Supported DB2 versions in WL8.1

Hi :
We currently have Weblogic 8.1 connecting to DB2 V8.1, and want to upgrade the DB2 to version V9.7. We have the proper files, have modified the class path accordingly, however the driver isn't recognized.
Does anyone know if WL 8.1 even supports DB2 V9.7?

In our enterprise, we use Toplink 9.0.3.5. This is an old version of toplink.
DB2 is the database used in our enterprise.
Now, our enterprise is planning to upgrade to DB2 Version 8.
I would need to know whether Toplink 9.0.3.5 version will support DB2 Version 8.

We have certified 9.0.4 against DB2 v8. The details are available here.
I have no reason to believe 9.0.3.X would not function with standard functionality offered by this version of DB2. If you encounter specific issues please let us know and we'll do our best to provide some solution options.

We have several LC ES2 environments with DB2 9.5 and we would like to upgrade the database engine. Wich is the highest DB2 version supported by it?

Just to be clear, there are no known incompatibilities with DB2 7.2, and
we know that there are people who are using Kodo with it without
problems. However, it is not an officially verified version of the
database against which we certify Kodo.
If you have any problems with your testing against DB2, be sure to let

Help on Migration from DB2 version 8.1 to Oracle 10g

Hi All
We have one requirement of migrating one Mainframe database to Oracle 10g. the DB version is DB2 8.1 on Z OS. We are thinking of using Oracle Migration workbench. Can someome help me know if this is supported by OMWB tool or not. I checked in oracle site, they have mentioned some details about V4R5. Could not conclude. Please confirm this. Also let me know if there is any tool that we can use or we have to go manually. Any pointrs would be highly appreciated.

OMWB nor its follow up product SQL Developer Migration workbench support DB2 z/OS migrations. You have to do them "manually".
For a manual migration you might use an Oracle Gateway which allows you to use an Oracle database link to the Db database and you can then use the gateway to copy the data from Db2 to Oracle. Another alternative would be to unload the DB2 data into an ascii file and to load it into the Oracle database using SQL*Loader. You might also use Golden Gate which is commonly used to replicate data between Oracle and DB2 - but it allows you also to use it as a migration utility.

I'm an undergraduate student in software engineering. I worked with EE and tried to built a EJB Application. It worked. But when i connected it to database using persistence it getting error as mentioned.
When i change my source Binary Format to jdk6 it runs without errors. What can i do for this without downgrading jdk version?

I resolved my problem. The issue was the version of EclipseLink that I had specified in my pom.xml. Version 2.0.1 has an issue with the meta-model generation and, in fact, I wanted to be using version 2.1.1. Once I changed to 2.1.1 everything compiled correctly.
Just make certain that you include the correct EclipseLink repository.

the issue i am having is this .
if i create a text file in windows with notepad and save it on a nas drive.
inside a text file i will have
this is a test
i go to my mac open the text file with textedit and add following text in new line
this is test 2
now i go back to windows box open same text file you will see that following
this is a testthis is test 2
basicly what it does it puts it on same line as the first line.
and this all use to be fine before 10.8.2

Has anyone else seen the "SharePoint is not supported with version 4.0.30319.18051" messages?

We are running SP 2010 service pack 2.
We are seeing the following messages on at least one of our farm machines. I was wondering whether others here have seen these messages and found a solution. The powershell ise was a running task, but not actually executing any code, etc.
When code was tried with it, the code appeared to be working as far as I could tell.

Best approach for publishing a paid version and an ad supported free version of the same app

One of my Windows 8 store app is almost ready for store submission.
What is the best approach for publishing a paid version and an ad supported free version of the same app.
Can I do the following
1. Submit the app with unlimited free trial to store
2. During the free trial ads will be displayed
3. If the user purchases the app, then the ad would not displayed

Although the in-App purchase option is good but for ad based apps my approach is different.
I would suggest putting 2 different apps in the store, one free with Ads and one without. Reason being you want the extra reference and xaml ad controls depending upon how
many you have on the paid version of the apps. I would keep my apps as lighter and cleaner as possible specially when its a paid app.
I currently manage both free and paid app through one solution and reuse most of the code except for the views.

Branching Recommendation on Supporting Different Versions

Hi Guys,
We are a small team and barely new to TFS. I wanted to introduce branching for supporting different versions eg. SSRS 2005 and SSR2012, SSIS2005 and SSIS2012.
We're planning to convert our codes from 2005 to 2012 but during that period we need to support the changes on both versions (2005 & 2012).
Currently this what we have in TFS.
I know it's a bit ugly and wanted to know how branching will make this cleaner.
I'm thinking something like this

Basically, i wanted to get your input on the requirements or suggestions.
Also, a detailed procedure on how to arrive on it. I check some online tutorials but most of them branch the MAIN..so they have MAIN and DEV..
I think at this point we're not after on the proper release or MERGING as we are just a small team.
We'll probably change the file in v2005 and v2012 and checkin both files in case there's some codes/component that is supported on the version.

Yes, we usually create branch on Main folder(whole solution in it) to generate the Dev branch and Release branch separately, then develop in Dev branch, and merge changes from Dev branch to Main branch, then merge changes from Main branch to Release branch.
If you’re a small team, and you don’t want to create Dev and Release branches from Main folder, I think this issue not relate to branching.
I think you want to restructure your project folders in Main folder, right? You want to create a
SSRS folder under Main folder, then move LocalReports and LocalReports_VS2005 to this
SSRS folder, and create SSIS folder under Main, then move SSISPackages and SSISPackages_VS 2005 to
SSIS folder? If yes, you can manually create SSRS and
SSIS folders under your Main folder, the right-click on that four project folders and select
Move to move them to the right folder.

throwing the error

you can get some info on the stacktrace.The version
of jdk we are using is jdk1.2.2, is the problem
anyway related with the jdk version as the standalone
program i have tested ran on jdk1.3.1 and jdk1.4
versions.

mesage is not helpful, and can't be due to
anything
you or WebLogic did. Can you get that driver wowork
on it's own, using it's own example programs? If
you can get a simple 15-line program to succeed
making
a connection, then we can get WebLogic to do the
same.
Show me that program and I'll show you the pool
definition.

I am facing the error "Exchange Organisation does not support this version of exchange server" at time of installation of exchange server 2007 in the Windows server 2008 Enterprise edition.
I have already installed exchange Server 2010 in the that domain.

Error when trying to re-mount a VHDx (the version does not support this version of the file format)

Hi,
I have a vhdx on a NAS that I use for server backup. I created the VHDx via disk management, mounted it and assigned drive letter X. I now created a script that gets triggered upon startup via task scheduler to remount the VHD. If I try to mount it however,
it tells me this:
No matter what I try, I can't mount it. Double clicking just says this:
Eventviewer spits out error 137: The default transaction resource manager on volume X: encountered a non-retryable error and could not start. The data contains the error code.
How do I trouble shoot this? oO Originally I had created the VHD as expanding, where now I recreated it at it's full size of 900GB. Maybe that will make a difference.

Hi Maike,
Do you mean that you can mount the VHDX via disk management but cannot mount it via a script? If so, please provide the diskpart’s mount commands in the script.
In the meantime, check if destination partition is NTFS formatted.

I can not mount it after a reboot. So I create the VHDx via disc management and attach it afterwards without problem. After the server reboots and the attached VHDx dropps, I can't remount it. Gives me the errors I posted above.
As I had mentioned above, I recreated the VHDx at it's full size this time, rather than expanding. That worked just fine and I can remount after reboot.
So I consider this dealt with ;)

I am getting an error saying "Your computer doesn't seem to support any version of Media Player". When I look at my list of plugins I do see that I have Window Media Player Firefox Plugin 1.0.0.8. Why am I getting this error?

I am trying to load a page & I get the error "Your computer doesn't seem to support any version of Media Player". I then go to the tools & to add ons & to plugins. There under the plugins is Windows Media Player Firefox Plugin 1.0.0.8. It is enabled. My question is what does this error mean? Do I have the Media Player I need or not?

2) That launch file is invalid. You might check it (and the project in general) using JaNeLA.
3) The only place that SimpleSerial class could be, that the JRE would find, is in the root of aeon.jar. Is it actually there?
