Forth call from the helpdesk today... still no changes or fix.
Here's my problem. 6:15am I run a speedtest on my iPhone using the Namesco London server on speedtest.net, download speed is an acceptable 52Mbps d/l and 16.7Mbps u/l.
Go to work and come home at 17:30. Same London server on the same speedtest.net app, download is now 3.52 d/l and 16.05 u/l.
I've text BT for the 4th time, got the same speedchecks on btwholesale, slightly faster connect down of 9Mbps d/l and 10Mbps u/l. Again, rebooted the HH5. Repeated the speedchecks and got to the end of the script, told it could be my antivirus, other software on my machine or vpn... neither of which apply on my Apple machine.
Please, Please, PLEASE can this get sorted. Any use of the internet at night to stream iPlayer is greeted with pauses after 5 seconds play time. Using Sky's catch servers let me download 6% of a HD BBC program I missed in 1.5 hours. This should take minutes to complete if the TV adverts are to be believed. It's getting to the point I'm going to hold back payment, get you to reboot your accounts system, checks it's going fast enough after it comes back on and then say it must be the bank you are using as it's all fine at my end.
To help here are the screen shots of your speedtest and also my router sync... If there is not a problem on your system then please revert me back to Sky again. I only got 16Mbps down and 1Mpbs up but at least I got what I was paying for.

From your connect speed it looks like you have a good connection, but that can be confiirmed by going to the troubleshooting section of the HH5 and looking at the statistics for the max up/down and actual up down sync speed in the helpdesk tab.
I think a possible explanation is that someone or something else could be using the bandwidth through your hub, or that the hub is being overwhelmed (the log in the troubleshooting section of the HH5 may give some clues).
For example, have you checked that the public wireless is not active? You can check this by trying to access BTWifi yourself using your mac rather than relying on the hub being accurate about its reporting of open wifi state.
If you have access to an openreach modem then plugging it either directly into your mac (PPPoE, firewall carefully or boot something that you will never use again in case it is compromised) or use the HH5 with the openreach modem plugged into the red port and your mac into the HH5 as normal internet.
Using a separate modem would allow you to restart the homehub without the modem re-training if some aspect of the HH5 firewalling is degrading and needing re-starts.

I have now purchased a new computer and am trying to use the Time Machine back ups from the original computer, but it will not recognise them. How can I get my new MacBook Pro to use the Time Machine Backups from my old Computer? I phoned the Apple help line and they said I cannot use them and would have to delete them. This sounds crazy if you can only use the Time Machine back up file with one computer and have to delete it when you buy a new Mac. Surely there must be some way to transfer ownership (not files) from an old to the new Mac?

It seems as though I am not alone with my frustration with the way Time Machine uses the MAC address of a computer to tell one system from another. This means that if you have your Mac repaired with a new logic board, or replace your system with a new one, you can't resume backups where you left off. Reading through the readers who used the fix using Terminal, it appears that the fix does not always work. I contacted Apple again, but they were no help. Surely Apple should come out with a solution as more and more people use Time Machine/Time Capsule.
It is CRAZY that after a change computers or a switch in the computer logic board that you cannot resume your Time Machine back ups.

Can I use my Time Capsule for WiFi parental control. The objective first is to use a time clock to control internet access (completely on or off). Second objective is to use the Time Capsule which is also the WiFi router for more selective internet control? Anyone out there have any tips on making this work? We have Time Warner cable feeding the house internet, which is then corrected to the 2Tb Time Capsule which also provides our WiFi. Any information including other alternatives would be most appreciated. Surely we are not the only parents on the planet with this issue. Thanks very much!

Most devices have the AirPort ID or MAC Address or Hardware Address printed on the back or bottom of the device
Otherwise, you can learn the correct number by process of elimination. Turn off all wireless devices except your Mac computer....if it is connecting using wireless.
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click on the Time Capsule icon
Look for Wireless Clients and click on the numerical IP address that is displayed
Another box will open
Look for the Hardware Address. It will be displayed as xx : xx : xx : xx :xx : xx
Write that down and note that it is your Mac.
Now, connect another wireless device and repeat the sequence. Click on the "other" listing that you see to find out more info about that device. Write down the ID or Address and note what device it is. Then power it off.
Do the same for each wireless device that you want to have limited access.
Post back when you have all the info.

Can't visualize the time on the weekly view on ical

I have a similar problem, have endured several calls to apple care, two trips into the genius bar, had 2 computers rebuilt and after all that, the first sync with MobileMe restored the problem. My profile/preferences only recognises the hour 5:00AM and the hour markers on the day view and week view all say Sat AM, Sat PM in every hour. Please help. This is driving me crazy. I am working on application, when i have written a process to send mail, i have a project where i have to send mail at a time for all the email id's
given list there are upto 5000 email id's where text body also include certain set of data from a report. thinking at a time 3000 its difficult i divided
it region wise, but still each region have 2000 odd email id's. during testing when i run the process just 950 mails i could send then i got a error
saying "ORA-20001: You have exceeded the maximum number of email messages per workspace. Please contact your administrator." so please
can any one help me to know How many mails i can send at a time per day using APEX mail system?

You are getting the error may be the following reason,
Check the following,
Login as ADMIN and Goto -->Manage Instance-->Instance Settings--> Mail-->Maximum Emails per workspace
Actually this number denotes the Number of mails can be sent per 24 hour for the workspace,It may exceeded.
It may be the reason.

Can not see the Time Capsule disc in Time Machine what can I do??????

I just set up my new TC with my MacBook Air. The Wireless network is working fine but I can not find (see) the TC hard drive on my MacBook air so I can not set up Time Machine to back up my stuff. :=(

You need to add that attribute using the config tool for your view configuration. Select the attribute All Day from the context node BTDATE in the available fields to your display field and then save it. It should now be visible in your UI and now you can select or uncheck it to make the time field enable. Check the below image

Load airport utility for windows.. which will also load bonjour for windows.
In windows explorer type \\TCname or \\TCipaddress (replacing with the actual values.. names with spaces will give you trouble so change all names in the TC to SMB compatible or actual ip address).

I'd suggest you consider a cloud-based file sharing service such as Dropbox for this sort of use. iOS is not designed to be synched with more than one iTunes library at a time, so attempting to use it as you describe, connecting a single iPad to multiple computers, almost certainly won't work as you intend and is likely to cause nothing but headaches.

I booted from my recovery partition, erased my HD, installed the same OS, (Lion, 10.7.5) then restored from my TM.
If it asks if i want to use TM, I say yes. When I chose the drive, it seems to want to start all over, instead of just picking up where I left off.

When you open iCal what do you see? Are the calendars the two default Home and Work ones?
