TA48312 apple software up date.msi ver 2.1.1.116

apple software up date.msi  for uninstall ver 2.1.1.116

iOS 3.1 is a purchased upgrade. Go to http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2052 for more information.
Note that after buying that upgrade, future updates (as opposed to upgrades) are available depending upon which generation (gen) of iPod you have.
The 1st gen Touch can go only to iOS 3.1.3
2nd gen to iOS 4.2.1
3 & 4th gen can use iOS 5.
You can check which model you have on http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1353
... and before anyone asks, iOS 6 is not yet available (on 12th June 2012) for general use on any iPod. It's only available to developers at this time.

    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

What kind of gobbledegook is that?  Are you or Microsoft crazy.  Us computer users need simpler instructions.  Or you need to write your programs so that they work.

  • The file 'C:\Users\netrgm\AppData\Local\Apple\Apple Software Update\iTunes64.msi' is not a valid installation package

I am currently at iTunes version 10.5.1.42. It is telling me there is an update. It downloads and trys to install version 10.5.2 but i keep getting this error message:
The file 'C:\Users\netrgm\AppData\Local\Apple\Apple Software Update\iTunes64.msi' is not a valid installation package for the product iTunes.
Try to find the installation package 'iTunes64.msi' in a folder from which you can install iTunes.
The file is in the directory that is looking in, but it doesnt seem to think it is valid. I have tried several times over the last week or 2.

    Try the following steps:
    1. Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:
    http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over.
    2. You should remove all instances of iTunes and the rest of the components listed below:
it may be necessary to remove all traces of iTunes, QuickTime, and related software components from your computer before reinstalling iTunes.
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order:
    iTunes
    QuickTime
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Follow the instructions from Apple article listed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 to remove all components
    3. Reboot your computer. Next, download iTunes from here:http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and install from scratch

  • Apple software up-dates

I have an iMac running under Leopard. Normally I have no problems in downloading and installing software up-dates. However the latest security up-date downloads OK but will not install. My computer gets as far as "Configuring Installation" and then just 'hangs' ie nothing happens! I have to switch off at the mains switch and re-start. Does anybody have any suggestions as to the problem.

Thanks for the advice. I switched of overnight. In the morning I switched on and tried to download again but my computer went straight to the message that the download had taken place and that the computer must be re-started. I therefor re-started and got the same screen as previously. The "ribbon" that shows how much has been installed went for about 1/4 inch and then no further. After two hours there was no further progress. In order to use the machine I had to switch off at the mains and switch on again.
I am at a loss to know where I go from here in order to install this Apple security up-date!

.The feature you trying use is on a network resource that is unavailable.
Click OK to try again,or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package i Tunes.msi' in the box below
and i cant find anything please help

This forum is for questions about Apple Remote Desktop, Apple's software for managing networked Mac systems, and hence not the best place for your question. I'd suggest asking in the iTunes for Windows forum. You'll need to include more details, including the version of Windows you have, before anyone can do more than guess as to the problem.
    Regards.

How to Perform an Archive and Install
An Archive and Install will NOT erase your hard drive, but you must have sufficient free space for a second OS X installation which could be from 3-9 GBs depending upon the version of OS X and selected installation options. The free space requirement is over and above normal free space requirements which should be at least 6-10 GBs. Read all the linked references carefully before proceeding.
    1. Be sure to use Disk Utility first to repair the disk before performing the Archive and Install.
Repairing the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger, Leopard or Snow Leopard.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
    2. Do not proceed with an Archive and Install if DU reports errors it cannot fix. In that case use Disk Warrior and/or TechTool Pro to repair the hard drive. If neither can repair the drive, then you will have to erase the drive and reinstall from scratch.
    3. Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When you reach the screen to select a destination drive click once on the destination drive then click on the Option button. Select the Archive and Install option. You have an option to preserve users and network preferences. Only select this option if you are sure you have no corrupted files in your user accounts. Otherwise leave this option unchecked. Click on the OK button and continue with the OS X Installation.
    4. Upon completion of the Archive and Install you will have a Previous System Folder in the root directory. You should retain the PSF until you are sure you do not need to manually transfer any items from the PSF to your newly installed system.
    5. After moving any items you want to keep from the PSF you should delete it. You can back it up if you prefer, but you must delete it from the hard drive.
    6. You can now download a Combo Updater directly from Apple's download site to update your new system to the desired version as well as install any security or other updates. You can also do this using Software Update.

  • I would like to sync my ipod touch with my iMac but I'm afraid of losing data how can i do this without buying non apple software

i have recently changed from windows to apple, i have my whole record collection on an ipod touch, i have successfuly transfered my music data from my old computer but i am affraid to sync the ipod touch incase something goes missing also for some reason i have numerous duplicates and dont want to have them on my touch i have seen that there is software on the market to help with this problem but i am reluctant to use non apple software on my new computer can anyone help.

Tough spot if you want Apple only SW, no idea where you can get where you want without some decent 3rd party SW, which as a rule outshines Apple's SW by light years.

  • Apple Software Update says I'm up-to-date but I'm not.

Over the summer I downloaded a beta of an iTunes program for Mac. Eventually that program expired so I needed to download the real iTunes. I did, and it was fine up until about a week ago. I was told that I needed to update my iTunes. I said, yes, Download the new iTunes but Apple Software Update says i'm up to date! I think it's because I don't have my original iTunes anymore? How can I make it so that it recogznies my application again? Also, my screensaver for iTunes Album Art claims it can't find my library now? What should I do?

"Download the new iTunes but Apple Software Update says i'm up to date!"
    And?
You downloaded the newest iTunes so you are up to date.

  • I want to stylise a finder window on a CD-ROM... that is, when a CD data disc I've created is inserted into the Mac and double-clicked, the finder window has the layout and background I've chosen. Is there any Apple software which will do this?

I've created a CD-ROM which essentially has a website on it.
I've added an autorun for PC users (assuming those guys still exist) which launches "index.html". So no worries there.
For Mac users, as autolaunch isn't an option (correct me if I'm wrong?), I want to control the look and layout of the Finder window which opens when the disc is inserted and the CD icon is double-clicked. What's the best Apple software to use to do this?
    Thanks in advance.

    Nice to hear your story.
