SVN support in JDev 9.0.5???

Hi!
I was wondering if there's svn support on JDev 9.0.5.16.27? (our team has already tried cvs and didn't like it) I've been looking for some information about it, but I couldn't find anything. Could anyone help me with some urls?
In case there's no support, I'ld like to know if there's a lot of difference between jdev 9.0.5 and 10g in case we decide to migrate to this version.
Thanks in advance, have a nice day!

  • Svn support in Oracle BPM 10.3 Studio

I am trying to use the SVN support of the Studio, but for some reason, neither of the the SVN Interface happen to be installed.
In the menu, in Window > Preferences > Team > SVN the SVN inteface client appears:
    SVNKit (Pure Java) Not Available
    JavaHL (JNI) Not Available
Im running Oracle BPM 10.3.1 in Ubuntu 8.10
also JavaHL packages seems to be installed correctly (apt-get install libsvn-javahl).
Any idea? Is someone being able to use the SVN feature in linux?
    Thanks
    Pablo

    Hi there
We use SVN with OBPM 10.3.
I had to disable the subclipse - Mylyn plugin before updating/installing the Installed products from Find and Install.
    It worked.

  • Design Patterns Support in Jdev 10.1.3?

Is Design Patterns Support included as part of JDev 10.1.3. I have seen this support in SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio where you have the option of converting existing classes to implement a certain J2EE/J2SE Design Pattern or create a new class(es) to implement a Design Pattern. I believe TogetherSoft has this support.
Any chances this request is consider in the next major release of JDev 10.1.3?

    Dear Shmeltzer,
My company just begins the migration from Oracle Form-based application to pure Java EE one. We will be using JDeveloper v10.1.3, persuaded by it fast GUI building, data-binding features. Before that, we have been trying out Eclipse & JBoss.
We are going to use Swing & JSF for client, and JavaEE 5 for midtier. Persistence layer, will be JPA (EJB3 entity bean persistence) and Spring Framework DAO support. Spring DAO is interesting bcos it gives a consistent style of API (we want to support both JDBC & JPA) and consistent Exception hierarchy too. So our midtier will be partitioned (roughly according to Fowler's patterns) into 3 layers: Service, Domain/Biz Object, Data Access. Thus far is pretty standard.
We are still pretty new to this ADF, and are still exploring.
Now, my initial impression with ADF is that it seems to interfere too much with the kind of pattern we had in mind. The fact that ADF hides too much details from us programmers scares me -- it becomes restrictive and we are helpless as to what are going on inside (with those xml, dcx, etc). For e.g. talk about Service Locator pattern, and we cannot seem to figure out how/where it is implemented. Using ADF Data Control and Biz Components will make all the design patterns "disappear" -- we dont see DAO classes anymore bcos it has been automated. It looks more like 2-tier client-server pattern to me. :-)
We are interested to use ADF data-binding features, so
    1) Is it still advisable to use Spring DAO layer?
    2) Is it possible to just use ADF in the Client / web tier, while the EJB container remains free of ADF technologies?
    Regards.

  • Problem installing SVN extension in Jdev

    Hi,
I am running Jdev Studio Edition 10.1.3.3.0.3 (This is Jdev with Oracle Application components version)
I am trying to install the extension for SVN
extensions as I understand it are
VCS framework extension (I have successfully installed oracle.jdeveloper.vcs version 10.3.41.57 which has a pre-req of oracle.jdeveloper version of 10.3.41.57 which I have)
    Subversion VCS Extension version 10.3.41.57 which has a pre-req of oracle.jdeveloper.vcs 10.3.41.57)
From what I see it should be compatible however after restarting jdev upon completing the Subversion Extension install the extension is not registered in the "About" screen and I cannot see the extension jar in the jdev extension directory?
There are no errors or problems during the install process.
Has anyone got any ideas what the problem maybe?
    Thanks
    Keith

Im not sure what the issue was here but I have manually copied the bundle file to the extension directory in jdev and it is now working!

  • SVN support

Is there any plugin to make Flash 8 support SVN(Subversion)
    in "project"
I only saw that support FTP and Visual SourceSafe but none of
    the others in site definition
is Flash 9(CS3) will support for others third party version
    control system?
    thankyou

As far as I know the only change in the Project panel itself
is support for Adobe Version Cue.
Of course, others have found ways to make Flash work with
    their version control systems (
    http://rantworld.blogs.com/flashlit/2003/12/version_control.html,
    for example).
    And some are using SVN:
    http://osflash.org/admin/new_project
(just not in the Flash Projects panel itself...)

  • Poor linux support of Jdev 9.0.3

I am not sure why JDev 9.0.3 has such poor support for linux . In the docs it says that the profiler and
code coach only works in windows and the debugger runs slow in linux.
I dont understand this since the JDev is written in Java then what is the issue.
I thought Oracles commitment to Linux was serious. I am moving my Dev Env to linux
and if JDev has such poor support for linux I may have to look at another IDE.
    thanks
    Sarwar

The profiler and code coach require the Oracle Java VM (which is currently only available on Windows, but we're working on it).
The debugger is slower against hotspot than our own VM (so debugging on Linux will be slower no matter which IDE you use).
You can profile a VM running on Windows from your Linux IDE (which is what I normally do).
    Hope this helps,
    Rob

  • Windows 98 support of JDev 3.x

    To JDev team:
Does JDev 3.x support Windows 98. If it does, to what extent? If have heard several remarks regarding JDev and 98. Just wanted to be clear before I recommend my team.
    Tommy

    Tommy,
While JDeveloper will run on Windows 98, we did not certify on that platform, therefore, we do not 'support' it. Meaning, if you find bugs on Win98 that are specific to Win98, we do not fix them.
We certify on Windows NT and 2000 for our 3.x releases.
Areas that are especially vulnerable on Windows 98 include debugging.
Our next release (JDeveloper9i), will be an All Java release. It should be available in Beta sometime this summer (subject to change, of course!).

Also according to the link in step 6, I need to modify weblogic.xml to add given entries. So I add the required lines in weblogic.xml found at C:\Users\Nano\AppData\Roaming\JDeveloper\system11.1.1.3.37.56.60\o.j2ee\drs\springapp\NewProjWebApp.war\WEB-INF
But when I try to run application, my changes are overwritten and it again contains whatever it had before my changes.
Can you please tell me am I editing the right file and why its contents are overwritten?

  • SVN support in CFB leaves something to be desired

One of the nice features about CFB is its ability to link to source files outside of the project folder.  I prefer this to what I would normally do in CFEclipse, where the project folder and the source folder were the same.
What's no so good is that I can't check in/out of files in SVN from the Navigator view that are linked in this way, which basically prevents SVN from having any use in CFB.  Note this is for LINKED source files, not files that are in the project folder.
Possibly there's something config-wise that can be done with this - any suggestions appreciated.

My old DSL modem/wireless router had started to experience problems (requiring a power down a couple of times a week), so I decided to purchase a separate DSL model and wireless router. This one came from a name manufacturer and the price (since it was refurbished) was very good.
My old modem/wireless router (with g-band WiFi) wasn't strong enough to get to the other end of our house: we live in a ranch and the computer equipment is on one end of the house. I was hoping that wireless n would give better range, but didn't find that to be the case, with this device anyway. I've relocated it at a higher place (on a bookshelf) and sometimes get a usable signal in the other end of the house but it isn't consistent. I will say, however, that it is faster when I do have a signal.
I'm not sure I would buy this again. I might spend a little more and get a more powerful device.
Did you check if it's in the latest firmware?

  • Status of uml 2.0 support in jdev 10g and 11g

    Hi,
What's the status of UML 2.0 support in JDeveloper 10g and 11g?
    Thanks,
    Matt

I was particularly looking for the capability to have "Combined Fragments" in sequence diagrams to express looping and other control structures. Here's a good article about combined fragments:
    http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/rational/library/3101.html
Also having the ability to reuse sequences in UML 2.0 is an important concept.
In the past I have also looked for support for component and deployment diagrams in JDeveloper. This is important to us to explain the design of systems.
    Thanks,
    Matt

  • Branches in Jdeveloper???

hello! I'm using JDeveloper with subversion, I want to create branches of a project. I read about a branches dialog which I cant find. I know there's a command, but I would like to work just in JDeveloper.
Do I need to update subversion or jdeveloper or collabnet to get it? I could use some help with tags too ;)
    I have jdeveloper 10.1.3, svn 1.5.6 collabnet 1.6.1.2

    Thanks!
I've tryed jdev 11g and it works fine, also its easier to integrate svn, but it needs 2gb and other requirements that doesnt meet the ones on our developer's computers.... I was wondering if there's svn support on JDev 9.0.5.16.27? (they've already tried cvs and didn't like it) I've been looking for some information about it, but I couldn't find anything. Could anyone help me with some urls?
In case there's no support, I also need to know if there's a lot of difference between jdev 9.0.5 and 10g in case we decide to migrate to this version.
Thanks in advance, have a nice day!

  • JDev 10.1.3.3 and WebCenter - Error running WSRP Standalone Portlet

Hello: I am working with JDev 10.1.3.3 w/ the WebCenter extension on my WinXP PC. I have viewed the WebCenter How-To Demos (http://www.oracle.com/products/middleware/webcenter.html) and am replicating them in JDev. All is working except for the last in the Veeva Vacation demos (Building & Deploying Standards-Based Portlets). I followed the demo and successfully (so I thought) created an entry point, deployed the standalone portlet and registered the portlet producer. I dragged the VeevaProducer to the JSF page. Then with my Preconfigured OC4J running I tried to run the jspx page. Instead of seeing the application page, an error page appeared "Error instantiating web-application".
    The first error description is:
"Error compiling :C:\Oracle\jdev10133\jdev\Veeva\ViewController\public_html: Syntax error in source or compilation failed in: C:\Oracle\jdev10133\jdev\system\oracle.j2ee.10.1.3.41.57\embedded-oc4j\application-deployments\current-workspace-app\Project1\oracle\portlet\wsrp\v2\soap\UnsupportedLocale.java C:\Oracle\jdev10133\jdev\system\oracle.j2ee.10.1.3.41.57\embedded-oc4j\application-deployments\current-workspace-app\Project1\oasis\names\tc\wsrp\v1\bind\runtime\WSRP_v1_PortletManagement_Binding_SOAP_Stub.java:35: error #300: WSRP_v1_PortletManagement_PortType not found in class oasis.names.tc.wsrp.v1.bind.runtime.WSRP_v1_PortletManagement_Binding_SOAP_Stub

I don't know what that means! Your help will be appreciated.
    Thanks.

You can create EAR/WAR file from JDeveloper and then use the OC4J 10.1.2 managment console to deploy them to the server, there is no one-click-deploy support from JDev 10.1.3 to OC4J stand-alone 10.1.2

  • Jdev 10.1.3.2 and Standalone OC4J 10.1.2

    Hi,
I am trying to create an application server connection to a standalone OC4J (10.1.2) in JDeveloper 10.1.3.2.
In step 1 of the Create App Server connection I select Standalone OC4J 10.1.3. (Thinking that OC4J version 10.1.2 is configured similarly).
I fill in the required information in the remaining steps
(username and password, hostname etc..) but when I go to test the connection, the Testing Connection Status window just hangs, it appears no connection is being made and it just remains that way.
My standalone OC4J is up and running. It was started using the command java -jar oc4j.jar
Anyone have any ideas as to what is wrong ?
Are there any log files I can look at to try and resolve the problem ?
    Thanks,

  • Support for Creating Web Service from pl/sql package in JDeveloper 11

We have been creating all of our web services from pl/sql packages in our Oracle database using JDeveloper 10.1.3.1. I understand that this capability is not supported in Jdev 11. We have been mandated to either move up to JDeveloper 11, or consider switching to eclipse, or even VS2008 and run .NET services from IIS. I have seen work-around solutions using TopLink and Jdev 11. Are there plans to revive this feature in the near future? We're now looking at switching to .NET since we could scrap our OAS instances and use IIS to publish web services. The only reason we were sticking with Oracle was the ease in converting all our existing package to web services with Jdev.
Is anyone else in the same situation. If so, what solutions are you considering?

    Hi,
there are a lot of option to make plsql web services .
First you can stay with jdev 10.1.3
    Use the xmldb servlets
use jdev 11g tp4 to create plsql ws and upgrade to jdev 11g production
And I think in the next release of jdev it will be back , there are more options which disappeared like the adf bc sdo ws or jmx datacontrol etc.
    thanks Edwin

  • My jdev 10.1.2 CVS Workflow Solution

Well, I know many people here struggle with the awful mess that passes for CVS support in jdev. After many months, here is how we manage real work using integrated CVS in jdev 10.1.2 with more than 1 developer.
Our projects are struts/bc4j broken down into 2 projects in the workspace:
    model - contains only bc4j classes - entities/app module/vo's...
view - contains jsp, struts actions, web stuff, etc.
    Updating Model
Under project settings check 'scan source for project contents'
Select all your packages but not the root project node.
Right Click->Versioning->Update , check 'create new folders'
At this point you may have some conflicts you need to resolve, some xml files jdev will not allow you to edit, so you can either set up an exteneral app (i like cooktop) and right click to edit, or close jdev and fix your conflicts then.
The bc4j xml files (1 per package - packagename.xml) are xml files that list all the bc4j contents of that package, CVS has a hard time merging these files, so often you'll have to merge these by hand outside of jdev and then retart jdev to see your changes.
If you do not select 'scan source for project contents' then these xml files will never be updated and you'll end up having xml and java files for you bc4j objects, but not the appropriate bc4j object listed in the tree.
The application module almost always needs hand merging of it's xml file outside of jdev.
Once we're done with the update, go ahead and keeping all your packages selected do your adding/committing.
We never update the model.jpr file, each dev manages his/her own.
    View Project
The only big gotcha on this is never update your view.jpr file, be very careful before you do any updates because sometimes it will be snuck in to your update list. Since all the files in your view are just regular files/classes not bc4j objects your view tree will auto-update with new files. You don't have to manage the xml file yourself like in the model. This works fine the only downside is each dev must also manage their own libraries that are included since this info is stored in the jpr.
I wrote this up real quick because there is a lot of conflicting info on this forum about how to get CVS to work properly. This is just what works for our team, and we've been employing it for a few months with no major headaches. Another tip is to make sure you backup your jpr files often because if you do accidently update your jpr file and a conflict is found it can be a royal pain to hand merge the jpr yourself.
