Tabbed Panel - Make First Panel content not a tab?
I apologise for this but I am repeating a post that I have put in the Dreamweaver Dynamic Forum. I didn't think about this board then but realise a couple of other Spry questions don't attract much attention there. In future I'll come here but for now I hope the duplicate post doesn't upset anyone.
I am having a go witha tabbed panel which is what the screenshot is showing. This is experimenting so I haven't had the courage to upload it yet.
I would like the default panel to not contain anything except perhaps, the instruction to click and a colour background logo image. When the user clicks a panel I want the logo image to be pale and greyscale and the course deatails to present.
My question is how do I start the tabbed panel with a pane that isn't one of the tabs? I can see a way around it by making the first tab "Instructions" but I don't think it will look so good.
Thanks
Martin
Gosh, you made that look easy!
I'm not at my desk to implement it but your post has the air of confidence that I envy! I was expecting to have to put on some latex gloves, a mask and gown and tinker with the code...
Many thanks.

Hi there,
<?php foreach ($results as $result): ?>
<div id="CollapsiblePanel1" class="CollapsiblePanel">
<div class="CollapsiblePanelTab">
<?php echo htmlspecialchars($result['name'], ENT_QUOTES, 'UTF-8'); ?>
</div>
<div class="CollapsiblePanelContent">
<?php echo htmlspecialchars($result['description'], ENT_QUOTES, 'UTF-8'); ?>
</div>
</div>
<?php endforeach; ?>
<script type="text/javascript">
var CollapsiblePanel1 = new Spry.Widget.CollapsiblePanel("CollapsiblePanel1");
</script>
Above is the segment where I want to generate a list of results using PHP/SQL. I know for sure that there isn't anything wrong with the PHP, there's something about the collapsible panels that I can't get my head around...
WHAT I WANT IT TO DO:
Display the result of my query, each in a collapsible panel with the Name in the panel's tab and the additional Description on the panel's content area. Do this for all results.
WHAT IT DOES:
The above, except that only the first collapsible panel works (collapses fine). The results following are still in collapsible panels with the exception that they don't collapse at all.
So can anyone come up with a good solution to fix this? Something quick will do (that I don't have to make drastic changes to my code), I suspect that it has something to do with this line:
var CollapsiblePanel1 = new Spry.Widget.CollapsiblePanel("CollapsiblePanel1");
That it recognizes the first panel as CollapsiblePanel1, the other panels are just unknown... I don't know, that's all I can come up with. Thanks for your time.Thanks for the tip Gramps, got to the solution!
<?php foreach ($results as $result): ?>
<div id="CollapsiblePanel<?php echo htmlspecialchars($result['id'], ENT_QUOTES, 'UTF-8'); ?>" " class="CollapsiblePanel">
<div class="CollapsiblePanelTab">
<?php echo htmlspecialchars($result['name'], ENT_QUOTES, 'UTF-8'); ?>
</div>
<div class="CollapsiblePanelContent">
<?php echo htmlspecialchars($result['description'], ENT_QUOTES, 'UTF-8'); ?>
</div>
</div>
<script type="text/javascript">
var CollapsiblePanel<?php echo htmlspecialchars($result['id'], ENT_QUOTES, 'UTF-8'); ?> = new Spry.Widget.CollapsiblePanel("CollapsiblePanel<?php echo htmlspecialchars($result['id'], ENT_QUOTES, 'UTF-8'); ?>");
</script>
<?php endforeach; ?>
By allowing the script to loop and matching the id. Nice suggestion for the accordion but unfortunately the code above was just an example... the actual results will include tables, <hr> and whatnot.
Being new to the Dreamweaver scene (actually to be honest, I've only started learning about web development a week ago) why are the Spry js (or just Spry in particular) files so large? Are there plugins/methods I can get to delete some features I don't need? I have absolutely no experience with JS... yet. -
Spry panel - the first panel opens by default on entering the site
The first panel is open on default, I can close it, and access the others, but whenever i go there for the first time, its open. I want vistors to see the front page with all three panels closed. http://www.diocesanministriesfund.org
Also, not a big deal, but when you close one of the panels and return to the index page, it seems like the whole page gets stuck for a second and then renders.
Any help is appreciated, as always, MaryHi Mary
In this line near the bottom of your document you have
var SpryAccordion1 = new Spry.Widget.Accordion("SpryAccordion1", {useFixedPanelHeights:false, defaultPanel:0});
This is where you have told the accordion to open the first panel. If you want all panel closed then make the default panel a non-existing panel as in
var SpryAccordion1 = new Spry.Widget.Accordion("SpryAccordion1", {useFixedPanelHeights:false, defaultPanel:-1});

When launching and opening tabs from links in outlook express not all tabs appear
Since upgrading to Firefox 21 when I click on links in emails in Outlook Express not all the links open new tabs, but when I attempt to close Firefox it says there are more tabs open than are being displayed. Firefox also becomes sluggish to non-responsive during these "evolutions". If I open Firefox first before clicking links in emails it does not display this behavior.
The DDE fix does not appear to address the same problem I'm having. I receive no error windows or indications of any kind, the tabs just never appear, yet when I close firefox it will ask me if I want to close all "X" tabs ( and X appears to equal the number of tabs I tried to open).

DanielLiangThe number of tabs that you can show at once is limited by the size of the canvas. If you have too many tabs, then you can set up one tab to be a 'MORE'. When the user clicks on it, it hides the current set of tabs and displays the set of tabs that were not shown. By having a MORE for each set of tabs, you can toggle between the sets of tabs. The Help documentation describes how to show and hide tabs, and how to set focus to a particular tab.

Having trouble with dreamweaver cs 6 spry tabbed panels, all content in each tab showes through like it was all created on one page, plus mouse over doesnt work on them.
This started all of a sudden.
The entire website is a series of spry tabbed panels.
http://pacificlaser.com/const.html
if you click on General construction tab things work ok...
if you click on Machine control tab, mouse over doesnt work and all page content of each tab show through.
ive been looking for the answer for 4 months with no success.
Hope a fellow dreamwever-person can help
Thanks RickYou called it: your links to the SpryAssets are linking to your hard drive, not to the files within the folder on the server.
Correct these links:
<script src="file:///C:/Users/work/Desktop/Sites/SpryAssets/SpryTabbedPanels.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
<link href="file:///C:/Users/work/Desktop/Sites/SpryAssets/SpryTabbedPanels.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
And you should be good to go.
Beth
ps. If you run into more difficulties with the Spry Widgets, take your questions to the Dreamweaver Spry Forum http://forums.adobe.com/community/labs/spry, where they will get quicker attention.

I can't set up multiple images in tabbed panels in photoshop CC (do not have this problem in PS5 or 6). Has anyone had this problem with CC and if so do they know the fix?
I just discovered something really weird. If I open the images in
photoshop (and the tabs are not showing) and then open another window on
top of photoshop (for example word or safari) , then the images and tabs
show in the photoshop window. But if I move Pshop to the front screen then
the tabs disappear! -
Sliding Panel Content Not Hidden
Hi All. This is my first post so apologies if I do something wrong.
I'm setting up sliding panels to work on my site (I've used them before) and this time I can't get the panels that aren't displayed to hide. The panels slide, but all panels are visable at all times. Here is the code -
CSS
.SlidingPanels {
position: relative;
width: 221px;
height: 260px;
padding: 0px;
border: none;
.SlidingPanelsContentGroup {
position: relative;
width: 10000px;
margin: 0px;
padding: 0px;
border: none;
.SlidingPanelsContent {
width: 221px;
height: 260px;
overflow: hidden;
margin: 0px;
padding: 0px;
border: none;
.SlidingPanelsAnimating * {
overflow: hidden !important;
.SlidingPanelsCurrentPanel {
.SlidingPanelsFocused {

Using Srpy tabbed panels with slidding panels
I am very new to spry and so I am still just figuring it all
out. How I found it was I wanted a tabbed panel like the one on the
IBM website. Anyway, I am trying to
use the tabbed panels with the sliding panels and it just does not
seem to be working. I found
this
tutorial and followed the codes but it still only works as just the
tabbed panels - nothing has changed at all. Can someone tell me
what I might be doing wrong? I am attaching both my html and css
code for you to inspect.

Change the default arrangement of tabs in the Project Panel
With every new project, I'm having to manually re-arrange the tabs in the Project panel to suit my workflow. Specifically, I'd like to permanenly change the tab order so that the "Good" tab is listed first, followed by Video Duration..etc.
Can this be done ?The Project Panel's Metadata Display dialog allows you to select which metadata properties are displayed as columns. You can save multiple Metadata Display profiles. Note, however, that these saved settings define only which columns are displayed.
The order of the columns is saved as part of the workspace. To save a custom workspace, set up all the panels, columns, etc. just the way you like, then go Window>Workspace>NewWorkspace.
With any workspace, if you change things around and want to get back to the saved settings, go Windows>Workspace>ResetCurrentWorkspace.
By the way, a minor point of terminology, in PPRO parlance "tab" usually refers to the top of the panel that you click to switch among panels in a frame. What you're asking about is columns. One reason that it's worth calling out this distinction is that workspaces save both the tab organization and the column organization. -

It was experimental in CC first release its now supported in CC 2014 not experimental.
Support for Windows touch devices
New in this release of Photoshop CC
Photoshop CC now supports Windows 8.1 touch devices like the Microsoft Surface Pro, so you can use pinch, zoom, pan, and rotate.
In Photoshop, two-finger touch gestures are used to control the location, rotation, and scaling of the Image > Canvas view. Users may alternate between touch view control and other interactions using the mouse or stylus, but touch may not be used simultaneously with other input. Touch control is convenient when painting on large touchscreen monitors, which are difficult to rotate physically, and on tablets to avoid constantly shifting the device.
For more information, see Touch gestures. -
Tabbed Panel menu + HTML Panel submenu?
I'm using spy tabbed panels for my top level menu and HTML
panels for the sublevels, and it works great...for one tab. The
other tabs display their submenus but don't respond with panel
content.
Looking at my site, you can see that the tabs work and that
the submenus are displayed, but only the panels under "Our Public
Responsibility" function. I guess each tab needs a separate panel
widget instance, but I don't know how to accomplish that.
Any input very much appreciated!
UPDATE: Just needed to sleep on it, I guess. I figured it
out.I'm sure you will get more answers in this forum: "Spry Framework for Ajax":http://forums.adobe.com/community/labs/spry
Good point. I'll post it there.
I do not see a problem with what you want to do. Keep in mind though, that, unlike the tabbed panel widget, you will be taken to a new page when clicking a link.
Also, do you know if it's possible to have an entire web page (separate html file), display in a panel?
Have a look here http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/samples/htmlpanel/html_panel_s ample.html
Yup, link to another page (e.g., my forum), would be right.
I'm trying to wrap my brain around the html panel link you provided. Thanks. -
Hi - Even though block popup windows is unchecked in content tab of options, I am still not getting any popups. Please suggest how to over come this problem.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
*Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
*https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Safe+Mode
*https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes
Did you make sure that your security software isn't blocking the pop-ups?
Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test.

Version 5.0 on a MAC will not let me switch between tabs. I can open a new tab, but when I try to go to a different tab, it just shows me the contents of the tab most recently opened. Help!
Also, pop up blocker works for some time and then just stops working. I have to close and restart Firefox to get it to work again. Help!I had the same problem, but with Firefox 4.0. My first thought was to update Firefox (after of course restarting FF), but that didn't help it and I had the same problem.
Among others, I had an extension installed and enabled called Tile Tabs 4.10 that I thought could feasibly creating this problem. So I went into my add-ons manager and disabled it, restarted Firefox and the tabs worked properly again. Unfortunately, the Tile Tabs extension is my favorite Firefox add-on and I use it almost every day for managing my web work tasks. I went to the add-on page for Tile Tabs and saw that there was a notice that version 4.10 didn't work properly on Mac OS, and to install version 4.9 of the extension. I saw they had a new, not-yet-reviewed version 4.11 that addressed the Mac OS problem, installed it, and everything seems to be working properly.
I have no idea why all of a sudden I had this problem, as I hadn't updated Firefox or the Tile Tabs extension recently. Also, obviously this might not address your problem, especially if you don't have that add-on installed and enabled. But our problem started at the same time for both of us it appears based on your post time, so its probably not coincidence.
But its worth a look, and you might want to check out other extensions if you don't have Tile Tabs that could be causing the problem.
