Synching ADF tree table and adf tree

Hi,
I am facing issue in syncing the data between adf treetable and tree
Here is my use case
I have one treetable and one tree in the UI..
treeTable shows the hierarchical view and tree represents the flat view of the same data.
If I delete the data in the tree view and then go to treeTable the deleted shows still show in this view and same happens in other case...
Any pointer to this will be of great help
Thanks

Do you see that you are using difference object in below table gui def.
snapshotList and snapshotList1.
ADF code:
<af:table value="#{bindings.snapshotList1.collectionModel}"
var="row" rows="#{bindings.snapshotList1.rangeSize}"
emptyText="#{bindings.snapshotList1.viewable ? 'No data to display.' : 'Access Denied.'}"
fetchSize="#{bindings.snapshotList1.rangeSize}"
width="53.5%" rowBandingInterval="0" id="t1"
selectionListener="#{bindings.snapshotList.collectionModel.makeCurrent}"
selectedRowKeys="#{bindings.snapshotList.collectionModel.selectedRow}"
rowSelection="single"
visible="#{viewScope.myBean.isFlat}"
binding="#{viewScope.myBean.table}">
Please generate getter and setter both.
MB code..
private RichTable table;
public RichTable getTable() {
return table;
public void setTreeTable(RichTreeTable treeTable) {
this.treeTable = treeTable;
delete button is outside.. it is in a panelGroupLayout
<af:commandButton text="#{vtsnapshotuiBundle.DELETE}"
id="delete_id"
disabled="#{viewScope.myBean.buttonDisable}"
actionListener="#{my_delete_func}"
Thanks,
Hasim

  • JDev 11g TP4: ADF tables and ADF form pop-ups PPR?

    I was hoping somebody could help me with the following please.
    I'm currently having a bit of an issue with ADF tables and ADF forms embedded in a pop-up, where the wrong record is shown in the popup. I suspect it's a PPR problem but am unsure. My scenario:
    1) I have the following table:
    CREATE TABLE "CHRIS_MUIR_DELETE_ME" (
    "ID" NUMBER(5,0)
    "SOME_COLUMN" VARCHAR2(20 BYTE)
    CONSTRAINT "CHRIS_MUIR_DELETE_ME_PK" PRIMARY KEY ("ID"));2) I have a default ADF BC EO/VO combination for this table.
    3) I have an ADF Faces RC page with a read-only table based on this VO:
    <af:table value="#{bindings.ChrisMuirDeleteMeView.collectionModel}" var="row"
       rows="#{bindings.ChrisMuirDeleteMeView.rangeSize}"
       emptyText="#{bindings.ChrisMuirDeleteMeView.viewable ? 'No rows yet.' : 'Access Denied.'}"
       fetchSize="#{bindings.ChrisMuirDeleteMeView.rangeSize}"
       selectedRowKeys="#{bindings.ChrisMuirDeleteMeView.collectionModel.selectedRow}"
       selectionListener="#{bindings.ChrisMuirDeleteMeView.collectionModel.makeCurrent}"
       rowSelection="single" partialTriggers="myDialog">
      <af:column sortProperty="Id" sortable="false"
        headerText="#{bindings.ChrisMuirDeleteMeView.hints.Id.label}">
         <af:outputText value="#{row.Id}">
            <af:convertNumber groupingUsed="false" pattern="#{bindings.ChrisMuirDeleteMeView.hints.Id.format}"/>
         </af:outputText>
      </af:column>
      <af:column sortProperty="SomeColumn" sortable="false"
         headerText="#{bindings.ChrisMuirDeleteMeView.hints.SomeColumn.label}">
        <af:outputText value="#{row.SomeColumn}"/>
      </af:column>
    </af:table>Note that rowSelection is set to "single".
    3) The page also includes a popup-dialog combo that shows the same data from the table (ie. they're based on the same VO) as an ADF Input Form:
    <af:popup id="myPopUp">
      <af:dialog type="okCancel" id="myDialog">
         <af:panelFormLayout>
            <af:inputText value="#{bindings.Id.inputValue}"
                label="#{bindings.Id.hints.label}"
                required="#{bindings.Id.hints.mandatory}">
               <f:validator binding="#{bindings.Id.validator}"/>
               <af:convertNumber groupingUsed="false" pattern="#{bindings.Id.format}"/>
            </af:inputText>
            <af:inputText value="#{bindings.SomeColumn.inputValue}"
                label="#{bindings.SomeColumn.hints.label}"
                required="#{bindings.SomeColumn.hints.mandatory}"/>
            </af:inputText>
         </af:panelFormLayout>
      </af:dialog>
    </af:popup>Note that the table's partialTriggers is set to the id of the dialog. This implies on return from the dialog, the table will update itself to reflect any changes.
    4) I have a data bound Create commandButton, + a simple Edit commandButton. The Edit button includes an <af:showPopupBehavior> to display the popup:
    <af:commandButton
        actionListener="#{bindings.Create.execute}" text="Create"
        disabled="#{!bindings.Create.enabled}"
        partialTriggers="table1"/>
    <af:commandButton text="Edit">
        <af:showPopupBehavior popupId="myPopUp"/>
    </af:commandButton>If you run the form with the following steps, you can reproduce my issue:
    1) Click the create button, this will create a blank record in the <af:table>
    2) Click the edit button and give the 2 fields values, press ok. Note this is reflected back in the table.
    3) Click the create button, you will now see another blank record in the <af:table>. Note that the current row selection highlight is on the new record.
    4) In the table select the original record, then the Edit button. Oddly the input form is showing the blank record, not the original record even though we selected it in the <af:table>
    This implies to me that I have to hook up a PPR event such that the fields on the popup know to update themselves when the user selects a new row in the table.
    I've tried setting the partialTriggers property for the popup, dialog and individual fields on the popup page to the table id, but this doesn't seem to work.
    Does anybody have any suggestions on how I'm meant to hook up the partialTriggers in this case? I'm at a bit of a loss to know what to do to solve this issue. Is it possible the table selectionListener isn't working?
    Thanks for your help in advance.
    Regards,
    CM.

    G'day gang
    This morning I had a chance to play with Pavle's suggestions, specifically the popup contentDelivery option, and it's solved the issue. Specifically changing the contentDelivery option to lazyUncached was the golden solution.
    As the popup component help states, the default functionality is: "lazy -- the default strategy described above. The content isn't loaded until you show the popup once, but then is cached."
    ....cached being the issue I was seeing.....
    While the lazyUncached options states: "lazyUncached -- the content isn't loaded until you show the popup, and then is re-fetched every subsequent time you show the popup. Use this strategy if the popup shows data that can become stale."
    The nasty thing about the lazy option is the fact that in the dialog it can show the previous cached result (even though you've selected a different record), and you can even appear to edit that cached result in the dialog, but when you press okay in the dialog and return to the previous table, it's updated the record you selected, not the cached result.
    Confusing, but not a bug if you understand the popup contentDelivery options.
    Frank, if you'd like it, I have the simple test case available to send you. But as it's not a bug I wont send it to you unless requested.
    Thanks to both of you for your assistance with this one. Once again your help is much appreciated! :)
    I'll take time out to blog about this in the next few weeks to assist others.
    Thanks & regards,
    CM.

  • Two iterators browsing the same data (a table and a tree) problem

    I have an ADF UIX application with a navigation tree and a central page with a table of the records of a Works view object.
    There is a hierarchical relationship of Works ->Subworks-> Tasks which is shown in the tree. In the central part of the page, there is a table of Works.
    I want
    1) the tree to show all the data, but only about 10 works at a time (using small arrows for scrolling up and down)
    2) the table to show only 10 or 20 records each time. Not the same with the tree.
    3) Both clicking on a link on the tree and selecting a work on the table will open the appropriate page.
    4) Opening the children of a node in the tree and clicking on the links being able to send me directly in the correct subwork or task page EVEN if I haven't visited the parent node (work) first.
    I cannot seem to be able to succed in the "even if" part of 4 and I can succeed in only any 2 of the first three.
    If the tree iterator and table iterator point to the same view object (work1 for example), it is impossible to show a different set of works in the tree and the table
    If I use different view objects, then, if the tree part is working, the table selection doesn't work. I imagined that's a problem with "SetCurrentRowWithIndex" and I tried to set up correctly a "SetCurrentRowWithKey" event, but I didn't know how to write the handler. (I use JHS event handling, by the way)
    I suppose the following has errors:
    <event name="setCurrentRowWithKey" source="GetaeergView1">
    <set target="${bindings.GetaeergView1Iterator}" property="currentRowKeyInRange" value="${ui:tableSelectedKey(uix, 'GetaeergView1')}"/>
    </event>
    Any suggestions?

    Noone has tried this again?

  • ADF table and ADF form on the same view object

    Hi,
    As per the ADF demos available on ADF site, I created a jsf page with 2 panels. One panel is an ADF table based on a view object. And the other panel is and ADF form based on the same view object. My requirement is that as I scroll through the records in the ADF table, the ADF Form should dynamically display the details of the record in the ADF table. My understanding is that this should be automatic. However, its not working as expected. What have I missed?

    Hi,
    Apply PPR for form that displays details.
    Like :
    <af:table id="t3">
    </af:table>
    <af:panelFormLayout id="pfl2" partialTriggers="t3">
    </af:panelFormLayout >

  • ADF-Faces table and mass data

    Hello Oracle,
    we consider to use ADF-Faces with Spring and TopLink or Hibernate that supports all important commercial databases.
    We need a solution for selecting mass data and show them using a ADF-Faces component.
    ADF-Faces table looks great and is fine for for some hundred datasets. But we have customers who could do a select over 80.000 or more datasets and it cannot be the solution to load them completly in collection-model in memory.
    Do you have a solution or do you plan somthing? A JSF data table component for mass data (e.g. load from database on every "next or "previous" click)?
    Regards
    Florian

    I'm pretty new to ADF Faces etc. but I know the ADF Table component supports paging. If you're using ADF Business Components as the persistence framework it supports paging out of the box giving you exactly what you're looking for.
    If you're using EJBs or Toplink I think you have to write your own paging interface but I don't know this for sure.

  • Problem with a master tree table and its detail table

    Hello,
    I have a master treetable showing on a page and a separated detail table below the treetable on the same page.
    To make the things clear, three tables are involved here: one master and one detail table to compose the treetable, and another detail table for the current selected row in the treetable.
    Things usually work fine when operating on the detail table. However, if I create or delete some rows from the detail table and press Rollback, some unwanted behaviour happens.
    In facts, on Rollback, both the master treetable and the detail table are redrawn on the page.
    However, once refreshed, despite the current selected row in the treetable still appears as the one before clicking Rollback (suppose not the first one), the detail table always correspond to the first row of the master treetable.
    Is there a way to either make the current selected row the first one the master treetable, or (preferred) to make detail table reflect the visible current selected row in the treetable?
    thanks

    jabr,
    ok . i will go through
    but if u don mine here john n timo says for me. pls check it.

  • Making a delete commit automatically with ADF BC, Struts and ADF UIX

    I'm trying to create a delete action that commits to the database automatically using ADF Business Components, Struts and ADF UIX.
    I have a browse page from which the user can view all records in the table, and perform edit, create and delete actions on the data.
    When the user selects a record and clicks edit they are taken to a screen where they can amend the details of that record. Create works in a similar way, but the create action on the view object is invoked before taking the user to the edit page (this is done by linking the browse page to an ADF DataAction (bound to Create) on the Struts page flow diagram, and then linking the ADF DataAction to the edit page).
    When the user clicks submit on the edit page, the container follows a forward from the edit page to an ADF DataAction bound to the Commit method, and then from there a forward back to the browse page.
    This seems to work fine for edit and create, but when I try to do something similar for delete, it behaves unpredictably - sometimes the delete is committed to the database, sometimes not.
    To be more specific, the way I have tried to implement the auto commit delete is as follows:
    There is a UIX submitButton on the browse page called Delete. When clicked, this button triggers an event, which is caught by an event handler inside the page. The event handler causes the UIX servlet to take a forward to an ADF DataAction bound to the Delete method on the relevant view object. It thens follows a forward from the previously mentioned DataAction to another ADF DataAction bound to the Commit method for the application module. There is then a forward leading back to the browse page.
    Has anyone else encountered similar problems?

    did you figure this out?

  • ADF Faces table and link to detail

    Hi all,
    I am trying to create a link to a detail page from an ADF table. My problem is, that the action is invoked as often as there are entries in my table. Interesting enough the param "objektId" each time contains the same primary key from the link that has been chosen. This is the code that I am using:
    <h:form>
    <af:table value="#{organisationListe.trefferzeilen}" var="row">
    <af:column sortable="false" formatType="text">
    <h:commandLink action="#{organisationListe.showDetail}">
    <f:param name="objektId" value="#{row.trefferobjektId}"/>
    <af:outputText value="#{row.anzeige01}"/>
    </h:commandLink>
    </af:column>
    </af:table>
    </h:form>
    Does anyone know the reason for this behavior?
    FYI: I don't want to use TableSelectOne as I do not want to have a radio button next to the rows - the customer insists on having a link.
    Regards
    Peter

    Hi,
    1. you don't need <af:outputText value="#{row.anzeige01}"/> if using af:commandLink because it has a text attribute. Less code is less work.
    2. You cannot use the parameter for this because the request map always shows empty, try
              <af:column sortable="false" headerText="Details">
                <af:commandLink text="Detail for #{row.EmployeeId}"
                                action="#{ShowDetailLinkInTableBean.showDetail}"
                                partialSubmit="true">
                  <af:setActionListener from="#{row.EmployeeId}"
                                        to="#{sessionScope.empId}"/>
                </af:commandLink>
              </af:column>in the mangaged bean
        public String showDetail() {
            FacesContext fctx = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
            System.out.println("---"+fctx.getExternalContext().getSessionMap().get("empId"));
            return null;
        }Note that even when using f:param the code never executes more than one time

  • How do I add ADF Faces Core and ADF Faces Html to the component palette?

    I have an already made jspx page which I wish to work further on but I can´t choose ADF components from the component palette.
    in my older version I added these two lines to the <jsp:root> element when I wanted to make ADF components available.
    xmlns:af="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/faces"
    xmlns:afh="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/faces/html"
    but in Jdeveloper 11g preview 3 these two lines seem to have no effect.
    I tried to see what other jspx pages that contained ADF components in 11g had that my page didn´t and found out that they had the line
    xmlns:af="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/faces/rich"
    but when I add this line instead of the other two lines and press install JSP tag library Jdeveloper freezes completely. Can anyone help me get ADF components show up in the component palette in Jdeveloper 11g preview 3?

    Hello,
    Jdeveloper 11g uses Trinidad not ADF Faces 10g, to add it, uses the following:
    1. Double-click your project to access project properties;
    2. Select JSP Tag Libraries;
    3. Click Add;
    4. Trinidad Component 11-m3

  • ADF Tree table is not exapanding

    Hi all,
    I have to implement an ADF tree table along with a form. I have three Views,
    two of the views are used to populate the Tree table, And one of the view used in the Tree population is used to manipualte the form,
    And the third one is to populate a table. And I have a Popup call button in the same panelCollection where the tree table is placed
    I am facing two issues with the the tree table.
    1. The tree table is not expanding, if I click on the '+' on the node it won't expand and it will show me small circle which is trying to open the node.
    But if I click on the Popup button and cancel(RollBack) the popup and come to the node, it will exapand. I don't kow why it is....
    2. As I said I have a Form and I have to populate the form based on the selection in the tree table nodes, the form filed is same as that of the view used to populate the Tree table view.
    But when i click on the tree table nodes it is not chaning the record according to the selection in the tree nodes. But in a master Detail form it is working fine. It is always pointing to the first record.
    Please help.....

    No vinod, I am not getting any kind of exceptions..
    And mY tree table is
    <af:treeTable value="#{bindings.TestVO.treeModel}"

  • How to use tree tables with CRUD operation for begineers ADF 11g

    This is Friday night call for help.
    This is only few sample ressources on the web for tree table and only one with CRUD operation.
    I used this one http://jobinesh.blogspot.com/2010/05/crud-operations-on-tree-table.html because this is the only one that address CRUD.
    And it is shaky. Deletion works fine but insertion not very well. This is working using custom code provided below.
    Depending if the user selection in the tree, the code insert from the master node to the children node.
    Any other options because it is not working well.
    Also where Oracle describes how to use the row, rowset, itorator API? This is really hard to understand like almost if we should not use it.
    then if not how can I insert in tree with two nodes and insert in the parent or children depending the users selection.
    Lately I 'been posting questions on this forum with no response. This hurts. I understand developers cannot spend their time on this but People from Oracle, please help. We pay licenses...
    public void createChildren(RowIterator ri, Key selectedNodeKey) {
    final String deptViewDefName = "model.DepartmentsView";
    final String empViewDefName = "model.EmployeesView";
    if (ri != null && selectedNodeKey != null) {
    Row last = ri.last();
    Key lastRowKey = last.getKey();
    // if the select row is not the last row in the row iterator...
    Row[] found = ri.findByKey(selectedNodeKey, 1);
    if (found != null && found.length == 1) {
    Row foundRow = found[0];
    String nodeDefname =
    foundRow.getStructureDef().getDefFullName();
    if (nodeDefname.equals(deptViewDefName)) {
    RowSet parents =
    (RowSet)foundRow.getAttribute("EmployeesView");
    Row childrow = parents.createRow();
    parents.insertRow(childrow);
    } else {
    RowSet parents =
    (RowSet)foundRow.getAttribute("EmployeesView");
    Row childrow = parents.createRow();
    childrow.setAttribute("DepartmentId",
    foundRow.getAttribute("DepartmentId"));
    parents.insertRow(childrow);
    } else {
    System.out.println("Node not Found for " + selectedNodeKey);
    }

    I am looking for a sample that describe how to design a jsf page with a tree table.
    So you have Department and employees. In the tree first comes Department and if you click the node you see the employees assigned to this department.
    I need to be able to insert a new department or a new employee from the tree table by clicking on a insert button in the panel collection toolbar depending on user selection in the tree.
    I got part of it working but not good enough.
    By problem is the get insertion working
    I have a createChildren method in my AM implementation that get in input a RowIterator and selected node key.
    To goal is to create new records depending of the user selection and the input parameters get populated by the binding like this:
    #{backing_treeSampleBean.selectedNodeRowIterator} #{backing_TreeSampleBean.selectedNodeRowkey} via method binding with parameters.
    Is it the right approach?
    First to be able to insert a parent record, I select nothing in the tree and ri and selectedNodeKey comes to null
    we run this code
    ViewObjectImpl vo = getSchHolidaySchedExceptionsView1();
    //ViewObjectImpl vo = getDepartmentsView1();
    Row foundRow = vo.first();
    Row childrow = vo.createRow();
    vo.insertRow(childrow);
    A new blank entry appears in the parent node and we enter a value.
    The the problem starts when we want to add a child to this parent.
    We select the created parent and press the insert button, this code get executed
    if (nodeDefname.equals(deptViewDefName))
    //list of the children of the parent and create an new row
    RowSet childRows = (RowSet)foundRow.getAttribute("SchHolidayExceptionDatesView");
    Row childrow = childRows.createRow();
    childRows.insertRow(childrow);
    But the new entry does not appear, it is almost like it would be created for a different parent because this is a mandatory field that is not feel in yet and the interface complaints of a missing value. It is created somewhere just not a the right place... This is my guess.
    Do you see something wrong with the code?
    The full code og my create children method is there below
    I am using jdeveloper 11.1.1.3.0 any issues with tree table to know about with this version?
    Thanks for your help

    if (ri != null && selectedNodeKey != null) {

    Row last = ri.last();
    Key lastRowKey = last.getKey();
