rmiregistry, rmic and jar tools are now slave symlinks to these

This change was necessary because the rmiregistry, rmic and jar tools
installed by previous versions of libgcj conflicted with symlinks
installed by jpackage.org JVM packages.
This script was designed to be overridden by the supported RHEL3 JRE
packages, java-1.4.2-bea and java-1.4.2-ibm. It is installed as an
alternative symlink as /usr/bin/java. It will override a third-party
(non-RHEL3) JRE's java command if the JRE's bin directory is listed
after /usr/bin in PATH. In that case, it is recommended that the
third-party JRE's bin directory be listed first in PATH instead.

Did you actually issue "java ../netbeans-5.5.1/bin/netbeans" to your shell?
If you did, you started gnus java, hence the message about libgcj.
The command to issue is "prepare_system -s java, netbeans
There is a man page for prepare_system with some examples.

    # is shared between the front ends and back ends for this DM.

    # dm_bigsize
    # (UNIX only) Specifies the size of shared memory for "big" shared memory structures,
    # such as those used for large searches (those with more than 128 results)
    # or for PIN_FLDT_BUF fields larger than 4 KB.
Any other clues leads to resolve the issue helps.

  • OBIEE 11g Scheduler installation error on Linux box. Please help!

    Hello,
I'm trying to install OBIEE on a Linux box. The repository was created using a Windows PC on a separate Oracle database on another server.
I have four of the five OBI components running but I keep getting this error for the Scheduler.

I've checked the configuration and there is nothing wrong with it, plus I have checked connectivity from the weblogic server and the Linux server to this. Also I do not have Enterprise edition everything I do is at console level in Linux.
Please help. I've been trying to sort through this for a long time.
    Thanks.

    Becky,
You need not do any thing additional to have EM running in the OBI 11g instance. Although it is a deployed JEE application, if your Weblogic Server (WLS) is started and up and running then your EM Console should also be up and running.
You say that you are doing everything from the command line. So, start the Weblogic Server then navigate to http://< your server name> : 7001/console
If that comes up then go to
    http://<your server name>:7001/em
That is your EM Fusion Console and it should come up as well.
Don't mess with the XML file directly.

Oracle : Oracle server Enterprise Edition 9.2.0.8
We need this setup to match the other two 32bit linux DB server boxes so that we can use DB cloning and Transportable Tablespace feautres between these three linux machines.
Thanks in advance for your help.
PS: I did raise a request to support and waiting for the update.
    Thanks,
    Krishna Bussu

Thanks Girish. But all my findings says NO NO and NO.
    From http://www.oracle.com/technology/support/metalink/index.html
Certify - Product Version and Other Selections: Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition On Linux x86-64 (AMD64/EM64T)
General Notes For Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition On Linux x86-64 (AMD64/EM64T):
    Processor Chip Information:
Linux x86-64, support on AMD64/EM64T and Intel Processor Chips that adhere to the x86-64 architecture with supported Linux releases.
    "Running Oracle 32-bit on AMD64/EM64T (64-bit OS) is not supported . "
Oracle 32-bit running on AMD64/EM64T with a 32-bit OS is supported, refer to platform Linux x86 for more information on product availability.
Note: As Ivan confirmed EM64T is mark for Intel 64 (x86-64) processors.
Even the metalink Note: 182999.1 says...
    "A 32-bit application will work on both a 32-bit and 64-bit O/S, whereas a 64-bit application will only work on a 64-bit O/S."
    but the same articel says
"Note: These statements do not necessarily apply to Oracle on Windows O/S's, Itanium or AMD64/EM64T based Platforms. See Certify for specific information."
and then I got update from Support. Even they Say....
"No it is not suggested that you run Oracle at 32 bits for a Linux X86_64 platform. This would not be a good idea"
I guess I need to sit with my senior DBAs and SA tomorrow to find the path forward...
    Thanks all.
    Krishna Bussu.

  • Multiple AIA instances on same Linux box

    H,
Can multiple SOA instances be deployed on same linux box then with AIA on top of it.
Can some one pls answer this?
    Regards,
    Rakesh

    Yes you can but:
Each SOA installation must be in his own ORACLE_HOME directory.
Each AIA installation must be in his own ORACLE_HOME directory.
You must point to different databases. You can not have mulitple SOA schema's in one sinlge database.

I suggest trying to install a different version to confirm the error. Do you have SELinux enabled? It can cause weird errors. You can check the syslog /var/adm/messages to see if there were any SELinux errors.

  • 10.1.0.4.0 installation on linux

    Hi,
I want to perform backup check on 10.1.0.4 oracle enterprise edition on Linux box (32bit).
I'm not able to find download link for 10.1.0.4 from metalink.
Please give me exact download link for 10.1.0.4 including all patchsets.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Thanks for your reply.
We have 10.1.0.4 oracle version on machine1.
We need same 10.1.0.4 oracle version on machine2.
It means i want to perform fresh oracle installation on machine2.
What are all the steps need to be followed to achive 10.1.0.4.0 version?
I'm not sure on 10gR1 which one is base version.
Please need your suggestion and download link for this. The base release of 10.1 is *10.1.0.2*, first you need to Install this base release then on top of this you need to Install 10.1.0.4 patchset.
The base release software can be downloaded from http://edelivery.oracle.com and the patchset 10.1.0.4 can be downloaded from http://support.oracle.com as updated in my previous update, but to download this patchset you need to have a valid CSI number.
    For example to achive 10.2.0.4
    First step : 10.2.0.1.0 fresh install(base version)
2nd step : 10.2.0.4.0(patch set)Yes to achieve 10.2.0.4 you need to first Install base version and patchsets can be applied on top of base release.
Please follow instructions from README file of patchsets which you are applying.
    Hope its clear now :)
    thanks,

  • Problem in installing Agent10 on Linux box

    Hi,
I have tryed to install Agent10g on a linux box abd tryed to connect it to the OMS running on Windows XP. I choose the installation option agentDeploy option by running agentDownload.linux it worked fine by downloading all the files and used the silent installation option to install the Agent by running the command
    /u02/downloads/agentDownload10.2.0.2.0Oui/Disk1/runInstaller -ignoreSysPrereqs -waitforcompletion -force -responseFile /u02/downloads/agentDownload10.2.0.2.0Oui/agent_download.rsp -silent b_doDiscovery=TRUE b_startAgent=TRUE -sourceLoc http://ayz.xyz.com:4889/agent_download/10.2.0.2.0/linux/agent/stage/products.xml FROM_LOCATION=http://ayz.xyz.com:4889/agent_download/10.2.0.2.0/linux/agent/stage/products.xml -baseDir /u01/app/oracle/product/ CLUSTER_NODES={}
the above command executed fine and asked me to run root.sh file as "root" I did that and installation was successful, but I could not find anything in /uo1/app/oracle/product/ folder as I supposed to see instead i see a new OracleHomes folder in /scratch/OracleHomes/agent10g. I could not find any reason for this is there anything worng with my installation and if the installation was fine how can start the agent on Linux.
PLease let me know if am missing anything.
    thanks,
    Ashok chava.

    export ORACLE_HOME=/scratch/OracleHomes/agent10g
    emctl start agent
    or

  • PI7.0 Instalation on Linux box

    Hi all,
I want to install SAP PI7.0 on LINUX box. Can anyone direct me what are the steps need to do PI7.0 instalation
    Thanks&Regards,
    venkatk

    Hi Venkat,
You have to the following :
Post installation steps of installation guide
    SLD Post installation guide
    Config guide XI 3.0 SP18
I think in XI 7.0 you can run a template and it will do most of the post processing. And creating connection to SLD, like LCRSAPRFC and SAPSLDAPI, and all those steps are pretty much same.
    u can check this link:

  • How to create Dev, Test and UAT environment of OAS 10g on single Linux box

    Hi
According to Paul's forms/reports installation thread, i installed standalone versions of Forms & Reports (10.1.2.0.2)services on Linux suse 9. And it is working fine.
Now my next requirement is that i want to create three environment on my Linux box dev, test and UAT. this one which i have created before i am using that environment as dev.
Kindly provide me some direction that how can i create test and UAT environment on same machine which should point to different source files and databses.
    1. Do i need to install again standalone forms/reports services twice? if yes then how can i access them?
    2. Is there any setting in existing OAS configuration which can divert me to different sources and databases. i saw something like this somewhere
    http://oas.com:7777/forms90/f90servlet?config=UAT&userid=cg_am2/training@tardist
    bla bla bla.
    Please help.
    JM

    Hi
Yes if your server has the resources (CPU and memory) of doing so the best thing to do would be to install Dev , Test and UAT in three different ORACLE_HOMES with different port numbers for the Oracle HTTP Server to listen on. There is however a non-technical point to install the UAT environment on a seperate box or to do the UAT testing when Dev and Test processes are not running otherwise this will blur the results of the UAT tests. Create different environment files to source these installations. You could even install three separate standalone webcaches in their own ORACLE_HOME in front of these environments. Keepin mind though that it would be better for availability, ease of management it would be better to install your environments on separate boxes. The config=UAT in the URL points to a forms service for an application called UAT I guess. Unless you have only one application in all the environments you could create forms applications in one ORACLE_HOME, but you would end up with just one environment instead of three. Going for the option where you install the environments on different boxes will save you a lot of headaches.
    cheers

  • CI (ABAP+Java) & DB in one AIX box and dialog Instance on a Linux box

We trying to install SAP, CI+DB in one AIX box and dialog Instance on a Linux box. We are facing problem when trying to install Java Dialog Instance. Is it possible and recomended to install in the above manner?
Has anyone done this? please share your exepeirience.
    thanks & regards,
    Harsha.
ps we have read the Note 1067221 - Central Note for Heterogeneous Installation, which indicates this is possible.

If you would have stated, which kind of problem you are facing, we could have seen, if the problem is related to because of heterogeneity or because of something different.
It should be possible to do that - yes

  • Required RPM'S to install ECM 11.1.1.5 on Linux box

I am trying to install oracle ECM 11.1.1.5 on linux os, before installaion i need to check RPM'S on linux box
where I can the get the required RPM'S parameter inforamation,

I believe it's a certified combination, but I didn't have great luck with Windows 2003 64-bit. Perhaps you'll have better luck with Windows 2008.
I tried doing an installation on Windows 2003 64-bit connecting to an 11.2 Oracle DB on Solaris, and had problems during the installation. The installer totally failed with the 64-bit Oracle client installed. It made better progress with the 32-bit client, but evenutally errored with a 32-bit/64-bit version mismatch when loading the library. I opened a case with Oracle support. We did several web sessions so they could observe. Ultimately they suggested that I should do the installation with the 32-bit client, wait for it to fail with the version mismatch, uninstall the 32-bit client, install the 64-bit client, and complete the installation. Seemed a bit kludgy to me, so I reverted to Windows 2003 32-bit, which worked just fine.

  • Installation Error Linux Metadata Management XI 3.1

    Hi everybody
I have a situation when install the BOMM on linux.
Enter the SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise installation directory:
    > /bobj/boxi/
    ERROR
No installation of SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 could be found at the specified path. Please try again.
    the path
    /bobj/boxi/
    Version
    BOE XI 3.1 SP3
    BOMM XI 3.1
    Thanks you for your help.

BOMM Unix Installer is not able to detect the BOE Version for SP3, you can try the following workaround
go to enterprise120 directory and take backup of the ProductId.txt file
and modify the BuildVersion to following
    BuildVersion=12.2.0.290.BOE_Titan_SP_REL
run the BOMM Installer, it will work, on completion restore the original productId.txt
    take necessary backup
or the best thing would be to file a case with Support, looks like BOMM is not certified with BOE SP3 on Linux/Unix
I don't see this issue on windows
