Switch app. server

Hello
i am using forms 6i with forms server on port=9000 with connect mode=socket, it is running without any problem.
now i want to switch my application server with oc4j or application server 9i. i have installed developer 10g with oc4j and oc4j is running successfully i have test to run form 10g.
any idea how to run my form 6i on oc4j i tried to test to change parameter in formsweb.cfg port=8889 and connectmode=HTTP but it shows nothing when i run.
regards
aaks

In memory session replication doesn't use file's. So if replication is not
          working, it is misconfigured.
          1. Modify simplesession.jsp to print session.getId();
          2. Hit servers directly one after another, and post the response back.

  • Help !!  its urgent !!! HTTPS to HTTP switching in weblogic App server !!

    Hi,
    I am using servlets in Weblogic Server environemt. My client (browser based) switches
    from HTTPS to HTTP and vice versa while accessing different servlets.
    In IE application works fine but when using Netscape it fails in many parts .

    a different server, so it does not return the cookie to WebLogic Server. The way

  • How to deploy a war file from a different app server to the SAP one

    Hello,
    I hve recieved a war file from Tomcat that needs to be deployed on the SAP Java App server. As far as I know the SDM only allows to deploy ear files. How can I deploy this war to the app server?

    Hi Roy,
    in order to deploy the WAR file you have to wrap an EAR around it. I had the same problem.
    You can do this using Netweaver Developer studio.
    Perform the following steps:
    - Start NWDS
    - Create a New Enterprise Application Project
    - Create a New Web Module Project (name it like your war file => e.g. your war file is called myApp.war => call your Web Module myApp)
    - Edit the application.xml of your Enterprise App if necessary (description, Displayname etc.)
    - Link your Web Archive to your application archive (right Mouse click on Application Archive and from the Context Menu choose "Add Modules" => In the list choose your Web Module)
    => You can also perform a right mouse click on your web Module and from the context menu choose "Add to EAR Project" => In the list choose your Enterprise Application!
    - Build Web Archive (right mouse click on your Web Module and from the context menu choose "Build Web Archive" => This will create a war file that has the same name as your war file! => If you do not see it try to switch to resource perspective!)
    - Build Application archive (right mouse click on Application archive => from the context menu choose "Build Application Archive")
    You are done
    The EAR file is generated and will be created in your workspace.
    Now browse to your workspace. Unpack the EAR using WinZip or any other Archiver program.
    Replace the contained war with your war and repack the ear file (You can also use tools like Total Commander to directly replace the war file in the EAR with your war without having to unpack the war). You can also import your war into NWDS and rebuild it so you won't have to replace the WAR in the EAR but as your WAR is already built I would just replace it as described!
    You can now deploy the ear file to SAP J2EE
    Hope this helps (Reward points for helpful answers are appreciated!)

  • Use of Xerces Parser in out application with Oracle App Server 9.0.4

    The problem in brief:
    Our product is a web-app that runs under various Application servers.
    One of our customers who uses Oracle App server, recently upgraded from 9.0.2 (9g) to 9.0.4 (10g), and our product no longer works with the latter version.
    Our product uses XML parser Xerces 1.1.
    In 9.02 it was possible to replace the App servers parser with Xerces 1.1. In 9.02 it was possible to replace the App servers parser with Xerces 1.1 (We modified the opmn.xml file, setting the Java options for our oc4j instance bootclasspath with xerces parser). Hence, our product works.
    In 9.0.4, apparently, Oracle moved to a different parser, and it no longer allows the parser to be replaced. If the bootclasspath is modified with XERCES(tested various versions of xerces) parser, rightfully so ORACLE Application server does not start.
    Unlike other prominent Application Servers (such as webshpere etc,) the Oracle application server does not support separate JVMs or namespaces for web-apps either.
    We like, oralce application server, OC4J instance for our application to use the xerces parser version qualified with our product. We understand, replacing the XML parser for the entire Oracle Application Server is not supported function.
    Since, Oracle Application Server is loading the oracle 'xmlparserv2' at system class path, though the applicaton has xerces.jar in application path (either in AppLib or web-inf/lib directory, Its not a class loading issue) it is not getting used (since javax.xml.parsers.documentbuilderFactory is mapped to oracle parser).
    So, it looks like the only option available to us is to modify our product to use Oracle's XML parser. This is a major software change, and we want to keep it as last resort option.
    Any suggestion and help will be higly appreciated.

    Thanks for the intelligent posting on a difficult issue for you.
    I wasn't aware of anything specifically being introduced that prevented the bootclasspath technique from working** in the 904 release.
    For 904, the bootclasspath needs to be put in the start parameters tag of the java-options tag.
    <process-type id="home" module-id="OC4J" status="enabled">
    <module-data>
    <category id="start-parameters">
    <data id="java-options" ... -Xbootclasspath/a:/java/lib/xerces.jar"/>
    </category>
    </module-data>
    </process-type>
    You can also try copying the xerces.jar into the jre/lib/ext directory so it's loaded by the system classloader and see if that works**. This will put xerces at the extension level so
    **these workarounds are not supported and will put you in an unsupported situation if a problem occurs.
    The good news is that have taken steps to clearly enable the separation of container versus appplication class spaces in thenext production release (10.1.3) of OC4J. We will be providing a new classloading model which cleanly separates the two namespaces and allows applications to provide their own versions or distributions of class libraries with no collisions with the OC4J runtime libraries.
    I don't know of any easy ways to do what you need -- other than reworking the app to use JAXP so that the parser implementation used is pluggable as you kind of allude to. If it was possible, I'd do that rather than hard coding in the use of the Oracle XML parser.
    But just to reiterate, switching in xerces at the bootclasspath level is not a supported operation since it may have an effect on the OC4J runtime operation.
    cheers

  • Sql Server 2012 Cluster IP Responses to MS Dynamics APP server broadcasts

    Hi All,
     We are facing issues in our brand new MS Dynamics AX 2012 R3 installation with clustered MS SQL 2012.
    The DB server responses to the APP servers is like broadcasting to every system connected to the subnet. In our case that subnet is 192.168.2.0/24. But the packets sent from the AOS / APP server is not refelecting on other machines. We haven't made any changes
    to the routing / switching config after the installation.
    Attaching a screenshot for your reference.
    Please guide us on what can be done to find the cause and solve it
    Thanks,
    Sriram A Das

    Hi D. Graf,
    According to my knowledge, you can choose the order (each server's IP address-> SQL Server instance IP-> Failover cluster instance IP) to change these IP addresses.
     And before the process, please take SQL Server Cluster Instance Offline in Failover Cluster Manager . For more details, please review the following articles.
    How to change the IP address of the cluster nodes hosting a SQL Server instance

  • Connection problems with App Server database

    Hello All.
    On my project it has been noticed in the database listener logs that our Application Server is attempting to make a jdbc connection to the database multiple times a second on different ports. The port numbers appear to be increasing on each attempt.
    We believe this is causing the number of connections available to be rapidly taken up, and limiting the App Server from making any connections for future processes.
    Here are some of the events in the database listener log:
    20-AUG-2006 13:10:40 * (CONNECT_DATA=(CID=(PROGRAM=)(HOST=__jdbc__)(USER=))(SERVICE_NAME=PWTS)) * (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)(HOST=OUR_HOST)(PORT=37870)) * establish * PWTS * 0

    Has anyone seen anything similar to this or have any suggestions as to where to look?

    sqlnet does switch the ports dynamically, I guess for scaling and security - but I have to admit, I am not a db guru - o it's jsut what i remember from previous chats with colleaques..

  • Running the App Server as a user other than root

    We used to use iPlanet Web Server which during installation allowed you to specify which user you wanted to run the Web Server. This was very good for security. How do you do this with the App server ?
    Thanks
    PS We are running it on Solaris 9.

    Application Server 7 expands on the flexibility offered in the web server.
    The most basic means to define app server instances with non-root users is to create an administrative domain (basically, an admin server instance) using the user ID of interest. As you create new application server instances in the admin domain, you can assign the same user ID to the instances.
    (There is an admin domain that is initially configured as part of the app server installation. If you installed the product as root, then the admin server and the initially configured app server instance are owned by root. If you do not want these instances to be owned by root, you should remove this admin domain and create a new one that is owned by a non-root user.)
    For example, with the following command, I've created a new app server config (an administrative domain) containing an admin server owned by user "ckamps":
    root@canteloupe-{}: asadmin create-domain sysuser ckamps adminuser admin adminpassword password adminport 5050 ckamps.domain3
    Created Domain ckamps.domain3 successfully
    root@canteloupe-{}:
    Then I create an app server instance within this admin domain:
    root@canteloupe-{}: asadmin create-instance domain ckamps.domain3 sysuser ckamps --instanceport 80 instance1
    Created Instance instance1 successfully
    Note the use of the "--sysuser" option to specify the user that owns both the admin domain as well as the app server instance.
    You can either use root to define the admin domain and the instances (in which case you need to specify the sysuser option to force a non-root ownership) or you can use a non-root user to define the admin domain and app server instances.  In the latter case, specification of the sysuser is not required.
    Since my instance is defined to listen on a privileged port, I'll need to set the "run as user" in the <instance-dir>/config/init.conf file (similar to magnus.conf in Sun ONE Web Server 6) AND ensure that I start the instance as root. Once the server instance starts up as root, it will automatically switch to the run as user.
    The "User" setting below is the "run as user" specified in the admin console's "Create new instance" wizard.
    <snip of init.conf>
    NetsiteRoot /usr/appserver
    ServerID instance3
    ServerName canteloupe
    PidLog /var/appserver/domains/ckamps.domain3/instance3/logs/pid
    User ckamps
    DNS off
    </snip>
    Alternatively, you can start up the newly defined admin server and create the new app server instance through the admin console.
    Hope this helps,
    Chris

  • Hostname mismatch - Server.app/Server Admin

    Hi All,
    I have a strange one here. I seem to have a "mismatch" in hostname between Server.app & Server Admin - this also seems to be causing issues with SSL which is calling out a "hostname mismatch" between the SSL certificate and the server using the certificate (because it believes the server names don't match).
    Server.app - says hostname is srvmacmini.yourdomain.net.au (correct config)
    Server Admin says hostname  srvmacmini-yourdomain-net-au.local (note the inserted "-" and .local)
    Computer name is set to srvmacmini
    Using the terminal - hostname is srvmacmini.yourdomain.net.au
    DNS still seems to be working ok with all names resolving as expected - srvmacmini.yourdomain.net.au
    I have tried to reset the entry in Server Admin to match the entry in Server.app - however it won't let me update the entry for some reason.
    Would really appreciate someones insight on this.
    Finally - a complaint/rant - I frankly don't know why Apple cannot develop a SINGLE and efficient admin interface, this current mashup of tools where your switching between Server.App, Server Admin, Workgroup and then Profile Manager and everything else is frankly not efficient and leads to issues as described above in my view. No point having two GUI's to managed the same set of config values.

    Try this solution: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3960?locale=en_US
    It says:
    Resolution
    To check if servermgrd is loaded, see the output of this command in Terminal:
    sudo launchctl list | grep -q com.apple.servermgrd && echo loaded || echo not loaded
    If the output is "not loaded", load the com.apple.servermgrd job into launchd with this command:
    sudo launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.servermgrd.plist
    Hope this helps.

  • BPC 7M SP04 - app. server need SAN access?

    For PRD, we intend to split up our BPC 7M SP04 configuration into 2 servers - DB and App. server
    Will the app. server need access to the SAN? ( what data does it store, and is it big )?
    Are these assumptions valid?
    App. server needs to be 32 bit OS
    DB server can be 64 bit OS
    For DEV, we will have one server for all components. We assume this needs to be 32 bit OS with /PAE switch confitured?
    Thanks in advance .. Sanket

    Hi,
    Having a SAN access for your Application Server is not mandatory but could be used to store the BPC Data folder (the one containing Webfolder directory which stores Excel template and logic file).
    DB in 64 bits and APP in 32 bits is fine. Just check where you want to install SSRS component (on DB or App server).

    I want to know whether I can configure Office Web Apps server to edit Excel documents on a SharePoint Foundation 2013 site.
    I came across a TechNet article that states that "When used together with SharePoint Server 2013, Office Web Apps Server provides updated versions of Word Web App, Excel Web App, PowerPoint Web App, and OneNote Web App".
    However, later in the same article, it states "If your organization licenses Office 2013 through a Volume Licensing program, you can enable Office Web Apps editing for SharePoint 2013 on-premises" (without mentioning Foundation or Server).

    Hi Lemesnil,
    The Office Web App server should support the Edit licenses for SharePoin Foundation 2013, Office Web App is free to

    Previously I am able to start the server and was able to test an application. But, this time somehow it failed to start.
    I have checked the port numbers whether they are in use. But, all the port numbers required for the app server are free. I have checked it through "netstat -a".
    thanks in advance,
