TABLE + BUTTON : NO LEADSELECTION + No Select column
I just have a button on each line for DETAILS
I'd like to identify the row on which the button was pressed so that I can read an internal table to get the corresponding record!
so far i'm there...
DATA:
L_INDEX TYPE I.
DATA:
NODE_OBJECT_LIST TYPE REF TO IF_WD_CONTEXT_NODE,

LWT_SELECTION TYPE WD_THIS->ELEMENT_SELECTION.
* navigate from <CONTEXT> to <OBJECT_LIST> via lead selection
ELEM_OBJECT_LIST = wdevent->get_context_element('CONTEXT_ELEMENT').
Stephan,
Suppose you have a NODE called DETAILS in your view VIEW. In the button action, add the following code to get the index of the selected element:
DATA: node_details TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_node,
elem_details TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_element,
lv_index TYPE i.
node_details = wd_context->get_child_node( name = 'DETAILS' ).
IF ( node_details IS INITIAL ).
EXIT.
ENDIF.
elem_details = node_details->get_element( ).
IF ( elem_details IS INITIAL ).
EXIT.
ENDIF.
lv_index = elem_details->get_index( ).

Insert into a table excluding duplicates of a selected column
I have mytable:

2

X24
12/23/13 9:22
23256
7
X24
12/23/13 9:22
22916
that is a result of INSERT i.e.,
INSERT INTO myTABLE(Item,[Date],[Level])
values('X24','12/23/13 :22','22916')
I want the INSERT to exclude the duplicate level defined as the previous level in a selected column [Level]. This would avoid having to 'view' the table using:
SELECT
i.IDNO,i.[Date],i.[Level]
FROM
mytable
i
INNER
JOIN
mytable
d
ON
d.IDNO
=
i.IDNO-1
WHERE
i.[Level]
<>
d.[Level]
IDNO is an identity column.
How can this INSERT be achieved without the overheads?Quite helpful comments particularly the ISO- 11179 and the design elements that can prevent the problem in the first instance. My apologies with regards to my impolite post omitting the DDL. It is a small procedure and [Date] and [Level] can be accommodated
by the server but are bad habits. My efforts to control the data input were in vain as the data was not from a software conducive to such controls. Because of the high frequency volume of the data, (suggested by the time-stamps with milliseconds cut), any
effort to have 'The data... cleaned in a presentation/input layer ' would be futile. The suggestions of yourself
and Erland Sommarskog, SQL Server MVP, [email protected], of a UNIQUE constraint to deal with the problem
underscores the importance of design even in the 'smallest' of procedures.
This worked:
drop table Foobar
CREATE TABLE Foobar

water_level INTEGER NOT NULL, -- why not be silly?
PRIMARY KEY (item_name,foo_timestamp, water_level));

How to implement 'Quick Select' column in a query result table?
Hi,
I have a requirement in OAF to design a search page with 'Quick select' column.
One of the column in the query result table should be a quick select.
Once user clicks on the quick select column, we have to navigate back to the previous page with the row value selected.
Can anyone help me in this.
Thanks. Also refer the search exercise in the toolbox tutorials.
you can implement the quick search in the same way as update and delete buttons.

Hiding select column in LOV results table
Is there a way to hide the select column easily in an LOV popup window? Right now I have a two column results area and it appears the LOV object dynamically adds a column of radio buttons in a column labeled SELECT and another column labeled QUICK SELECT. I wish to hid the SELECT column of radio buttons. It is not there when I look at the personalize link.
So right now the only two columns I have in my LOV mappings are Pay Period and Check Number. The results table renders as:
Select | Quick Select | Pay Period | Check Number |
I want it to not show the SELECT column. Any ideas?

Did you try changing the render property of the table region of the LOV ?

How to find out the selected column in Table Control
Hi all,
How to find out the selected column in Table Control?
Thanks & Regards,
YJRHi,
Let your table control name in Screen painter be TC1.
READ TABLE TC1-COLS INTO WA_COLS (some wok area)
WITH KEY SELECTED = 'X'.
IF SY-SUBRC = 0.
CLEAR: W_DUMMY, W_COL_NAME.
SPLIT WA_COLS-SCREEN-NAME AT '-' INTO W_DUMMY
W_COL_NAME.
endif.
W_COL_NAME gives you the column name.
Hope it helps.

How to select columns in a table by their column id and not the column name
Hello,
How do you select columns from a table based on their column_id.
I have create a view
but other than Select * , i cant now select one just one column from it
the view as follow:
create view count_student as
select a.acode "acode",aname "Activity Name",count(ae.acode) "Number of student joined"
from aenrol ae, activity a
where a.acode= ae.acode
group by a.acode, aname; The issue is that you have decided to use quoted column names. A pretty horrible idea (mostly for the reasons that you are now finding).
Re-create the view and get rid of the silly double quotes. -
How to add the values of all selected columns in a table and display it ?
Hi all,
I am using jdeveloper 11.1.1.6.0
Page:
my page jsff page contains one ADF table and one textbox
DB:
i have two database tables A & B ,
i need 2 columns from each table . say (A.product_no ,A.product_name,B.prodeuct_price ,B.confirm)
here product_no is primary key and present in both tables.
i need to create a VO combining these two tables and put it as ADF table in a jspx page
Functionality :
my 'confirm' field is a checkbox field in table . whenever the checkbox is selected,
the corresponding price will be getting added and display it in a textbox.
Eg:
if my first 4 price values are 3000 , 2000 ,4000,2000
and if i select first 3 values , then the text box should contain 9000 value.
i need help ...
Problem:
i need help in creating VO and functionality partHi,
it is easy: create an entity object for every table and one view object where you select your both entity objects and join them in your select statement.
Your desired 'confirm' functionality could be achieved with helpp of view object transient attributes - for more information see: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/web.1111/b31974/bcquerying.htm#CHDHJHBI

How to export selected columns in a table using expdp of oracle10g
Hi all..
I have a table with 10 columns and i want to export only 4 columns(selected columns) data using expdp
Pl. tell me if we can do this and if yes what is the syntax.
Thanks..
SekharThat's not possible, you could use QUERY to specify where clause but not columns in select clause,
for example,
QUERY=employees:'"WHERE department_id > 10 AND salary > 10000"'
you could use
create table2export as select c1,c2,c3,c4 from tableof10columns;and export the temp table. -

Select columns from table for display in alvgrid.
Hi all,
i have the following:
i do select a tablename and pass it as a parameter. then this table is loaded into an internal table and displayed in an alv-grid.
what i now want to do is a step between the both:
after the internal table with its structure is loaded, i want to display the field columns and i want them to be selectable so that in the next step the alv - grid is selected only with the selected columns ( just now it allways runs with all columns - even the not needed ).
Any ideas for that would be appreciated. Is there some tutorial on that or some sample ?hi

There are a number of ways to create a fieldcat.
For the purpose of this example i will build the fieldcatalog manualy
by populating the internal table fields individually and then
appending the rows. This method can be the most time consuming but can
also allow you more control of the final product.
Beware though, you need to ensure that all fields required are
populated. When using some of functionality available via ALV, such as
total. You may need to provide more information than if you were
simply displaying the result
I.e. Field type may be required in-order for
the 'TOTAL' function to work.

How to insert select columns from one internal table to another
Hi,
How to insert select columns from one internal table to another based on condition as we do from a standart table to internal table.
regards,
SriramHi,
If your question is for copying data from 1 int table to other ;
we can use
APPEND LINES OF it_1 TO it_2.
or if they have different columns then:
loop at it_1 into wa_it1.
move wa_it1-data to wa_it2-d1.
apped wa_it2 to it_2.
clear wa_it2.
endloop.

Push button in one of the columns of Table Control
Hi,
I have a requirement, where i have to display a push button in one of the columns of table control for long text. When user clicks on the control, a pop up has to be appeared in which user should be able to enter some meaning ful description and save it. please suggest me how to do this requirement.
Best Regards,
Phani Kumar. SHai,
You can drag n drop a button to the required column in the table control and give the required parameters like ok_code , name etc.
You can now place a text field as the heading of the column.
Now when the user clicks the the button in a row, read the corresponding line in which he has clicked. For that u can use
get cursor lines wrk_line.
now u'll get the data in that row using
Read table it_tab into wa_tab index wrk_line.
now u can call the text editor (using FM's READ_TEXT ,EDIT_TEXT and CREATE_TEXT in which the user can enter the meaningful description and save it.
When u save the text entered save it with a key part of the row that was read earlier(keep it as the text name).
So now if u need to get the description which was entered earlier u can easily read the text (using READ_TEXT ).
I hope this will be helpful for u .
Thanks

How to use selection column in a table control
I have given the name of the selection column to be 'DEF_SEL',now i want to select rows in the table control using the 'selection column attribute' and maniupulate it programmatically so that i would transport the rows selected using selection coulmn to a different table control. How would i do this?
Hi raja,
Once you have the table cobtrol built using the extra field in the internal table, all the selected rows will have DEF_SEL = 'X'.
Now you can loop your internal table and filter the records which were selected.
in pai modules:
loop at itab where DEF_SEL = 'X'.
Move itab information inrto another internal table.
append itab_new.
endloop.
have another table control which shows the data in the itab_new.

Ravi
