Suppress number of rows processed message in msql

Is it possible to suppress the feedback message that one gets after running a query.
I've tried the following:
SQL> set feedback off
SQL> set heading off
SQL> @x
3
1 row(s) returned
But still get the message "1 row(s) returned"

The Bytes is AVG_ROW_LENGTH * Number of Rows Processed.
For instance you have an EMP table which an AVG_ROW_LENGTH as 37 and the Number of rows processed is 14 then the Bytes will be 518

    its urgent plzz any suggestion
    thanks a lot

    And here's some hints for you posting on the forum...
    a) do not post in UPPER CASE unless you are highlighting a word or two. Typing everything in UPPER CASE, is considered shouting and is not polite.
    b) do not say that your requirement is "urgent". Everyone here is a volunteer with their own jobs to do and your requirement is not "urgent" to them. Suggesting they drop everything to help you is poor netiquete and, again, quite rude. It also presumes that your issue is somehow more important than other people who have posted asking for assistance. Sure, everyone else would like their question answering as soon as possible, but they aren't so rude as to demand urgent attention, so neither should you.
    c) Always tell us your database version. The answers you are given may vary depending on the capabilities of the database version you are using and if you don't specify a version, people will have to assume you are using the latest supported versions and the answers may not work for you if you have a less capable version, even if those answers are technically correct.
    d) Always try and give an example of what you mean. Provide sample tables (create table statements) and sample data (insert statements), with example code or queries that you've tried (where relevant), showing what you expect to get as output and explaining any logic that is to get from the source to the output.
    e) Post any code or data inside {noformat}{noformat} tags so that it retains formatting on the forum.

    message mapping look like this,
    IDoc-------------------root
    segment1--------------     row1
      f1------------------- f1
      f2------------------- f2
      f3------------------- f3
    segment2--------------row2

      f6------------------- f6
    (actually the idoc contains no of segments..i provided sample one above)

    To check all the DML statements you have to set the Fine-grained-auditting(FGA) .
    For you have to set the triggered against the statements .

    Hi Experts,
    I have a requirement like this
    there is a table, where i need to diplay a message when there are no records and no rows should be visible on that table.
    Also, when the records are populated from the context, i need to fix the number of rows in that table and display the records.
    Please let me know hw this can be achieved.
    Also in the table I have Link to URL, please let me know how to handle this reference, when i set the reference Property, its giving me an error stating that the file doesn't exist when the table gets loaded.

    Hi
    Oh!!  You should to  explain it at first thread itself that you want to display a JPG imange or other WDWebResourceTypetaken form the backend.
    1. So this is not at all a URL
    2. You have to convert binary data to WDWebResource then display it in either Image UI element or other (like PDF , txt etc)
    3
    try
                   //        Read the datasource of the FileUpload
                   IWDResource res = wdContext.currentContextElement().getResource();
                   InputStream in = res.read(false);
                   ByteArrayOutputStream bOut = new ByteArrayOutputStream();
                   int length;
                   byte[] part = new byte[10 * 1024];
                   while ((length = in.read(part)) != -1)
                        bOut.write(part, 0, length);
                   in.close();
                   bOut.close();
                   IPrivateUploadCompView.IImageTableElement ele = wdContext.nodeImageTable().createImageTableElement();
                   ele.setImage(wdContext.currentContextElement().getResource().getUrl(0));
                   ele.setText(res.getResourceName());
                   wdContext.nodeImageTable().addElement(ele);
              catch (Exception e)
                   wdComponentAPI.getMessageManager().reportWarning(e.toString());
    Here I assume that you convert that data to IWDResource type or
    4.
    WDWebResource.getWebResource(wdContext.currentContextElement().getresource(), type);
    // getResource of type binary which u read from BAPI and set it in local context , type is MIMETYPE or hardcode it as "JPG"

  • Max number of chars in process message MSEL?

    Hi, what is the max number of characteristics can be used in process message category's MSEL table? Right now, I am using more than 99 characteristics and I get a short dump DYNPRO_FIELD_CONVERSION. Is it really limited to 99 characteristics and if it is true, is there an OSS note to change it to allow more than 99?
    Thanks and points available

    Please make sure that you build a
    multithreaded program first (check with ldd).
    If anyone can tell me the maximum number of threads per process I would
    really appreicate it.
    Also the maximum number of open files per process. It depends on the architecture (x86/SPARC), OS version,
    64 or 32-bit, /etc/system, shell limitations (/usr/bin/ulimit) ...
    Search for "rlim_fd_max / rlim_fd_cur" on docs.sun.com too.

  • Restrict the number of processed messages in a time interval

    Hi experts,
    i have one problem to solve.
    Is there a possibility to restrict the number of processed messages in single stack java pi 7.3 in some time intervals?
    My problem is, that i have to restrict the messages from being sent only from 8:00 to 18:00 and there are restricted numbers that i can send in 15 minutes.
    For example 2000 messages can be sent in 15 minutes, if more messages arive, they should be queued and be processed in the next 15 minutes.
    Thank you in advance.
    Richard

    You're right in thinking that the behaviour you describe looks wrong.
    Take a look at the QueueBrowser interface which can be used to inspect a queue. You get one using QueueSession.createBrowser(Queue). The QueueBrowser allows you to scan a queue without consuming the messages. However note that the state of the queue may change while you're observing it through the QueueBrowser so what you see might not always be a 100% accurate representation of the queue at any given time.
    Other things to check:
    - message selectors - are you setting a message selector on your queue receiver which is resulting in not all of the messages 'matching'.
    - expired messages - are you setting a time-to-live on the messages that you publish.
    Hope this helps,

  • Insert number of executions vs rows processed

    I'm reviewing a conventional load job that was running in my environment and I came across something that I couldn't explain correctly and was hoping for some help. Say I run an AWR report and look at a particular insert statement in the section "SQL ordered by Executions" and I look at the column "Rows per Exec" I would expect this to be one so that each row inserted increments the counter for exections of the same sql statement. How does oracle processes rows per each execution of the same insert statement? Like I said I initially thought each row would be an execution. Below is an example from and AWR report, the sql was edited by me before posting.
    Executions Rows Processed Rows per Exec Elapsed Time (s) %CPU %IO SQL Id SQL Module SQL Text
    33,021,240 396,254,880 12.00 18,317.08 65.80 0.55 7v0u50ct2tfyn pmdtm@server123 (TNS V1-V3) INSERT INTO TABLE1(ID, NAME, DATE) VALUES ( :1, :2, :3)

    Even though statement such as “INSERT INTO TABLE1(ID, NAME, DATE) VALUES ( :1, :2, :3)” implies one-row-at-time execution, some drivers (JDBC and others) implement bulk processing for this type of insert. Please check the settings of your driver and, if possible, the actual code that issues the insert.

  • How to count the number of deleted rows processed

    Sybase ASE version: 15.7-SP52
    Hi all,
    I have a delete statement that will potentially delete millions of rows
    DELETE from TAB_A where COL_A='Y'
    The delete is long, at some point I'd like to know how many rows were deleted.
    If I do SELECT COUNT(*) from TAB_A where COL_A='Y', the query should be locked because of the exclusive-lock held by the DELETE in progress.
    If this is the case, how can I actually count the number of rows deleted so far?
    Thanks all
    Simon

    Simon
    For  deleting significant number of rows best practice is to delete rows in small batches of known size (e.g. 10 K) inside a while loop.
    This keeps transaction log from filling up as well.
    Also between two iterations of delete you can give some wait to make sure that you do not monopolize the server. Sleep could be for a fixed number of seconds (e.g. 5) or for randomized number say from 1 to whatever makes sense.
    Typically "set rowcount " is used to set up the batch size and "waitfor delay" to sleep between iterations.
    Global variable @@rowcount gives yo actual rows deleted. For the last batch this may be lower than the batch size you set up.

  • Limit Number for Rows in BW Query Result

    Hello Experts,
        I am creating a query to be consumed by a web service. Therefore, I want to restrict the number of rows the query can display. Does anyone know a way to limit the result set to display only say FIRST 100 rows of data?
        I have looked at 'safety belt' solution, i.e. limiting number of cells to for example, 5000 cells. However, when the limit is exceeded the query just shows an error message not the first 5000 cells.
    thanks,
    Kartik

    Hi,
    You can do some things like..........
    Do not display the data in a detailed level.
    Use Always Suppress option in the result set.
    Also it depends on your Query definition. If your rows contains Branch wise or Region Wise, then your report will be fit in your first level of output. You need not to drilldown further.
    Why do you want to consider only first 1000 rows if you are planning to use it by Web service?
    I don't know whether it is feasible or not. I have one more alternative for you. You can try to achieve by APD by the Query. Insert a ABAP routine which should consider first 1000 result rows for your Web service. Just throw a light on this idea..............

  • Bug Report: Automatic Row Fetch/Automatic Row Processing and invalid column

    Hi,
    if an invalid column name is specified for a page item of type "Database Column", no error is reported by the Automatic Row Fetch/Automatic Row Processing process. It's just ignored and nothing is returned!!! That makes it kind of hard to identify such an error.
    The problem can happen for example when a column is renamed or if there is a typo in the column name during creation.
    The problem seems to be related to the following query which doesn't use an outer join.
    SELECT C.COLUMN_NAME, C.DATA_TYPE, I.NAME, I.FORMAT_MASK, I.DISPLAY_AS
    FROM
    SYS.ALL_TAB_COLUMNS C, WWV_FLOW_STEP_ITEMS I WHERE C.OWNER = :B4 AND
      C.TABLE_NAME = :B3 AND I.SOURCE = C.COLUMN_NAME AND I.SOURCE_TYPE =
      'DB_COLUMN' AND I.FLOW_ID = :B2 AND I.FLOW_STEP_ID = :B1 AND (C.DATA_TYPE
      IN ('DATE','NUMBER','CLOB','LONG','FLOAT') OR C.DATA_TYPE LIKE 'NUMBER%' OR
      C.DATA_TYPE = 'CHAR' OR C.DATA_TYPE LIKE '%VARCHAR%' OR C.DATA_TYPE LIKE
      'TIMESTAMP%') ORDER BY C.COLUMN_IDBTW, if an invalid table/view name is specified for a Automatic Row Fetch/Automatic Row Processing process, the error message during runtime isn't very speaking.
    ORA-06550: line 1, column 17: PL/SQL: ORA-00936: missing expression ORA-06550: line 1, column 9: PL/SQL: SQL Statement ignoredMaybe that could be changed too.

  • On LOGIN: 01422 exact fetch returns more than requested number of rows

    hi -- When logging into an application (as any valid user) I get the above error message (01422 - exact fetch returns more than requested number of rows) on page submit. However, when I go into DEBUG mode (where there are also prompts for username and password) I don't get the error message --I'm logged into the app just fine.
    Any idea what this is about? I don't know query APEX is trying to execute;
    it certainly doesn't make sense to me that it works while in DEBUG mode.
    Note: this is an app in development that's been sitting dormant for 6 months due
    to lack of funding. The login worked 6 months ago, but now know. Don't know if
    that's helpful information...
    Thanks,
    Carol

    hi Scott -- Your question made me think to examine not only the login process,
    but other processes I'd added to the page -- and that's where the problem was!
    (My brain is a bit rusty on the APEX re-entry process).
    Thanks for the spark :)

  • Are 'read only' items causing my automatic row processing to fail?

    I have a form that uses automatic row processing to update my table.
    I recently had to add a check to lock down the fields using the read only condition where a record has been 'approved'. So, I turned off all of the fields and hid the update button.
    Now they want me to check to see if the user is a manager, and if so, allow them to see the update button, and make a single field on the form modifiable.
    I have the user identified as a manager, and can make the field accept the change (a yes/no combo box). Yet when they click the update button, the form just sits there. A branch is supposed to fire on hitting that button, taking them back to the previous report, but it doesn't happen. The source of the combo box in question uses a column on the table, and works fine when the form has all of the fields showing for modification.
    I had some validations that I finally set to never fire, thinking that they were failing and just not giving the error messages. I know a bad sql or pl/sql atatement in a validation will cause the form to just keep sitting there doing nothing, and thought it might help.
    Several of the various fields are combo boxes, several are text boxes.
    I'm stumped.
    Shall I keep the regular update button hidden whether it is a manager or not (because it has been 'approved'), and enable a new button that fires off a process to update the one field that the manager may want to change? Does making a field 'read only' always have a detrimental effect on the auto processes I've been counting on? Is that if fact what is happening now?
    Thanks in advance for any advice or comments on this.
    Clayton

    Hi, Scott.
    My version is 3.0.0.00.20
    I have received info to set up the application, though I have not activated it as yet. I'm reluctant to try to load up the various tables to make it work. It could be done.
    My workaround is to that the user (a manager) fires off to another form to show an individual record, and ask if he/she really wants to make this change. On submit, they will be taken back to the original locked down form, and I will update the single field in that process of returning them. This will actually be a plus, in that I expect to show them all of the 'duplicate' entries for that item, and show them that by 'activating' this particular item, they will 'deactivate' the one duplicate that is currently active. Or, if they are deactivating the sole item that is active, that there will in fact be no active items in the system. Convoluted as heck, but they swear this is how they've been doing business with their briefcases and file cabinets of Excel files. I'm surprise they even float at this point (these are ships we're talking about).
    This all may be due to the form originally having a next/previous/count process once arrived at my clicking on the edit button of the report of items. All of that has been hidden away, and though the fields exist of the form, they are not used. They only see the current item that they clicked on from the report.
    I read up a little on session state, as well as posts with the debug error I was getting. I'm still not on board with the whole issue of 'state'. Items stay as they are until they're changed, no? I suppose that sounds simplistic.
    One of the things that caught my eye was several combo box lists that on read only mode, showed [] square brackets. Which, in some cases is okay.
    What I'll try to do is set up a public application - for future use if nothing else. I'm going to be working on this for awhile. I have more than a bit of work to do to cleanse the data as well as get rid of the single sign on requirement (I'll assume that I should have to do this) in order to share the app.
    I know you're expecting me to have this up and running for you to look at, but I'm under the gun. And they actually like my workaround.
    I'll keep everybody informed, one way or another.
    Clayton
