Supplemental/vda-migrate fails: missing com/sun/vda/service/TextCipher
Hi,
just tried vda-migrate to upgrade my test installation (single host) from vda_3.0 to the new 3.1 version.
This fails as seen below (added -verbose:class to the line calling java in vda-migrate:doExport).
Any idea where class 'com/sun/vda/service/TextCipher' could be found (at least it's not defined in
any .jar-file in vda_3.{0,1}/Solaris_10+/i386/Packages/SUNWvda*...)

Hi,
The VDI upgrade from 3.0 to 3.1 is not supported in 3.1 Early Access version.
vda-migrate 3.0-->3.1 will be available only in the 3.1 final release.

Persistent store migration failed, missing source managed object model.
I downloaded the new Desktop Manager and all seemed to go well (I did a backup), until I tried to sync the address book with my new 8120. I then got an error message 'Persistent store migration failed, missing source managed object model', followed by a failed to sync message. Having had my calendar corrupted by the leaked version I didn't want to risk that.
I don't want to be too negative, but after many years of being a Palm user my Blackberry experience so far has been a nightmare.
Anybody else having problems?
Solved!
Go to Solution. You had the leaked version installed? Did you still have it installed when you installed the official version? If you removed it, what steps did you take to remove it?
I would like to get some more details:

Are you using BIS, BES or both?
The only stupid question is the one you don't ask before you reboot the BES. -
Missing com.sun.corba.se.internal.iiop.CDRInputStream
I am trying to test the new OC4J 10.0.3 which supposed to be a J2EE 1.4 compliant.
I followed the instruction to unzip it, and when I tried to start it I got the error :
I did a thorugh search for that package in my Java directory and couldnt find a match in either J2SE or J2EE.
Your help is highly appreciated.

Hi,
I've installed VDI 3.1 on Solaris 10/09 in evaluation mode. I have absolutely no error during the install or the configuration. Once everything is completed, I can log locally on the VDA web console where I enter my username/password for root (the user that was used for the install). Once I do that, I have an "Internal Error Occured" that shows on the login page. If I click on the error log, I have the following:

at javax.faces.webapp.UIComponentClassicTagBase.createChildRight now, all the services are running and status are good. However, I can't create provider with the CLI neither. I receive the message that VDI is not running (even if it is) and that's even if I commented out the localhost IPV6.
I saw that the VDI Demo is not supported in a VM. Is that why or it should work even if not supported? My current VM has 3 GB of RAM and 2 CPU allocated to it which seems appropriate for a demo.
If you have any idea or if I missed something, please let me know.
Thank you.
fortineTry executing:
vda-webadmin stop
vda-service stop
vda-service start
vda-webadmin start
IIRC this worked for me some time back. If it doesn't work for you, check the DB state with vda-db-status

I just download and try WTK2.5 today, I changed the file ktoos.properties to use Retroguard as the document said, the toolkit shown the following error message while building the app!
The obfuscation class file can not be loaded.
com.sun.kvem.ktools.RunRetro
Warning: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.sun.kvem.ktools.RunRetro
Obfuscation failed.
then, I checked that ..\wtklib\ktools.zip does not contain the class com.sun.kvem.ktools.RunRetro, it just contains the class com.sun.kvem.ktools.RunPro for Proguard!
is that a bug? or anything i am missing?I just download and try WTK2.5 today, I changed the file ktoos.properties to use Retroguard as the document said, the toolkit shown the following error message while building the app!

I have a CMP EJB that will not deploy. I've been able to compile, run the capture-schema, complete the EJBC, but then I get a failure with the message below. I have used the ASMT to migrate from Weblogic 6.1 to Sun One 7. Any help would be userful.
ERROR:
Deployment Error -- Error while running ejbc -- Fatal Error from EJB Compiler -- -- Failed to save deployment descriptor for: Tracker-EJB cause: com.sun.enterprise.deployment.EjbExternalDescriptor
The exception in the admin log file really doesn't help me.
Thanks in advance. Please check the xml files by running verifier. It seems like there is some problem with the sun-ejb-jar file. Check the packaging of the EJB. Set the log level to fine or above and give the log to know more details about the error.

When I create an EJB Transport Business Service, after selecting the jar that has the EJB 2.1 artefacts (Remote, Home, etc) the oepe plugin fails and can't continue.
As I understand it seems that there is a problem with the classpath of ant build.xml that oepe creates inside folder /tmp/alsbejbtransport/ to compile the bs and generate the wsdl. I checked if tools.jar is in the classpath (in eclipse) and is included, so I can't figure out wich is the problem.
I found this in Oracle, but not helps solve the problem:
BEA-398120
