SUP not syncing to child site
Hi,
I have SCCM 2012 R2 with this deployment:
CAS server - SCCM 2012R2, OS WIN2012R2 in forest A
DB server - WIN2012R2, SQL 2012 SP1 in forest A
Child site is in forest B, we have established two way trust between forests.
Child site - SCCM 2012R2, OS WIN2012R2 in forest B
Child DB server - WIN2012R2, SQL 2012 SP1 in forest B
I have added SUP role to CAS and child site. CAS is synced successfully from internet. Child site cannot be synced. I am receiving this error in wsynccmgr.log
Sync failed: WSUS update source not found on site XXX. Please refer to WCM.log for configuration error details.. Source: getSiteUpdateSource SMS_WSUS_SYNC_MANAGER 5/12/2014 3:39:22

I receive same error in component sms_wsus_configuration_manager.
I have tried removing WSUS and SUP role, restarting server and adding it back, but it didnt helped. Do you have idea what i could try more?
There are two moving parts to this -
1. The updates that are synched on the CAS DB will flow as a part of DRS (Data Replication Service) to the child site. Make sure the links are Active in the (Monitoring -> Database Replication) tab.
Verify the counts of updates in any case to confirm if the settings and updates have flown to the child site.
select count(*) from CI_ConfigurationItems
2. Once the Sync completes on the CAS, it sends a <ChildSiteCode>.SYN to make sure the downstream WSUS synchronizes with the upstream. This file goes as a normal legacy file replication way.
CAS: WSyncMgr.log -> ReplMgr.log - > Scheduler.log -> Sender.log
PRI: Despoolr.log -> ReplMgr.log -> WsyncMgr.log
Make sure the account used iin Address in the File Replication tab has access to the child site SMS_SITE share which points to inboxes\despool.box\receive folder

Project Manager Group
New project is created and published project server sends permissions to Sharepoint which puts users into the following groups:

At this time the creator/owner, owner’s management, portfolio managers, and executives should all have Project Manager rights on the sharepoint site, and Admins will have Web Admin permissions.
Issue #1: Only the Web Admin permissions and creator/owner permissions are being added to the Sharepoint permission groups
Workaround #1: Going into the project site permissions and adding the
Project Managers (Microsoft Project Server) group manually and the sync will keep the permissions
Workaround #2: Going into the Server Settings, Manager Groups then removing or add all users to the No Permission Group, which forces an sync to all workspaces. Con: This workaround can only be down at night when users are not active since it will
block the queue for at least an hour.
Project Owner Transfer
Previously created project has owner change, once saved and published project server sends permissions to update user’s permission to
Project Managers (Microsoft Project Server) on Sharepoint project site.
Issue #2: When Project owner is changed and project is published the owner is not getting permissions to the Sharepoint project site. However, if owner is also added to the team using the Build Team Feature the sync will give the owner Project
Manager permissions on the Project Site.
Workaround #1: Going into Server Settings, Project Sites, select project and Synchronize. Once this is done, the owner will have Project Manager Permissions without being added to the team.
Users who have been added to this project in Project Server 2010, but not assigned to tasks. Users who have assignments in this project in Project Server 2010 and are contributors to the project workspace site,
meaning that they can create and edit documents, issues, and risks. Users who have published this project or who have
Save Project permission in Project Web App and are contributors to the project workspace site, meaning that they can create and edit documents, issues, and risks. Users who have

Sharepoint permission you have to use when you want to give permission manually to users on project site
In the Project Site provisioning setting under Server setting if you have Check to automatically synchronize Project Web App users with Project Sites when they are created, when project managers publish projects, and when user permissions change in Project
Server.
Then all the user get access as per describe above and if you will give access manually to any of the user either in project server group or in Sharepoint group once you will publish the project next time all the manually given permission will go away.
IF you want to give permission to user manually to sharepoint group or project server group then uncheck automatically synchronize Project Web App users with Project Sites when they are created, when project managers publish projects, and when user permissions
change in Project Server.
You check PWA site setting --> Site permission then member of Sharepoint group user who will have access to sharepoint group in PWA site setting site permission will have access to all the project site sharepoint group as Project site inherit permission
from PWA root site.
Both the issue which you have described is behavior of project site.
For issue 2 when first time project owner create and publish the project and projectsite is getting created then porject owner name gets access in the porject manager (project server group) nect time if you will change the owner and publish the project
until he will not present in the project plan will not get the permission.
If you want to give sharepoint permission to users then uncheck automatically synchronize Project Web App users with Project Sites when they are created, when project managers publish projects, and when user permissions change in Project Server and give
the permission manually.
Project site in 2010 has some issue and not full filling customer need some time ,Ms has came up with 2013 which is having tight integration with project sites .
Project workspace security groups are equal to the SharePoint Server 2010 security groups.
Web Administrator equals Full Control
Project Managers equals Design
Team members equals Contribute
Readers equals Read
Users who have Manage
SharePoint Foundation permission in Project Web App and are contributors to the project workspace site, meaning that they can

Hi,
after upgrading our Primary Site to SP1 we added a CAS to the Environment. After that the added new primary sites.
On the "old" standalone primary site a SUP was installed and everything worked before Expansion.
But now after expanding the hirachy with a CAS, the CAS is not able to sync any updates.
I already removed the SUP from the "old" primary site, but the problem still persists.
I checked the wsyncmgr.log and found the following:

Nike Runs are Not synced to Nike+ site
Hi,
it's being Several month that I can't sync my runs from I-Tunes to Nike+ web site,
When I press the "Send Runs To Nike" the process is halted after a few seconds, and I don't see the "Visit Nike" button.
I enable disk usage and saw that there are about 9 runs in the "synced" folder.
It's really frustrating that suddenly the runs are not synced, Both I-tunes and Ipod are updated to latest versions and I can't understand why I cant upload my runs any longer.

Ran.The problem seems to be an issue with the nike plus site.
Even if you are already logged in when you’re taken to the nike plus website when syncing your run via itunes on the mac, it prompts you to a page in an other window in safari to either login or create an account to save your run.
If you click save run you loose the run and no matter how many times you try to resync it, it just doesn't seem to work....So far this happened twice (but) if you select login from within the same screen that pops up after you've completed a run, it will be saved.

Stylesheet not rendering properly on child site
I have a stylesheet in the Style Library of a parent publishing site. A Master Page in a child site is using the stylesheet, but the styles are not rendered properly. I copied the same stylesheet and used it in an ASP.NET web form Master Page
and the styles rendered properly. I then created a basic HTML page and used that stylesheet and it worked out fine. Why won't it work in SharePoint 2013? Is there a clash with the default styles and can I disable the default styles?

Ipod not found - will not sync; restored and lost everything. Please help.
To whom it may concern,
My iPod Classic has worked perfectly for the few years I've had it. I only use it a few times a month on average so it's still in really nice shape.
Earlier today, I went to sync it like I do every couple of weeks whenever I add new songs, and something strange occurred. At first, it seems to say "Syncronizing..." but quickly stops and displays the "Connected" status instead - not long enough to sync even one song.
Sure enough, I checked it and it had not updated.
After using the "Run Diagnostics" option, it tells me "Device Sync Tests Results: No iPod touch, iPhone or iPad found."
Yet - under "Device Connectivity Tests", it does say "iPod Found" and it shows up as a device in my iTunes - but not in my Devices (under Preferences).
I followed every step in the troubleshooting guide that iTunes directed me to, each with the same results. As a last resort, I used a Factory Restore, which was what the website told me to do.
To my horror, the problem STILL persists - and I just cleared out not only all of my songs, but photos that were very important to me that I only had on my ipod. I even tried to do a backup first, but my device would not show up under the "Preferences/Devices" category, I could not even save them before I restored it.
Now I am stuck with an ipod that will not sync with my itunes library, and an ipod that has absolutely nothing on it. At least before I restored it, it had all of my old music and photos on it.
This is very frustrating and upsetting. If there is anything that might be able to be done, please help - and please, do not send me back to the same webpage - I already tried everything there at least twice now.
I also borrowed a different cable to make sure it wasn't my adapter, and there was no difference.
To make matters worse, as I am trying to find someone to assist me, I received this message after entering my serial number;
"It looks like your product is not covered for complimentary technical support, so you may need to purchase a single incident of support."
This iPod already cost me $250.00 and that was steep in and of itself. I really do not feel that it would be fair to have to pay even more just to get some help when it malfunctions.
If absolutely anything can be done, please help me. I would be very grateful.

No iPod, iPhone, or iPad found.This issue has been resolved - my Support Advisor, Edgar, was able to discern what was causing the problem.
It appears that, despite years of never experiencing this, one of the latest ipod updates actually altered my device's personal settings and changed it to "Manual" for all synchronizing; even performcing Factory Restores did not change it back to being automatic.
My ipod is working as good as ever now thanks to Edgar. If anyone else is having this problem, please make sure you check your device's settings in iTunes and see if "Manual" is checked - even if you never changed the settings yourself and have no reason to suspect that to be the problem, as was the case here. If it is checked - uncheck it to enable automatic syncing.
So relieved this was not a much more serious problem. I've missed having my music on the go. Thanks, Edgar! -

IPhone 3G will not sync with Exchange 2003 after updating to 4.0.1
I keep reading a lot of posts about users who updated to 4.0 not being able to get Exchange to sync and 4.0.1 was supposed to fix that however I just updated from 3.something to 4.0.1 and now my Exchange 2003 server email will not sync (kind of) and my Contacts are slowly disappearing.
I tried to delete and re-enter the exchange account however after 5 hours I only have about a dozen emails out of the hundreds that should be there. Also the contacts that were there are now slowly disappearing.
I saw somewhere that I should try to access www.myserver.com/oma and www.myserver.com/exchange to see if I can log in there. I am able to get into OMA without an issue however when I go to /Exchange I am able to login and get the left window pane to start (inbox, contact, notes, etc buttons), but no other pane has anything.
I don't know if this is related, but I did notice that on some sites that use script for the menus I am no longer able to navigate the menus. They drop, but clicking a link in the menu does nothing.
I have another 3G that is working fine with the 4.0.1 and all the BB and Windows Mobile and Droids are working fine.You know, yesterday I deleted the entire Exchange account, rebooted, added it -- nothing... then I deleted it again, rebooted again, etc... after about the 3rd time of doing this and allowing the Internet Accounts to automatically discover the account, it started working again.
You might want to give it the brute-force-angry-uninstall-and-reboot-multiple-times-while-shaking-angry-fists -and-cursing routine and see if that helps you! -
My ipod touch is not syncing properly.
My Ipod touch is not syncing properly. I download podcasts and it will not allow me to delete some shows after they have been listened to. It is a neverending cycle of deleting unwanted podcast episodes from itunes on the computer, plugging in my ipod, syncing, and then it always takes the already listened to episodes, and puts them back into itunes on the comp. I then delete them on the comp again, sync the ipod, and it again pulls them over from the ipod. I have it set up to only sync unlistened to episodes, and beyond that, only checked things, but it does not seem to matter. The only thing I can do to get the episodes off the ipod for good is to do a factory reset, and that absolutely should not be necessary! Any ideas for something I am not seeing that is allowing this to continually happen? This just started happening a couple of months ago. Not sure what changed, but would like it fixed! I have a similar problem, all since the ios update i think, my podcasts do not seem to sync, I have a song purchase via the ipod which no longer plays (just sits on the screen) this also doesnt sync back to itunes.
Its a complete mess. Seems everytime Apple push out an update my ipod becomes less useable. -
My IPOD Classic 160GB is now not recognized by iTunes and will not sync
I have a 160GB IPOD Classic that now will not sync with iTunes. Both the iPod and iTunes have up to date software versions and I am connecting thru a MAcBook Pro running OS X 10.10.2. I have synced this iPod i the past with no problems and now it does not appear in the iTunes source list.
I have tried the rest options that the Troubleshooting guide suggested and now at a loss for the next step.This is a problem caused by 10.10.2, only way to fix it at the moment is to revert to 10.10.1.
Quite a few threads on it on other sites and only that one solution. Make sure you raise a feedback to apple though. -
When I sync my iPhone with iTunes I get an error message that says "iTunes could not sync calendars to the iPhone because the sync server failed to sync the iPhone" How do I fix this?

Ipod nano 6g will not sync OR charge! (not happy)
i bought a ipod nano 6g but 3-4 hours ago and its not syncing. It is not recognized by my comp nor itunes. Not only that it it isnt charging either. I had downloaded the latest version of itunes. I did the diagnostics test and every test passed except for 2 in which both had said "no ipod, iphone, or ipad found". If it helps i also saw something that said no apple mobile device driver found as well, but i dont know or think it has anything to do with the fact that that device is also not charging. I have gone through several self tech support links from apple's support site and itunes links. i may just take it back tommorow. Please assist me and if ur having this same problem. please bump my topic so it gets more attention.

I came to find this problem after using a faulty socket box, I hadn't noticed that while my iPod was charging in my Belkin USB Adaptor that the Red Light on the Adaptor was flashing (Power On and Off) consistently because of the power not getting through to my adaptor, so while reading my tech magazine there was a rather loud 'BANG' so as you do you go and have a look so I pushed my charger in to the socket harder and the light did not come up on my iPod or my Adaptor meaning that something was wrong with the adaptor... So I checked my iPod and it would not switch on or do anything for that matter!
Please help me on this one guys, i'm not usually the one struggling with tech!

IPOD TOUCH(4th gen) MUSIC DISPLAY has wiped out all my music. The music I have is all still on ITUNES but will NOT SYNC. When attempted a displayes message appeared- Cannot read contents of IPOD (my IPOD name), go to Summary tab to Restore to factory settings. When I click OK it takes me to a CLICK on RESTORE OPTION, which I did. Then it explains that I will lose all APPS, etc.. to restore. I clicked OK again and it shows my IPOD is Downloading Software Update. The only thing being it has done this for 3 days now. It starts by stating will take 20 hours, goes down to 12 or 10 and prompts OUT and when I redo the thing again it starts back up at 20 hours but continually times out. *Also, in case it matters ,the SYNC option on my IPOD in ITUNES is Highlighted as to where I cannot use that option. Everytime I start it back up I get the same message (Cannot read contents of IPOD, go to Summary Tab,etc..) Help.

iPhone 6 will not sync music. This has become a problem since using itunes 12. It also will not sync all my pics and video's with my iPad 4 either. Removed and re-installed iTunes with no improvement. It stops at last step saying waiting for items to copy and just sits there. The iPad finish the sync, but some video's are missing.
