Surely SOMEONE HAS SEEN THIS BEHAVIOR??? Distorted Add Remove control!

Lots of people have VIEWED this posting since I first posted it on Nov 30th,
but I can't believe that NOBODY ELSE HAS SEEN THIS BEHAVIOR!
So here it is again....
Can anyone tell me why on some pc's my Add Remove list control appears stretched out - that is, the right-side 'selected' list box will extend to the left covering the add/remove buttons and the same 'selected' box is only half drawn from the left side (right side missing), including the title being truncated, and the title is then duplicated to the right in its entirety. (It is hard to describe but I can provide a screenshot if needed).
As soon as an item is selected or de-selected, it re-adjusts itself to normalcy!
It seems to be a browser independent problem which ONLY happens on SOME pc's and NEVER on others! This leads me to suspect an out-of-date jar or class file on the local pc but I can't seem to find anything inconsistent.
CAN ANYONE HELP?! It is preventing us from putting this page into production and I would hate to have to write my own replacement, as it would take more time than we have.

PS - I have tried REPEATEDLY to add some Duke Dollars to this submission to no avail! The link just goes to a Pge Not Found or something similar

As I mentioned in my original post, it seems to be a non-browser related problem - that is it shows up MOSTLY in IE, but has been seen also in Firefox.
Any suggestions on what further to check would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!

If I've understood you correctly I've never known this or anything else to take that long? What were you trying to do exactly?

Any Correlation / Has anyone seen this behavior?

I ran a scan using the MAP toolkit with Active Directory as the inventory method on Monday to start our true up process. Then, that afternoon and today I have had a handful of users suddenly lose their activation in Office 2010 / Lync 2013.
Has anyone else seen this behavior? I am trying to isolate the issue, and I am wondering if it has to do with how we include the activation for Office in our imaging solution. In my previous organization, we added the product key, but we did not activate
Office, which it seems is not the case now.
Thoughts?

Has anyone else seen this behavior with MobileMe since iOS4?

First some explanation. I have two different push mail accounts on my iPhone. A MobileMe account and an Exchange account. They are both receiving push mail, calendar entries, and contacts.
Now, on the Exchange account, when I receive a message, the new message badge shows up on the iPhone. This is good, and the expected behavior. If I then go and read and / or delete that message in say Outlook or through Outlook Web Access, the message status also updates on the iPhone nearly instantaneously, again this is the expected and desired behavior. Any changes made in mail are also pushed to the iPhone in the background and in very short order.
Now, the MobileMe account is NOT doing this. Sure, when I get a new message, that message is placed on the iPhone and the badge is updated. However, if I then read and / or delete that message while using say the MobileMe Web App or the mail application on my Mac, that change is never reflected on the iPhone. So the badge never changes and the messages are not changed or removed from the device. This is NOT the desired behavior, and not what I remember pre iOS 4. It is not until I open the mail app on the iPhone that the inbox finally updates to reflect the changes made in the inbox or other folders.
So, has anyone else noticed this? Can someone else test this to see if they too are having this issue. I tried to report it to MobileMe support, but only got the standard script. The tech tried to help, but was not able to tell me what was going on or could not understand what I was trying to tell him. I suspect this is an issue on either the sync servers for MobileMe or the mail servers for MobileMe or both.

Windows 2000 prof. I noticed that I have both versions 3.6 and 6.02 installed when i checked the this in the add/remove program in the control panel. Can i remove the v3.6?

I have windows 2000 professional operating system version 5.0.2195 service pack 4 build 2195. I usually logged on as "user1". When i clicked on firefox it will try to install update but will return a message that update cannot be installed "please make sure that there are no other copies of firefox running on your computer". But there are no other copies of firefox running.
I checked the add/remove program in the control panel and found out that I have ver3.6.10 and ver6.0.2 installed.
Can i remove the ver3.6.10 using the uninstall button in the add/remove program?
Another problem is that I cannot logged in as "administrator".
When i logged in as "administrator" the computer just shut down and restart by itself while loading my desktop icons.

The normal method is simply
* Help -> Check for Updates
on Firefox (Window XP)

You should be able to delete Firefox and remove it, from your Windows XP control panel although that may not be what you intend.
If you have doubts about compatibility stay with Firefox3.6 for now.
Some software extensions will currently have problems with firefox 4 (and that iircc may include some versions of silverlight )
Do NOT use any delete settings (or whatever it is worded) that will loose all your passwords and bookmarks.
BTW the safe mode in relation to Firefox is a totally different concept from Windows safe mode, but you probably have no need to use either of them.

On an ordinary upgrade Firefox will preserve your profile details which include bookmarks any passwords.
You should have no problems in installing Firefox 4. You should be able to install firefox 4, and retain any bookmarks etc that were used in firefox 3.6, but sometimes extensions may be incompatible.

TV adapter playing up -- surely someone has an answer!

Why won't my iBook's tv adapter work?
This problem has been bugging me for nearly a year. I've asked the question in nearly every mac forum I could find (I even asked here) -- but no one has offered me a solution.
...I bought a video adapter from the apple store.
For the first few weeks, it worked fine. After plugging the adapter into my iBook (G4, 1.2 gigs, 10.3.9), I had the option to change my display preference between NTSC/PAL.
One day, whilst using Quicktime (I think I was launching th application at the time) I unplugged the adapter. When I plugged it back in, the picture on the television became flickery and scrambled.
I looked at my display preferences and instead of having the NTSC/PAL options, my iBook was now detecting the adapter as an external VGA display and I was given a load of resolution and refresh rate options as if it was connected to an external monitor (none of these options work with the TV)... but no NTSC/PAL.
This continues.
I've tried unplugging, restarting, unplugging in sleep mode, restarting plugged in/un-plugged, resetting PRAM, repairing permissions... nothing seems to fix it...
Anyone?

I have the exact same problem. I've searched high and low for an answer. Many people seem to have this problem - just check the "display" forum here...
I believe mine stopped working while installing one of the latest security fixes but it seems to have scrambled something deeper as the problem cannot be fixed by reinstalling OS X.
I've also reset the pram and pmu. Does apple read these forums??? Time for a fix, guys!
iBook G4 Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Error: This disk needs to be repaired using the Recovery HD. When I boot on Recovery and run verify disk, the error doesn't come anymore. Just when I run verify disk on normal mode. Anybody has seen this before?

My Macbook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2013) has been freezing out of the blue probably once every two months. I restarted on safe mode, went to Disk Utility, repaired permissions and ran "Verify Disk" and got the following:
Invalid directory item count(It should be 114483 instead of 114484)
File system check exit code is 8.
Error: This disk needs to be repaired using the Recovery HD. Restart your computer, holding down the Command key and the R key until you see the Apple logo. When the OS X Utilities window appears, choose Disk Utility.
Rebooted on Recovery mode and ran "Verify Disk" but the message didn't appear anymore, thus not letting me to access the "Recovery HD" procedure.
When I restart normally and do the disk verification I get the same error.
Has anybody come to something similar?

I never ever run a Verify Disk. I simple repair the disk drive and then the user partition(s).
And do one or two Safe Boots.
Also helpful to have two full backups: TimeMachine at least, plus a clone of your system drive and data.
Install or clone the system to an external hard drive, repair that and then boot from it, check that everything works, repair the internal drive.
You need to use Repair to TRIM an SSD.
Lots of problems with Yosemite when updating install a new OS. Always better to backup, erase, install, and then use Setup Assistant to import and restore settings and files.
Probably better to post in the MacBook Pro forum or better yet, in Yosemite forum.

Why is iTunes so difficult to use? It is time consuming and not at all intuitive. I will me complaining as much as possible until this is fixed. We should be able to drag songs to a playlist...surely technology has come this far has it not??

So discourraged with iTunes that I'm debating getting myself and my kids different phones... shouldn't be this difficult... I end up with my sons music and he with mine... both of us are disgusted...had enough.

Until 3 months ago (when I bought a $10 no-contract phone for emergency use only) if somebody lent me their cellphone to make a call I had no idea how to do so. I would get them to dial a number, talk, then I would hand it back to them to hang up. Even now if my wife gives me her iPhone to make a call I have to ask her to do it because I have no devices of any kind that have touchscreens. The timer went off the other day when she was out of the house and I somehow managed to get the thing quiet.
In comparison I have answered several thousand questions about many computer systems and applications on the ASC forums. It's all a matter of familiarity and need.

Has anyone else has seen this problem with their iPod touch 5th Generation with iOS 7.0.4. My screen started making flashing white lines across the screen, then went dim, then pixeled with purples

The ipod will show flashing white lines across the screen, going down, it then does somthing where the screen will dim down but its not like when the backlight goes on and its about to lock. It dims the background of your ipod and the icons and letters kind of all look defined. Then the ipod gets all pixelized and it has big boxes on pixels and its all differnt colors like purples and greens, red, etc. then it turns right off and restarts itself less than 5 seconds later. These things happen really fast but when it does it's really weird. It first happened 3 times in a row, Its still continuing to happen but i can manually turn off my ipod by holding the lock button down and not even 30 seconds later it's like its possessed and it turns on by itself. I talked to somone on appel and they told me to back it up and restore it. I restored it and as soon as the process ended and tuirned on like a brand new ipod and like clockwork the glitch happened instantly. It did it a couple of times throughout the night and i kept having to watch it so i can keep turning it off manually because it continues to turn on by itself. I talked to 3 different people on Apple Support and they couldnt even find an answer for me. It's so weird.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

If you restored to factory settings/new iPod via iTunes (Not via Settings>General>Reset>Erase all Content and Setting) and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.

When I try to install itunes i get this pop up "procedure entry point ADadPolicyEngine_DidEnterStation could not be located in the dynamic link library iAdCore.dll". please help if anyone has seen this before.

See iTunes launch errors caused by iAdCore.dll.

Wondering if anyone else has seen this?

We have a user who is running Crystal Reports Viewer. The user is trying to print to a Zebra ZXP Series 7 card printer. Whenever they click on print, they receive this message:
Your file waiting to be printed was deleted.
Not sure if this relates to Crystal Reports or if it is Windows 7 issue. Thanks in advance

Now that's a new one....
Possibly your AV software is blocking the print job.
You would have to enable application logging possibly using Process Monitor to see what is happening.
Try logging into your PC as a Local PC Administrator, may give you rights to continue printing.

Anyone seen this behavior installing OVM Manager 3.0.2?

I ran the ./createOracle.sh script.
I then ran the ./runInstaller.sh as the root user.
Looks to me like it installed all 9 parts
The last message I have is:
Oracle VM Manager installed.
Trying ...
Trying ...
Trying ...
Trying ...
Trying ...
It's just stuck here now, re-trying every 15 seconds.
I'm not sure where the log file is or what to do at this point.
