Synchronization Process

We need use a synchronous method for synchronization between Oracle Database Lite clients and the Oracle database server through the Mobile Server.
The download phase has to be dependent on the upload phase.
Is it posible?
Thanks.

I've tried synchronize and successed. But I don't know, when I Synchronize database mobile and server, the size is grow up enventhough no differences both of them. Why ?
When I need 'custom' type for sync beside server and client? What example for custom ?
thank's

Did you have a windows form or a web based application? Did you use LoadRunner to invoke multiple concurrent synchronization calls to move data from the lite database to the back-end database? Also, was LoadRunner executing against one instance of your application or multiple instances? Were application instances running on one machine or multiple machines? We are just trying to get a better understanding of your application/load test setup and see if it was structurally similar to ours.
We basically have a windows form based application designed for a single user. This application allows user to synchronize data from Olite to back-end Oracle database after user has completed their data entry.
We wanted to test the performance of our synchronization process. That is how many user can concurrently synchronize their data at the same time.
Given that our application is a single user application, we decided to invoke multiple instances of application on a single machine and then simultaneously try to synchronize (via a tool) each instance of the application. Hence the error.
    Thanks for your feedback.

Could you please help me out of the issue?

    Hi,
It seems like that you are encountering event 31552, you may check operation manager event logs for more information regarding to this issue.
There can be many causes of getting this 31552 event, such as:
A sudden flood (or excessive sustained amounts) of data to the warehouse that is causing aggregations to fail moving forward.
The Exchange 2010 MP is imported into an environment with lots of statechanges happening.
Excessively large ManagedEntityProperty tables causing maintenance to fail because it cannot be parsed quickly enough in the time allotted.
Too much data in the warehouse staging tables which was not processed due to an issue and is now too much to be processed at one time.
Please go through the links below to get more information about troubleshooting this issue:

  • Incomplete Data - Synchronization process

    Hi! Everyone
When I want to get a new information I have to sync. But I have to do the synchronization process around three to four times in order to get new information.
Can anyone tell me what is the problem I am having ???
Why I am gettign the message Data is incomplete so many times.
The complete screen of the message I get is as follow:
    Synchronization started
    • Connection set up (without proxy) to: http://172.26.33.22:8000/sap/bc/MJC/mi_host?~sysid=bwp&
    • Successfully connected with server.
    • Processing of inbound data began.
    • Data is incomplete for user MAM NORPRO001 and application MAM25
    • Data is complete for user MAM NORPRO001 and application Framework
    Thank you

    Hi Xiamora,
well, I guess in your case repetitive sync is switched on, but the SyncBO is not set to SYNCHRONOUS. In that case the sync starts, sets up the request for new data and then it is done for him. Meanwhile the replicator runs in the background. You can check in MEREP_PD how the  data is collected and how the O_WAITNG cue fills up. Then with the sync only a chunk of data comes down each time - not everything in your case.
Set the SyncBOs to SYNCHRONOUS and all should work file.
This setting was lost as you deployed the latest MAM war file, cause it is specific for the version.
    Hope that helps!

    Oliver

    Hello,
When I connect my iPhone 4S to my MacBook Pro (through the USB port), the synchronization process by iTunes failed with the following message "My iPhone could not be synchronized, because the synchronization process has not started".

  • Sharepoint 2010 user profile full synchronization process

what is the impact of sharepoint 2010 user profile full synchronization process in sharepoint 2010 farm.
If you have 5k users in your environment and you want to run full synchronization process, will that bring any services down?
I guess it should only impact anything related to user profile service?
    Is my assumption correct?
features like people search, my profile might be impacted but not the sharepoint site itself ...
    Any input will be appreciated...
    -Mit
    SP-Admin_Mit

Running a full synchronisation isn't going to bring down any of your SharePoint services. How much time it takes, and the impact it will have on other SharePoint services all depends on your SharePoint architecture. E.g is the synchronisation server also
a WFE (web front end) server?
According to the TechNet documentation, the synchronisation process makes heavy use of network resources, so that might be a concern.
Also, other factors, such as different synchronisation sources (other LOB systems you might be synchronising with) will have an impact on the time and resources used to perform the synchronisation.
If your SQL servers and SharePoint application servers are sized correctly, you should be fine (from a SharePoint perspective).

  • DOE Synchronization Process

    Hi,
We are working with MAM (MI Client JSP for PDA) on Mobile 7.1 and my customer would like to make the synchronization process easier to the end user.
    Today we have this process:
    - Create the device and associate the device profile to the user.
    - 1st Sync: download the application
    - 2nd Sync: the SWCVs become operational and the data are extracted from CDS to device outbound queue
    - 3rd Sync: data are downloaded to from device outbound queue to MI Client
And I would like to know, if it´s possible to configure the sync process on the following way:
    - Create the device and associate the device profile to the user. At this moment, automatically, the SWCVs become operational and the device data are extracted to outbound queue.
    - 1st Sync: download the application and data.
    or
    - Create the device and associate the device profile to the user.
    - 1st Sync: download the application.
    - 2nd Sync: the SWCVs become operational, the data are extracted from CDS to device outbound queue and then they are downloded into MI Client
I can make these processes manually (making SWCV operational and triggering the data) but I haven´t found a way to do it automatically.
I have tried to configure MI Client JSP for PDA with repetitive sync, but I haven´t had success. I tried the parameters:
    com.sap.tc.mobile.cfs.sync.repetitiveSync.maximumNumberOfSyncs=5
    com.sap.tc.mobile.cfs.sync.repetitiveSync.timeBetweenSyncs=30000
    com.sap.tc.mobile.cfs.sync.repetitiveSync.activated=true
    and
    MobileEngine.Sync.MaximumNumberOfRepetitiveSyncs=5
    MobileEngine.Sync.TimeBetweenRepetitiveSyncs=30000
    MobileEngine.Sync.RepetitiveSyncEnabled=true
    And it didn´t work.
Does anyone know if it is possible?
    Thanks.
    Bruno

My environment is the Mobile 7.1 OCA but the business scenario was the same as you describe.
It was a hassle to have users sync three times to setup their devices (1 - register, 2- get application, 3- get data).
To resolve issue, we use "Setup Package", once created it install the "client", the data, and DMSCW are operational all at the same time, synchronization is not required.
I am not familiar with the JSP client, so I cannot give exact instructions on what to do but if you can figure out "Setup Package" for the mobile client you are using, it will simplify the setup, for us it took something that was about 20-30 minutes (3-4 syncs) to 5min setup.
    This may be of help
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwmobile71/helpdata/en/f3/27c52e28684d82b63423593b9eb3b7/frameset.htm
I am not sure why your repetitive sync parameters are not working, just be sure it is associated to the CONFIG agent, at least that is a requirement for setting parameters with OCA client
*Also the repetitive does not help you skip that 3 time sync issue.
The 3 time sync issue from my experience was based on Sync Sessions, not the sync cycles, so you can increase the sync cycles with reptitive sync, but you will still need 3 separate sync sessions.... at least that was my experience.
I did not do much testing with this, I limited to 3 repetitive cycles and at most 1 min intervals.  There might be possibility if you increase the number of cycles or increase the interval enough you skip the need to sync "three" times.
SAP Mobile experts please correct if I misunderstood how this works.

  • Will iTunes ever Enhance the Synchronization Process?

This is more of iTunes suggestion and if anyone knows how to not use hot patch or third party workarounds to accomlish what I would like to see, great.
I have long stuggled with the time consuming aspect of Syncing with iTunes.  If I add one new Contact in Outlook, I really don't want to sync Music, Photos, Browser Bookmarks, Calendar etc every single time. It's very slow and time consuming for such small updates. To be truly user freindly and considerate, it would be nice to Sync (if desired) any one aspect without the entire process as Options to the full Sync. I am not against Syncing everything, but when it makes sense to do so.
iTunes also only lists IE and Safari for syncing bookmarks.  I realize Apple and Microsoft are two dominat players for certain products but in the browser market share (desktops NOT mobile), Microsoft has been falling for years (~54%) and Safari  is barely a trace at ~5%.  So why is Firefox ~20% and Chrome ~19% not options? Bias perhaps. Desktop computing is far from dead and PC's  ~92% which I use for my business and MAC ~7%.
I LOVE my iPhone, the iPad and Apple for these products which seem to constanly update, but iTunes remains basically unfriendly.

Hi I just tried to add Outlook to my iPhone and every thing went haywire. I love this phone for many other reasons but to sync, download, or any software transfer is time consuming, usually does not work. iTunes just needs more attention from its developers, and/or sponsers

  • Anyone tried using LDIF file in the User Profile Synchronization Process?

Microsoft pushied an article recently talking about using LDIF file in the SharePoint's user profile synchronization.
Configure profile synchronization using a Lightweight Directory Interchange Format (LDIF) file (SharePoint Server 2010) http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff959234.aspx
Currently I am unable to obtain the required "Replicate Directory Change" permission set up by the AD admin.  So I thought of exploring this alternative since I still have AD search permission right now.
So far, I was able to set up the MOSSLDAP-LDIFMA, and use an import.ldif file to add, remove and update user profiles.  However, there are some problems that I can't resolve.  One of key problems is, the LDIF-imported records can't be
    sync'd with login-based records.
In my environment, when a user login SharePoint via Windows authentication, a new profile would be added, under the account name "domain\username".  Meanwhile, when an LDIF record imported, there will be another profile created under the account
name "domain:domain\username", or "domain:username".  That is, there would be two profiles for each user.
Based on my understanding, it is very likely the user profile synchronization is based on the user's account name.  But in document and sample files provided, I can't find out any clue how to prepare the ldif file so that it will update the
matching records, instead of creating new ones.
    Any help?  Thanks in advance.

Has anyone managed to get this to work?
It's nice that Microsoft offers the ability to import user profiles via LDIF into SharePoint, but it is useless if the account name is not correct after the import. I have tried multiple imports from the LDIF to get a user account to show up as  "domain\username" but
it always ends up as "domain:domain\username", or "domain:username".  or a variation
of these 2 with a colon separating the domain form the username. i see that multiple people have had the same problem, but unfortunetaly can't seem to find a solution. Also I see Bradley mentions that he was able to import accounts using get-QADUser,
but he doesnt mention what the accounts import as or if it resolved the domain colon issue.
Thanks in advance for any help or information anyone can provide.
    cheers,

  • Queries related to MAM configuration and MI synchronization

    Hi,
I have queries as to the synchronization in MI & MAM
    1. When I am synchronizing with MI Server, the requests are going in I-Waiting work lists in  work list monitor..  What could be the reason for it.
    2. I require clarification as to exact purpose of the variants used in Master data selections of the MAM configuration. Is it to reduce the replicator database or to reduce the handheld database.
I have created one variant for each FL, equipment and measurement points
    A. The FL variant downloads all the necessary FL to the MI server. We havent assigned the variant to the user so as download the ony the FLs related to work orders.
    B. The Equipment variant doesnt download any equipments because we are not using any equipments
    C. The measurement point variant downloads the measurement points related to the FLs mentioned in the FL variant.
In the above scenario, we are able to download Work orders, Functional locations but not able download measurement points. In our scenario, we dont have equipments and measurement points are related to FL directly. The work list monitor displays "No data from R/3 downloaded".
Is it due to the MAM configuration ?
Can I debug the synchronization process in MI server so as to simulate the events happening when a synchronization is requested from MI client.
    Thanks
    Raj

    Hi Raja,
Question 1: Two possible reasons for I-Waiting - breakpoint in backend BAPI and it waits for action. Or one of the SyncBOs is not activated (very common reason, check merep_pd).
Question 2: "Master data selection" is for replication. Technical objects on the device are coming from three sourses - when they are referenced on order and notif header level, when they are in order object list (and this is activated on the backend), standalone TOs configured in "user-dependent data".
Normally, if order references FL, FL should come to the device, if this FL references Meas. Point it should come to the deice as well. If you check logs for FL you will probably see "cascading error" for the meas. point. Few things to check - this meas. point is returned by the BAPI MAM041_getlist so it is suposed to be replicated. If it is in the list - check BAPI MAM041_getdetail to see that it does not return error. No error - check DB on the middleware to see that it is indeed replicated.

    5. Close and open Blackberry Desktop Manager to perform the synchronization process again and Outlook will be in the list...
    Vista commands
    1. Right-Click on Command Prompt in Start Menu and choose Run as Administrator
    2. Navigate to C:\Program Files\Research in Motion\Blackberry\IS71 Connectors\MS Outlook Connector by typing: c:\> CD program      files\research in motion\blackberry\is71 connectors\ms outlook connector
    3. Then type in the command prompt, type: regsvr32 MsOutlookConnector.fil
    4. If the registration is successful, the following message displays:
    DllRegisterSErver in msoutlookconnector.fil succeeded.
    5. Close and open Blackberry Desktop Manager to perform the synchronization process again and Outlook will be in the list...
If you receive the error message DllRegisterServer failed with error code 0x80070005 - you do not have admin rights. So, it's important that you run command prompt as admin.
Let me know about the device and the version of desktop software.

  • Calling Synchronous process in a loop

    Hi
I am facing a problem while I am tring to call Synchronous process in a loop. I am having a parent process that fetch batches numbers (list of batches) and loop for each of them and call a child Synchronous process to do some activity.
the issue here is that the output variable on the process is taking the value that returns from the first batch call and keep repeating it for all the rest batches. I tried to initialize it to null every time I am entring the loop but strangly it has been overrided with the output variable of the first batch and then for the rest it just initialized to null and not had been overriden.
any body face this before or knows about it
    thanks and best regards,
    Baraa

This is Arun (working with Baraa in same Company)
    Let me eloborate the situvation
Facing problem while I call a Sync process from an Async process using while loop.
When I call sync child multiple times from a parent process using a While loop the response msg from child process is not correct.
    Meaning for instance let say
    Parent process : P
Child processes : C1, C2, C3     (assuming the loop goes for three iteration)
The expected response msg of the individual process where
    C1: 10000
    C2: 999
    C3 :           (null)
But when I go through the audit of the parent process I could see all responses as 10000, meaning the response of the child process is not getting reflected in Parent process correctly
Whereas when I inspect individual child process response; I could see the correct values.
Note: I am using End Point Reference technique to call the child process
    Any Idea.
    Requirement:
    Parameter: Source System Name
(this parameter decides which child to call, basically this will be the SERVICE on WSDL pointing to the child process)
A parent Async process has to call a Sync child process “n” number of times (“n” get derived at run time) WHILE loop
The parent will decide which child process to call at runtime (Dynamic call using EndPointReference)
    Some thing like below:
    <Set END POINT REFERENCE>
    <WHILE>
    Invoke Child (synchronize process)
    <END LOOP>

    I found the problem.
In fact, it is a PC Sync bug in the parameters module, because I just recreated the parameters from scratch and it works.
Consequently, don't edit the parameters once they have been created. If you want to modify parameters, recreate them !

    Hi Bill,
You must have an MI Server with an ABAP+Java Stack installation to use SAP Mobile Infrastructure. There is no way around it. The Java stack really just handles communication and some administration, but 99 percent of the functionality of MI exists on the ABAP Stack. Thats where all the logic is written, where the SyncBo's are created, where you monitor the data handling, its where your replica DB is..and the communication between the backend and the MI Server occurs through the ABAP Stack (rfc connection).
    Hope this helps,
    Wael Aoudi
