Syndicator - Specifying delimiter for multiple-valued field
Hi,
How can (if we can, that is) we specify a delimiter to split a multi-valued source field into multiple fileds in MDM syndicator? I believe if we have <b>';'</b> as delimiter we can spilt a multi-valued field into multiple fields but what if I have <b>'/'</b> or some other character as a delimiter. Can I use that to split my multi-valued field? If yes then how?
Regards,
-Y
Hi Yasir,
I doubt whether we can anywhere specify the delimiter in syndicator from ';' to anyother as you mentioned, but otherwise the multi-valued field steps as follows...
1. right click on the field from the source grid
2. choose Split Multi-Valued Field > n
3. The Syndicator adds the split items to the Source Items grid
hope this might helps...
cheers

Delimiter for multiple display fields
Hi ,
Is there any way in MDM so we can change the delimiter for multiple display fields.
Suppose for a lookup table code and description both are display fields.In Data manager when we select main table as our current table ,value in that lookup field will appear as code,description ,but as per the requirement it should be hyphen separated i.e code- description.
Is there any way we can change the delimiter.
Thanks in Advance
Regards,
Neethu JoyHi Neethu,
No, there is no way to change the delimiter but I can suggest you some workaround.
Create one more field in same lookup table and mark it as display field. Create one assignment with the expression code&"-"&Description and put it in workflow having trigger action = Record Create and Record Update with Automatic launch action. With this, whenever you modify lookup data i.e. either code or description workflow will automatically update the third filed.
Just check if this fits in your requirement.

Field name and table name for the value field
hi,
i requred the value field for which the quantity that is not delivered in purchase order, so please tell me which field i have to go for the value field.
thanks and regards.Hi,
There is no direct field to get the PO Open qty(undelivered Qty).
Take the PO quantity for each Item from EKPO-MENGE.
For each PO Item there will be multiple GR(good's receipts) 's in MSEG table.
So pass EBELN and EBELP for MSEG table and Take all the GR Quantities(ERFMG) field and sum up .(have to take care of the Movement type also, becasue there will be some returns and GI's).
Substract the GR qty from PO qty you will get the UNDELIVERED QTY of A PO.

SQL Command code for multiple value string parameter
Hi,
I'm using crystal 2008 and there is a check box for multiple value SQL Command I need some help in writing the SQL Command code for oracle (or sql server) for a multiple value STRING parameter.
Thanks in advance,
MarilynI could be wrong here, but I do not believe you can pass a multiple valued parameter to an SQL Command data source. How I have gotten around this in the past is to put the "real" report into a subreport. In the main report, create a formula field (basic syntax):
formula = join({?parameter}, "|")
Then, use this to pass the selected values to the subreport's parameter (call it {?sr-parm}). The SQL Command in the subreport can then use that (MS SQL):
select *
from table
where charindex(table.field, '{?sr-parm}') > 0

Java delimiter for multiple white space
Hi
Is there a delimiter for multiple spaces? Or is there a simple way to check for more than one space and then replace them with a single white space or another delimiter?
Thanks

So StringTokenizer should not be used at all anymore?
Basically I am reading in a file which is separated by spaces, but some of the names have a space in it.
I can split most of it fine due to the numerical only value at the beginning and the bracket etc.

tennis (76) 59
19 dennis the mennis cricket (83) 678

It is not obvious to me what you are trying to do though if you are trying to split a line at points of more than one space then you just needString[] splitLine = line.split(" {2,}"); -
SetSelectedValue for multiple values in List Box
Hi,
I want to set the selectedValue for multiple values in the List Box. If i use setSelectedValue for all the values, it just highlights the last one.
Can anyone tell me how do i highlight multiple values in the List Box?
Scenario:
I have one screen where the List Box and "Go" button is placed. When i select multiple values in the list box and hit "Go" it should display what i have selected in the List Box.
Note: List Box is generated dynamically.
Thanks,
Naresh VsetSelectedValue as the name indicates will set one value and in your case since you are using it multiple times it would pick the last value.
When the user selects multiple values from the list box and clicks on Go you can capture those values in the controller for processing. What are you trying to achieve by resetting all the selected values on the same listbox ? -
How to search for multiple values with Bex Prompts
Hi,
I would like to know if it is possible to search for multiple values at the same time with Bex Prompts instead of searching one value at a time (please see the screen shot below). I searched the forum couldn't find any relevant answers. please let me know how to achieve?
Thanks,
Charvi.Hi Charvi,
You can use wild card search to ensure you get multiple similar values listed as search output.use * for multiple characters and ? for single character.
For Example, Ravi * would result you all employees with first name as Ravi
You can use various search formats such as * Ravi * and * Ravi and Ra?? etc.
Thanks

Dynamic where clause for MULTIPLE values
In the following of dynamic where clause?
i have some somewhat different problem.
Is a dynamic where clause for multiple values possible?
If the inputvariable varCode1,varCode2,varCode3,varCode4 are 0 then show all id's otherwise filter the resultset on var1 and/or var2,and/or var3,and/or var4.
Example table:
create table t
(d int,var int);
insert into t values (1 ,1 );
insert into t values (2 ,1 );
insert into t values (3 ,2 );
insert into t values (4 ,3 );
insert into t values (5 ,4 );
insert into t values (6 ,4 );
insert into t values (7 ,4 );
insert into t values (8 ,4 );
insert into t values (9 ,5 );
insert into t values (10, 6);
insert into t values (11, 6);
So what i want to change the where clause upon the value of the varCodes. If var1 and var are not 0 a "AND" should be used otherwise an "OR"
select id
from tst
where var = DECODE( :varCode1, 0, var, :varCode1)
or/and(?) DECODE( :varCode2, 0, var, :varCode2)
or DECODE( :varCode3, 0, var, :varCode3)
or DECODE( :varCode4, 0, var, :varCode4)Please turn off your Caps Lock

Copa there is a option for reset value field / quantity value filed
Hi
As per the sap standard in copa there is a option for reset value field / quantity value filed. We
use this function to reset a quantity or value field depending on the
billing type (For eg L2 (Debit Memo) G2(Credit Memo). This means that
the condition value set in the field is replaced by value 0. Due to
this quantity value filed in copa reflects nil. My client requirement is when profit center document is generated System should display the quantity as nil.
i have tried some enhancement but these enhancement is only used in case of PGI . But in the case of debit and credit memo their is no PGI. first we create debit not request (va01) then billing(vf01) then document is generated .
Can we do the same thing in profit center Accounting? When PCA document
is generated System should display the quantity as nil.
Please let me know some user exit or substitution or Bte we can use ?
Anjalihi Jerry,
Very appreciated the link you sent. In this article of this link, it gives an example of a conversion from an external to an internal format:
1. '1234 ' -> '00001234'
2. 'ABCD ' -> 'ABCD '
Just wonder why the external format '1234 ' has to be converted to '00001234', what's the purpose of doing this converstion?

Multiple records to be created for multiple values in a field
I am having a requirement in which i will have multiple values for a field.The values are seperated by commas.I need a record to be created for each value.(eg: if there are 4 values i need 4 records to be created). Any one please help me out.
Hi !
You can try solve it at File Content Conversion level, by specifing your value separator as the endSeparator.
Or you can import all values as a unique record and then solve it via graphical mapping, using an advanced UDF, where you receive N records, then inside the UDF, you split the values via its separator and create new array values (one for each input value after splitting) and output that array to be used to fill destination structure.

Creating process for multiple Date fields for update or insert in APEX
hello there,
could someone please help me?
i have a form on Apex based on view that is based on three tables and updating and inserting ok using trigger instead of.
i have a problem now as in my form i have around 75 fileds (items) incuding 30 or more date fields which could be populated or left blank or update later.
so for each date field i have two boxs; one for date, input as dd/mm/yyyy (text field) and second for time, input as 23:45. All dates will be insert or update manually by user. so as i mentioned not all date fields could be poulated at one stage.
so i have created some process and validations and all of them work fine but i came accross if date left blank then (:) giving me problem so i have done following further process for each date field. In real table all the date fields have data type date.
declare
v_my_var date; -- for first date field
str_dy VARCHAR2(10);
dt_indx date;
str_tm VARCHAR2(20);
tm_indx date;
begin
str_dy := :p4_first_date
str_tm := str_dy||' '||substr(:p8_first_date_hh,1,2)||':'||substr(:p8_first_date_HH,4,2);
dt_indx := to_date(str_tm,'DD/MM/YYYY HH24:MI');
IF str_dy is not null then
v_my_var :=dt_indx;
ELSE
v_my_var := NULL;
END IF;
update table 1 set my_date = v_my_var where d_id= :p4_d_id;
end;
above code work fine but one date field of course therefore i have to do same code for each date field with changes and initialise variable again and again for each field.
so i like to ask is there any easy way that is more professional. i was thinking about the procedure and using collection or similar but honestly not much experience on that so could some one please help me?
I will be very thankful.
KRgdsHi,
You can do the needful by re-using the code if you can give the item names as P8_DATE1, P8_DATE_hh1, P8_DATE2, P8_DATEhh2 etc..So your item name just differs by a sequence.
Now you write function which will return desired date value taking above items as input. Pass item names to this function, get session state using APEX_UTIL.GET_SESSION_STATE('item_name') API.
Now modify you code as
FOR i IN 1..30
LOOP
v_date_array[i] = f_get_date('P8_DATE'||i, 'P8_DATEhh'||i);
END LOOP;
....Now you have all date valus in array. Just write one update as follows
UPDATE TABLE1
SET date1 = my_date_array[1], date2 = my_date_array[2]..
WHERE ....Hope it helps :)

Javascript for multiple date fields
Hi all-
I have to write javascript for 15 different date fields in a form.
The requirement here is that we convert all date fields on Page 100 from date pickers (editable date fields) to display-only date fields with two controls for the users to set the date.
If the field is empty (no date registered yet), there will be a green checkmark(X). When the user clicks this checkmark, the current date is entered into the field.
If the field is not empty (there is a date already in the system), there will be a red X. When the user click this red X, the date from the date field is removed.
The javascript I am using here is
</script>
<script type="text/javascript">
function init(){
var datePickerVal = $v2('P100_TODAYS_DATE');
if(datePickerVal){
$x_Show('ToggleDateR');
$x_Hide('ToggleDateG');
}else{
$x_Hide('ToggleDateR');
$x_Show('ToggleDateG');
function toggleDateFunc(pValue){
var sysDate = $v2('P100_DATE');
if(pValue == 'R'){
$x_Hide('ToggleDateR');
$x_Show('ToggleDateG');
$x_Value('P100_TODAYS_DATE','');
}else if(pValue == 'G'){
$x_Show('ToggleDateR');
$x_Hide('ToggleDateG');
$x_Value('P100_TODAYS_DATE',sysDate);
window.onload = init;
</script>
This javascript is working for one date field( 'P100_TODAYS_DATE') but i have 15 different date fields in this page(100) all should have same funtionality. Please help me out how to write a logic to use this function for all the date fields.
Thanks,(apex 3.2)

Reg Query For Multiple Text Fields
Hi all
I am New to this forum..
I am developing an application for generating reports.
In my application i have multiple text fields.
The user might enter any of the textfields or even enter all the fields.
In those cases how to use the query when some fields are empty??Welcome to the forum.
It always helps to post a small, simplified example of what it is you're trying to achieve.
(When posting examples, put the {noformat}{noformat} tag before and after the example, so it will get posted formatted on this forum.)
In those cases how to use the query when some fields are empty??If your textfields serve as parameters/bind variables for you query, then you could use NVL.
Something like:select ...
from some_table
where col1 = nvl(p_col1, col1)
and col2 = nvl(p_col2, col2)
And how about wildcards (the '%' or '_' sign), by the way? Are they allowed as well?

Problem with ALV filter functionality when filtered for multiple values
Hi,
I am facing a problem with ALV filter functionality.
I have displayed an ALV with some columns col_A, col_B and col_C
col_A---- col_B -
col_C
1----
a -
abc
2----
b -
pqr
3----
c -
lmn
4----
d -
xyz
5----
f -

From the settings link I am applying filter on column col_C and selected multiple values say 'pqr', 'xyz' and 'lmn'.
Now the ALV is showing rows only for last selection i.e . results are fetched only for value 'lmn'.
i.e. after applying the filter the ALV table looks as below:
col_A---- col_B -
col_C
3----
c -
lmn
But ideally it should be:
col_A---- col_B -
col_C
2----
b -
pqr
3----
