZ processor.  Installed bootcamp partition with Win 7 Pro 64 bit - it was sealed box.  Could not get it to recognize the bluetooth keyboard/mouse that came with the unit last Thursday.
From page 5 of the instructions, "What You Need" - The Keyboard and mouse or trackpad that came with your computer. (if they are not available use a USB keyboard and mouse.)
I did follow all the instructions for getting the drivers installed.  Went to all sources of info on the subject from Apple support, internet discussions and forums.  It seems that it is a common and seemingly unsolveable problem that Apple does not yet have a solution for.
The question - will the 32 bit Windows 7 Pro have the same problem?
    BruceM

You need 3.1 or better yet the drivers from Lion and Boot Camp 4.0
BC 2.x was only for Vista and XP
You don't actually "run" Boot Camp 2.x as much as partition with the Assistant, and install motherboard support drivers to Windows.
"I am USING Boot Camp 2.x"
    You're running Windows -- natively.

  • New Mac Mini will not recognize bluetooth keyboard

I just bought a new mac mini, and the apple keyboard.  I can see the welcome "Use english" screen, and I press ENTER on the keyboard but nothing happens!  I know the keyboard is not the problem becuase I tested it on my iPad and it worked.  I've un-paired it with my iPad and tried again and nothing happens.  The trackpad pointer is visible but it does not recognize a CLICK.....WHAT CAN I DO ????   (I don't have a wired keyboard or mouse to hook-up to it )

yeah, it works on my ipad with no problem.  I've re-booted too.  I'm thinking the only way is with a hard wired keyboard to get it booted.

  • Desktop Manager does not recognize USB Connection

I have installed the Desktop Manager for MAC (v1.0.2) on my MacBook Pro Snow Leopard10.6.3.
When I connect my Storm 9520 the Mac OS recognizes the media storage drives in the 'Finder'.  I can copy files to and from the device media using 'Finder' but the Desktop Manager does not recognize that the device is plugged into the USB (yes I have tried both USB connectors).

I have an 8310, Macbook Pro running OSX 10.6 and the BB desktop v 1.0.2 build 8.  It recently stopped recognizing the USB connection as well.  I was able to sync my BB with the MAC but can no longer do so.  The MAC mounts the BB and I can access the SD card.  What gives here?

Have you tried resetting the iPod.
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Next would be to place the iPod in recovery mode and then try to restore via iTunes. For recovery mode:
