System Restore Issue

Hey.
I just got my macbook pro 13inch 2011 serviced due to hard disk failure, which has already happen twice within a month. The thing is i cant seem to restore the preferred data from my time machine. When i try doing so, it does restore but not the latest one but to one of my very first backups Which is preety pointless cause theres preety much nothing yet. However the HD space used is as much, but data cant be found. Could it be due to fileVault? I tried turning of fileVault, but everytime i try it would pop up an error message half way through. Why is that so. Would really appreciate it if anyone out there could help me out with this. Cause theres alot of important data in there and i need for my work urgently. Thanks.

Why did you try factory resetting the laptop, any particular reason?

Hope you've backed up all your important data.
Do you have a Windows 7 installation disc of same version Windows pre installed in your laptop? If so you could clean install from it too.

System Restore issues

My iphone 3GS was running perfectly well this morning. Earlier this afternoon it came up with " Restore Needed, Iphone cannot make or Recieve calls. Restore from Itunes. www.apple.com/support"
I connected it to my laptop and ran Itunes, however Itunes keeps coming up with a connection error saying that it cannot connect to my phone as it is password protected. Unfortunately my phone wont bring up the password screen for me to enter the code and perform a system restore. It just shows the error message and will only allow emergency calls.
Is their anyway i can override this function? Or possibly do a forced reset on the phone itself?

That seems to have overriden the password issue and allowed me to start re-storing. Out of curiosity how long should the restore take? My phones been restoring for about 1hr 20 mins so far and the progress bar ( currently 99/100ths complete) hasnt moved for atleast 45 mins. Is this normal? Itunes is showing the swirling bar with "Restoring Iphone Firmware" above it but i'm getting a little itchy as to whether its stuck
UPDATE!! "Iphone could not be restored. An unknown Error has occurred (1002)" Any clues?
My screen has now gone back to how it was before

A505 System Restore Issues

I was trying to do a system restore and each time I got a message "system restore could not be completed". I tried to use different restore points but kept getting the same error message. Has anyone else had this problem and if so, could you please tell me how to correct it. Thank you.

Sounds like the restore points have become corrupted. Try running a chkdsk/r from a command prompt.
Also try running sfc /scannow at an elevated command prompt.

Problem system restoring my hp laptop

i wanted to system restore my laptop and i didnt back up my files, now its saying that the syetem restored failed. i keep retrying and nothing works. i put the laptop in safe mode then sytem restored it and still nothing. keeps saying restore failed. please help.

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read your thread on your HP Notebook and errors when try to do a system restore. When performing a hard reset please note remove any and all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices as these could cause system restore to fail.
If that does not help try to turn on the computer you start to press F11 repeatedly till the menu opens.You can do a system restore. System restore will help if something automatically updated and did not go well on the Notebook.

Each of these documents have what to do when system restore fails.

Issues with Creative Cloud/Flash Professional? (Performed system restore, Flash was removed...)

I had done a system restore to restore my computer the way it was 24 hours ago to fix some PC issues (couldn't uninstall some programs that I was going to reinstall to fix performance issues); I have three other Adobe programs of my computer that are still there, but where Flash was my most recent acquisition, it was removed when I performed the system restore. When I tried to re-download the program, CC still thinks Flash is still on my computer; I have uninstalled and reinstalled CC, gone through the program files for traces of Flash (didn't delete or alter anything, but also didn't find anything pertaining to Flash), deleted the Temp folder, attempted to download Flash Professional CC directly from the CC website, but none of these made any changes. Is there any way to manually download Flash, or "reset" CC to get it to notice Flash isn't on my computer anymore?

It still didn't help - it removed CC from my computer, and I reinstalled it, but I've already tried that. It still says Flash Professional CC is still there (I installed Flash CS6, too, as a substitute in the meantime, but I still need Flash CC). Flash Professional CC isn't on my computer anymore - it was deleted in a system restore, but CC says it's still there, so I can't reinstall it. Is there a direct download I can use?

Problem exists on my HP C0mpaq 6720s , Vista operating system.
System restore, restored to version 3.6.3 instead of 3.6.10 . This did not start either. Previously, I used Revo Uninstaller Pro to remove all Mozilla items, checked regedit and removed all Mozilla folders, then reinstalled 3.6.11 from your website. Mozilla would not start and XUL error stated 1.9.2.10 followed by min 1.9.2.11 and max 1.9.2.11 . This was the same error report that appeared after the automatic update.
So I am at a loss and without Mozilla .

I have successfully resolved this issue on my PC by allowing updater.exe through the firewall. This updater.exe is located in the folder where your Mozilla Firefox was installed. The default folder is "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\updater.exe"

When in recovery mode you can't backup the iPod.
You will have to restore via iTunes. See:

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

License issue after System Restore

We are facing an issue while doing a system restore on Windows 2003 / MS SQL 2005 / SAP 4.7D EXT 110. We followed the System copy option using SAPInst to do our system restore. When SAPinst prompted for DB import we stopped the SAPINST Tool and started our DB restore using our backup tool. Once the DB restore was successfully done , we restarted SAPINST and tried to continue with the import. However in the POST DB load step it is giving us an error as below;
ERROR
MOS-01012 PROBLEM: 'C:\usr\sap\SID\SYS\exe\run/saplicense -R3Setup SID "S782KZCP" TRACE=2' returned with '-2' which is not a defined as a success code.
Creating file C:\Program Files\sapinst_instdir\R3E47X2\COPY\IMPORT\SYSTEM\ABAP\MSS\NUC\DB\saplicense.log.
Switched to user: sidadm.
Working directory changed to C:\Program Files\sapinst_instdir\R3E47X2\COPY\IMPORT\SYSTEM\ABAP\MSS\NUC\DB.
See 'C:\usr\sap\SID\SYS\exe\run/saplicense -R3Setup SID "6FJD2I4C" TRACE=2' output in 'C:\Program Files\sapinst_instdir\R3E47X2\COPY\IMPORT\SYSTEM\ABAP\MSS\NUC\DB\saplicense.log'.

We upgraded the kernel to the latest version and have implemented the environment variables [ MSSQL_SCHEMA ; MSSQL_DBNAME; DIR_LIBRARY ; SAPLOCALHOST ; DBMS_TYPE etc ] . However that has not helped.
The id that we have used for the installation is not the sidadm id but an administrator id.
The saplicense.log simply reads as below;

When we do a sapilcense -show using the administrator id it gives us the below results;

SQL-ERROR 0 (check DB manual for explanation)

Then we ran a R3trans -d using the sidadm id and we got the below output;
This is R3trans version 6.13 (release 640 - 17.09.12 - 20:12:05 ).

Firstly Thank you for taking an interest in my issue.
@ Deepak - The SAP kernel is already at the highest level available i.e 640 Patch 414. I have also sseparately upgraded the dbsl , R3trans and tp executables.
Gentlemen , I am unable to find any option as ' SAP tools for MS SQL ' in SMP. Also the SAPINST that I am using does not have an option ' database copy completion'.
Please Note this SAPINST was downloaded from the Archive section of SMP as 640 Inst master is no longer generally available.
My system is ABAP only and Non Unicode.
Request your guidance on how to execute / download this particular tool or option for my system release.

Firefox slow wireless but fast wired. No issues running IE wireless. Tried system restore, fact. reset, turned off accl, disabled addons, run in safe mode.....

So i have an HP e118dx running on windows 8.1 with very little software on it. Currently running FF 37.0.1 and in wireless mode it always hangs up, runs slow, or times out. When plugged in it runs just fine. Can get on net using IE via wireless and no issues. So it seems to be something specific to FF on the wireless side. Thought it might have been my wireless card but running IE just fine seems to rule that out.
Have already tried system restore a few times, factory reset, turn off hardware accel., run in safe mode(FF), disabled add ons and nothing seems to help. If i have tabs open while wired, then go wireless and refresh the pages or browse on the already open pages i tend to get a couple minutes of trouble free experience before it slows to a halt again.
To recap....FF on wireless=slow and wired=fast. No difference when using IE wireless---always fast.

Not sure what you mean by # of connections being made. Not sure if that means tabs open, or folks using the actual wireless network. A while back when i was going through this with the isp i got a crash coarse on how to go into the modem and check a bunch of different stuff, as well as reset things. When looking in there only 1 or 2 computers showed on the network. The network is password protected......i guess protected only to the extent that a pswrd can. Not certain if someone nefariously connected somehow.....didn't show up when looking for users on the network though.
The first bullet point......Not sure how to do any of that so i'd say no.
Second bullet point......Yes, did lots of clearing temp files, caches, history, etc. along with systems restores and factory resets. although not exactly sure what you mean by dns cache. Might have done this but don't recall specifically seeing that.
Third bullet point.....It doesn't make any difference on this end whether its on no proxy, auto proxy, manual proxy. While i have no idea what all this stuff does/affects performance i played with it on all different settings and nothing changed here. Put it back to no proxy.
The thing is even when my wireless FF is acting up other devices in the home can be on the wireless with no issues. Think the other devices are using Chrome and some phone wifi hookup. Keep in mind if i switch to IE on the same device with FF windows open the IE will run just fine. At any given time there should only be 1-4 devices on the network so i'm guessing that shouldn't overload anything. Besides none of the other devices ever seem to come into this issue.
There always seems to be some issue that pops up after updates. Can't ever just leave working things alone.

So here are them:
1. Check if you have any software which may prevent the installer from running. For example, Windows Defender or any other software which may restrict your permissions.
2. Just start the computer.
3. Run the setup as admin.
4. Check your UAC permissions.

Major issues after system restore

Okay, so it started when I installed a VPN utility to connect to my company's file servers. After that Windows wouldn't fully boot after restarting (only got to blank screen with mouse). So I did the logical thing and did a system restore. At first I thought
so far so good since I was able to log back on and everything seemed normal. That is until I tried clicking on start and nothing happened. Tried restarting, still the same. Cortana also didn't working. Same with Action Center. Even Modern apps won't load.
Only thing that's working is the desktop itself, desktop & legacy apps, and Settings. Essentially I surmise everything that is Modern/Metro is failing to load properly (or at all). Explorer itself appears to be working fine, although I have to admit that
I don't have much knowledge about system processes for the Modern/Metro side. If there's no way to fix it, I'll probably go ahead and reinstall Windows and start from scratch since it's my secondary system that I haven't been using much anyway. But if anyone
knows of a fix that would save me from having to re-setup everything please let me know. Running build 9926.

Under this situation, you can try to use DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
command to fix system store componments for test.
If the command works failed, you can check cbs.log (C:\Windows\Logs\CBS)where the problem it is. Then, make system repair with your system.

Quicktime issues after system restore

After system restore we had to reinstall games which required quicktime. after which I reinstalled itunes, but it wouldn't install without completely uninstalling everything for quicktime. reinstalled updated quicktime and itunes, but now games aren't working. Uninstalled games and reinstalled it, but still getting macromedia projector error message. Suggestion is to reinstall quicktime. I feel like I am going in circles. Appreciate any suggestions

H8-1040 Video Driver Crashing, System Restore then no longer boots properly

I previously had some issues with my graphics card driver crashing. After moving, I took the card out and cleaned out all the dust. The issue somehow got worse. (As you would imagine, the issue never presented itself in Safe Mode). Regardless, I decided to do a system restore. After completing the system recovery, the computer never went to the OS setup screen. In fact, it simply shows a blank screen now when it boots. There are no error beeps and the system diagnostic checks out. I'm not entirely sure what to do. I've tried booting in safe mode, but the computer says it can not complete the installation in safe mode.
So has my card died?

If this card had to be replaced, anyone have any suggestions?

Manufacturers will tweak their cards differently. This EVGA 660 is rated for a 450 watt power supply. The 460 watt PSU in your PC has sufficient amperage on the two 12v rails.
