Synch problem with Mail since iTunes 9.1 upgrade

I synched my iPhone 3G for the first time since the iTunes 9.1 upgrade and now have a mail problem. The mail icon on my iPhone shows 100 unread messages (it showed no unread messages prior to the synch) and there are NO unread messages, either on my iPhone or in Outlook 2003 on my computer.

I found the problem (but not the cause). When I synched, a duplicate email account was added to the email configuration on the iPhone and it showed the 100 messages in it as unread. I deleted the duplicate account and synched again and the problem did not reappear.

  • Problems with Mail since update Yosemite

    Hello
I have a MacBook Pro 13" from approx. Dec. 2010.
I made last weekend the update to Yosemite. Since then the Mail.app does not work correct anymore. I can send mails and I can get mails from my webmail server if Mail.app is open. When I start Mail.app new I can not get the incoming mails from the webmail server. Mail.app does not download the incoming mails arrived in the meantime as the Mail.app was closed from the webmail server. I tried to create the mail account new but that did not work. I can not create a new mail account either.
Now I tried to create a new main account and I installed one of my mail account. there. In this new main account the mail.app is working well again and got all mails downloaded.
So it looks that during the update of Yosemite my existing main account got an error.
I could work now on the new account. But how can I bring all adjustments and data's out of the existing account into the new account? Is this possible to do?
Or how can I fix the existing account that has an error? Do I have to go back to Mavericks again? And how can I go back to mavericks like it was before the update to Yosemite?
Hope I can get some answers that would help me in this case.
    Thank's in advance!

Here is my list of problems with Mail since upgrading to Yosemite (all was working just fine before) ...
    [MacBook Pro, Retina 13", late 2013, 2.6 GHz Intel Core i5, 8GB, 500GB running OS X Yosemite 10.10]
Mail is very slow (seems to be a memory leak?)
Read emails not being marked as read (sporadic - sometimes it works just fine)
Deleted emails not being deleted (sporadic - sometimes it works just fine)
When replying to a message, does not close original message (sporadic - sometimes it works just fine)
When dragging a message to a folder cannot scroll up (can scroll down)
Message is sometimes blank (but the same message opened fine previously or later)
Message is sometimes one line of text and it is not possible to easily scroll horizontally to read the message (two finger side swipe on trackpad works but not Magic Mouse ... easiest way to read emails is to forward or reply)
Calendar invite messages not closing or being deleted when invite RSVP is completed
I should roll back my OS but this is a real hassle so I am hoping for Apple to submit an update to Yosemite or Mail & Calendar.
Has anyone else had any of the above problems? Anyone got any temp solutions until updates come from Apple? Perhaps changing settings can resolve some of the above issues - I have tried but failed.

You may have inadvertently installed adware. You do not need to download or install anything to fix it. It ought not to be related to any Apple security update.
For a description of how this may have occurred, how to avoid it in the future, and for Apple's recommended actions read How to install adware. Apple's instructions are linked in the Recovery Procedure near the end of that document. Read and follow them carefully. Pay particular attention to the easily overlooked passages directing you to restart your Mac when required.

  • Problems with Mail Since Installing to Leopard

I have just done a clean installation of Leopard. I have been using Tiger for years and before my move to 10.5 I used Backup to save all my old mail. I tried to restore it but Mail is now behaving very strangely. It won't quit unless I force quit it. It won't show a viewer window on opening up unless I click on open viewer window. The folders for my old emails are there but they are all empty. Although the account setting is correct I cannot send or receive mail.
Fearing that my old emails were lost forever, I next tried restoring the emails to the desktop. I can now see them all and can search inside their contents using spotlight or the Finder search. However, they won't open with Mail and I have to open them with Textedit.
    Please help

    Hi,
This has normally been seen with using Leopard retail disks that contain 10.5.6 used to do some form of Upgrade from Tiger. But it is likely a migration of Mail data files might trigger the problem also:
Check the support document at the link below:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2537
If you also find any files named to include MessageSorting, remove those, also, but never restore those.
    Keep us informed.

  • Problems with Mail Since OS Upgrade

Since the upgrade to OS 10.6.7, I am having trouble with Mail interacting with Gmail. I can't send emails out. Port 993 times out. Occasionally, I can get emails in the Outbox to go out upon opening Mail but not thereafter. I have reconstructed the p-list file, and pared down my mail accounts to a single gmail account, but still nothing. Connection Doctor shows smtp.gmail is connected (green).
For what it's worth, my iPad running on the same network with the same ISP sends and receives email fine from all accounts.
    Now what?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

The most important step is that mail is closed through out all of this:
    Close mail.
Clear messages trying to send in outbox by either deleting or saving as draft
    Open TextEdit
    Go to File
    Click on Save As
Click on the triangle to the right of where it says "Untitled" to make it point down
Click on where it has your name next to the house symbol on the left hand side
    Hold Command-Shift
Hit the Period button once while your holding the above two
Should see a bunch of new stuff namely "DS_Store"
    Click on the Library folder
    Click on the Mail folder
Click on the folder with your email address on it
In there you should see something called .offlinecache
Click on the Trash to open a window and drag the .offlinecache into there (you cannot just drag it to the icon of Trash you have to drag it into the window)
Restart, empty trash, open up mail, should work fine

  • Seriously, what's the problem with Siri since the iOS 7 upgrade?

I don't know if it's just the fault of iOS 7 or not because I only have one Siri capable device and so I can't compare. But since upgrading my iPhone 5 to iOS 7,  Siri has definitely gotten much much slower, and sometimes ends up with the "Sorry I can't take your request now" response, which I never saw in iOS 6.
I've heard other people complain too.
Is it an iOS 7 problem? Has Apple changed Siri since releasing iOS 7?
With all their money, why can't they add enough servers to handle the load?
I'm on high-speed wifi almost all the time, and the pauses, delays and non-responsiveness has gotten seriously annoying. I used to miss Siri when I went from my iPhone 5 to my iPad 2, and was thinking of upgrading to the next iPad because of Siri (for one thing). But as of late I would classify Siri as more annoying than useful.
Are other people also having problems with Siri?
    Thanks,
    doug

I assume you are joking. Like why after a year would I suddenly start holding my iPhone 5 differently immediately after the iOS 7 upgrade?
Anyway, a quick Google search shows I'm not alone:
    http://tidbits.com/article/14154
"Siri, Are You There? -- Less firm are the problems I’ve experienced with Siri in iOS 7. At times, Apple’s servers are clearly having trouble, since I’ll get a message back from Siri telling me to try again later. And other times, I’ll say something to Siri and just get no response back at all — or at least no response in the amount of time I’m willing to wait before I perform the action manually. All this started when I began using preview builds of iOS 7 — under iOS 6, I’d become quite fond of Siri."

  • Problems with Mail since loading "Maverick"

Mail keeps asking me for my password, also I noticed that in Mail / Preference on iCloud Account, the password is empty. When I type my normal password and save it, and then return to Accounts the password has not been saved and is blank again. I assume this is why it keeps asking me for my password. How do I get my password to Save in Preference??

If it is your iCloud mail which is asking, try to logout your iCloud account, and login again.

  • I'm having problems with Google since the Firefox 4 upgrade.

Since upgrading to Firefox 4, when I try to do a search from the Google home page, and I click on "Google Search" I am taken to a blank page w/no results. However, if I search through Google's Advanced Search feature, I don't have any problems. Any advice on how to fix this?

Wifi issues are one of the common issues being reported by users.  There is not much you can do at this point but wait and hope that th 10.8.1 update will address these issues.

  • Problems with Mail, Safari and iTunes after updating to 10.5.6

    Hi all,
after installing 10.5.6 I have problems with Mail, Safari and iTunes.
The time to open mails, websides and iTunes store is increasing dramatically since the update. If I open a webside parallel with Safari and Firefox, Safari needs minimum 15 times longer to open the complete side. Mails containing HTML-code also needs a long time to be opened. Tha same Problem with iTunes store. Connecting to the Store costs at least 30 - 40 seconds. And unfortunately for every iTunes store side I open. Its terrible
Any idea or workaroung to solve that problem?
    Regards
    Michael

First, run Disk Utility and repair permissions and then restart.
I installed the 10.5.6 Combo update. Sometimes things get "lost in the translation" when you use Software Update depending on your installation. Perhaps you can download 10.5.6 Combo from the website and install it from your desktop.

I have problem with syncing in itunes and it stared since i installed new version of itunes.it stuck in backup step for houres.what shud i do?

So, in iTunes, when you look at the shuffle's content (in the sidebar) and click on the playlist under the shuffle, over to the right, the songs are in your desired order, correct?  Where do you look, or what do you do, that indicates the playlists are in alphabetical order?  Are you saying that when you play the songs while using the shuffle, they play in alphabetical order?
If so, when you listen to the songs on the shuffle, are you using the playlist, or are you using the All Songs list? If you are in the default All Songs list, with the shuffle's power switch set to play-in-order (the middle position), the songs play alphabetically, I believe.
The 3rd gen shuffle uses VoiceOver.  If you are in the All Songs list, you need to use VoiceOver to switch to the playlist (see manual linked below for details).  When you are in the playlist (with the shuffle's power switch set to play-in-order), then the songs should play in playlist order.
There are more details in the manual for the 3rd gen shuffle, which is online here
    http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iPod_shuffle_3rdGen_UG.pdf
See page 22 for the section about setting up and using VoiceOver.  The part about switching playlists starts on page 23 (Using the Playlist Menu).

  • Since installing mountain lion i have a problem with mail. when i delete a message close  and open mail the message has come back. please help!

Since installing Mountain Lion i have a problem with Mail. I delete a number of messages from the same person but keep the newest message in my Inbox. I actually delete them from the Trash. The next time i open Mail the deleted messages are back again. Can anybody please help as this is getting annoying. Thanks in Anticipation.

Problems such as yours are sometimes caused by files that should belong to you but are locked or have wrong permissions. This procedure will check for such files. It makes no changes and therefore will not, in itself, solve your problem.
    First, empty the Trash.
Triple-click the line below to select it, then copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
    find ~ $TMPDIR.. \( -flags +sappnd,schg,uappnd,uchg -o ! -user $UID -o ! -perm -600 -o -acl \) 2> /dev/null | wc -l
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). The command may take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear.
The output of this command, on a line directly below what you entered, will be a number such as "41." Please post it in a reply.

  • Problem with AppleID in iTunes store on iPod

For some reason when I go to update or download new apps in the itunes store on my iPod it no longer shows my complete appleID when it asks for my password and therefore I can't log in.  On the store settings page it shows my proper ID and lets me log in, but on the actual store is shows my ID without the e-mail suffix, so I can't log in.  Has anybody else encountered this problem and figured out how to fix it?  This problem has started since my last iOS upgrade.

Since hardware cannot be changed with software, perhaps you would be so kind as to post the exact wording of the message?
