Tabbed views using JSP

Hi all!
Does anyone knows how can I insert "tabbed views" inside a JSP page ?
A simple example would be usefull.
Regards
Jose

Hi,
i think that it is much better that you keep using the traditional way to develop your webapplication : using Struts,JSP,Servelt, TagLib (you can find a lot of them on internet to create panel,ecc.).
I suggest you this because JSF is not a mature technology at the moment; when it will be stable i think it will be used a lot because is very useful to separate the presentation level and the business level.
At the moment i have to work with ".NET toy" where there is something called WebForm which is equal to JSF concept.
Cheers.

  • Libraries in tab view in sharepoint

    Hi
    I have created 3 document libraries and a created 3 tabs views using java script and added those libraries in the tab views.
    Now whenever i click on any of the folder the page gets refreshed and the default tab opens automatically, ideally i should be on the same tab on which i am working.
    How can this problem be eliminated.

  • Tab control in jsp

    How to develop tabbed applications using jsp . that is a single page should have tabs in it and each tab should show a different layout

    That sort of thing is usually done by Javascript (which you probably already know isn't Java). And JSP (which isn't Java either) just generates HTML, which can contain Javascript.
    So first figure out the HTML and Javascript to do that. Then write your JSP to generate that HTML and Javascript.

  • Create a tab view item in obj-c for use in applescript studio

    I'm making an application with applescript studio. I want to be able to add tab view items to a tab view at the press of a button. The problem I have is applescript studio doesn't allow me to create a new tab view item. So I'm thinking I can create the tab view item using objective-c, pass that to my applescript, then add it to my tab view.
    In applescript I plan to use the following call methods to first create the tab view item object, and then add it to my tab view. The objective-c code which is called from the first line in the applescript code is below that. When I run my code I'm getting an error saying newTVI is not defined... so maybe you can see my error! Be kind to me because I'm new to objective-c and I'm sure that's where my problem lies. Anyway, I'd appreciate any help.
    ==Applescript calls to create and add a new tab view item
    set newTVI to call method "returnNewTabViewItem" of class "makeNewTabViewItem"
    call method "addTabViewItem:" of objMainTV with parameter newTVI

  • Using CrystalReport Viewer in JSP

    [Reposting this as earlier post did not seem to make it]
    We have been looking into the option of using the Crystal Viewer in JSP. Presently we generate the report on user request and store the report in the Database as a Blob using  the following:
    ReportClientDocument doc = new ReportClientDocument();
    doc.open(name, 0);
    We use POJOs to fill the data (we use the doc.getDatabaseController().setDataSource() to do this).
    The filled ReportClientDocument is then converted into a BLOB as:
    ByteArrayInputStream byteArrayInputStream = (ByteArrayInputStream) doc
                            .getPrintOutputController().export(ReportExportFormat.PDF);
    int size = byteArrayInputStream.available();
    byte filledReportInBytes[] = new byte[size];
    byteArrayInputStream.read(filledReportInBytes, 0, size);
    Blob filledReport = new SerialBlob(filledReportInBytes);
    This filled report is then stored in the DB. Later when the user wants to view the report in PDF for e.g. we retrieve the PDF BLOB, convert it into a byte stream and pass it to the JSP and the user can then view the PDF.
    We want to support multiple view formats e.g. PDF, HTML, XLS, CSV etc. and looking at the Crystal Viewer it looks like this should be possible.
    Couple of questions we have are:
    1. Is it possible to export a ReportClientDocument into the ReportExportFormat.crystalFormat format, store into DB as a BLOB, later retrieve the BLOB, convert into a byte stream, and then put it into a format that can be sent to the Viewer?
    From what we can see the CystalReportViewer has the setDataSource(IReportSource) method which requires a IReportSource and we are not sure how to get the dataSource successfully. It should be possible if there is a way to recreate the ReportClientDocument from the BLOB that we stored in the DB.
    2. Is this CrystalReportViewer free as part of CR4J - i.e. no distribution costs as well?
    Has anyone come across this kind of requirement? If so, how is the viewer used successfully? If not, any ideas how this can be done?

    Hi Antony,
    do you use the "forward()" method or the "redirect()" method???

  • Design view for jsp custom tags.

    when we drag-and-drop custom tag control in the source of jsp page, when we switch to the design view of jsp we should be able to view controls as desired.
    Observation: 1) Eclipse 3.2 doesn't have design view for jsp pages.
    2) which software uses the design view. we need to extend eclipse core framework and we do not find any technical approach document to proceed further on this.
    3) RAD 6.0 we can see a JSP in design view.
    I'm searching for any technical approach document to create plugin that can intercept the custom tags and provide a design view.
    Will any one suggest the plugin for that.

    Jeff,
    I have checked with engineering and found that JSP Design View support on
    Linux is a planned feature for the next release. I don't think we will have
    this feature as part of a Service Pack for 8.1

  • Using jsp:include in showOneTab - main form not loaded on submit

    I have a JSP page with JSF and ADF components. It is a large JSP containing some main details and then an af:showOneTab component to create a set of tabs. It works fine with JDK 1.5 and Tomcat 5.0 but when changed to Oracle Application Server 9.0.4 and JDK 1.3 We get the following error:
    JspCompileException:.... code too large for try statement catch( Throwable e}....
    Finding this to be caused by large size of JSP, we divided the page as follows - a main jsp containing the main form details and 1 jsp for each tab. Whenever one of the tabs is clicked the corresponding JSP is dynamically loaded using jsp:include tag as follows:
    <af:showDetailItem text="Tab1" id="tab1" styleClass="menu">
              <f:subview id="viewTab1">
                   <jsp:include page="Tab1.jsp" />
              </f:subview>
    </af:showDetailItem>
    There is a Submit button in the main jsp, when this is clicked the main jsp is reloaded.
    But when the user navigates to any of the tabs and then clicks the Submit button in the main form, the main form is not reloaded - only the jsp for the currently selected tab is loaded.
    (I am using f:view and h:form in the main form, and no form tag in the included jsps)
    How to solve this problem?

    The af:selectOneChoice components are in the test.jsp page included in main.jsp with jsp:include tag.
    The code look like this:
                   <af:selectOneChoice label="#{msg.team}"
    id="soc1"
    value="#{myBean.selectedTeamID}"
    autoSubmit="true">
    <f:selectItems id="si1" value="#{myBean.teamList}"/>
    </af:selectOneChoice>
    <af:selectOneChoice label="#{msg.subteam}"
    id="soc2"
    value="#{myBean.selectedSubteamID}"
    partialTriggers="soc1"
    rendered="#{myBean.selectedTeamID!=null}"
    autoSubmit="true">
    <f:selectItems id="si2" value="#{myBean.subteamList}"/>
    </af:selectOneChoice>
    the code works fine in the seperate page, but when I include the page the second selectOneChoice component doesnt get rendered.

    If you haven't already, you need to set the JAVA_HOME environment variable.
    Setting it in catalina.bat is the wrong place. In Windows XP you can set the environment variables by
    1 - right click My Computer: propreties.
    2 - Advanced Tab
    3 - Button "Environment Variables" (near the bottom)
    4 - add a System Variable: JAVA_HOME to be the place you installed java
    JAVA_HOME should point to the directory you installed java. ie NOT to the java/bin directory (one common error)

  • Facelet to crare web app, instead of using JSP; JSF1.2 spec in WebSphere6.1

    Novice to JSF and Facelet. But, I had been using Struts since its inception.
    I am required to use IBM's WebSphere Application Server 6.1 that comes with Servlet 2.4 and JSP 2.0. WebSphere 6.1 App Server limits me to using JSF 1.1. This is because, JSF 1.2 requires Servlet 2.5 and JSP 2.1, that is a part of WebSphere App Server 7.0; not a part of WebSphere 6.1.
    Somebody suggested that it will be possible to use JSF 1.2 in WebSphere 6.1, if I were using Facelet, instead of JSP.
    I am not eager to use JSF 1.1 and may have to forego JSF; unless and until I can use JSF 1.2.
    The hold-up is that I cannot use JSF 1.2 spec in WebSphere 6.1. Is there is any way to use JSF 1.2 in WebSphere 6.1? Can I create an entire application using Facelet (instead of JSP) that will let me use JSF 1.2 spec in WebSphere 6.1? If so, how?
    Here are my questions, especially because I am not very familiar with JSF and Facelet technology:
    1. Can I use JSF 1.2 specification in WebSphere 6.1, if I were using facelet (as opposed to JSP) as my view technology?
    2. Will it be possible to create an entire web app with facelt, instead o fusing any JSP at all? If so, how? Does it mean that all the GUI screens will only use facelet and no JSP at all?
    3. Please explain how I can write a complex web app with 100s of screens using only facelet, instead of using JSP.
    4. Please provide pointer on how JSF and facelet differ, or what are their demarcations boundaries.
    Any comment and pointer will be greatly appreciated.

  • I want to create tab's in JSP..?

    Hello experts,
    I want to create tab's in JSP page. So if there is in taglib for tab's. So please let me know which one is this and how to implement it. And the directory structure of the Application folder.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Andy Surya

    Or you could write your own using divs and css, it wouldnt take very long as I have done it a couple of times. It might not be the best solution, but I made each tab section an action apart from the page you are currently on and used a separate jsp for each individual tab page. The html was replicated at the top of each page. Each clickable tab header had an action behind it fired by javascript.
    It requires a page refresh on each tab click and multiple jsp's (one for each tab) so might not be the most appropriate solution but it works very well and looks good.

  • How to open a pdf file in a web browser using jsp

    Hi,
    I have a problem opening pdf file in browser using jsp.the following is my code.Can anyone help me.Thanks
    response.setContentType("application/pdf");
    String filename="C:\\FictPos\\mypdf.pdf";
    File file = new File(filename);
    FileInputStream in = new FileInputStream(file);
    OutputStream out1=response.getOutputStream();
    byte[] buf = new byte[4096];
    int count = 0;
    while ((count = in.read(buf)) >= 0)
    out1.write(buf, 0, count);
    in.close();
    out1.close();
    }

    Don't know the problem specifically, but here are some suggestions to investigate:
    Does it show anything in the page when you view source on it?
    I would recommend using a servlet rather than a JSP page for this, if only for the fact the JSPs can insert carriage returns into places where you might not want them to. This might screw up the PDF file format?
    Try setting the a link to the jsp, right-click and "save target as..." just to see if it gets any response at all - ie bypass the browser display.
    Good luck,

  • Working with line feed, carriege return, tab etc in JSP web layout

    Hi guys,
    After looking at an old thread
    line feed, carriege return, tab etc in JSP web layout
    I think I am experiencing the same problem here and I'm struggling to implement the solution, mainly because I am a complete newbie at jsp reports (and most things webby).
    1) Can I add the code following code directly to the web source? If not then how do I find the css file being used?
    table pre {
    overflow-x: auto; /* Use horizontal scroller if needed; for Firefox 2, not needed in Firefox 3 */
    white-space: pre-wrap; /* css-3 */
    white-space: -moz-pre-wrap !important; /* Mozilla, since 1999 */
    /* width: 99%; */
    word-wrap: break-word; /* Internet Explorer 5.5+ */
    2) I'm not sure how to set the width to be same as the width of the table cell.
    Here's the web source and thanks very much in advance!

    The solution in the original post was:
    set the
    width to be same as the width of the table cell
    add following class to css file
    table pre {
    overflow-x: auto; /* Use horizontal scroller if needed; for Firefox 2, not needed in Firefox 3 */
    white-space: pre-wrap; /* css-3 */
    white-space: -moz-pre-wrap !important; /* Mozilla, since 1999 */
    /* width: 99%; */
    word-wrap: break-word; /* Internet Explorer 5.5+ */
    But I dont have a css file ... can I just add this to the web source and if so where?
