.swf playback chppy at end of the movie

I have a player.swf which has play and a pause buttons. This
player loads external .swf movies. Each movie is about a minute
long and I cut them up into 3 to 5 movie clips. So, the movie's
main time line uses 3 to 5 frames, at the end of a movie clip I
tell it to go to the next frame in the main time line. The strange
part is on the the last frame of the main time or somewhere in the
last movie clip the animation freezes up, well sort of. It plays
really slow, almost like the pause was pressed for a minute then
the play button was click really quick then back to the minute long
pause. I'm having a really hard time finding the problem since the
majority of the time it plays fine. Please watch the movie and let
me know if it feezes up on the last part of each section. If
anybody know this problem or has any questions please let me know.

I barely noticed, but i do think I know what you're talking
about. The frame rate looks pretty low, like 12 fps. So if its what
I thought is was, the number zooming in at the end, I think it just
might be the ease in conjunction with fps that causes the stutter.
my 2 cents.

    Hello
    Simple problem - don,t know how to solve it.
    With Premiere CC when I try to do a selection (click... drag... release the click) very often it stop way before the end of the move I'm swinging the Magic Mouse. I taught that the mouse clicking was defective and went to get a new Magic Mouse after lots of frustration. Today, I have an edit to do it it does the SAME thing !!
    I was like ????#$%?&*(???
    Opened all the lights and taught I've trow the new mouse to the garbage and was using the defective mouse again... no !! - ??
    Actually, the bran new mouse is doing the same thing. What I understand after investigating on the motion and watching carefully my fingers !! -  is that when I click I have to keep my finger at the EXACT same place on the mouse... drag and release and it's fine. If I click by pushing on the mouse and my finder is moving of a 1/32th of a millimeter, it will release and my selection will be to redo. You can understand my frustration ! - 75$ later... same problem, but I know that if I click with about 5 pounds of pressure and trying to pass my finger through the plastic of the mouse, it you stay steady and make it !
    The problem is that scrolling is enable while clicking and it bugs.
    How to disable it ??
    Simple question - can't find the answer !

    Helllooo !?
    sorry but the Magic Mouse is just useless with the new Adobe Premiere CC and since I'm not the only one but can't find answer this is really disappointing. This mouse is just fantastic and now I have to swap from a USB mouse to the Magic Mouse every times I do some editing. My USB mouse if hurting my hand somehow and I want to got back to the Magic Mouse asap. Please - for sure there is a simple solution !
    Thanks !!

  • Timeline view restrictive on the end of the movie

    Hi Folks,
    I love Imovie and have been working with it for just two weeks. However, I am frustrated by how little room the timeline view gives you to work with on the right hand side. Meaning, the last clip bumps right up against the end of the timeline instead of leaving you a little space to put in your next clip or transition. Anyone know how to give yourself more room to work with at the end of the movie timeline?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi kloeffert:
    Welcome to discussions.
    I guess I have never seen that as a problem.
    Unfortunately, there is no way to show anything past the end of the timeline, but you can switch over to the "Clip-View" instead of "Timeline View". That way you will be able to see farther down.

  • Have the flash video activate a function at the end of the movie

    I have a movie that when it finishes playing I want a
    function to happen.
    It is a tutorial movie and I want to require the viewer to
    watch the whole video before
    they can click on the html to go to the next page. How do I
    do that?
    Thank you.

    Hi Nickterbeenan and Nickels55.
    I very much appreciate the help, and I have looked over this
    code, inserted the action script in the keyframe where the video
    resides, but I'm at a loss at what part I change to enable a js
    function to occur. Specifically, I want a "Next" button not to be
    activated (functional) until the last frame of the video is played.
    It looks like you have provided the code, but when Nichels55
    states:
    You can change this part of the code:
    _level0.play(); gotoAndPlay("37");
    to whatever you want to happen when the movie ends.
    I'm not sure what part of that code I can change. I do have a
    js coder on board with me. All I need to tell
    him is where, how and what he puts in the code to make his js
    do its magic.
    Your help is much appreciated, thank you.

  • I Can't get the motion page to play at the beginning of the movie, it old shows up at the end of the movie, Help!!

    Does someone know how to get the motion page in I-dvd to play at the beginning of the movie instead of at the end, which is what is happening with my situation??

    Are you referring to the motion menu?  Check to see if you have the project set to autoplay when you insert the disk in a player.  That would bypass the menu and would drop you back into the menu at the end of the show.

  • Automatically getURL at the end of a movie?

    I’ve been using Swift3D to create a splash page.
    I’ve imported the movie into Flash and worked out how to
    [stop();’] my movie from repeating. At the end of the movie I
    want it to another webpage in the same window.
    I’ve tried adding the getURL script in the last frame
    of my movie but I get this error in the output window:
    **Error** Symbol=movie.swf, layer=Layer 1, frame=59:Line 1:
    ')' or ',' expected
    getURL(http:/www.mysite.com/);
    The movie plays but the [stop();’] action is ignored
    and the movie continues to loop. I’ve tried putting the
    getURL before and after the [stop();’] action but I get the
    same error.
    So what am I doing wrong? I’m really new to this.

    Is this just because I’m testing the file on my local

  • Trigger actionscript from end of captivate movie

    Hi Guys,
    I'm going insane trying to work out how to trigger an
    actionscript event from the last slide of my Captivate movie.
    Basically I'm doing a product walk through which I am exporting as
    a swf an then dynamically loading into my flash file.
    I need to be able to detect when the externally loaded
    Captivate swf has completed playback so that I can then continue on
    with the rest of my flash movie.
    I have tried adding a swf in Captivate with actionscript to
    trigger the event at the end of the slide but it doesn't work?
    I have also tried exporting the whole thing as an fla and
    then re exporting it from Flash MX 2004 and the animation seems to
    get ruined and out of synch.
    Any ideas on how I can detect and trigger and AS event when
    the loaded Captivate swf has completed would be much appreciated.
    Thanks heaps for reading.
    Chris

    hi Chris
    i created a similar workaround. i ran into a number of issues
    when trying to call an actionscript function at the end of a
    Captivate swf. i determined that captivate is VERY picky about
    imported swfs. for instance, i had a single imported swf that
    contained an animated background and one line of actionscript, and
    it never worked. however, when i split it into two separate swfs
    (one just for graphics, one just for actionscript), it worked! go
    figure.
    i also noticed you have to be careful where you place it on
    the captivate timeline, depending on what you're trying to do. if
    you're calling an end-of-movie function, be sure the swf is only on
    the last few frames of the last slide. sometimes when i placed the
    actionscript swf on the first frame of my last slide it wouldn't
    work, but after moving it down a bit, it worked fine.
    lastly, i had to use "_root" to get mine working. i know many
    people consider it bad form, but if it works, it works. i did the
    following:
    1. created a function in my Flash interface named "endDemo()"
    2. created an empty Flash file with one line of actionscript:
    _root.endDemo();
    3. imported the swf into my captivate movie and placed it on
    the last few frames of the last slide.
    4. set my captivate movie prefs to stop at the end of the
    movie, and not to fade out.
    worked for me... good luck!

  • IDVD 08 audio/video sync drift toward end of DVD movie - fix/workaround?

    Anyone know how I can fix this issue? It's driving me crazy.
    I've just spent a few evenings in iMovie 08, editing together the video of my son's birth. All looked & amazingly good in iMovie. The "Large" .m4v file output by iMovie - Shared with the Media Browser - plays perfectly in Quicktime too.
    However, after adding that shared movie to iDVD 08, and burning a DVD, I noticed that the audio sync drifts toward the end of the Movie when plated back. At the start of the DVD all seems well, but by the end of the ~1hr 20 minute movie the audio is unbearably out of sync with the video. Completely unwatchable.
    After a little Googling I came across some reports that iDVD might not deal well with video that's been recorded with 12-bit audio. I've confirmed that my camcorder is (was!) set to 12-bit rather than 16-bit (the default, I'm sure). So if that's the problem I'm hosed... it's not like I can get a retake on that footage
    Is there a reasonable workaround for this issue? I'm obviously unable to re-take the video (or the other 10 hours of DV video tape I've yet to use in an iMovie project). Ideally I'd like Apple to release a patch for this. Shouldn't it be possible for iDVD to account for audio that was originally recorded in 12-bit... even if it's just a checkbox you have to select to tip it off?
    Then again, perhaps this is totally unrelated to the 12-bit issue, and this is just a run of the mill bug?
    As I said... iMovie generates a MPEG4 video file of the Movie that looks/sounds perfect, so it seems this sync issue's being created somewhere in iDVD as it's rendering the audio/video to burn to the DVD...
    Thanks in advance.

    I've tried most of the options I can think of, and the audio sync drift issue continues on this ~1hr 12 minute iMovie/iDVD 08 project.
    A couple of promising ideas tried used QT Pro, to export the audio track from the iMovie generated MPEG-4 file - as a WAV file, resampling to 48kHz and 16-bit... then Adding this back to the video track in the MPEG-4 file (having deleted the original audio track). In another test I also tried the Add to Selection and Scale option. Oddly enough I think the Add to Selection and Scale attempt generated more sync issues than before in the final DVD movie... so I stuck with the MPEG-4 file containing the video track and the added, resampled at 48kHz & 16 bit, WAV audio track.
    This was saved as a self contained Movie file, producing a QT .mov file. I moved this .mov file into the iDVD projects directory structure so that it was avalable in iDVD's Media Browser. I then reworked the iDVD project to use this QT large.mov file, instead of the original iMovie large.m4v file.
    As a reminder... the original large.m4v file has the following properties:
    29.97 FPS H.264 Decoder, 960 x 540, Millions
    AAC, Stereo (L R), 44.100 kHz
    0:01:12:07.16 duration
    The resampled and saved QT MOV file has the following properties:
    29.97 FPS H.264 Decoder, 960 x 540, Millions
    16-bit Integer (Little Endian), Stereo, 48.000 kHz
    0:01:12:07.16 duration
    BOTH versions of this Movie file play flawlessly within QT Pro... there's no audio sync drift evident toward the end of the movie unless I use iDVD 08 to burn either movie file to a Physical DVD (or DVD Disk Image). In both cases the resultant DVD Movie exhibits significant audio sync drift as the ~1hr 12 minute movie progresses. The sync goes out by ~ <= 1 second based on a rough visual assessment.
    I've not yet tried to burn either the original iMovie produced MPEG-4 video file or my QT Pro tweaked audio track .MOV file version to a DVD on my PC...
    ... But I have used an application called Burn (referenced in this earlier/archived iDVD sync drift forum post: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1332100 by user F Shippey - http://burn-osx.sourceforge.net/) to take the QT Pro tweaked .mov file version of the original MPEG-4 file and burn it to a DVD...
    Results:
    The Burn app burnt DVD plays with NO audio sync issues!... Even though it was generated from the same audio tweaked (48kHz/16-bit resampled) QT Pro .mov file.
    However, whenever I burn a DVD using iDVD 08 the audio sync gradually drifts. It matters not whether I use the original iMovie 08 generated MPEG-4 movie file, or the QT Pro version of that file with the resampled audio track (the same one that works fine with Burn).
    It sure looks to me like iDVD has a problem... Again, refer to http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1332100 for someone else who seems to have run into similar challenges.
    Am I overlooking something?
    Thanks in advance.

  • How can I do position maintenance using a digital input to capture an encoder count and adjust the move profile on the fly.

    I have a rotary table (45:1 ratio) being driven by a stepper motor. I am using a 7344 motion controller. I want to be able to do position maintenance on the move. I have a home input on the table. My thoughts were to capture the position when the table goes by the home input and compare it with the previous time and make the adjustment in the next move. I am just not sure what the best way to do this is. I am thinking that I want to tie the home input to one of the trigger inputs as well as the home.

    Hello,
    Your best option will be to use an encoder for feedback in your system. If you use an encoder then at the end of the move, the controller will compare your trajectory position with the position the encoder reads (the actual position) and make the necessary adjustments. Also, this is all handled transparently so you won't have to worry about any complicated programming issues.

    You may not be able to get a refund, since the terms of sale for the iTunes Store state that all sales are final. You can contact the iTunes Store, explain the reason for your request, and ask, though:

    It's possible they'll make an exception for you, particularly if the problem was on their end preventing the movie from downloading in a reasonable time.

  • Show image at end of encoded movie

    I have encoded a wma movie and have it streaming on a page.
    Thing is the screen goes black at the end of the movie. I don't
    want to repeat the movie, rather I would like to display a jpg once
    the movie has finished. I'm assuming I need to use a cue point, but
    I have no idea what the parameters mean or what event type I should
    use or any of that. It seems like this should be simple but I
    cannot figure it out. Any help is appreciated.

    hi werdup - there is another, better way, which I use instead of Still-Frame, but it needs QT Pro - have you got this? If not it's well worth buying.
    1. Drag the clip to the Desktop - this creates a QT copy of it.
    2. Double-Click it - this opens it in QTPro.
    3. Drag the playhead to the far right end, and go Edit>Trim to Selection.
    4. Go Command-C (to copy it), then Command-P (to paste it) - you must hold down those two keys until the duration you want for this new Still is what you want - the duration counts up at the left end of the the bar.
    5. Go Window>Show Movie Properties, highlight the video track, then tick the 'High Quality' box.
    6. Go File>Save As, name it something, and save it as a self-contained movie to the Desktop.
    7.Drag this file into the iMovie Timeline next to the original clip - it should follow seamlessly from the end of that clip.
    NOTE - it is much faster and easier to do than it would seem from the above steps!!

  • Loading 25% of the movie

    Hi,
    I made a flash movie and I want the loading to load at the
    beginning just 25% of it (which is 1000 frames - long movie...),
    and then to start and play the all movie.
    this is how I hope the movie will keep on loading while the
    movie is being play.
    Now, the problem is, that after the 25% of the loading, the
    movie is starting (which is good) but at the point when the loading
    gets to the end (while the movie is still playing), it start to
    play again from the beginning.
    This is what I did, I will be happy for help!!!
    Scene no. 1 is the loading scene.
    In key-frame no, 1 I wrote:
    this.onEnterFrame=function(){
    l = this.getBytesLoaded();
    t=this.getBytesTotal();
    FrameLoad = Math.round((l/t)*100);
    if (FrameLoad<100) {
    loadBar.gotoAndStop(FrameLoad);
    } else {
    gotoAndPlay("enter", 1);
    loadBar.gotoAndStop(100);
    this.onEnterFrame=null;
    In key-frame no, 2 I wrote:
    if (Number(_framesloaded) >1000) {
    gotoAndPlay("enter", 1);
    } else {
    gotoAndPlay(1);
    And ("enter") is the next scene where the movie is.
    help...

    1. The question that is not clear in the posting is how is
    the movie getting back to the starting scene frame 1.
    2. How would _framesloaded exceed the total frames of 1000?
    if (Number(_framesloaded) >1000)
    3. Are you applying trace statements to check variables such
    as _framesloaded and FrameLoad if they are defined and when
    functions are called?
    4. Finally as a word of warning. You may have noticed in
    these Forums folks with scenes and Actionscript (AS) ultimately
    find they get boxed in. So if you plan to extend on the AS
    requirements you should look at alternatives that do not use
    Scenes. This is not to say you cannot resolve this issue, but you
    may encounter later issues that will not have resolutions if you
    expand on the AS requirements.

  • Detect end of the .swf file from captivate

    Hi,
    I've a .swf file sent by our clients. They want to put that .swf file on the webpage. The .swf file is published from captivate.
    Now they want to display a submit button on end of the .swf (video). I don't know how to detect end of the video.
    Need help...!!!
    Thank you,
    Himadri

    Welcome to our community
    Within Captivate you are able to choose different actions to occur when the Captivate movie completes play. Of course if you don't have Captivate and the project file you are pretty much stuck with what you have. If you *DO* have access to the source, you would then configure the end action to be what you like. Perhaps execute some JavaScript, load a different page, etc.
    If you don't have access to the source file, you may be better off asking whomever provided the SWF to you to make a small change to the end action. They would then compile a new SWF and provide that to you to use.
    You just said a "Submit" button should appear after the video plays. What exactly is this button supposed to do?
    Cheers... Rick
