Synchronizing Persisting

Hi All ,
iam using JPA/Hibernate (EntityManager 3.3.1) and ThreadLocal / Session Facade pattern of creating the EntityManager (Bean Managed) , i have a case where i should generate the ID of my entity during the @PrePersist callback , the generation of the ID depends on selecting the current value from the DB , my question is how can i ensure that the PrePersist and the Actuall Persisting operation will happened without interruption from other thread ( to avoid dirty read ) ,
Thanks and Best Regards,

  • Synchronizing persistent tmux loginctl session ID with new session

    Hey all. Does anyone else have the issue with a persistent tmux session losing it's 'active' session status with loginctl after restarting the window manager (monsterwm in this case, logging in automatically on VT1 per the wiki)? This causes issues with udisks mounting priviliges. I'd think it'd cause issues with pulseaudio but it doesn't (and I don't understand why).
    So, to reproduce:
    1. Fresh reboot and login
    2. Open terminal. $XDG_SESSION_ID will be 1
    3. Open tmux instance. $XDG_SESSION_ID will be 1
    4. Restart the window manager
    5. Open terminal. $XDG_SESSION_ID = 3. loginctl session-status active=yes
    6. Reattach tmux session. XDG_SESSION_ID =1. loginctl session-status active=no
    Is there some easy way to keep these synchronized so I don't have permissions issues?
    Thanks!
    Scott

    No, it has nothing to do with host names, CNAME, DNS or anything.
    The session ID is sent to the server from the browser in either a cookie header or as part of the "extra info" part of a URL with the request. If there is no session ID in either place, the server creates a new session. If there is a session ID, then it gets the session object (if it's not expired). Then it sends the session ID back to the browser with the response to that request (either as a cookie or encoded into the URLs in the page, which you have to do explicitly do for each URL). Click on a link, then the process starts again. The first time you go to a site, you have no session ID. The server just makes a new one.
    The only thing that domain names have any affect on is cookies. Cuz cookies are name/value data associated with a domain name of the server (amongst other things). The browser, for security reasons, only sends cookies in requests to servers that set the cookie in the first place. The server can't get cookies that it didn't set.
    So if you have a server running on your local machine, you can access that server in 3 ways:
    1) localhost
    2) network name
    3) domain name
    The browser can know quite easily that 1 and 2 are the same thing, and send cookies for either interchangably (not that it has to, but it seems you are seeing this happen, so...). But the browser will probably not make any assumption about 3's relation to 1 or 2. The association is generally to domain name, not necessarily IP address.
    And it's really a moot point anyway. You should not typically be accessing a server from those 3 different means within the same session. Someone connecting to your server isn't going to use anything but #3 anyway, the other 2 (definitely #1 and #2 only works on the same LAN) wouldn't make much sense. So there's not going to be this issue at all. The session ID itself has no relation whatsoever to a client's domain name.

  • Synchronous vs Asynchronous

    Hi
    I am getting request timed out exception when invoking an asynchronous BPEL service from a synchrnous BPEL service.
    Am in the learning stage and created a async bpel with a wait of only 5 seconds and invoked it using a synchronous BPEL but still am getting a timedout error
    The invoked async process has completed after waiting for 5 seconfs but even then the sync process is waiting for response
    While invoking the the same asynchronous service using another async bpel service its working fine.
    why am getting this error while a async bpel service is invoked using a sync service
    Please help me understand

    that was helpful, i googled to find few links that would give a detailed understanding but not convincing.
    1. Sync Process with requiresNew starts in a new transaction .
    2. Invoke Async (async.persist, which causes to execute in a new transaction/thread) , the current sync thread/transaction is suspended on its receive activity and the new async thread starts
    3.When the async process is done, the call back(basically a invoke activity) invokes the caller
    What if sync process config is set to requires, since there is no transaction the BPEL service engine always starts a new transaction right?

  • Interface ABAP Proxy - File - Synchronous - (Is it possible???)

    Hi Experts,
    I want execute ABAP Proxy which will create File in FTP. On final, i need return "OK" information to the ABAP Proxy.
    Is it possible? ABAP Proxy <-> File Synchronous? Without BPM and Custom Module Adapter. Just using RequestResponseBean???
    Tks in advance.

    Hi Raj,
    Tks. I implemented the Acknowledgements Request and changed the ABAP Proxy to Async. But the Ack returns to the ECC with the error and is not saved in the Message. The error follows below:

  • NO EXCEPTION IS THROWN FROM THE PERSIST

    We are using Glassfish and MySQL. When we do a persist with a bad object/query, internal DB errors are NOT being reported back to the caller in any way, but Glassfish knows that the error occurred. Here is a schematic of the situation:
         Glassfish starts a CMP transaction and calls our bean
              Inside the bean we have code like this:
                   obj = (a new object that will cause a DB error when persisted)
                   try {
                        entityManager.persist(obj)
                   } catch (Throwable t) {
                        report to the user that the throwable happened
              bean returns
         Glassfish manages CMP transaction
    What we see is the following:
         - The persist has an internal failure and generates error messages in the Glassfish system.log file.
         - NO EXCEPTION IS THROWN FROM THE PERSIST, so the application code thinks that the persist completed correctly
         - At the end of the bean operation, Glassfish (correctly) rolls back the transaction.
    At the user level the result is that the request succeeds but nothing is put into the Database!
    We are not asking about the cause of the DB error. From reading the system log we know what happened and can fix it. Our problem is that problems in our field-deployed systems cannot be detected by the application code so failures cannot be reported to the user.
    The critical question is:
         Is there a way for the application code in the bean to see that an error occurred?
    By the way, we also have a secondary question: Why is the erroneous persist tried 6 times before deciding it won't work? Is there an option somewhere that says to try 6 times?
    The Exception as reported in the system log (only one copy of it) is included below.

    This is because the persistent context is not synchronized with the database until the commit is being executed.
    You might 'force' this by calling entityManager.flush() right after the call to persist(...).
    Or you register a transaction synchronizer and check the transaction status on afeterCompletion().

  • "Load Files into Photoshop Layers" persistent misalignment problem

    I'm having a persistent problem which technical support was unable to resolve after being on the phone with them for 1.5 hrs.
    I'm working in Bridge CC in ACR, synchronizing all parameters incl. crop, transform, exposure, etc. of a bracketed group of images shot from a solid tripod. When using the Tools / Photoshop / Load files into Photoshop layers command, the images open in photoshop in a layered file, BUT some are knocked out of alignment. Actually they have been cropped slightly smaller than the original file, always by the same number of pixels. Sometimes all layers are affected, sometimes not. Photoshop and Bridge are both up to date, as is the camera raw plugin. I’m on a new iMac i7 4-core, OSX 10.9.4. All software was newly downloaded from Adobe less than two weeks ago. I have reset preferences, even uninstalled and reinstalled Bridge CC 6.1.0.115 to no avail. Any suggestions?

    Hi JJMack - I just re-read your post. For some reason I thought you were suggesting to make sure "Open documents in Tabs" was selected, it was. Now I realize you were suggesting to turn it off! As another attemp to solve this problem I did de-select it today. Seemed to work for a good while. I was getting very excited, then, on the last set of images I had to do it displayed the same problem. But, it did go for quite a while without failing, and when it did I was thrashing about trying to make another app active. When loading documents like this - with "Open documents in Tabs" de-selected, Photoshop wants to put the loading images as the front-most window, no matter what other apps (Bridge, email, web etc) I click on in the dock. I think it is related to the bug you described effecting the "load files to stack" command.
    Hopefully Adobe is looking at this - mind you, I have read reports of people having this problem in CS5! Looks like that was never resolved sadly.
    I'll keep testing and post back.
    I am looking to upgrade my video card to see if it's a video memory thing.
    What is very weird though is the fact that this problem didn't present itself until after several weeks of working with this command with no problem. No additional apps installed, nothing changed. Why would it start happening only after a while?
    Thanks again for your suggestion.

  • Synchronous RFC functions from XI

    Please confirm my observations.
    I wanted to call a synchronously RFC Function i.e. Importing some data and Exporting some reply.
    The XI message monitor shows that the RFC adapter handles this call asynchronously i.e. QOS of EO and not BE as I would have expected.
    Is this behaviour I observe correct and does this then imply that there is no way of calling RFC enabled Functions on SAP expecting anything back
    Thanks

  • Integration Process not continuing after Synchronous BAPI call

    I have an integration process that splits up a batch file of purchase orders into single purchase order messages. This allows me to use the "ForEach" block to call the synchronous BAPI_PO_CREATE1.
    I have managed to get the process to call the BAPI and create the purchase order. The response message arrives back though the abstract synchronous interface and is mapped to the asyncronous response message. After that the process seems to hold where I am expecting it to continue on the process and be appended to a container storage list for mapping to a single return message.
    I have not set up any correlation sets as I thought they wouldn't be needed for a sychronous call.
    Has anyone got any advice on my approach to this process and how I might fix it.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Bhavesh,
    There are no errors as such in the SXMB_MONI but it gets as far as the Inbound Message (PE_ADAPTER) stage after the Sych BAPI call.
    Also the SOAP Header at this stage seems to be missing "sysnchronous" or "asynchronous" in the  SAP:ProcessingMode tags.
    The technical workflow is as follows
    FTP Batch file outbound to Integratin Process Receive (Async)
    Transform message into a Multiline list of BAPI_PO_CREATE1.request (async abstract)
    Enter "For Each" Block using the multiline list.
    BAPI_PO_CREATE1 mapped to synchronous abstract interface
    synchronous abstract interface mapped to BAPI_PO_CREATE.request and response
    BAPI_PO_CREATE.response mapped to async BAPI_PO_CREATE.response
    async BAPI_PO_CREATE.response appended to multiline list
    Exit block
    Transform multiline response list into single line response
    FTP inbound
    As far as I can make out I have not correctly configured the receiver of PO_CREATE1.response after it has been mapped from the sync to async so it just persists it and sits there waiting or it is waiting for somethign else to happen.
    Let me know if I can clarify anything further.
    Thanks
    Ben

    Have NEVER had a problem with synchronizing my calendar - now I get a message
    Unable to get an Outlook or MS Exchange record.  Lack of network access can cause this problem.  Retry and if problem persists refer to online topic How do I get technical support."

    Hmmm...strange indeed...OK, then the next thing I can think of is for you to perform a complete start over with DTM:
    I suggest the following steps (insert plenty of reboots of your PC...not just restarts, but full power down reboots). Also, it is advised that you be logged into the PC on an account with full admin rights. Further, under Vista/Win7, use the "Run As Administrator" option for everything.
    1) Remove your device OS update package from your PC (add/remove programs)
    2) Cleanly uninstall the RIM DTM software:
    KB02206 How to perform a clean uninstall of BlackBerry Desktop Software
    3) Get a fresh download of the RIM DTM software:
    https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=A8BAA56554F96369AB93E4F3BB068C22
    Choose the version that is newest and (if applicable) compatible with your PIM (if you are synchornizing via USB):
    KB12268 Applications supported by BlackBerry Desktop Manager for synchronization
    4) Download (to your PC) a fresh copy of your device OS package from your carrier:
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
    5) Install DTM to your PC
    6) Install (also to your PC), the device OS package
    7) Start the organizer configuration over:
    KB17022 How to configure organizer applications for synchronization using BlackBerry Desktop Manager
    Hopefully that will get things going again.
    Good luck and let us know!

  • Message monitoring of synchronous messages

    Guys,
    whenever I check a synchronous message in message monitoring, its audit log is correctly shown but the message (header and payload) are not shown, returning the message "The message was deleted to save memory" or something like that.
    Does anyone knows how to enable message monitoring to show the messages from sync messages?
    Thanks in advance,
    Henrique.

    Hi Henrique,
    From SP12, the payload of sync messages is cached in memory rather than persisted. These payloads are deleted to prevent them from accumulating in memory.
    You just have to set:
    messaging.syncMessageRemover.removeBody = false
    in the AF messaging service in the visual admin
    and you'll be able to trace sync calls
    you only need this for sync
    if you set this you'll see sync messages in,
    http://hostname:portnumber/MessagingSystem/monitor/monitor.jsp
    (so in the monitor for adapters)
    async are logged there by default so no need to change anything for async calls...

  • Synchronizing iMac & MacBook Pro causes faulty cursor

    After cloning my iMac and MacBook Pro back and forth a few times using SuperDuper in order to keep them synchronized, the cursors on both machines were intermittently non-functional upon startup.Of course one has a trackpad and one doesn't. I reinstalled OS10.6.1 from the Snow Leopard Disc purchased at the Apple store onto the iMac and reinstalled OS10.6.1 from the disc that came with the laptop onto the laptop, but the problem has persisted on both machines. Usually if I wait ten minutes the cursor will start working on its own, but sometimes it doesn't function until I restart the computer several times and wait each time to see if the cursor comes back on its own. Apple tech support suggested getting rid of all third party software, reinstall the OS and then add third party apps to see if one of them is causing the problem. What a headache! Any suggestions as how to fix the problem or suggestions as the best way to sycnh the 2 machines?

    the first suggestion would be to NEVER use superduper to clone drives back and forth between different model computers. this will inevitably lead to problems due to differences in hardware. I'm very surprised you can even boot the computers after that.
    if reinstalling the OS did not work make a new user account and log into it. do you have the same problems there?

  • Persistent TCP socket trouble

    Hello everybody!
    I'm writing a server/client chat app, mostly for fun but I actually have some use for it as well, when it works that is.
    The server part is pretty much complete, written in Python (since it's so easy and fast to write).
    Anyway, since my chat protocol is supposed to use as little bandwidth as possible, I'm aiming for persistant TCP connections. To make that possible, I've implemented an end of message-marker, so that it reads until it finds the marker, and that's the end of the transmission, instead of reading until the socket is closed and a new connection needs to be reestablished all the time.
    My problem is that I have no idea how to implement this in java! Not in python either to be honest, I used the code from here, although with a few slight modifications:
    http://aspn.activestate.com/ASPN/Cookbook/Python/Recipe/408859
    (the recv_end function)
    For those who don't understand python, it reads 8kB from the socket, checks in the end marker is in there. If not, it checks if the end market got split between multiple packets, and concatenates everything until the original string is restored.
    Now, I need to do this in java (J2ME/MIDP 2.0 to be exact, but if I get some code to work with I'm sure I can make it work).
    I've got this code in my app, that needs to be replaced:
         protected synchronized StringBuffer read ()
              StringBuffer sb = new StringBuffer();
              int i = 0;
              try
                   while (((i = input.read()) != -1))
                        sb.append((char)i);
              catch (Exception e){}
              finally
                   return sb;
         }I'd be glad to post more code or explain more throughly if needed.
    Other ideas might be welcome as well.
    Help would be very appreciated!

    I've solved it, well kinda anyway. :)
    Not the most effective solution, but since I doubt
    that transmissions >1kB will ever be sent/received
    using this program, it doesn't matter that much.
    This is what I did:
         protected StringBuffer read ()
              StringBuffer soFar = new StringBuffer();
    int r = 0;
              while (true)
                   try
                        r = input.read();
                   catch (Exception e)
                        System.out.println(e.toString());
                   if (r != 4)
                        soFar.append((char)r);
                   else
                        return soFar;
    Surely somewhere in that code you will also need
    r++;

  • Synchronous RFC Response Not getting Mapped

    Hi,
    I am making an RFC call from XI to SAP R/3 system.
    Scenario: File -> XI -> RFC (SAP R/3)
    The request message is picked from the File Adapter, routed through XI, and an RFC call is made on the SAP R/3. The RFC Response has to be obtained in XI, transformed and persisted using the FileAdapter.
    I have created the request and response message types and message interface in the repository. The message interface is denoted as Outbound Synchronous. The Request and Response mappings have also been made against the RFC message structure.
    I also created the business process in the repository showing the interface as Synchronous between the two actions.
    However, in the Integration Builder, when I import and configure the Business Process, the wizard does not show me the response message type or the response mappings.
    After completing the configuration, the final configuration is still one-way, and only shows the request scenario.
    I am unable to configure the response scenario in the Integration Builder.
    During runtime, the request does get invoked and the RFC gets called from XI. However, the response is lost.
    What do I need to configure to capture the RFC response into XI ?
    thanks,
    Manish

    I would guess that synchronous response is the collaboration agreement between business systems, and not related to the transports available between them.
    My scenario is as follows:
    BusinessSystem1 -> XI -> SAP R/3
    The inbound document is being sent by the FileAdapter where the SenderService is BusinessSystem1.
    I have also configured another file adapter as a receiver, and this has been configured as a channel for the BusinessSystem1.
    Even in this scenario, I am unable to configure the response in the Integration Directory.
    I am able to configure the response structures and mappings in the Integration Repository.
    Any help appreciated.
    thanks,
    Manish

  • SOAP synchronous receiver dynamic confiuration

    Hi.
    I have a problem with a synchronous receiver SOAP.
    I have a SOAP to SOAP synchronous flow, with some java modules, one java module before the SOAP receiver and one after.
    The flow look like this:
    SOAP sender -
    > SOAP request java module -
    > SOAP receiver -
    >SOAP respone module.
    The problem is that I set some dynamic configuration in the soap request java module but I can't retrieve them in the soap response module.... the soap receiver has erase them.
    Is there any way to keep dynamic configuration in a SOAP synchronous receiver??
    Thanks.
    Marty Johann

    Dude,
    the dynamic configurations refer to one message, in the sense they are stored in the message's header.
    But if you send that message and receive a response from it, that's a whole different message (they have different Message IDs), you see? It is not to be expected to find the same dynamic configurations in the response message, since it is a whole different message, with an independent header area.
    That being said, I do have some scenarios where the dynamic configurations are persisted in soap sync messages. Why is that? I have no clue...
    Regards,
    Henrique.
