Suppress 'First Sign On' screen in OCS 10.1.2

Environment : Collab Suite : 10.1.2 on Linux
I am bulk creating users in the OID, which are subsequently
provisioned in the Content Services.
How do I suppress the 'First Sign On' screen which is shown when the users
log in for the first time ?
We do not allow access to ftp services for the users, and would
like the screen not to be shown.
Do not mind an unsupported way to do the same.
Regards
Sanjay

Using UserManager Web Service, call setUserPreference(Preference value) for the currently authenticated user.
UserManager userManager = ....
userManager.setUserPreferences(new Preference[]
new Preference(FdkConstants.USERPREFERENCE_UIPROPERTIES_VIEWEDFIRSTLOGIN,
Boolean.TRUE))
You could also call setDomainDefaultUserPreference(Preference value) to make it a default setting for all new users provisioned.
Additionally, for an existing user:
setUserPreferencesForUser(long userId, Preference[] values)
Set an array of user preferences for the specified user.
Check the UserManager javadoc.

  • Suppress the UCM login screen

    Hi,
We are going to implement Single Sign On (SSO) using SAML. We can not use UCM login screen.
So Is it possible to Suppress the UCM login screen?
    ~Hari

    Hi
As Kent mentioned with UCM 11g will use WLS security realms for doing all the security authentications .
In case of OAM / SSO (OID 10g case) steps needed were :
    1. Create the SSO provider on WLS security realm . For eg if it is 10g SSO then it is SSO Provider and if it is OAM then OAMIdentityAssertor.
    2. Create the identity store provider ( like LDAP authenticator , OID Authenticator etc) on WLS security realm .
Both these providers should be set to flag Suffiecient .
SSO provider should be the first in list .
Identity store provider should be second .
DefaultAuthenticator should be set to Sufficient as well so that users from identity store get the right set of security access .
After these 2 steps restart WLS and UCM server . Verify that JPS provider is showing status as good .
    Hope this helps .
    Thanks
    Srinath

  • Why do I have the gray linen sign in screen?

Please help:  Using mid-2011 Imac, upgrading to Mac OS X 10.8.5 Mountain Lion (12F37), I have had THREE different sign-in screens:  first Gray Flannel, then Light Blue and now Gray Linen.  I do not know what caused these changes; Apple Care's tech advised:  "Don't worry, be happy."
I'd be less worried and more happy if somebody could tell me more about this.  Many thanks.

I have file vault 2 enabled.  I do not have multiple monitors and never have had.  There are no other users except myself.
The Light Blue log in screen is for users who are part of a managed network...does not apply to me (so far as I know...unless somebody adopted me in a hostile takeover am I totally unaware of -- aka "via hacking") either.
    Therefore, I am multiply stumped.
I'd imagine Grey Linen is a bit of a step up from Light Blue; however maybe not in the case that a connection to some kind of "virtual" monitor might exist?

  • How to add a picture in Background of Sing in and Sign out Screen

    Hi MOSC,
How do i add a picture in the background of Sing in and sign out screen in HCM People Soft 9.2 and People Tools 8.53.
Also, how do i get rid of the Language are from the sign on page.
    thanks,
    Response will be greatly appreciated!
    User 501241

Ha, I lost the reply I had typed up and I see Jim replied while I was writing it.
In addition to his comments about changing the file.  It's actually signin not signon.html. Jim has the right path though. signon.html is the file that redirects the client to URL=../psp/ps/?cmd=login command which displays signin.html.  It's at /home/psadm2/psft/pt/8.53/webserv/peoplesoft/applications/peoplesoft/PORTAL.war/ps/signon.html.
I also gave two blog posts on the topic.
Creating a Custom PeopleSoft Sign On Page - Remote PSAdmin and Hide the ‘Windows 7 is not supported’ message | The PeopleSoft Tipster Blog
The first tells you how to add the background in the comments.  The latter discusses customizing the file for other reasons and gives some additional info.
Oh, I also mentioned that the languages are all in a td tag with the class name of pslanguageframe.  Which may help you find it, because if I remember the language codes use JSP variables.  Just edit the table structure as you like and aligning it to your liking.

  • Sign in screen showing "Other User" and blank picture in Build 10049

In 9926 and 9974 builds, sign-in screen properly showed my picture and my account name and welcome. I don't use a password so it skips on to the desktop automatically.  No problems.  Starting with 10041, that screen shows a very big "Other
User" and doesn't show my picture.  The various available Account Settings all show what should be there like in prior builds.  There is only one account on my machine so there is no account listed as "Other User".  I didn't complain
in 10041 because I hoped 10049 would cure this but it did not.
    Any ideas?

Yes, Yolanda, the screen looks like your example.,  The local policy logon disable instruction does hold.  I tried it both enabled and disabled and didn't help.  However, i made another account with the following results:
Upon Shutdown or Restart, I still get "Other User" with blank picture like your screenshot.
If I then "SIgn Out" which produces the Lock Screen and then click on the screen, I get the correct sign-in with my MS account and picture shown.  First time I've ever been able to get that correctly.
If I change User's to my new test account, it shows properly with account info. If I then click on change user to my original account, it then shows the proper account info AND my picture as it should.
Other User never shows as an option on User list but continues to appear when Shutdown or restart is used!
Thank you very much for your continued interest. However, I don't believe either of us should waste any more time with this hoping that it will somehow disappear in the next build installation.

  • How to remove "Other..." from my sign-in screen?

How to remove "Other..." from my sign-in screen?
I was trying to change an Administrator Account by starting from my Leopard Install DVD and from the Utilities menu choosing Reset Password, etc. A longish story involving my inability to shut-down the computer while others are signed in but not actually using the computer. In Tiger I was able, since moving to Leopard I need to go into each of their accounts and manually log each of them out. A headache.
For right right now I need to get rid of the Other... account name, etc from my sign-in screen. How do I do this in plain English please? I find all this Admin jargon does my head in.
    Cheers, SZ

You need to disable the root user. From what I understand you enabled it from the install DVD's password reset.
Use [these instructions|http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106290] to disable it.
Those instructions led me down this path, I have not the head to deal with them again today. My eyes glaze-over listening to myself read them aloud. SZ

My built in FaceTime app on my iPod touch will not proceed from the email verification step of the setup process. • Sign in screen won't allow me into PS cs6

On my trial Ps cs6, the sign in screen when i try to open it up won't connect to the internet and allow me to open the program. Offline activation fails to work as well!
    is it me?

Did you have a PS CS6 Beta installed? If yes, yu might need to uninstall that one before you install the CS6 trial.
Some details about your computer and error message will also help. If you can attach a screenshot of the error that would be great.

  • "you must first sign in to iTunes Connect and sign the relevant contracts": how?

I'm trying to get my iBook (made in iBooks Author) up on the iTunes store and am stuck.
I now have an iTunes Connect account into which I can sign in.  When I try to use iTunes producer, and enter my login info (which works on the browser), it tells me
"There is a problem with your login information. To use this application, you must first sign in to iTunes Connect and sign the relevant contracts."
I'm not sure what a "relevant contract" would be.  I look at "Contracts, Tax, and Banking" at iTunes Connect, and there is one entry with Contract Type "Book". However, I can't request it (that is grayed out), and the "Legal Entity" pull down does not show me (as found in the "Manage Users"), but only shows "select".
I therefore can't seem to find a way to do anything to allow me to login with my book via Producer to get it "produced."
Does anyone know what is going on?
The FAQ is a blank page, the "Contact us with questions" asks you to pull down a topic and has no topics there! Very clumsy path to publishing (comparing to CreateSpace, for example). After the ease of iBooks Author it's like hitting a brick wall at 100 mph.

OK, I saw the link for the help video at the bottom - it helped.  I have to add a new entity.  I was fooled thinking I would already be there and that the entry was me, but it is apparently a general placeholder into which numerous entities can go.  For me this was not obvious at all, and I only figured that out by watching the video (which was not easy to spot!).
I'll go through the process now and hopefully no more confusions.

  • Sign on screen up, but trying to sign on returns page not found

    Hullo,
had this issue on a LIVE instance running 11.5.10.2 (11.2.03 on RHEL 5.5) last week
Users could not connect (or work) to or in i Expenses. The sign on screen was up, but trying to sign on returned a page not found error.
I checked Apache processes and there were around 20 of them.
    Apache was running.
I decided to bounce Apache and this resolved the error.
I suspect that it wasn't Apache that was the problem (since there were many Apache processes running). What was the real issue? A module?
Any helpful tips will much much appreciated.
    Happy Christmas.
PS: Is simply grepping for Apache enough to confirm that it is running (as well as checking adapcctl.sh status)? Why are there over 25 Apache processes running - even when I check on an instance that no one is using??
    Thank you again.

Just downloaded iOS6. My iPhone is in an endless loop switching from Apple logo to sign in screen. What do I do?

The simplest way to exit out of DFU mode is to hold down the Home and sleep/power buttons on the iPhone while connected to iTunes. Then just hit the power button as and this should reboot the device as usual.

    Hello there, peijinc.
I understand your MacBook Pro seems to be taking longer than expected when coming back from sleep. It sounds like you may be seeing the Mavericks feature called Safe Sleep. The following Knowledge Base article offers up an explanation of how that feature works:
OS X: Saving energy with Sleep

If you feel that this period of time is greater than normal, this article offers some practical steps to troubleshoot your Mac:

Although the entire article offers relevant steps, this section may prove most useful:
If the steps above do not resolve your sleep-related issue, try these additional recommendations.
    Reset SMC
    Reset NVRAM/PRAM
    Test with external devices disconnected
    Try Safe Mode
    Try another user account
