Supplier Warrenty

Dear PM Experts,
I need to maintain warrenty information for a perticular equipment and I need to have a process flow for sending this item to vendor within the warrenty period, get it serviced and take it back to my inventory (free of charge). can any one of you suggest the process flow in sap for this?
cheers
Deepal

Hi Deepal,
Subcontracting process
Dismantle the equipment
Create the Non valuated material for your equipment. Do the GRN by 202/262 to get the inventory. If you are going for valuated then it will hit the Accounting.
Create Subcontract PR, PO against the equipment material no.If acct assignment is Order then better your equipment will get the cost.
Maintain the Sub contract value in PO ( for warranty case it may be zero). Which is charging by the vendor.
Send the item to vendor by 541 Movement. Make the RGP.
Do the GRN agaianst Po
Reconsile your RGP
Receive the items thro Order or install your equipments if the sl no mgt available.
The sub contracting stock also you can monitor thro ME20 T codes
Hope this helps

  • Does Creative sell replacement power supply / ac adaptors for out of warrenty produc

The part I need is the external power supply / ac adaptor. It's rated 3.5 V at 5Am
    ps.
I checked every other possibility in the setup of my system and came to the conclusion that the power supply has died. I confirmed this by using a OHM-Meter which showed no power flowing through the device.
The device has a model number on it
    Model: UA-450
If anyone knows if/where I can get a replacement part.
I emailed Customer service but have yet to receive any reply.
    Thanks in advance,
    Steve

Thanks for your note.. I am still not getting any display or Target firewire startup after
several days of off and on attempts to try every variation of reset, pram/nvram reset et.al because i hoped to have one shot at re-booting it to avoid sending it out for repair with data on the hard drive.
I've tried with and w/o battery in... (fully charged). I'm able to get through the PMU using shift-fn-ctrl-power keyboard combo but on subsequent attempts to restart,
power button with T or even power button alone, there is no power-on at all but a few times I've been able to get the PMU reset and before I go to manually restart it, it restarts (chime) itself, however the only thing indicating it is on is that the caps lock key lights and i can hear (listening with my ear to the thing that it's "on..." yet the drive never gets spinning - If there's any other idea to trick this thing into a Target FW startup or other means of accessing the HD to remove certain data i'm still hoping to get this one fixed (esp. if it is only the cost of a Logic Board replacement.
What is really curious is that a few times it has gone to a PMU reset (with the single beep) even when i have just tried to startup with the power-button alone....and then, as i say, restarted (well, powered on..but nothing else...no display, no drive recognition presumably...)

  • Warrenty on Nokia phones!

    Hi all..
I have a Nokia 6270 which my insurance company sent me because they couldn't supply me with a SonyEricsson K750i which developed a fault.
Anyway I can't get on with this phone and my dad said he will take it and give me his W800i in exchange.
The phone is 6 days old and would carry a 1 year Nokia warrenty on it. If the phone developed a fault (not through misuse) within it warrenty period i.e. say it wouldn't power on.
How would my dad get it fix under the warrenty? Can Nokia see when the phone was manufactured?
The insurance company I use is the one given to LloydsTSB Select/Gold/Platinum account holders as a perk and the only documentation I have is the insurnace notice which has all my insurance and bank account info on, and for security reasons (even though it is my dad) I don't want to hand that out.
Also when I change my phone I have to inform the insurance company and then I would get a new insurnace notice listing the new phone on it.
Can anyone help in what I would have to do transfer the warrenty into another persons name?
    Regards
    Ric

you might want to call nokia to clarify this but, when you got sent the phone you would have got an advice note - this will be your proof of receipt and help you get the phone repaired under warranty.
it will have your name, address, date of receipt and the model of phone on it. this is what they will need to see if you take it for repair. if you have already thrown it away, ask them to send you a new copy and keep it safe.
plus, nokia phones have a 24 month warranty, so realy keep it safe.

  • PowerMac G5 Power Supply Replacement _ Sharing some information

I thought I might share my experience here with the recent replacement of the 600w power supply on my DP 1.8 G5.
Like many who have experienced the failure, the loud cap gun like sound when the PS failed was a sound I didn't want to hear.
Because this system is the workhorse of my business it was imperitve that we ether got it back up and running or replace it. After a quick call to Apple, even though the system is out of warrenty, I realized this was going to be an in house repair, one because of the cost invloved, and two because of our time frame.
My thought was how bad can a power supply replacement be? We replace them all the time on our Web Servers and other Linux based systems.
To those of you that have done this G5 repair I'm sure you are snickering about this time.
We were able to locate a new power supply and had it over nighted. To those of you ready to tackle the job here is our experience:
    1. Remove the fans, both the front and rear.
    2. Pop off the covers on the processor heat sinks so you can get to the allen head screws that hold the processors in place. ( Yes you have to pull the processors to remove the power supply) Make sure you have a 2.5mm allen head driver with at least a 5.5" shank so you reach the screws that hold the processor in place.
    3. Mark the processors, A or B, top or bottom, you want them going back in the same slots.
    4. Once you have loosened the screws (leave them in the posts, no need to pull them out) pull each processor straight up. Don't wiggle them or rock them, you don't want to bend any pins.
    5. If you have the lower RAM slots filled I would pull the RAM, you'll need the room to get the Power Supply cover out of the way. Again be sure to mark the modules so there is no mismatch.
    6. Remove the 2 screws that are holding the PS cover in place. I found that if you lift the front of the plate up and then slide it to the front, it clears the case. It IS tight to remove this cover, be careful not to jam it against the logic board. I also found its flexable so I could torque it a little from the middle to pull it out.
    7. Remove the 4 screws from the bottom of the case, they hold the PS in place.
    8. Remove the 3 connections from the logic board.
    9. I found that with the case laying on its side, I tipped the power supply up horzontialy towards the top on the case, and then it lifted stratgit out.
    10. Pop the new in the samew way the old one came out, and make the connections to the logic board. The front connection is a pain because the pig tail isn't all that long, so you end up doint it with one hand.
    11. Reinstall the 4 screws on the bottom of the case, and reinstalled the PS cover using 2 screws.
    12. Put you processors back in place, first the top and then the bottom, be careful here, you don't want to bend any pins, line up the posts and push straight in, you'll feel it seat itself. Tighten up the screws. Don't overtighten these they need to be snug.
    13. Replace the ram, and the top covers for the heat sink and your fans.
At this point you should be all set, replace the dust covers close up the case and fire it up and all should be well.
We of course cleaned up the case before replacing the PS and we DID run into a problem with the top processor not seating properly. When the machine booted we got to a gray screen and that was it. I suspected a processor wasn't seating properly and when I pulled the top processor I found a piece of dust between the pins. Of course when I removed the dust I bent a pin, and spent the next 20 minutes realigning it it with a safety pin. I know bad idea but I was desparate. We got incredibly lucky with the alignmnet and the machine booted and has been running like the bear it is.
We have built and service a lot of machines over the years, and I have to tell you pulling processors to change a PS just doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I also have to take issue with the unavailability of information from Apple. I KNOW they want you to use their services but not all of us are in the position to lay out 250 for a PS and another 300 for labor and wait 10 days:)
I was in touch with a couple of people I know that stated when they pull the PS they also pull the logic board. I didn't find that to be necessary in our situation.
Like always when you open the case take the necessary precautions with static discharge and electrical hazards.
Hope this helps somebody out there, I know there wasn't a whole lot of info I found for the task in detail.
    G5   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

You really need to call Apple and ask about your particular machine. Sometimes Apple will still honor the extended warranty if it applies, even if you're beyond the expiration, and your machine might fit a narrow set of circumstances that doesn't apply to everybody else.

  • Faulty T420 Motherboard Warrenty?

Hey, I've research a bit into a problem I've been having with my ThinkPad T420 not booting and found this thread: here
"Lenovo has identified an issue which affects a portion of Think and Idea systems that were manufactured between September and December 2011. The issue manifests as early life failures of the EEPROM chip and results in the system failing to power on or boot up. Not all of the systems manufactured during this period of time are affected.  This is an industry component issue and is not limited to Lenovo.
The solution is to replace the system board, Lenovo has been working through an unanticipated increase in demand for system boards and some repair times have been longer than desired. Lenovo's parts logistics teams have worked closely with suppliers to accelerate availability of replacement boards and service part stocks have been updated with the latest level parts.
Service times are beginning to recover. Where possible, Lenovo is proactively escalating aged customer repairs to ensure resolution as quickly as possible.  We apologize for any inconvenience these delays may have caused."
My laptop falls under the specified dates and exhibits the problems described in the thread. Obviously this issue is a fault of the manufacturer and not the user, will it still require the laptop to be in warrenty for a replacement?

You (we) could escalate this issue with link to the Mark's (Lenovo forum administrator), http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/T400-T500-and-newer-T-series/T420s-No-power-blinking-power-Led-won-t-boo... .
Missed page I mentioned could be as additional information.
I don't know others public sources regarding this issue except of the similar threads here.

    god knows wat is wrong
but would nokia look at it and replace it if needed since its under warrenty or wont they because i did not actually buy it from amazon?

    @cleo2525
If device supplied in EU and you are resident in EU there should not be an issue with warranty, although if you contact Nokia Careline with device IMEI they should be able to advise you upon this issue.

  • T61 - Power supply wire melting and smoking

Do you guys have any problem with power supply. My wife just called me and she smelled something burning. And power supply wire is melting and smoking.
And I called Lenovo tech and he told me that my machine is just 13-month old and he can't do anything at all.
He just told me replace power supply. I used to have dell and IBM X41 and never have wire burning problem.
Is this normal? If my wife found out little late and buring the carpet still he is going to say this machine is out of warrenty and Lenovo has 0% responsibility.
I told him, I'm going to take picture and post to the internet and he told "I don't care".
Wow what a nice man. He supposed say "Sorry" first then say your machine is out of warrenty...
Anyway, I'll never going to buy Lenovo again.
    Thanks

  • Warrenty voided????

    Hello,
When I first recieved this ibook G4 It had a dead pixel on the screen. I was told (ininitally) that they WOULD repair it. Now I only have a few months left on it till I can have it done. here is the problem, I had the tip of the power supply come off inside the mac. As it was late at night and I needed it right away, I opened it up and removed the broken piece. NOTHING WAS MODIFIED!!! I took it down to the local apple store and they said that since it had been opened i voided the warrenty. I had a ibook in the past that was experencing MAJOR problems and the only way I could get my information off the hard drive was to open it up and attach the hard drive to a main computer and get itg that way, and apple said that they would still honor it. However this time they didnt. And now I have this dead pixel which they said well its just one dead pixel and wont bother with it at all now. SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT I CAN DO!!!!!

Opening the machine in and of itself doesn't void the warranty. But: Telling Apple that you opened the machine gives Apple the opportunity to tell you that your warranty has been voided. If you break something while the machine is open, then you are responsible for the damage you cause. If you caused no damage, then there is no cause not to honor your warranty. From the one-year limited warranty:
This warranty does not apply: (a) to damage caused by use with non-Apple products; (b) to damage caused by accident, abuse, misuse, flood, fire, earthquake or other external causes; (c) to damage caused by operating the product outside the permitted or intended uses described by Apple; (d) to damage caused by service (including upgrades and expansions) performed by anyone who is not a representative of Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider; (e) to a product or part that has been modified to significantly alter functionality or capability without the written permission of Apple; (f) to consumable parts, such as batteries, unless damage has occurred due to a defect in materials or workmanship; or (g) if any Apple serial number has been removed or defaced.
If you did not cause any damage as a result of opening your machine and noodling around in there, then your warranty should still be in effect. (And besides, opening the machine to get a broken plug out of the AC port shouldn't kill pixels on the display.)
That said, JDee is absolutely correct to point out that a single "dead" pixel is not warrantable, no matter what you were told, and it is highly unlikely that anyone from Apple would tell you otherwise. If you had a "dead" pixel straight out of the box, it still would not be cause to replace your display (screen). That's not to say that someone may not have taken it upon themselves to help you out with this at the time you discovered this problem, but in my experience, that would still be highly unlikely to happen.
The best thing to do, when you have a warrantable problem, is to take the machine into the shop and explain the problem. Dispense with giving out extra information. When your machine is examined, the techs will be able to see if there is any user-caused damage, and that will be when they will decide to what extent your warranty is invalidated.
    Good luck!

  • If I replace my Ipod touch 4th gen screen with a local company other than Apple will the apple warrenty be void or will the warrenty be void if I replace the screen myself?

If I replace my Ipod touch 4th gen screen with a local company other then Apple will the Apple warrenty be void or will the warrenty be void if I replace the screen myself?

Regardless of what Apple may or may not say about repair work done by a third party (a non-Apple company or you yourself), the Magnuson-Moss Act precludes them from voiding your warranty simply because you had work done by a third party or used non-OEM parts.  Typically people hear of thie Act as it is applied to cars. Car manufacturers cannot require you go to a dealership for repairs or that you use OEM parts. They cannot void your warranty for doing that. The Act applies to all consumer goods. Computer manufacturers cannot require you send your computer to them for memory upgrades or that you use memory supplied by them. Apple cannot require you to go to Apple for repair work or that you use Apple parts in that repair.
With that said, though, if you have a problem in the future, Apple could make the claim that it was the result of damage from improper repair or substandard parts. Your only recourse would be the court system, not a quick or inexpensive endeavor.

  • N97mini supplied headset broken - Repair conundrum...

OK, had a bit of a stressful day, and you know when you think something should be easy to sort, and then it becomes way harder than it needs to be? Well I thought I'd post my problem here and see what you all think.
    Comments/suggestions welcome!
Here is a copy of an email I sent to Nokia:
    Hi,
I purchased a Nokia N97 Mini about a month and a half ago. There is a problem with the headset that came supplied with the phone, firstly when the jack moved it cut out and nothing could be heard. Now however, the left earpiece has completely stopped working. It is due to a faulty jack on the headphones, as I've seen the problem before, but on a supposedly quality pair of headphones less than two months old this should definitly not happen.
I took the headphones into an authorised Nokia warrenty service repair shop today and they said they need a reciept before they repair the headphones. I explained to them that I did not get a reciept for the headphones as they came supplied with the phone, but they kept saying they could not fix them until I had a reciept for them. I asked if the reciept for the phone would suffice and they said no, it HAD to be for the headphones. Please explain what I am to do, how do I go about getting these repaired under the warrenty?
    Many thanks,
    Michael Winder
P.S. As far as I know the model of the headphones is WH-701

What a joke! After days of waiting for them to reply to my email this is what I got:
    "Dear Mr. Winder,
Thank you for contacting Nokia Care. We do apologize for the delay in responding your email, your patience is greatly appreciated.
In response to your inquiry, Nokia offers six (6) months for the following consumable parts and accessories: batteries, chargers, desk stands, headsets, cables and covers.
For future reference, please feel free to check our website. Kindly refer to the link below:
    http://www.nokia.co.ie/home
You may also call our Customer Care Hotline at 1890 946 245, Mon-Fri 9am - 7pm (except bank and public holidays)
Please don't hesitate to contact us again if you have any questions."
This is clearly a standard mail they send out, and it is quite obvious the person hadn't even bothered reading my original email properly (posted above). Of course I know they offer a warrenty, the thing is practically band new! What I was asking was how I go about getting it repaired or what I do with they people in the Nokia service centre wanting a reciept for an accessory which I got free with the phone.
The crowning glory has to be the link that doesn't exist. Linking me to the Noka home page, not even a specific area, and getting it wrong is just genius.
    Sorry about the rant.

  • Dv7-2185dx Power supply and Fan issues

A little while ago, my fan started making ridiculously loud noises under normal operating.  It sounded as though it was possibly grinding on something, and as my notebook's warranty expired some number of months ago, I decided to take it apart myself and try to diagnose it.
In the taking apart process, a bit of an issue happened, and long story short, two cables got pulled from their white jack head.  It was part of the power supply ( hp spare part # 536857-001), that had two parts that went into the system board, the top of which had a six pin jack head, and the bottom of which had a two pin jack head (with a red and black cable.  When I searched online for replacements, they only seemed to have the top half of the power cable, and not these other two mysterious wires.
After trying to set the wires back in and putting the computer back together, I managed to boot the machine up with essentially no problems.  However, this only lasted a short time in testing, because when I moved the computer back 10 feet to my room from the table I was working on, the screen would no longer power on.  So I began re taking apart the computer, and found out that the computer will still power on without those two wires in, but the screen appears to be completely off.  Not even just the back light failing, but the screen seemed to be completely off.
So this leaves me with a few questions that hopefully someone can answer.
    1)  What on earth do these two wires do or power?
    2)  What is the best way to repair the wire?
    3)  I'm pretty sure that the red wire is on the left side and the black wire on the right side, but can anyone confirm that?
    4)  Has anyone had any similar issues with the fan?  I'm assuming I'm going to have to replace it, but I don't really know.
    Thanks in advance,
    Matthew Nickolai
(photos incoming as soon as I can find a cable to connect my camera to my computer)

What is the real name to that part??? except my laptop is the dv7-2180us but i think our plugs are probably similar. Mine has a short and I tried to order it but ended up only getting the bigger plug instead of both of them. The part number you listed was the one that I ordered but its not the one that goes in my laptop. The pre sales support told me to speak to a technician but since mine is no longer in warrenty I have to call and more then likely they'll charge me or ill get some person I cant understand.

  • When I login to my bank, I get the message: 403 - Forbidden: Access is denied. You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied. Have new MacBook Air with Yosemite. How to solve this problem?

When I try to login to the website of my bank, I get the following error message:
403 - Forbidden: Access is denied.
You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied.
I have a new MacBook Air with OS Yosemite installed.
What is the problem and how can I solve it?

Some websites require a special client certficate for access. If you don't have that certficate, you'll have to contact the site operator to find out how to get one.
Sometimes the problem is caused by a web server that is configured to request an optional client certificate. Safari treats the request as mandatory. In that case, other browsers such as Firefox and Chrome may be able to connect to the site, because they ignore the request.
The first time you were prompted for a certificate, you may have clicked through a dialog that requested access to the Apple certificate in your keychain that is used to secure the iMessage service. In that case, you may be able to regain access to the site in Safari by doing as follows.
    Back up all data.
Double-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    com.apple.idms.appleid.prd
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.
Paste into the search field in the Keychain Access window by clicking in it and pressing the key combination command-V. An item may appear in the list of keychain items. The Name will begin with string you searched for, and the Kind will be "certificate."
Delete the item by selecting it and pressing the delete key. It will be recreated automatically the next time you launch the Messages or FaceTime application.
The next time you visit a site that prompts for an optional client certificate, cancel out of the prompt. You may have to do this several times before the server stops asking.

  • I had an Intel-iMac fried by lightening. UPS, surge protectors but it happened as I was reaching to unplug.  Cold now.  Could it just be the power supply?  Can I replace that myself?

This is the full question since I couldn't get it all in the box.
I have some complex questions regarding an iMac, a Time-Machine backup, and iTunes on an iPod.
I live about halfway up an extinct volcano about 12 miles north of San Jose Costa Rica.  Some months ago, we had a thunderstorm and as I reached to unplug my computers lightening struck about 50 meters from my house.  I had an iMac with a 3-Tb external backup drive, a PC laptop and a laser printer on the same power strip.  There was a definite surge and the light brighten and then power was lost for a few minutes.
When power was restored, the PC and the laser printer seemed to work fine but the iMac was cold.
First questions:  Is is possible that the power supply was fried and not other essential parts?  Would it be worthwhile to replace the power supply?  Can I, with limited experience and tools do it or need I take it to a technician?  My concern is that if the hard-drive is good, there is personal information on it that I don't want to risk.
Next question:  Do I need to replace the hard-drive before taking it for service?  How hard is that, can I do it? I have seen videos of the drive replacement on-line.
Those are my iMac questions, now the questions about backup restoration.
If there is a saving grace with this it is that the Time-Machine backup seems fine although I have only accessed the data through Finder.  I replaced the iMac with a Macbook Air with significantly less mass storage and I can't just move files to the Macbook.  My problem is that I have an iTunes library of some 10,000 songs on the backup and until recently on a 160 Gb iPod which was old and it crashed.  I have replaced the iPod but have not tried to restore the iTunes library to it because of my confusion about how to do that.  Can anyone tell me how I might do that or give me any insight into the process?
Thanks for any help you can give.

Quite possible, but working on iMacs is not easy, & PSU might be prohibitive.
Hopefully the Drive might have info on it, but even pulling that out can be a chore.

    Can you help please....Thanks

    Hi,
    This is just a one-table test run only for ap_supplier_int > vo_vendors
By the way the set-up is non multi-org, does if affect the error?
Searched WebIV with "APXSUIMP REP-1419 beforereport" and found: .
Note.313569.1 Ext/Mod APXSUIMP Supplier Open Interface Receives the Following Error REP-1419 .
    Symptoms
The APXSUIMP module: Supplier Open Interface Import is erroring with the following error: .
    MSG-00003:
    After Get_NLS_Strings REP-1419: 'beforereport': PL/SQL program aborted. .
    Patch#4172504 - has been applied,
however, the process still errors. .
    Cause
As this was a new test instance, the user had not set the
MO:Operating Unit profile option in the System Administrator responsibility,
nor run the Execute Convert to Multi-org utility from adadmin. .
The system was not setup properly. .
    Solution
#1 - Apply patch#4172504 ->->-> this CT is already above this code
    #2 - Responsibility:
    System Administrator Navigation:
Profile-System Ensure a value has been set for profile MO:Operating Unit.
    #3 - Execute Convert to Multi-org from adadmin. . .
WORKAROUNDS: ------------ Patch 5167581 was applied and did not resolve the issue .
Set for profile MO:Operating Unit.     Responsibility: System Administrator
Navigation: Profile-System . No change, error still exists We also don not have value for MO: Operating Unit > What value should I put on this field?
    Thanks a lot
