Sytemd: cannot hibernate as user, suspend works

Question

When issuing
systemctl hibernate
I get
Failed to issue method call: Operation not supported
Failed to issue method call: Access denied
I took a look around and stumpled upon this (which suggest a systemd downgrade), this (which is a lightdm issue) and this (needed polkit configure flags that are now in the repo by default).
My problem at this point is, that I can do everything except hibernate (as a normal user) and everything works as root. I get the following entries when trying to issue hibernate as a normal user:

If it is relevant, I am also in the power group.
Nothing I could find so far seems to be related to my problem. Please tell me which additional details I could provide or how this may be fixed. Note that this is a completely fresh installation, so everything is brand new (though I may still have messed up something during setup).

Javex, are you using a swap partition? What's your /etc/fstab swap line?
Yeah how dumb of me. I use a swapfile:
/home/swapfile none swap defaults 0 0
So I would think this is clearly realted to the swapfile, which I definitely want to keep (I have 8GB RAM, I never swap, only hibernate, so I don't want to make a dedicated partition). So is it possible that I have encountered a rare combination where there is a bug or misconfiguration?
@WonderWoofy: I just added my self to the group to make sure that was not the problem. These groups don't hurt, do they?
