Sync and fire-forget process in a single composite

Hi,
I have two composite process, which does the same particular task but in a different way.
1. Sync BPEL process.
2. DB Polling a table, which is a fire and forget service
Can i have both the cases in one singe composite ? Is there any challenges that i would face? Please suggest.
TIA

Use 1 composite and 2 bpel processes....

  • Sync and async bpel process

    Hi,
I was reading about the synchronous and asynchronous process in the forum, I have also some similar problem.
    some of my questions are:
If suppose my BPEL process is going to take around 2 mins or more to finish , then I cannot chose synchronous BPEL process as the default timeout is 45sec and not recomend to increase the time.
As the above is true, I have created a asynchronous BPEL process, now I want the reply back from asynchronous, is this is possible? even I found that when I invoke the partner link of asynchronous BPEL process it doesn't ask for the output variable. SO if any process going to take longer time and need response from that, whats the solution.
    Regards,
    Sreejit

    Hi James,
Thanks, yes you are correct that receive is required for the response from async process.
Do you have any idea how we can get the response back if we are calling the asyn process outside the SOA server, say from PL/SQL or Java API. PL/SQL can call the sync process and get the response back but in case of async process it returns null as the callback response of async not send the response to database. Is this possible with java api, any link or sample which illustrate this or any step suggestion. Actually I am trying to call the BPEL process from Oracle Apps R12 E-Business suite.

  • IPhoto (most recent) just crashed while uploading photos.  It tried to fix itself and in the process erased every single photo.  Is there any way to retrieve them?

While uploading my family Christmas photos, my computer went completely blank.  When it started back up again, I had a message that iPhoto had been damaged and needed to be corrected.  So I let it restore and it took several minutes.  Then I had a message that it could not find any photos or data and it restart the computer.  If that didn't work it said to push "option and command" buttons while starting iPhoto.  Nothing worked.
It appears as though I have lost thousands and thousands of pictures including all vacations, last moment s with my father, kids entire childhoods.  The photos are invaluable.  I understand that they are on the hard drive.  I have had to restore everything from the hard drive once when my laptop was stolen and I lost about a third of the photos because they came back damaged.  I hope this is not the only solution to the problem.
Does anyone know how to restore iPhoto or retieve my photos? What happened?  I am guessing iPhoto is not a reliable place to keep my pictures anymore.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have a back up?
What version of iPhoto? Assuming 09 or later:
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • Can processes be both sync and async

    Hi,
When creating a BPEL process in JDeveloper, there are two pre-defined templates for synchronous or asynchronous processes. As such, I've been viewing a process as being either synchronous or asynchronous.
However, after a bit of experimentation, I've come to the conclusion that a process can contain both synchronous and asynchronous operations.
Does this sound correct? Should I not be viewing a process as being one or the other, and it is fact the operation that is sync or async?
    Cheers,
    Toby

    Some thoughts on that:
-You can view sync as a special form of async, so each sync process is also an aysnc process. (I'm ignoring the tech diff like two ports, two partnerlinks here)
-You can call sync and async (BPEL-) processes in one process.
-If a process P contains only sync processes, that will make P sync.
-If a process P contains (among others) at least one async processes, that will make P async.
-If you have a async process, you can wrap its invocation with a timeout, making it a sync process.

  • How to combine 20 identical shots into a single composite image

I want to shoot a moving water scene with a tripod mounted Canon DLSR and take +/- 20 images from the exact location and then combine them into a single composite shot in photoshop CS6.  How do I go about this?

It sounds like you want to do image stacking. See Photoshop Help | Image Stacks (Photoshop Extended).

    Hello there, Bhavesh7.
The following Knowledge Base article offers up some great information in regards to how to sync photos to your iOS device:

Try removing and then reinstalling the Apple software using these instructions.
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
The above containes a link for XP. Also. make sure you install the correct Apple software, It comes in 32 and 64 bit and you need the one that is the same as the computer OS

Those photos taken or bumped photos should bi in the iPod's Camera Roll album
    - If they are in an iPod backup then restore from that backup. Note however, that the the backup that had the photos may have been overwritten by a subsequent backup that did hot have the photos on the iPod.See the restore topic of:
    iOS: How to back up
    - If you used PhotoStream then try getting them from your PhotoStream. See that topic of:
iOS: Importing personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer
    - Have you looked on the computer? Maybe they were imported to the computer and then deleted from the iPod. Since the photos were not synced to the iPod they are not in the iPod Photo Cache folder .

Since migrating from Windows 7 to Windows 8 and upgrading to iTunes 11, the latter has frozen while syncing my devices, usually while at the “determining apps to sync” stage of the process.  If I am attempting to download app updates before attempting to sync, the problem normally occurs at the first “installing app x” stage.  In addition, the whole iTunes experience is extremely sluggish and will even freeze while searching for a track.  Everything worked fine on Windows 7.  So far, I have repaired the program several times and have checked for compatibility issues, but there is no Windows 8 option in the combo box, obtained after right-clicking the icon and selecting Properties/Compatibility.  As a result, I am unable to sync my devices. If I uninstall iTunes before re-installing, will this affect my iTunes libraries?  Does anyone have any suggestions?

After going by elimination to isolate if the problem was from (1) iTunes app, (2) my computer or (3) my old iPhone 4G, I figured out what my problem was.
    1) First I deleted & reinstalled iTunes on my Windows PC without succes, my playlist did not changed on my iPhone.
    2) I tested a successful #sync from the iMac at work.
So my conclusion is: The hard drive on my Windows PC is full and that is affecting iTunes SYNC functionalities.
So I'll do a back-up then run a "Clean Install" of my Windows OS, hoping that it will fix my SYNC problems.

  • XServe and 10.5 won't boot..."syncing disks killing all processes"

    Hey Everybody,
Have an Xserve Intel Quad-Core Xenon 2.8 GHz, 80gb, 2 Gb RAM. 10.5 Server.
2 Gb of RAM has been anemic. The server runs a few Cold Fusion Web Sites, DNS, OD, FTP, AFP, and Mail Services. Our mail is not light duty as we send out almost daily 70,000 e-mails to our customers.
Last week I added 2 x 4gb DIMM to bring up the RAM to 10 Gb. I added the RAM to slots 3 & 4. Saw great improvement right away. The night after, I noticed the server rebooted during the night. (Didn't look into why )
Well, I came in this morning and was checking up on the server (via ARD) and couldn't connect. Went to the server room and saw the machine was off. Not good. I restarted it and went back to my office. Checked again on ARD, and still wasn't available. Went back to server, rebooted in verbose mode (after booting with a monitor and seeing the screen show the apple with the spinning gear) and It's hanging then shutting down within three minutes of boot.
Attached is a pic of what is shown, at around 3 minutes from boot the screen will then say "syncing disks killing all processes" and the server shuts down.
I've googled all morning and have tried various methods to boot to no avail.
I removed the RAM that I added and the problem persists. I also removed the drive sled and reinserted it into the xserve and also tried bay 2.
    Other things...
Yesterday added two more web sites and the DNS for it in Server Admin.
    Any suggestions? Bad drive?
    Shaun

OK, having exactly same issue - but on a much older and much less duty machine. Dual G4 1Ghz running 10.5 Server. Noticed that I could not connect via ARD and did hard shutdown, notice identifier light was on as well. The system did reboot as I could get my mail, but when I connected a monitor to it all I had was gray screen.
Did another hard shutdown after pressing IL and not just gets to logo and spinning wheel for a short while and shuts down.
It has been up and running flawlessly for long time prior to this.
My name is Sean too, maybe that is the issue...

    Hello, do you mean Download?
In Mail's Window Menu, choose Connection Doctor, any red dots for status, if so what is the message?
Then click the Show Details button & Check again.

Are you signed into iTunes on the computer with the same Apple ID the apps in question were "purchased" with?  Is the computer authorized for that account?
