Table control,any property

Hi Friends,
i have a small requirement in module pool programming with table control.
first thing what i have is a button called CREATE and Display
when i click on Create button i could see the table control with all the rows as editable which seems to be fine but
when i click on display i'm getting the data from the Database table and filling it in the table control . what my requirement is when i'm getting data from db table if we have 2 entries table control is showing 2 entries in the 2 rows which are editable and rest all rows seems to be non editable.The requirement here is i want all the rows to be editable when we are getting data from DB table(So that user can add new entries) and save. Please help me out.

i am facing similar kind of problem...in my table control when i click CREATE button, though the Data get Created, the data disappears from the table control. Does your table control behave like this,
if no can you say what have you done for that.

Here is what I thought would be a simple task. I want to use the run-time shortcut menu to export data to excel from a table control, which is an option in the default menu.
The two things I would like to be able to do are:
1) Either the whole table including the headers or
2) Perform a selection of rows during run-time to export to excel
From a prior discussion, it appear that there is a bug in this functionality. When I tried to create my own code to perform the selection programmatically, my table was resized to a thumbnail while running the VI, and the export still not work properly.

Any further thoughts on this are appreciated. I have some workarounds but would like to see this working.

Any further thoughts on this are appreciated. I have some workarounds but would like to see this working.
First, try to save to the oldest version of VI you can so that the most people are able to view your VI.
Not everybody has the latest LabVIEW installed. Strange but true.
Second, I opened your VI and I don't see anything except a While loop and a Stop button with a Table control. No other code.
I have no clue what you are doing with regards to "perform the selection programmatically".
Anyway, I select cells on the Table control using Property Node Selection Size and Property Node Selection Node and the Invoke Node to export the data to Excel, it works for me.
Excel opens up and I see one worksheet which is populated with the values from the Table control.
I have Excel 2010.
However, it looks like you will need to manually save the opened Excel file.

Populate table control in maintenance view

Hi all,
I need to load data from an excel file and then call the maintenance view from a table through SM30 transaction,
I want to see the data from the file already loaded in the table control,
any idea how could I achieve this?
I don't know how could I do it, I've been working with events but I have no idea how to manage the entire table,
I just can handle row by row of the table.
Any help will be appreciated, thanks in advance.

(3) enter the name of your table control (any name you want) (4) press continue (5) select 'internal table' (6) enter name of your internal table (the one that contains data to be displayed for table control) (7) press continue (8) fields of your itab will be displayed then, select the fields you want to be seen on your table control (9) continue pressing 'continue' until complete button is shown (10) press 'complete'.
I tried giving database table name instead of internal table at point number (6).

Hello,
What determines the Active Cell Position property node for a table control? I have this in my code and I am displaying its value to a front panel indicator. The value displayed is always set to 0,0. The help for the property node say that it is "read -only" so what sets the value of Active Cell Position for a Table Control?

You set the active cell with a property node. Once you select an active cell, you can do specific things to that cell and that cell alone, things like set the background color.

How to optimize the column width in Table Control

Hi all,
When I am displaying fields in Table Control, the columns are displayed in full length, and I am unable to see all the fields at once.
So as in grid , where we optimize the column width using layout, do we had any property for TC to do so.

Hi,
In Se51, you can do this one, ust open your table control and resize the TC, there is no direct option to do this for entire TC, you need to do this field by field, and arrage the TC to adjust in a Single screen. In the field parameters, you have the field lenghts, there you can minimize the length of a field

How to find out the selected line in the table control

Hi Guys,
i have a requirement like this. i have table control and the internal table for that table control as IT_CASE. this internal table i declared as CHECKBX, MATNR, QUANTITY. but when i am enter the values in the table control i am getting the values in MATNR and QUANTITY in the that internal table IT_CASE. but when iam selecting that that line iam not getting CHECKBOX as 'X' in that internal table IT_CASE. i declared the table control as CAS_CONTROL and in that i have given the "w/selcolum" property as IT_CASE-CHECKBOX. now i want to fill that CHECKBOX as 'X' inthat internal table IT_CASE whatever the lines we are selecting only for those lines i want to fill up as 'X' in that internal table.
Can you please suggest any one reg this.

You can give a name such as 'SEL' in w/selcol and declare SEL as char1. Then follow the coading.
in TOP.

Table Control in web-dynpro for java

Hi SDN,
I was working on a web-dynpro application where I has to display a table control.
Here I am listing my Requirement.
1) A table with 7 columns are to be displayed.
2) 5 of the columns are Drop down list where 3 of the 5 drop downs have dependency of the pervious drop down selection.
3)other 2 columns are input box.
4)The list for the drop downs come from a bapi.
5)the user is to be allowed as many rows he can
6)when he clicks save button the values are to be stored using table of another bapi

I have better solution, I will explain solution for your design and then I will explain new design.
Solution to your problem
How many values each drop down contains? If its not large, execute all drop downs in the beginning of the application and store them in HashMap with dependency key and value as the list of populated values.
- Create a top Node
1) A table with 7 columns are to be displayed.
Create 5 Value Nodes with simple type attributes under your topnode. Set singleton property for each of the node to false. And attach them to the Drop Downs. Populate the parent drop down and non dependent drop downs in the begining itself.
2) 5 of the columns are Drop down list where 3 of the 5 drop downs have dependency of the pervious drop down selection.
Attach onSelect events and based on the current selection of the values, check your pre populated HashMap and fill the node with new values.
3)other 2 columns are input box.
This is normal, create two nodes with simple types under Top Node.
4)The list for the drop downs come from a bapi.
As mentioned previously all these values are pre populated. so you need not to call the BAPI for each request.
5)the user is to be allowed as many rows he can
Provide Add,Delete buttons which dynamically creates rows which means your context elements.
6)when he clicks save button the values are to be stored using table of another bapi
Read the values from nodes and send it to other BAPI.
New Design
As per your requirement create a form with 5 drop downs and 2 input fields( for dependency you can use the logic mentioned in the previous design). Provide Add,Delete and Update Buttons under the form. And also create a Result table with 7 columns with simple attribute types. Once user enters some values in the form and clicks on Add button then add a new value to the Bottom result table which doesn't have any drop downs. When user needs to update any row on selection of the row populate the values back to the form, then user clicks on update button. Same logic applies to delete also.

You have to set the LINES property of the table control In the PBO of your screen, to the number of entries in the internal table.
data: lv_line type i.
DESCRIBE TABLE gt_table LINES lv_line.
table_control-lines = lv_line + 1.
or else
You can do two thing in table control properties check horizontal and vertical scroll options plus in PBO you can based on number of lines in internal table assign it to TC_ABC-LINES if no lines are there then add by default 20..10.. any number of lines as you want.

Can you programmatically change the width of columns in a table control\indicator

Is it possible to programmatically change the width of columns in a table control\indicator ie to fit to width of the data or in my case the header information.

Create a property node (or reference) and use the 'Active Cell' property to select which column you want to change and then use the 'Cell size'--> 'Width' property to change the size.

Empty Rows in Table Control

How make Invisible a particular Cell in the TAble Control.

Dear Freinds,
       I have requirement where in on a particular conditon i have to close one of the fields in the TAble contorl . That is i have to make it as invisible ....iam able only to make only display (greyed out) only iam not able to make invisible.

All about table control

Hi,
I am using a table control in my application vi for both reading inputs and displaying output. I have a few questions about it:
1. Sometimes I send the data in multiple lines to a cell but at the output, I am only able to see the first line and not the other parts unless I hover around the cell. Is there any way to autoincrease the cell (or row) height so that the table control show the multiple line output properly.
2. Also, how can I make cell of table to auto adjust the column width according to input text length.
Please refer the attached image for details. All suggestions are welcome..

You use an internal table for values in table control..
One of the fields( very first field) in that itab is used for check - uncheck..
u have make it 'X' when u click any row...
I think this might be the problem in ur case.. when u scroll PAI starts... in that PAI check the value of check box for that particular field...

Updating data in table control
The ABAP language provides two mechanisms for loading the table control with data from the internal table and then storing the altered rows of the table control back to the internal table.
Method 1: Read the internal table into the Table Control in the screenu2019s flow logic. Used when the names of the Table Control fields are based on fields of the internal table.
Method 2: Read the internal table into the Table Control in the module pool code. Used when the names of the Table Control fields are based on fields of the database table.
Method 1 (table control fields = itab fields)
In the flow logic we can read an internal table using the LOOP statement. Define the reference to the relevant able control by specifying WITH CONTROL <ctrl>
Determine which table entry is to be read by specifying CURSOR <ctrl>-CURRENT_LINE.
After the read operation the field contents are placed in the header line of the internal table. If the fields in the table control have the same name as the internal they will be filled automatically. Otherwise we need to write a module to transfer the internal table fields to the screen fields.
