Support JEE6 new login/logout methods

Custom authentication with BlazeDS is clunky because there was no standard way to programmaticaly login or logout. With JEE6 we don't have that problem anymore. I want to add a JEE6LoginCommand that will give us a container agnostic way to do login/logout. This is a quick and dirty first cut at that.
Thanks,
John
package flex.messaging.security;
import java.security.Principal;
import javax.servlet.ServletException;
import javax.servlet.http.HttpServletRequest;
import flex.messaging.FlexContext;
public class JEE6LoginCommand extends AppServerLoginCommand {
    @Override
    public Principal doAuthentication(String username, Object credentials) {
        String password = extractPassword( credentials );
        Principal principal = null;
        try {
            HttpServletRequest request = FlexContext.getHttpRequest();
            request.login( username, password );
            principal = request.getUserPrincipal();
        } catch (ServletException e) {
            // Figure out what is needed here.
        return principal;
    @Override
    public boolean logout(Principal principal) {
        try {
            HttpServletRequest request = FlexContext.getHttpRequest();
            request.logout();
        } catch (ServletException e) {
            // Ignore logout failed exception.
        return false;

hparmar : yes, that's what I feared... I hoped it would be possible to tell the server from which application I do need the login information. What a mess.
Dimo Hristov: thanks for your offer! I already tried decompiling the flash program with the shareware version of Trillix Decompiler. It only decompiled the UI (in a terrible way) but no source code at all. It was the shareware version where I can decompile 2 or 3 programms to test the software. Are you sure the non-free version of Trilix Flash Decompiler will do..?

  • Need to understand the authenticate, login, logout methods of HTTPServlet

    Hy,
    I want to understand how to use and what is authenticate, login, logout methods of HTTPServlet?
    As i was not able to find the documentation on Servlet 3.0

    They don't exist as methods. They are facilities of the servlet container. Have a look for Container Managed Security in e.g. Tomcat.

  • New Login Page/Authentication Method

    Hello Forum users,
    This weekend we have gone live with a new method of authentication in the NI Discussion Forums. This change is setting us up to successfully log users in to both Forums and Community simultaneously in the future. This change should be vitrually invisible to you, but you may notice a new look when you are redirected to log into the Forums. Also, you will notice if you select the Logout button, you will now be logged out of the NI Discussion Forums as well as all of ni.com.
    Note: If you currently log into the Forums with a saved bookmark, your bookmark should still work for now but that will be changing in the future. Please update your bookmark to use the new login link.
    Thanks,

    This is a big deal, because once I'm logged in, I expect to stay that way. I rely on being logged in to function the way I want to.

  • How to write logout method

    hi
    how to write logout method..... i am new to programming
    protected void logOut(){
    asap

    When I posted my first reply, I was thinking of writing to an output log. Do you mean "logout" like in web applications???
    You don't need to write any special code for that. At the most, you would want to clean up the resources like connections, sockets,... created by the application. If you have some mechanism which retains some "login" information, you might reset it to some default value.
    Why don't you be specific with your question instead of writing in such a vague manner?

  • Controlling Login/Logout and Background Sync

    Mac OS X Server 10.5.7
    Mac OS X Client 10.5.7
    Everything setup perfectly and by the book on both Server and Client.
    Problem:
    Why in God's name has Apple COMBINED the sync rules for both Login/Logout and Background Sync??? It's the most illogical thing and it does not work!!!
    Question:
    I know how to prevent Background items from Syncing at Login (through the preference manifest), but how to I get the Background sync NOT to sync LOGIN/LOGOUT items.
    The problem is always and systematically been mostly with the LIBRARY folder giving all sorts of sync errors. I have tried every possible trick combination but nothing seems to work.
    Is this STILL a bug even after a year?? If so, other than skipping the Library folder completely, mobile homes is utterly useless and unreliable. If I skip the Library folder, then mobile homes aren't really complete if a user moves to another machine.
    Has anyone found a reliable solution to this mess?
    PLEASE HELP.

    Something is definitely breaking it. Its as if at some random point in time, the sync stops obeying the background rules. I can only conclude that there is still is a bug somewhere that is not fixed.
    For example, I initially created the mobile home setting using the computer groups. When that started giving me errors, then I figured, let me try it by doing it via groups. So I created a new group and then, undid the settings for mobile homes that I had set for my computer group.
    The first time I logged in, it was working perfectly. Then my laptop's battery died. When I plugged it back, it reconnected to my wireless network and THATS when the bug started showing up again. No matter how many times I restarted, if I have firefox or entourage open, I automatically see that exclamation point in the upper right hand corned (on the mobile homes icon) and its ALWAYS the library files pertaining to those apps that 'are in use'.
    This is really frustrating and most non-apple like. This used to work perfectly under Tiger Server, I don't understand how Apple can mess this up THIS BAD and worse, not have a solid fix after a year.
    This bug even occurred with a brand new installation of Leopard server on a Xserve and a Mac OS X 10.5.7 station. The instant the mobile user logged on, that exclamation point came on complaining about the entourage files being in use even though that entire folder is set to be SKIPPED during Background Syncing.
    Not sure where to look anymore.
    And one more thing; as soon as I encounter that exclamation point, the time/date stamp reporting the last sync stops working as well.
    Could you provide screenshots of your setup? Could it be that Im missing one tiny detail somewhere? I just dont see where though.
    This is an updated output after it breaks (maybe there's a clue in there somewhere)

    to authenticate the user, my code in the backing bean for the login are:
    public String authenticate()
    MyCallbackHandler callback = new MyCallbackHandler();
    callback.setName("name");
    callback.setPassword("password");
    //create a logoncontext for specific login module, and callbackhandler

    Hi Frank,
    I am also facing the same problem getting the container to recognize the user using login/logout programmatically. I cannot use j_security_check as my authentication module requires three fields for authenticating the user and also I have a jsf login form.
    I have attempted the container to recognize the user by writing a filter to field all request with url-pattern "/" to get the user information from the session(saved by login action) and wrapped the request with an implementation of HttpRequestWrapper where I have overridden the methods - getRemoteUser(), getUserPrincipal(), isUserInRole().
    It is the first mapping in the web.xml and I am unable to understand if the redirect is happening before/after it reaches my AuthenticationFilter and my user is never recognized by the container since my method implementations are not called. The AuthenticationFilter is being called and I think it is something to do with the ordering of the filter-mapping. Any help would be appreciated.
    I have pasted my code below
    AuthenticationFilter
    public void doFilter(ServletRequest request, ServletResponse response,
    FilterChain fc) throws IOException, ServletException {
    if (request instanceof HttpServletRequest) {
    HttpServletRequest httpRequest = (HttpServletRequest)request;
    HttpSession session = httpRequest.getSession();
    if (session != null &&
    session.getAttribute(SESSION_ATTR_USER) != null &&
    session.getAttribute(SESSION_ATTR_ROLES) != null) {
    String username =
    (String)session.getAttribute(SESSION_ATTR_USER);
    Set roleSet = (Set)session.getAttribute(SESSION_ATTR_ROLES);
    AuthRequestWrapper wrapper =
    new AuthRequestWrapper(httpRequest, username, roleSet);
    fc.doFilter(wrapper, response);
    } else {
    fc.doFilter(request, response);
    AuthRequestWrapper
    public class AuthRequestWrapper extends HttpServletRequestWrapper {
    private String username;
    private Set roleSet;

    public AuthRequestWrapper(HttpServletRequest request, String username,

    super(request);
    this.username = username;
    this.roleSet = roleSet;
    this.principal = new UserPrincipal(username);
    public String getRemoteUser() {
    return username;
    public Principal getUserPrincipal() {
    return principal;
    public boolean isUserInRole(String roleName) {
    return roleSet.contains(roleName);
    web.xml
    <filter-mapping>
    <filter-name>AuthFilter</filter-name>

  • Can't connect to SQL Database using new login

    I can connect to Azure SQL Database using the admin ID created when I set up the Azure account.  Now I want to set up a different login that has only regular read/write privileges.  I have followed the instructions on several web posts, to create
    a login at the server level, then create a user at the database level from the login.  When I try to connect, though, the connection fails.  I get an error message, and a GUID that I am supposed to supply to MS tech support, except that all I have
    is a standard Azure subscription, which does not include tech support.
    Here is what I have done so far:
    Logging in to the server with the admin account with SQL Mgmt Studio, I go to the master database on my Azure server, and create the login:
    CREATE LOGIN clouduser@gxw8x04nlb with PASSWORD = 'xoxoxoxo';
    This appears to work (password supplied is a "strong" password), or at least it doesn't show any error response.
    Then, connecting to the production database in Azure, I set up a user and set permissions as follow:
    CREATE USER clouduser1 FROM LOGIN clouduser@gxw8x04nlb;
    EXEC sp_addrolemember 'db_datareader', 'clouduser1'
    EXEC sp_addrolemember 'db_datawriter', 'clouduser1'
    When I attempt to connect to Azure using the new login, however, I get an error message (from SQL Mgmt Studio as well as from MS Access).  I am using the SQL Server Native Client 10.0.
    The message is:
    Connection failed:
    SQLState '28000'
    SQL Server Error 18456
    [Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 10.0][SQL Server]Login failed for user 'clouduser'.
    Connection failed:
    SQLState: '01000'
    SQL Server Error: 40608
    [Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 10.0][SQL Server]This session has been assigned a tracing ID of
    '271851d5-8e94-497c-a332-d9d40682bb7a'.  Provide this tracing ID to customer support when you need assistance.
    Is there some missing step I need to do, to permit the login to see the database?  I have looked for such in the various discussions about connection problems, but have not been able to find such a thing.   Or extend more permissions to the new
    user? Or specify a default user ID for a given login ?  (as they do not have the same names, in the examples I have seen).  I tried making the user ID the same as the login (w/o the server name), but that didn't seem to help, either.
    I have done numerous web searches, and tried about every variation of login or user ID, password, etc. that I can think of, and all of them encounter the same error.  It's got to be something very simple - clearly Azure supports more than one login
    per database.  But's that's all I have at the moment.  That login connects just fine, but others won't, using the same PC, middleware, IP address, etc.
    Any help would be much appreciated -
    Thanks,
         Doug

    Olaf -
    I noticed that, but all of the examples I have seen have Users named slightly differently from the Logins.  I did try logging in with the Login name instead.  No good.  I tried making the Login and the User name the same (clouduser).  Also
    no good - same symptoms.
    I think the problem is that the initial creation of the Login needs to be done WITHOUT the server name on the end.
    Logged in to the master DB, I tried:  Create LOGIN clouduser@gxw8x04nlb with PASSWORD = 'xoxoxoxo';
    That didn't give me an error message, but I think it created a LOGIN of 'clouduser@gxw8x04nlb'.  When
    referenced from the outside world, I would need to specify 'clouduser@gxw8x04nlb@gxw8x04nlb'.
    I tried deleting the logins, and then creating the login 'clouduser' in the Master DB.  Then in
    the application DB, I created User clouduser from LOGIN clouduser, and then assigned a role.  That seems to work!
    In my connection string, File DSN, etc. I still need to supply the login as 'clouduser@gxw8x04nlb'.
     But when I am logged in to the server, and working in the Master DB or the application DB, I just refer to the Login as 'clouduser'.
    Seems a little more complicated than it really should be, but at least I now have something that works.

  • Server does not support PLAIN or LOGIN authentication

    I try to send mail via XI Mail adapter. My settings are below
    Transport protocol : SMTP
    Message protocol : XIPAYLOAD
    url : smtp://10.44...
    Authentication Method : Plain
    User : ...
    Password...

    To : ....
    But i give this error   "server does not support PLAIN or LOGIN authentication"..
    I think I use SSL or something else, but I dont know how to do by using Mail adapter..
    Or Why do i get this error ?
    Thanks

    Hello Tuncer,
    In your case, you need to first enable SSL on your PI server, which requires some effort. Here are the links for SSL configuration for AS ABAP and AS Java:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/0d/a22640632cec01e10000000a155106/content.htm
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/56/a12640632cec01e10000000a155106/content.htm
    After that, you need to exchange client certificates between your PI and mail server so that the two systems will accept each other's logon tickets. Only after that you can use your mail adapter with SSL. All adapters that run on the adapter engine use Java AS's authentication mechanisms, so SSL should be enabled for your AS Java, you cannot enable it only for the mail adapter.
    I recommend trying this scenario with another mail server that doesn't require SSL first with plain authentication. Then you can go for SSL, but you will probably need an experienced basis guy to help you for the configuration.
    Hope this helps,

    Just updated my login to apple on mac but ipad still displaying old email for login.  Anyone know how to update ipad to new login details?

    Hello Beeched,
    Thank you for the question.  Are you seeing the previous Apple ID in the iTunes and App Store?  If you are, use these steps to sign in with your new Apple ID:
    Sign in with a different Apple ID
    Tap Settings > iTunes & App Stores.
    Tap your Apple ID.
    If you see the option to Sign In, you can change your Apple ID now.
    Tap Sign Out.
    Enter your Apple ID and Password and tap Sign In.
    Or if you don't have another Apple ID, tap Create New Apple ID.
    You can find the full article here:
    iOS: Sign in with a different Apple ID in the iTunes Store, App Store, and iBooks Store
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1311
    If you trying to change the Apple ID signed into iCloud, use these steps:
    On your iOS device’s Home screen, go to Settings > iCloud, then at the bottom of the screen, tap Delete Account.
    iCloud: Change iCloud feature settings
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2613
    Once you delete the account from your device, you will have an option to sign in with your new Apple ID in Settings>iCloud.
    Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

  • Running into Exception while Creating new Login Page for Security

    Hi,
    I am following ADF Developers Guide to create a new login page ,so that whenever a page is run , first it redirects to Login page first and on Button click it
    goes to the Original page which was run.
    This is my Login bean code for doLogin()
    public String doLogin(){
    String un = _username;
    byte[] pw = _password.getBytes();
    FacesContext ctx = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    HttpServletRequest request = (HttpServletRequest)ctx.getExternalContext().getRequest();
    try {
    CallbackHandler handler = new URLCallbackHandler(un, pw);
    Subject mySubj = weblogic.security.services.Authentication.login(handler);
    weblogic.servlet.security.ServletAuthentication.runAs(mySubj, request);
    ServletAuthentication.generateNewSessionID(request);
    //String loginUrl = "/adfAuthentication?success_url=/faces/viewactivityname";
    //sendForward(loginUrl);
    } catch (FailedLoginException fle) {
    FacesMessage msg = new FacesMessage(FacesMessage.SEVERITY_ERROR,"Incorrect Username or Password","An incorrect Username or Password" +" was specified");
    ctx.addMessage(null, msg);
    setPassword(null);
    } catch (LoginException le) {
    reportUnexpectedLoginError("LoginException", le);
    return null;
    Now the Dev guide says that :: "Specifically, without specifying a view activity as the
    redirect target, command components, such as the commandButton
    component, will always return to the original page after login."
    Hence I have commented out the code for the call to sendForward().
    As soon as I press the button I am running into an error :: "javax.faces.el.EvaluationException: java.lang.NullPointerException"

    Login "CommandButton" it throws this error.
    Any pointers.

    Hi Puthanampatti,
    In that ase what would be my sendForward() mthod look like.
    Currently as per the Dev guide it is :
    private void sendForward(String forwardUrl) {
    FacesContext ctx = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    try {
    ctx.getExternalContext().redirect(forwardUrl);
    } catch (IOException ie) {
    reportUnexpectedLoginError("IOException", ie);
    ctx.responseComplete();
    I understand tat there would be change in parameters like sendForward(HttpServletRequest request,HttpServletResponse response,String forwardUrl),
    but how would the other parameters work.

  • How to add support for new file type.

    Using the ESDK, I would like to add support for new file type ( a new extension). this new extension will function like any other non visual code editor but will have specific syntax highlighting, code folding and explorer.
    I am trying ot figure out if I need to create a new editor or use existing JDeveloper code editor and add support for new file type. Does anyone have a high level outline on how to do this using the ESDK that is specifically targeted at adding new file type support for a text based code editor?
    I have looked at the Samples and keep going in multipe directions. It would be cool if there was an example that was how add syntax higlighting for new file type.
    Thank you

    Brian, thank you. I looked at this extension and it answered a lot of questions for me. I was going in the right direction but needed a little help and bost of confidence, this is just what I needed. I created the LanguageSupport, LanguageModel, Addin, Node and TextDocument that are specific to the new file type. I was getting hung up on how to hook this into the JDevelpoer editor. I keep thinking I have to create a custom editor but it looks like I don't have to and it looks like I can associate this file support with the editor framwork, for version 10.1.3.2, with the following in the Addin Initilize() method.
    Recognizer.mapExtensionToClass(MY_EXTENSION, MyNode.class);
    CodeEditor.registerNodeType(MyNode.class, MY_EXTENSION);
    LanguageModule.registerModuleForFileType(new MyLanguageModule(), MY_EXTENSION);
    I have done this but still not able to recognize the new file type.
    At this point, I just want to be able to recognize the new file and display it's associated icon or display a messare to the message log. I put a System.out.println("test") in the Initilize() method of my addin. then I registered MyAddin in the extension.xml. JDeveloper sees this new extension and it is loaded but I have not been able to show the test message or display the new icon when I open the new file type.
    extension.xml

  • New Login while Sequence is running

    Hello,
    i´m running a Labview-Operator-Interface which is executing a teststand-sequence.
    This sequence is running parallel an executes from time to time a new seqeunce in "a new execution".
    On the operator-interface are serveral functions which i want to make only executable for some users.
    The problem ist, that after the parallel-sequence is running i have no more acces to the Login-Button ( it becomes greyed out).
    So my question is: How can i execute a login with User/Password while a seqeunce is running?

    I am using TS 3.5 and LV 8.2.1.
    When i execute the default (untouched, unchanged) Operator-Interface from NI located in
    C:\Programme\National Instruments\TestStand 3.5\OperatorInterfaces\NI\Simple\LabVIEW\Testexec.exe
    then i have the problem also.
    What i do:
    - Run this Operator-Interface exe-file
    - Click on "Open Sequence File" and select the sequence what i posted before.
    - Click on "Test UUT"
    - The Sequence begins to run and displays the first popup
    But now the Login/Logout-Button is greyed and disabled.
    This is what my problem is also in my customized UI.
    What you say is, that your Login-Button is still normal and clickable with TS 4.0 ?
    Attached a screenshot of the UI and the first-popup + the greyed Login-Button

  • Forum Login/Logout

    I'm not a fan of your new forum login/logout policy. While the login form has a "remember me" option, it does not appear to do anything. I still must login one or more times per day to participate in discussions.

    Make sure your Internet options looks something like this:
    If it isn't then change it and then try again.  If it is then post back for somebody else to suggest something else.
    You may wish to clear the cache (& coockies)  once to make sure there is nothing that is bugging your IE.
    Good luck.

  • How can I get all Login/Logout details

    How can I get all Login/Logout details of all SAP Users from SAP Server/Database of any one year? I am asking about SAP License User. Is their any Table or Report by which I can get these details? For example USR02(Logon Data) Table store the last login/logout details of SAP Users. So in same way is any table which store Users Login/Logout details through out a year or month.

    Hi Sudheer,
    Check this .
    You can find the transactions by a particular user from the transaction SM04.
    SM04 gives you the details of the users logged in,terminals,transactions the user is working on, the time he has logged in,no of sessions user has opened, and the memory used by the user's programs... all of that w.r.t to the client we login. but we can't get info like date and number of times the user has logged in.
    U can see tables:
    USR01 User master record (runtime data)
    USR02 Logon data
    USR03 User address data
    USR05 User Master Parameter ID
    USR12 User master authorization values
    plz rewards points if helpful
    cheers
