Syncing Music from
I am having trouble syncing all of my music to my new iPhone 3G. Since the harddrive on my MacBook is small (60 GB), I keep some of my favorite music there and some of it is kept on an external HD. All of my music shows in my iTunes library and as long as the ext. HD is connected all of that music will play normally through iTunes. The problem is that some of the songs that I want on my iPhone are on the Mac HD and some are on the ext HD. Even when that HD is connected, the computer will only sync that music which is contained on the local Mac HD (and not even all of that). I have tried taking all of the music off of the iPhone and resyncing but only the same tracks were resynced. Does anyone know the reason for this? I use my Mac for work and school and do lots of video editing on it despite the small HD so putting more music on the local drive is not an option. Does anyone know how to work around this? Thanks!

IPhone 5s won't sync music from iTunes
I have an iPhone 5s that is less than a year old. For the past month now I have not been able to sync music from my computer onto the phone. I can transfer music and playlists and apps etc from my phone to iTunes on my computer but not vice versa. I have managed to sync the music to my iPad 1st Gen with no issues which is funny considering it's a much older device.
I can still download songs on my phone from the iTunes app perfectly fine it's just getting music from my computer to the iPhone which I'm having trouble with.
I decided to update both my itunes and iphone to the latest versions/iOS but neither has made a difference.I had to delete all my playlists on the phone. Then I synced it with my iTunes/music and it finally placed my new music back on my phone.

When I try syncing music from my library to my ipod, I get the message that it lost connection. My ipod is plugged in to the computer though. Does anyone know how to fix this?
How is your iPod configured to sync music? In other words, what options and configurations do you have enabled from under your iPod's Summary and Music tabs in iTunes?

I tried to sync music from iTunes to my iPhone and when I click on "on this phone" the songs are there, but they are greyed out and have a circle in front of them. I can not click on those songs, delete or anything and when I eject the phone they are not on the phone. I tried to re-add the songs and it says it can't add songs because they've already been added. So HOW can I get the songs to actually ADD to my phone to where I can listen to them? It's like they're stuck in Sync limbo or something! Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I am having the same problem. I have just tried this. Unplug iphone > open itunes > delete all music from itunes library > close itunes > re-open itunes > add music from original folder > plug in iphone > select songs > press sync > unplug iphone using eject button onscreen > checked phone .... still nothing in music folder on phone. On itunes the "On this iphone" tab the songs remain there but greyed out.

how can i sync music from my phone onto my new computer without losing it all? my old computer's hard drive crashed so it is unusable.
If you do not have a back up of the crashed hard drive you can download an app to copy from the iPhone to iTunes on the new hard drive.
I have used Pod2Mac. There is also Pod2PC.
There are numerous choices, some free, some payed. Do a Google search. -
since I had my computer upgraded to Windows 7 i had to reinstall itunes. my music library disappeared and my ipod classic no lnger synces music from itunes. what can I do?

I have the latest iTunes software on my iMac mini and now have IOS7 on my iPhone and now I cant sync music from my library either by wifi or by usb? I get song lists that scoll at a million miles an hour but no actual content. What should I do to get my music onto my iphone.
Here is what worked for me:
My usb hub, being usb2, was too fast. I moved the wire to a usb port directory on my pc. That is a usb1 port which is slow enough to run your snyc. -
Please help. I have no idea why this is happening and I'm kinda new to using iTunes. I'm trying to sync music from a playlist on my iTunes account onto my iPod Shuffle (older Shuffle). I use Windows XP on my laptop. When I try moving the songs to the iPod it says the iPod is synced to another library. I didn't know I had another library (but I guess it is possible because I used iTunes a few years ago too).
The only option I get is to delete the music already on the iPod and sync the iPod to "this" library. I really don't want to lose the music already on the iPod. PLEASE HELP. I'm tech challenged to say the least.See this post.

for the first time i want to sync music from the itunes on my desktop to my iPod touch 5th gen. it kept taking forever to back up! is backing up needed? all i wanna do is sync the music and the back up is taking way too long....

How do I sync music from iphone to itunes?
I lost all titles from itunes when I upgraded to the new itunes. Apple allowed me to download them again (thanks Apple). However, there is music on my phone from CDs uploaded prior to the loss of the titles. They exist on my phone but not in the pc. How do I sync music from the phone to the pc? I miss the drag/drop method!
KYou would have to use 3rd party programs. Try youtube, they would give you tutorials and the name of the program. There was one program I used but it deleted after I got all my music out my iphone.

Okay, you are using Windows 7. What version of iTunes do you have. Please don't tell me the most current one, go into Help then About iTunes and read what it says.

Rest everything is synced from pics to tones but only music doesnt sync.Most movies go over the 100 MB cellular download. Do it using computer iTunes then sync to you iPhone provided you have enough space.

I want to Sync music from my PowerBook 4 to my Ipod generation 7 but it says I need to update Itunes to 10.7 but when it finishes updating and i go back to itunes nothing has changed and Itunes is not updated.
In order to install iTunes 10.7 or later you need OSX 10.6.8 or later. A PowerBook can install up to OSX 10.5.8
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but any new iPod won't sync with iTunes on Mac not using an Intel processor. -

Yes, I do that each time, but it makes no difference. I've had an iPhone with music on for ages, and this issue only happened when I update to iTunes 11 earlier on in the year.
