Synchronous Communication from 3rd party XI server

Hi,
I have the following XI landscape where the receiver system is on 1 XI server, and the sender system is on the other XI server, where between the 2 XI servers, the communication protocol used is HTTP.
For synchronous communication between sender (SOAP client) and receiver system (SAP ABAP proxy), do I still have to prototype BPM in the sender's XI server to relay the SAP result via HTTP?
Any advise will be greatly appreciated.

I don't know what you mean by "prototype BPM", but I don't think you need a BPM in this scenario.
If I understand you correctly, the flow is as follows:
1. Sender SOAP client makes synchronous call to first XI server.
2. First XI server routes call to second XI server (probably using XI protocol) - still using synchronous messaging.
3. Second XI server routes call to receiving system (synchronous ABAP proxy).
4. Synchronous response propagates back the opposite way.
In this case, there is no need for a BPM.

We need to migrate from existing e-mail server (Axigen ) to GW12.
The main concern is how to do that as quickly as possible or step by step without disrupting mail traffic and users.
Here is the situation:
In local network there is mentioned Axigen mail server serving aprox 70 users at single location.
Our official domain is hosted outside by Hosting provider where their mail server forwards all mail to our DDNS address where is ported to local mail server. Forwarding is performed discrete on user base. Each [email protected] is forwarded to [email protected]. where local server taking over.
This setting is harder to maintain because it is necessary to maintain users and aliases on outside server manually. However, this setting has some advantages. First of all, forwarding is happened immediately. If for some reason , local server is unreachable, outside server will keep on trying for two more days.
Second advantage is that we can use anti spam and virus blocking at the providers side.
Both functionality we could'nt achieve with simple global forwarding of all mail to local server.

Outgoing mail is relayed by local server over our Internet Connection provider's SMPT host.
Local mail is delivered locally.
We maintain local DNS server too.
Most users are using POP service, while IMAP is used by few only. All users are using Thunderbird so far.
All users in the future should use full GW capabilities with regular GW client, mobile clients and so on.
GW12 server is installed and up already. It is tested locally and tested for remote sending. So, only remote receiving is not tested yet, so neither correct domain is set yet.
Present users authentication is performed by Axigen server and LDAP connection to eDir. STARTTLS is used between clients and server.
Our plan is simple to change local DNS record point to new GW server, to change NAT/routing point to new server and set correct domain for the GW server.
We expect that this will be transparent for users while they will continue to use Thunderbird (certificate mismatch will be issued by first connection and first mail sending. But we plan to warn users in advance together with instructions what to do. My phone will ring that morning many times, I am sure). Few IMAP accounts we can prepare in advance by move mail manually to local folders and back to GW server later.
Latest step should be migrate users from Thunderbird to GW client. This need to be perfomed manually at each user seat. Each Thunderbird client need to be switched to IMAP and then mail need to move to GW server.
Here is concern about old mail volume. Many users have their old mail archived in local folders by years. Some of them has quite huge amount of archived mails with heavy attachments. However old mail can be moved gradually later.
So, this is our plan. Does anybody has any suggestion, comment or wish to point some problem we didn't aware of?

most of this sounds good. With such heavy imap/pop usage, you MIGHT
want to consider installing a temporary dedicated gwia just for that
separate from the smtp handling gwia. But that might not be necessary at
all. 70 people isn't THAT much.

3rd party ssh server in SMF

3rd Party SSH Server:

I am using a 3rd party ssh application. I did add this to the startup through SMF and I got this error in my console.
I copied the ssh.xml and revised some lines from manifest(ssh.xml) and revised particularly the below entries

User can't see some OID entry from 3rd party ldap browser but OAM?

Hi Makson,
OAM's Identity Server binds to OID as a single user* (typically an OID admin, even orcladmin) and applies only those acl's that have been defined within OAM. So when you login to OAM as end-user X, the Identity Server (eg orcladmin) checks to see what rights within OAM have been defined for User X - but in this scenario any rights defined within OID are not applied to user X. By default, OAM end-users have no access to information in ldap (although the OAM Admins have full access by default).

I have researched this matter as much as I can but am still having problems.
Anyone familiar with sending emails from 3rd party email addresses via Windows Mail (Vista Home premium)?
I use Windows Mail for my sins and am fairly familar with it.
I have verified my email addresses with yahoo and activated the verification emails sent.
I still cannot send emails via the server mail.btinternet.com.
Anyone familiar with sending emails from 3rd party email addresses?
This ia the error message:
Server: 'mail.btinternet.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '250 8BITMIME', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): Yes, Server Error: 250, Error Number: 0x800CCC7D
In Windows Mail
Incoming server is pop3.tiscali.co.uk

My server requires authentication is selected.
Outgoing Mail server log on info.
Email User Name: mymainbt/[email protected]
Password : correct for above account
Remember Password: yes
Log on using secure password authentication: have tried with it on and off
Under advanced:
Outgoing server
Server address: 25
This server requires SSL: Yes.
As stated I have verified this account with BT Yahoo
I am able to set the same Windows Mail account to send via my gmail account easily.
Any suggestions please?

Hi. Welcome to the forums.
As mentioned, unset SSL when using port 25. You could try using port 587 (again without SSL set).
If you still get an error message when trying to send, can you post that ?

IPhone MobileMe Incoming & 3rd Party Outgoing Server Help!

Okay this is my first post and any help on this would be greatly appreciated. I have a MobileMe account and I setup my account on my iPhone and that works great. However since most people do not know my @me.com address I want to use a 3rd party outgoing server (hosted by GoDaddy.com) and the server needs to use port 80 and SSL off. I have not been able to get SSL turned off, I can set it to off but it instantly goes back to ON and I am unable to send e-mail using my outgoing mail server with SSL turned on. I have setup Mail on my MBP with using the incoming server as MobileMe and the outgoing server as my godaddy.com account (with SSL off and using port 80) and it works perfect. On my laptop I am able to send e-mails using my MobileMe account but instead of showing it coming from MobileMe it shows coming from my own domain. And all e-mails sent to my domain get forwarded to my MobileMe account and all of this works perfect on my laptop but I cannot get it working on my iPhone. Incoming e-mail on the iPhone is not a problem as I can receive everything since my domain is forwarding all e-mail to MobileMe. It's just sending e-mail I cannot get it to send using my outgoing server from godaddy. Thanks for your time in this matter.

I see what you're saying, but actually I was trying this with my iPhone connected via Wi-Fi to my home network (connected to Rogers). So although what you said makes sense, it doesn't apply to my case, I don't think. I have set it up to authenticate my user name on Rogers to permit outside access.
I still think it has to do with not being able to re-name my e-mail address to @Rogers.com, not @me.com. If this field could be edited, like on my iMac, then I'm pretty sure it would work. I don't know what the work-around is. If I try to add Rogers as a new account and have my mail sent from there, then my sent messages won't appear under my Me account on my iPhone, and it'll be a mess. I'd really like to keep everything inside one account.

Migration of Documents from 3rd party software to SAP DMS

Dear Experts,
We have implemented SAP DMS . Prior to DMS we were using Third party software for creating and storing the documents.
There are abot 3000 documents in the third party software, now the challege is how we must have to migrate the DATA from 3rd party software to SAP DMS with creating Dirs. Are there any upload programmes suffice the requirement or any development needs to be done or any possibilities.

Any links i open from 3rd party applications do not open in firefox.

To be more precise, when i click a link, Firefox does open however it does not visit the URL. It simply opens a new session. I have started Firefox in safe mode and the problem occurs, i have reset firefox to default preferences and the problem still persists. I can see no problems in the setting of Firefox itself and have already tried all the fixes available.
I am using Firefox 29.0.1 on Fedora 20 64x

As i stated, when i click links from 3rd party applications, such as skype; a youtube link or something similar. Firefox opens a new session however it does not visit the clicked url

Raising a notification from 3rd party software

We have a client looking at raising notifications within the asset management system of SAP via a sql/.net software application. The 3rd party software has a defect register which could be used to open the SAP notification. We would like to populate the fields automatically when the notification is opened.
Is there a current feature within SAP to raise single or multiple notifications via a 3rd party application?

Things are where they were.
Any Function Module(BAPI here) is the ABAP part. So the solution involves 3 parties. The BAPI suggested helps in creating a Notification by receiving parameters as Inputs. Where these parameters come from? These come from 3rd party software (you called so) through interface (XI here)
Flow is like this.
Interface (XI) - Receives parameters from your Browser (assumed you called it 3rd party) and translates into SAP field names and values.
ABAP - Receives these inputs, feeds to the BAPI the output of which is a Notification.
Note:
BAPI_ALM_NOTIF_CREATE is a Notification creation tool (Function module) in ABAP. This receives SAP field values as inputs and generates a Notification. It has got a wide range of applications in regular SAP developments.

Duplicate transactions in GL Journals when imported from 3rd party

Hi All,
Normally everyday we receive data from 3rd party system will imported to GL via GL interface tables. A scheduled program 'Journal import' is being scheduled every night which was in error status since last 4 days.
So we have deleted certain transactions from the GL interface tables using delete command and imported the good ones into GL. Now when we see the amount is doubled.
Any ideas. Have we done anything wrong?

Which process chain type used when scheduling from 3rd party

Do we use Local Process Chain or Meta Chain type used when triggering PC from 3rd Party scheduling tools like Redwood..

Hi Venkat,
Select "Start Using Meta Chain or API" for the start process when running a process chain from a third party scheduling software or when calling a process chain from within another process chain.
I also believe some third party scheduling software will also work if you set the start process to "Direct Scheduling" and set the start time to immediate but I would recommend just making it a Meta Chain for tracking purposes.
