Syclo - Clearing/Unsetting Date fields

Hi All,
I'm having some trouble with clearing a date field. I need to have the option of setting a date field back to blank if the user request so.
I've tried to create a transaction where the date is a string property and set the date as blank. When running the application, clearing the date field results in the error message <Date> field is required and I'm not able to clear the field.
Thanks in advance for any hints on how to clear a date field.
Thanks!

Jason,
You cannot really clear a date field on screen by design.  There is a concept of a special value in Agentry that gives you more flexibility.  You could experiment with a special value tied to your date screen field.  This should put a check box next to the date and allow you to turn it on/off allowing you to finish the transaction without setting it.  I don't believe this will unset a value that has been previously saved, so this may not work for you.  I have noticed that date special values seem broken in the latest clients anyway.
You could add your own check box next to the date and enable/disable the date based on whether the check box is checked or not.
You are working with MyObject and have a data field called MyDate.  Create a Date field in the MainObject called DummyDate.  This is the equivalent of a blank date since there is no data in it.  In your transaction, your final date field is called DateFinal and ties to MyDate in the object.  Create another Date property called DateScreen.  Point your screen field to DateScreen.  DateScreen transaction property initial value should be "From another object".  Set it to MyObject -> MyDate field.  DateFinal transaction property initial value is "Rule after data entry".  The rule should check whether your date check box is checked or not.  If checked, use the transaction value from DateScreen since this is the date the user entered on screen.  If not checked, use MainObject ->DummyDate.  Using DummyDate will set the date back to empty.

  • Clearing date field

    Hello,
    I looked everywhere for a solution but I can't find anything that would work for SharePoint 2013 and SharePoint Designed 2013.
    I tried:
    1) setting the date to 0/01/0001 - I get workflow errors
    2) copying the date from a already blank column - the copy is completely ingored
    Anybody had any success in clearing the date field in the 2013?
    Thank you

    Did you try to set the null value? Refer to following post for more information

    Dear Sir,
    I made PDF form by Acrobat X on Windows PC and then,
    read the pdf form by acrobat reader on iPad.
    Date field  is included in the form.
    The Acrobat version is 10.1.6 .
    The acrobat reader version is 10.5.0 .
    First, I put the wrong date data to the date field.
    So, I tried to clear the date field.
    I want to put the blank data to the date, but I think
    there are no way to put the blank data on iPad
    I would like to know how to reset the date data.
    If that helps, I tried to the same thing on Android.
    I could put blank data to the date field by BS key.

    Here is how to clear the Date field on the Ipad.
    NOTE: In order for this to work that has to be another TEXT field in the PDF to get the keyboard to pop-up.
    Click on Text field (this is to get the regular keyboard on screen)
    Click on Date field (date spinner control will show up)
    Click on SAME DATE field (spinner control will disapper)
    Click on "Reset Field" on top of keyboard (date field will now be empty)
    Click any where on PDF that is not another Date field (keyboard will disappear and date field will be empty)
    Bingo! your free and clear.

  • Data arrived in ODS new data - all  data fields are cleared

    Hello Experts
    We are loading every day since 3 years data into a DSO   There is a simple start routine.
    Issue:
    Suddenly 1x  record out of 12'000 records loses the data fields or in other words the data fields are cleared. The key part of the record still extists. The table of new data shows the record with all cleared data fields. Thus before activation the data are lost already somwhere in updating.
    We dont use expert routines, no end routines ect. It is a simple 1:1 transformation with a simple start routine.
    We debugged the start routine and the record still exists correctly at the end of the start routine with all entries in the data fields.
    So quite tricky and we hope of some good ideas , you may help us.
    Thanks a lot for your input and help

    Our system is SAP BW 7.01 on DB6

    Hello Raf
    The data request has been split in 2 x data packages.
    And the erroneous record was exactly the last data record in data package 1.
    I have than increased the data request size from 10’000 Records to 50’000
    records (default) and it worked than perfectly without clearing any data
    columns
    For me absolutely not understandable, why this can happen.
    Do you have an idea.

  • Payment terms and Due date field gets emptied after residual clearing

    Hi
    There is advance of Rs.50000 in Vendor ledger and Invoice of Rs.200000 (with payment term - G019)
    I cleared these two line items (residual clearing). One new line item got created of Rs.150000. When i saw that line item, i saw that there payment term field and due date field got emptied. My requirement is that the original payment term entered in initial invoice document (of Rs.200000) should automatically get populated in new line item of Rs.150000.
    How to fulfill this requirement?

    Thanks for the prompt reply.
    I wanted to ask one more thing. Same way when i do partial clearing (not residual), is it possible to populate the invoice's due date in advance line item. One link is that my invoice reference gets populated advance line item. So i want due date (not payment term) also to get populated in advance line item.
    Please help.

  • Clearing the data buffer from the input fields

    Hi,
    I am using an user exit CONFPP02 for the Tcode: co11n. I have written a program such that the confirmation numbers having the status CNF will not be allowed to be processed. The whole confirmation is terminated when the system checks the confirmation number and its status as CNF. If the status of the confirmation number is PCNF, the program allows the further processing of the Tcode Co11n.
    The problem starts when the user enters the PCNF status confirmation number and enters, the system stores the values in the various input fields. Now without exiting the initial confirmation screen, if the user replaces the Confirmation number of the PCNF status to the Confirmation number of the CNF status , the system issues a warning message:"  Confirmation no. or order/sequence/operation has been changed
    However, the input fields still contain default values from thepreceding confirmation". if the user says yes, the program written is bypassed , thus allowing the reconfirmation of the CNF confirmation number  into PCNF confirmation number .
    Can anybody suggest a suitable method to clear the data stored defultly in the input fields so that the program can be made to work.

    Hi Gilad,
    I never use Preview and did not use Preview at all before sending the document over to my most recent client either.
    I only opened Preview up this morning after I discovered that all of the form data had disappeared on his end! And the only reason I opened up Preview was because I already knew it looked fine in Acrobat so wanted so wanted to view the form in a different application.
    My client would not even have notified me about it had he not sent the signed form back to me and I saw there was no data there! I then called him and asked him about the missing data and he said that he thought I had simply sent over the form purposely with blank fields:(
    I have just emailed him to ask him what application he opened it up in. My understanding is that he is on Windows because ne mentioned to me his company was using Windows when we last spoke. Perhaps he has a personal Macbook where he opened it? I just don't know and can hopefully soon find out:)
    But THANK YOU for letting me know about that script! I appreciate it:) I have now downloaded and installed it and will just have to use it on ALL of my forms before sending them out:)

  • How to clear the data in my page after user enter submit button

    hi......
    how to clear the data's in my page after user enter submit button. Actually while pressing first time itself the data is uploaded in database.

    Hi Nazeer,
    Instead of doing it on the same button better create a separate button for this functionality, As per my understanding you want to clear these fields to create new record so that you can enter a new record so for this you just need to insert a new row in VO.
    Still if you want to do it on the same button then you need to put the check that particular record is not dirty if it is not then create new record else create new record.
    One more thing if you will clear on the second click of a button how will you update your record??

  • Using a date field in a JDOQL query crashes

    Hello:
    I am trying to use a date field in a JDOQL filter. It appears from the
    log file that the date is not being substituted into the SQL.
    It is not clear from the JDOQL spec how to do date queries.... doing date
    queries in SQL involves several special operators, yet the
    JDOQL defines the ">" and "<" operators as working on dates....and there is
    no mention of date specific operators so I am hoping that I
    can do a filter where I compare a date to an input parameter date using the
    ">" and "<" operators...
    I have enclosed a copy of my driver code, followed by an except of my class
    that contains the date, followed by the kodo exception log
    I can't see where I am doing anything that violates the JDOQL spec and I
    don't see any other way of doing date comparisions.

    Brian,
    The problem is that you're declaring myDate as a variable instead of a
    parameter. Yes, we should be doing better error checking. But that's the
    problem.
    So, change your declareVariables() and declareParameters() statements
    accordingly, and all should work out.

  • How can I clear the description field of ALL my bookmarks at once?

    Hello,
    I would like to clear the description field of all my bookmarks. To do this manually would be horrible. Is there some tool that can do it? Or is there some trick to edit the sqlite file?
    Also I'd be interested how I can stop Firefox from filling the description field when adding a new bookmark.
    Thank you in advance
    using Firefox 3.6.13 on Windows XP SP3

  • Add a new date field

    Hi,
    I have a requirment to add a non existing field to my query
    My actual query is like this..
    select Date ,count(*) from tablename where date is between dt1 and dt2;
    The output will be displayed for all the dates where some transactions are there..
    eg:
    Date                     Count
    25.12.2005 12:02:00 PM          1
    25.12.2005 12:16:00 PM          1
    25.12.2005 12:20:00 PM          3
    25.12.2005 12:51:00 PM          1
    25.12.2005 12:52:00 PM          5
    but the business wanted me to add an additional column which is a date field..
    ie to display all the dates between dt1 and dt2 and the other 2 fileds from the query
    if Dt1=25.12.2005 12:00:00 and Dt2=25.12.2005 12:59:00 then my output should look like this :
    Column1                Date                    count
    25.12.2005 12:00:00 PM
    25.12.2005 12:01:00 PM

    You can do it with the SQL Model clause:
      1  with t1 as

    34 rows selected.Have a look at the Oracle documentation to see exactly how this works, but basically my inner query:
    select newdate
    from dual
    model
    dimension by (to_number(null) as myid)
    measures (to_date(null) as newdate)
    rules upsert iterate(1000) until (&startdate+((iteration_number-1)*((1/24)/60)) >= &enddate)
          (newdate[0]=to_date(&startdate),
           newdate[iteration_number+1]=newdate[cv()-1]+((1/24)/60))is building a dummy table containing values 1 minute apart between startdate and enddate. You can then join to the original table. Not sure how clear that is so ask away if you're confused (but I would advise you go to the Oracle doc's first and search for info on the model clause).

  • Date field difference calculation

    Hi all,
    I am new to Adobe and Java scripting so apologies if this has already been answered elsewhere - I have not been able to find it if it has.
    I want to calculate the difference between two dates fields in hours and mins on a form.
    I have two fields, both Date format (dd/mm/yyy HH:MM), a Start and End date and I want the difference between them in the Time format HH:MM.
    Can anyone help me with the script for this? What I have so far is:
    var strStart = this.getField("StartTime").value;
    var strEnd = this.getField("EndTime").value;
    if(strStart.length || strEnd.length)
    var dateStart = util.scand("dd/mm/yyyy HH:MM",strStart);
    var dateEnd = util.scand("dd/mm/yyyy HH:MM",strEnd);
    var diff = dateEnd.getTime() - dateStart.getTime();
    // One Day = (24 hours) x (60 minutes/hour) x
    // (60 seconds/minute) x (1000 milliseconds/second)
    var oneMin = 60 * 60 * 1000;
    var mins = Math.floor(diff/oneMin);
    event.value = util.printd("HH:MM",mins);
    But this is not working...
    Mary

    The result can be formatted using:
    // format result using "h:MM" format
    event.value = util.printf("%,0 0.0f" + ":" + "%,002.0f", nHours, nMinutes);
    One cannot use the date or time formats since the time values will be limited to the hours and minutes values for 1 day, so any time value that is over 23 hours 59 minutes is not possible.
    A full script solution including document level functions for conversion of date strings to minutes and converting minutes to a time string:
    // reusable document level functions;
    function Time2Num(cFormat, cDate) {
    // convert date value with format to number of minutes form Epoch date;
    var oDate = util.scand(cFormat, cDate);
    var nMins =  null;
    if(oDate ==  null) app.alert("Error converting " + cString + " using " + cForamt);
    else nMins = oDate.getTime() / (1000 * 60);
    return Math.floor(nMins);
    } // end Time2Num format
    function Num2Time(cFormat, nMins) {
    // convert number of muniutes to h:MM or HH:MM format;
    // return formatted string for valid formats;
    // return null for invalid formats;
    var cElapsed = null;
    // test for nMins being a number;
    if(isNaN(nMins)) {
    app.alert("Minutes must be number",0, 0);
    } else {
    var nHours = Math.floor(nMins / 60);
    var nMinutes = Math.floor(nMins % 60);
    switch(cFormat) {
    case "h:MM":
    cElapsed = util.printf("%,0 0.0f" + ":" + "%,002.0f", nHours, nMinutes);
    break;
    case "HH:MM":
    cElapsed = util.printf("%,002.0f" + ":" + "%,002.0f", nHours, nMinutes);
    break;
    default:
    app.alert("Invalid format " + cFormat + "\nMust be \"HH:MM\" or \"h:MM", 0, 0);
    break;
    return cElapsed;
    } // end Num2Time function
    // end document level funcitons;
    // custom calculation script;
    event.value = ''; // clear result;
    var strStart = this.getField("StartTime").value;
    var strEnd = this.getField("EndTime").value;
    if(strStart.length || strEnd.length) {
    var nDateStart = Time2Num("dd/mm/yyyy HH:MM",strStart);
    var nDateEnd = Time2Num("dd/mm/yyyy HH:MM",strEnd);
    var nMins = nDateEnd - nDateStart;
    // format result using "h:MM" format
    event.value = Num2Time("h:MM", nMins);
    // end custom calculation script;
