Swap Image + Multiple Frames

New to FW ... figured out how to take a PS document and slice
it up and create simple rollovers (sliced image > created a
second frame for the rollover items/layers) ... now I need to
create a basic image swap (roll over thumbnail and larger pic
appears in center). I put each large picture / image in a new frame
- everything works fine - BUT - when I export, I'm getting slices
for every frame. Can I easily remove the web layer from the large
pic frames? I tried turning off the visibility but that didn't seem
to do the trick. Please advise! Would love a simple solution so I
don't have to take the time to delete all of the duplicate slices
in DW after the fact. THANKS.

Something like this?

  • Swap images that will work like frames

    Hello All,
I am hoping that someone might be able to point me in the
    right direction here.
I am constructing a site entirely in Fireworks and would like
the buttons that I've created to swap images once they are in down
state instead of swapping by mouse over. I have seen it done on
another page and would love to know how to do it. If anyone knows
    please leave me a reply.
    Thank You!

You would do this in Dreamweaver not Fireworks.
But I'm not entirely sure what "THIS" is! Can you say more
    about what you
    want to accomplish?

  • Two Swap Image Behaviors - Only One Swap Image Restore Works

    How come?
I have a button image with a two swap image behaviors applied to it - a rollover for the OVER state and one behavior for a disjointed or "remote" rollover effect.
Both rollover effects work fine, but the disjointed or remote rollover effect does not return the button to it's original state.  (I've determined this by removing the second or remote swap image behavior and testing it.)
    Why doesn't this work?
All scripts are contained within the HTML page itself; no linked scripts are used.
    Thanks!

  • Swap Image Looks fine in Firefox, not Safari? Can Javascript be an issue in Safari?

Hi, Im new to web design as you may guess.
I'm trying to put together a website navigation page with several swap image div tags. When I view the page in Firefox it looks fine, after the behavior is applied the page doesn't view at all in safari?
Can anyone please help with this?

  • Select multiple frames across multiple pages for photos frames

    Hi people!
How can i select multiple frames across multiple pages? I want my images to fit the frames by one click. I do not want to go through each page one by one . There must be some way to solve this.. or? Cant find a options that can do that so far?
    Useing Adobe Indesin CS6.
    thanks!

    You can't.
You can do it in Find/Change box. Set desired Frame Fitting Options in Object section and run find/change.

  • Swapping images - need to change size

I am trying to create a disjointed rollover so that when I
click on a picture thumbnail in one frame, the full-size image
changes on another frame (it is for a photo website - there are
about 20 thunbnails on a page and a space for only one full-size
    image).
It works perfectly fine with "Swap Images" behavior as long
as all full-size images are of the same size - you just set one of
the full-size images as an original as then swap images as you
click on different thumbnails. The problem I am struggling with is
that my full-size images are of different size - "Swap Images"
functions distorts them since it resizes all full-time images to
the same size. What is a solution?

You can do this many ways ways -
    1. Don't use swap image - use Show/Hide layer instead. Have
    the alternate
image in a hidden layer that is shown when the trigger is
    'tickled'. Using
this method you can have images that are any dimension.
    2. Use swap image, but remove the dimensions from the
    original image's tag,
    i.e., change this -
    <img name="original" width="150" height="220" ...
    to this -
    <img name="original" ...
Now when you swap in your offsize image, there is no
    predefined size to
change it to. Be aware that this method may well result in an
    unpleasant
and undesirable 'rearrangement' of your page layout as it
    adjusts to your
    new image's dimensions.
    3. Pad the smaller image with canvas background color on all
    sides so that
all the images *are the same size*.
    4. Use a SetTextofLayer (SetText of Element in CS3) behavior
    to change the
image reference in a layer (or non-positioned container)
    placed so that it
will show the desired larger image in the proper place.
    5. Use the PVII ShowPic extension -

or imagine you import large images sequence (200 hundred) and
need to reposition them all :)
The edit multiple frames options comes handy in such case...

  • With PE10 export multiple frames

Hi, is there a way in PE10 to export multiple frames to multiple jpg/bmp files, other than one freeze frame at a time.   Or is there a plug in that will do this?

You need to use Export As Sequence in the Share> Computer> Image advanced settings.

  • Render Multiple Frames Headache

I hope I could get some guidance on optimum usage of Render Mutiple Frames as I have been hitting a wall with little-to-no success so far. I have read all the Adobe suggestions (thanks Todd Kopriva) and I still get failed renders when trying to render multiple frames. I am the guinea pig for the hardware setup for the department. Currently, the hardware is a Lenovo ThinkStation C20X, dual Xeon 6-core 2.4 GHz processors (24 available to AE with hyper-threading), 96 Gb RAM (yes, ninety-six gigs), Win 7 Pro 64-bit, nVidia QUADRO 2000D, AE CS5.5. Our department currently works in an unusual AE project file that is used for display advertising on an unusually-shaped gigantic digital screen in Times Square. Currently, the working comp is 2517 x 4478 which is then nested into two comps for output of TGA sequences that are: TOP = 440 x 3694 and, BOTTOM = 2517 x 554. Most of the working comp space is deadspace as the layout of the signs is comparable to a large upside-down capital letter 'T'. We are currently in transition as the signs are hitting their life cycle and we are refreshing them with a finer pitch-count - in essence, we are doubling the resolution. The new working comp is 5034 x 8956 that is nested into our output comps which are: TOP = 852 x 7386 and BOTTOM = 5034 x 1098. For the most part we do not use "crazy" effects, etc. I have tried rendering multiple frames and have yet to get TOP & BOTTOM to both render without either one or both of them failing using various trial-and-error settings in the preferences; I have limited the # of cores (have yet to try to exceed 8 simultaneous CPUs). I edited the preferences file to allow me to select more RAM per CPU (currently, my pull-down has 4, 5, 6 & 8 Gb RAM per CPU available for me to choose from). Maybe I am going under the false assumption that filling the machine with 96 RAM would allow me to effectively use more CPUs in rendering TGA sequences. I thought that was the whole point. I usually get errors like the following:
    Output To: C:\Sonic RenderTest\Top\TOP_[####].tga
There is an error in background rendering so switching to foreground rendering after 41 frames completed out of total 900 frames. (26  ::  142)
After Effects warning: A frame failed to render while using Render Multiple Frames Simultaneously. Allocating more memory to the background processes in Memory & Multiprocessing Preferences may fix this problem. (26  ::  142)
Didn't think this was possible with 96Gb RAM and 8GB RAM per CPU allocated. Any guidance here is greatly appreciated as I am on the hook with the rest of the department and with my boss as I convinced him that 96 GB RAM would make our lives easier.

Thanks for the reply Dave. From the projects cited above, one had a QuickTime with Animation codec and the other had H.264. I think we are getting close to honing-in on the issues we are having as it seems that anything with a .MOV as a source file seems to throw AE MP rending for a loop. Currently using AE 5.5. Conversely, MP plays very nicely with projects that do not include a QuickTime file as a source; I have been doing extensive testing using the following settings; 16GB/CPU - 4 CPUs used, 12GB/CPU - 6 CPUs used, 10GB/CPU - 8 CPUs used, 8GB/CPU - 10 CPUs used and 6GB/CPU - 12 CPUs used.
I guess I still have a few questions remaining in trying to troubleshoot the issue at hand:
    - By any chance are there any MP improvements in CS 6 that may alleviate the issue we are experiencing?
    - I am wondering if I am hitting a bottleneck getting the info (.MOVs) into RAM - to be more specific regarding my setup, in addition to my previous post - My machine currently has two 250GB SAS drives @ 10K RPM that are RAID 0. Disk cache is set to the default settings. We are considering additional drives - thinking one for OS & Applications, 1 for source files and one for output of the image sequences. Any insight to drives, where to set the cache, types of drives (SSD drives fall out of budget for the machine I have - already priced and axed. I think we are considering two more 10K SAS drives as an option)?
    - This one is a longshot, but I thought I saw a crazy post somewhere in my research of this issue saying to get rid of QuickTime. I was always under the assumption that QuickTime was a vital prerequisite for AE. Any truth/validity in getting rid of QuickTIme?

  • Import multiple img to multiple frames

Hi all. What I want to do is import multiple images into
multiple frames. Geez this is hard to explain.
OK I am useing a 3D modeling and rendering program called
Blender to make some small animations. To get the effects I want I
am rendering the animations as a series of .PNG image files. Then
importing them to the library and placing them 1 at a time into
individual frames, this is tedious and time consuming.
I would like to be able to select more than 1 image then
place them onto the stage into individual keyframes.
Also after I would like to select all the frames and align
the images all at 1 time instead of 1 at a time, is this even
    posible.
I'm a Flash noobie, I have a pretty good handle on it for
only a couple of weeks experimenting with it. I just feel there has
to be a better way of doing what I want, the help and tutorials
    answer most of my ???s.

    Hi BoloMarkXXX,
You may want to try my "Distribute to keyframes" flash
    commands.

  • More Accurate antialiasing preventing rendering of multiple frames simultaneously after a while

    Hi all.
I am experiencing inconsistent memory management behavior when rendering my project in AE that prevents me from rendering multiple frames at the same time when some footage items use Accurate antialiasing.
I have an 8-core i7 MacBook Pro with 8GB of RAM and I'm using AE CS5.5. I am rendering a project with many imported Illustrator layers to keep things nice and crisp. These are in a 3D composition with a camera, DOF, and they are being continuously rasterized. On some of the vector assets I have to set the antialiasing setting to "More Accurate" in the Interpret Footage dialog to remedy some image quality issues. Here is what I noticed when rendering:
    1. When the antialiasing setting on all Illustrator assets is set to "Faster" the composition renders without issues.
    2. I change the antialiasing setting on some Illustrator assets to "More Accurate" to improve image quality. Render Multiple Frames Simultaneously is off. Composition renders for a while, but eventually I get an error: "after effects error : cannot allocate enough memory to antialias file (50:5)”.
    3. To get around the error I instruct AE to empty the cache every 5 frames or less via the Secret menu in the Prefs. This prevents the error from occuring and I can see the RAM being deallocated every once in a while as expected. This lets me render with the quality I need, but is slower.
    4. To speed things up I turn on Render Multiple Frames Simultaneously. I use conservative settings: AE is to use only two cores with 3GB of RAM per core (max allowed). The rendering is sped up. However, I can see that the system's "in use" RAM is steadily increasing with each rendered frame until the computer runs out, at which point AE automatically turns off Render Multiple Frames Simultaneously and starts to render one frame at a time. This doesn't happen whe all vector assets are set to use Faster antialiasing an I can render indefinitely with Render Multiple Frames Simultaneously, but this way I don't get the desired quality. Please note that there is enough RAM for the cores to render several frames, but it seems as if having rendered a frame the system doesn't release or reuse the memory when assets use Accurate antialiasing and goes to use another chunk until there is no more.
Also, I am outputing to an image sequence.
Please help me find a workaround for this issue. Thanks!

Thanks Mylenium. It looks like the underlying problem (cannot allocate enough memory to antialias file (50:5)) has been around for quite some time. I've tried all manner of different combinations of settings and in the end settled on having it render one frame at a time with dumping cache every 2 frames (hey, at least it renders without running out of ram and erroring out). It's just disheartening to know that due to this issue (bug or architecture) AE is only using a bit more than 1/8 of my machine's CPU power. Perhaps AE should have a feature that has it dump all the memory and attempt multi-frame output again every once in a while during make movie.

  • Help using swap images to swap 2 separate images

I am trying to use swap images to swap two separate images on
the same page but I can't get it to work. Here is the code for one
image, rotator. I also have a second image, rotatorB that I want to
swap different images with. I think I need two separate codes but
do not know how to do it.
    Thank You

Sorry, I don't know enough about how fireworks functions - but overall, I think it's always best to create the slices in a program like fireworks, (or image ready, etc), and then build the actual page in Dreamweaver (or other web software). It's kind of like how Photoshop used to let you create the slices, then export the entire photoshop file as an html page - it would create a very basic page with multiple nested tables that were nothing but trouble...
For what it's worth - Dreamweaver makes it fairly easy to do - once you're familiar it should only take a few minutes to accomplish (once you have all of the pieces saved to the images folder).
Fireworks isn't a web-creation software - it's function is to optimize images for the web, and slice up graphics (from what I know about it, anyway...)
**Also, on a side note - there are many disadvantages to creating buttons with graphics - number one reason is down the road when a client wants to add or modify the buttons, they will need the original photoshop file - and the fonts loaded in order to accomplish... then need to save out both the on and off state for each. I've been there, and they find it very annoying (known to lose customers because of it). Secondly, search engines and Handicap accessible software can't read graphics - even if you apply "alt tags", it's not as good as having a text link. If possible, it's best to use text for the links (and creating the rollover effects with stylesheets - there are tons of examples: http://search.live.com/results.aspx?q=css+rollover&form=MS8TDF&pc=MS8TDF&src=IE-SearchBox
    Hope that helps

  • Cropping to Visible Alpha of Multiple Frames

    Hi All,
I have set up some footage that has had its background removed via chroma key and I have added a drop shadow on the resultant 'cut out' footage. Now I want to crop the frame so that the minimum area that is needed to contain the footage and the drop shadow can be output with an alpha channel - ie any areas that are fully transparent on ALL the frames is cropped away.
There is a method in Photoshop where Cmd/Ctrl clicking on a layer selects the transparency of that layer which can then be cropped, removing all the invisible area that surrounds the image and contains no image data. Is there a way to do this in AE for multiple frames, without going through the nigh-impossible task of trying to estimate the area needed for a moving image that has a soft and transparent shadow without cropping the edges of the image off?
Once I have got the area I need, how would I go about applying the crop?
I'm new to AE, so I may be asking the impossible, but any advice would be greatly appreciated!

but I doubt PS would allow import of 5000 frames to corresponding layers.
Why not? People have doen crazier things and the Frames to Layers script should not care. It may just take a while. If all else fails, you can always try in multiple chunks in multiple documents and manually merge them later....
If the method you suggest is intended to work within AE, can you be more specific please?
    Region of Interest
If this is for one of those notorious transparent website overlays, you would still have a specific size requirement due to how it is embedded and keeping it "tight" is probably wasted effort, even more so as it only has minor impact on compression, anyways.

  • Swap Images and URLs at the Same Time

I would like to not only to swap images when one rolls over a thum image, but at the same time I would like to have a link swapped in the new image.  I am using behaviors to swap multiple images on a page.   So to be clear I have several thums that one can roll over.   When a thum is rolled over with the mouse a large image is swaped  in a different location on the page.   I would like to be able to attach a unique link to a URL to each of these new large images when they are swapped.

The link below will take you to a life page. In this example, the changing
text below the large changing image is in fact an image that is swaped out
as one moves the mouse over a thum on the right side of this page. This
changing text image will have an "Add to Cart" button. The button could be
part of the text or perhaps yet another image that changes as one moves
over the thums on the right. Here is where I need the help. As one clicks
on this text image that is changing (or changing button) I would like to
have a link associated with this image that will add the customors choice
of pillows to their cart. Need help with how to associate a unique link to
unique URLs with this changing text image.

  • Lock frame span when editing multiple frames?

I'm referring to the span of selected frames when in "Edit Multiple Frames" mode.
(I've attached an image of the thing I'm talking about.)
When I'm editing multiple frames, the multiple frame span "cursor"(?) always follows me around whenever I select a new frame on the timeline.
Is there a way to lock it in place or prevent it from constantly changing whenever a new frame is selected?

I think you're looking for the "anchor onion" option. Go to the button/menu directly to the right of the Edit Multiple Frames button, and choose "Anchor Onion" from the menu that pops up. That will keep the edit multiple markers stick in the same place.
    Hope that helps,
    Jen.
