SXPG_CALL_SYSTEM- Damage at OS Level any other alternate

Hi Team,
I have requirement to archive files to encrypt the file I am using FM-SXPG_CALL_SYSTEM but I came to know that if we use it there will be a lot of damage at OS Level. Is there any other cleaner way to do the same.
Please help me.
Thanks and Regards,
Shakeer Hussain

You better use FM 'SXPG_COMMAND_EXECUTE' instead of SXPG_CALL_SYSTEM.
I remember Sandra Rossi highlighting a few of them but don't think any of the differences stated that the latter would damage the OS while the former wouldn't. If you run a malicious system command both the FMs will give you the same end result.
@OP:
I came to know that if we use it there will be a lot of damage at OS Level.
Where do you get such information from? I have used external OS commands(non-malicious ones, of course) and none of them have given me any problem.

    houseofrest,
According to this page, you can use it for CC:

  • Is there any BADI or any other alternate in ECC for the Field exits

    Hi guys,
Is there any BADI or any other alternate in ECC for the Field exits:
    FIELD_EXIT_BP_VERS_Z
    FIELD_EXIT_BP_VERSION

    Hi,
If you are aware that these are the field exit funciton modules that get created when you create a field exit for the corresponding data element.
Hence there will not be any replacement for this FM, But you need to find where the data element is triggering(the tcode) and check in debugging if there is any BADI/Enhancement Point.
Hence check for which data element the FM belong to using the program RSMODPRF and check if they are globally activated, then they trigger on all the screen/transactions..(Tedious to replace with BADi/Enhancemnet points everywherre)
If the field exit is activated for screens, check to which transaction the screens belong to and then check for enhancement point or badi that trigers on the screen..
    Hope this helps
    Regards
    Shiva

  • Is it possible to install folder level script automatically by any other application ?

I want to install  folder level javascript through flex application .is it possible to do this or by any other technology.
1 way to do is to copy file using file stream of that application but as directory for folder level javascript is protected one therefore file operation give i/o error
    any other solution .

I do not think any Adobe product will allow you to do this for obvious reasons. '
You can use any installer program the will perform the installation for users if the users decide to allow your request.

  • Connect by - find the top level by pasing in any other level

I have a connect by loop.
    select  parent,
    child
    from parentchild
    start with parent = :passed_in_parameter
connect by nocycle prior  child = parentThis works fine but i have an addiitional requirement to find the top level of this tree. By passing in any other level.
    i.e.
if i have data as follows:
    parent child
    1 2
    2 3
    3 4
    4
    hierachy
    1
    2
    3
    4
Then I need my query to always give me the value 1 (top level) even if i pass in 1, 2, 3 or 4.
    Hope this makes sense
    Thanks

... Im trying to prevent a continous loop problem (connect by error) by checking the entire tree (as there can be as many levels as they require) for the entry the user is trying to sabe and if the entry exists then prevent them from adding the new parent child entry.
I thought the best way to do this is by first establishing the top level of the tree (hence my original question) then use another query passing the top level in, to ensure the new entry they want to put in does not already exist.
Is this the best way of doing what i reauire or can people think of a better solution? If there is a loop, then it isn't a tree, and there won't be a top. That's exactly what a loop means: every member of the loop is the ancestor (and descendant) of every member.
Sorry, I don't know enough (yet) about your application to answer your question.
Whenever you have a question, post a little sample data, and the results you want from that data.
In the case of a DML question (like this one: how to prevent DML that causes a loop) post some INSERT statements that show the table without any problems.
For the results, post a series of DML statements (INSERT, UPDATE and or DELETE) to be executed in order, and say whether you want each one to fail or not, and why.
Make sure your sample data resembles your real data. For example, if your real table allows children to have more than one parent, make sure your sample data has an example of that.
There's no need to post a lot of data. If your real trees can go to 50 levels deep, you can post a tree that only goes 3 or 4 levels, and just explain that they can actually go deeper.

    Please suggest.
    Rgds

    Dear
what you haver to do is:
    Go to MM02...
If say you Base UOM is EA and you want to maintain Carton as Alternate UOM...
then give EA in Base UOM ...Now click on additional data-Click on Unit of Measure Tab---Here you maintain your conversion factor for EA and Carton...
If at all you are at client level, then also no issues as there are maintained at Masters level.
These data are maintained at Client level.

  • Can I install windows 7 on a potable Hard Drive using boot camp? or any other way to do so?? need help for college please

I need to use windows in order to use Visual C++ for college but I don't have enough space in my internal Hard Drive so I want to install windows 7using boot camp or any other method on a portable hard drive and boot from it.
Please help I need it as soon as possible for school. Thanks

You can't boot Windows natively except on internal drives.
You can use a VM and put the VM image (VHD) anywhere any drive you want.
You are way too low on disk space, seriously so. And no room - even Windows and Mac OS should be warning and balking already.
"emulator" is an old-school term, even true, running a Guest OS under Mac's as a virtual machine, shared resources (RAM, processor) is easier but not the same performance level as running natively.

I bought an external hard drive for backups to use with Time Machine, but however when I try to connect it with the other windows laptop it doesn't work ? intact it doesn't work on any other device except my MAC ?

    Do not worry about it.
Time Machine needs that your external drive is formatted in HFS+, or better known as "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)". This filesystem is used by Apple on Macs and Windows cannot read or write drives formatted with this filesystem, being this the reason why all your devices do not read the external drive except your Mac.
You can only use your external drive to make Time Machine drives. If you store anything different, you may damage the Time Machine structure, so it is better not to use it as a drive to store other data. Instead, get another external drive to do it or create a second partition on the external drive formatted in FAT32 by using Disk Utility > http://pondini.org/OSX/DU3.html FAT32 can be read by Windows PCs

  • Are There Any Other Speakers You Can Use with MacPro Besides 5.1?

I have Logitech Z5500 speakers on my PowerMac G5 and I wanted to get speakers for the MacPro but not the 5.1 speakers because I don't want to crowd it up with 5 more speakers. But it seems like the only speakers that have the optical port are the 5.1 speakers and they don't have 2 optical ports to support both computers.
Do I have any other choices? Any ideas??

  • I recently reloaded iLife11 and now when I go to open iPhoto it says I can't open it because the application "may be damaged or incomplete". Any suggestions?

I recently reloaded iLife11 and now when I try to open iPhoto I get a message that says I can't open it because "it may be damaged or incomplete".  Any suggestions?

    To re-install iPhoto
    1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5:  Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows:  In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
    /var/db/receipts/
    2c: on 10.7 they're at
    /private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
    3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store or have a Recent Mac you can find it in your Purchases List.

Most intelligent people would not store such sensitive data on a device that could so easily be lost, stolen, or damaged.  Even if they chose to do so, they would use the device as designed and regularly sync and backup that device as described in the User's Guide.
Have you done so?  If you have, all of the data is either in iCloud or iTunes on your computer.  Replace the device and restore the new iDevice with the backup of the old one.

  • Is there any other way to  limit the data a user can see

    We are using Discoverer 10.2.xxx
We are running it against an Oracle applications database but we do not have Discoverer integrated with the apps. I have created database users for discoverer and granted access to the data at the db level.
We have about 40 salesreps and we only want each rep to see their own data. We have a high turn over with the reps
For now, I have created the row level security in that folder in my eul. If the username = XXXX then Salesrep = XXXXX
    OR
If username = YYYY then DSM = YYYY
etc.. This goes on for about 40 users We have 3 levels of "users" - Salesrep, DSM or RSM (District or Region sales manager)
These users are setup in my apps and I can write a database procedure to select their salesrep name based on their username.
Is there any other way to limit the data that the salesreps can see ?
Possibly with a stored procedure some way?
    Thanks
    Angie

At a previous client's, I had created a system not too unlike what you're describing.
Basically, I created an Oracle table that stored information concerning the salesperson as in Oracle Apps the data was not reliable for what they were doing (ie: with adding Apps modules, sometimes salesperson data was there, but with say, CRM, it was in another place, etc.).
So, since this table was going to be used for driving everything about a salesperson (commissions, who they report to, when they started, territory, when / if they moved territories and/or manager, etc, etc.) I put lots of good stuff in it that would make life easier for them.
The end user in charge of all this had was given a Form to add, edit, delete all this good stuff and they were happy.
When it came time for security, it worked like a charm in that I used the concept of the BIS views where a user has an apps id associated to them and all data was filtered by that id. All I really had to do was to create this view that simply filtered data to that user's id. Then whenever I had a Discoverer report for salespeople, managers, etc. I just made sure the folder used had a join to this filtering view and I chose an item from the filtering view and all worked fine. All Discoverer reports only returned row level information for the salesperson who ran it.
Likewise, the same Oracle table was queried by another security view that only brought back the same IDs for the salespeople associated to each manager. When this simple view was joined to any sales Discoverer folder (and used in Disco), it limited all data to the salespeople the manager was responsible for.
Obviously this is just an overview and would take pages to explain, but essentially, if you can associate some kind of unique ID to each salesperson (I used the one returned in BIS views when someone logs into Apps, but you could just assign a different in your case), then you can create a view that filters to that id. Then when that view is brought into the EUL and joined to any other folder in the sales area (and you choose a column from the security view), you'll have what you're referring to - row level security for all salespeople and managers.
When it works - it sure does look impressive.
