The task was to create a internal table with dynamic columns,
Actually this is my first task in the WebAS 6.20, my program is based on input file provided by user with certain effort. this file can have different effort for a one yr to five year frame..

I have browsed thru dynamic internal table topic, but couldn't find any dynamic appending structure, the dynamic structure would contains 12 month fileds.

NULL values are inserted into interface table for read only columns

Hi, I developed a custom Integrator where some of the columns has to be displayed as read only in the layout. I am using SQL content to populate the data. When I upload the data NULL values are inserted into table interface? Is there any work around for this?

Doesn't WebADI drive you insane at times?
I must say, when it's all working it looks great and it is very user friendly (end-user that is, NOT for developers!) but before you get to that stage… please please Oracle invest some time making Web ADI a bit more logical an coherent, get the obvious bugs out, please let us not have to update BNE tables anymore to get things done.
Anyway, I sorted this one out by setting the Width to zero (0) in the Layout. HTH.

Simple logic - virtual characteristic

I'm writing a code for a virtual characteristic, but need a couple pieces to get in place. please help with the following problem:
In my logic, I have an internal table itab1 whose contents are as follows:
plant sale
1001 100
1001 50
2001 300
First I want to aggregate multiple rows like below:
plant sale
1001 150
2001 300
Second, I want to create another internal itab2 which ranks plants as follows:
plant sale rank
1001 150 2
2001 300 1
Please help with logic.

1) When you select values in the internal table make you select statement as below;
select plant sum( sales ) as sales from table into corresponding fields of table itab1 group by plant.
This will give output as:
plant sale
1001 150
2001 300
2) For ranking, i believe you want them to be ranked based on the sales they have. For that do the foll:
data: count(3) type n.
itab2[] = itab1[].
sort itab2 descending by sales.
count = 1.
loop at itab2 into wa2.
wa1-rank = count.
modify itab2 from wa2.
count = count + 1.
endloop.
clear count.

Hierarchy in BEx using a virtual characteristic

Hello BW Experts,
I encountered a problem with the display of a virtual characteristic in context with a hierarchy.
The goal is to display a weighted rating (the virtual characteristic) for each hierarchy level individually.
What I get:
IAS Category Weighted Rating Ratio Weighted MV / MV
Level 1 A 5

Level 2a A 5

Stock 2 AAA 1
Level 2b AAA 1
Stock 3 AAA 1
What I'd like to get:

Level 1 AA 3

Level 2b AAA 1
Stock 3 AAA 1
Level 2 is the lowest level in the hierarchy and Level 1 a text node. The weighted rating is determined in a SAP Exit (include ZXRSRZZZ) in a mapping ODS whereas the ratio Weighted Market Value / Market Value (a virtual key figure) is the lookup key. The solution might be something like the declaration of the aggregation level for the virtual characteristic in the SAP Exit.
Any suggestions would by highly appreciated.

why do you not using an Hierarchy with Characteristics and Attributes? This should be much easier.(use a balanced hierarchy)
I do not believe, that you have a chance to do the rating for the levels with a virtual characteristic.
Another possibility is to use an virtual InfoPovider with Services and do the data collection by your own.

Tables in read only mode

Hi friends.
In my job we insert data in some tables, in the end of the month we do some operations with this data and for the next month we use other tables.
How do I change my tables for read only mode, because is so dangerous that for error erase the old tables?

Hi,
You can revoke all privs like insert, update, delete... from all other users for these tables. Then only the owner can do some damage.
If the database user is used by many different people and you rather don't trust them, copy the 'old' tables to another schema and don't spread the password.
And most important: Have backups in place!

When I try to create an external content type based on a view (AdventureWorks2012.vSalesPerson) - I can display the data in an external list. When I attempt to edit it, I get an error:
External List fails when attached to a SQL view
Sorry, something went wrong
Failed to update a list item for this external list based on the Entity (External Content Type) 'SalesForce' in EntityNamespace 'http://xxxxxxxx'. Details: The query against the database caused an error.
I can edit the view in SQL Manager, so it seems strange that it fails.
Any advice would be greatly GREATLY appreciated.

Table for model characteristic usage in queries

Hi does anyone know the name of the table(s) which I can establish the following:
1. I have a multicube with say 15 dimensions consisting of a total of 35 Dimension characteristics
2. There are say 6 navigational attributes switched on for reporting
3. There are say 10 key figures
4. There are say 65 queries built off this info provider
What I would like to establish is in the 65 queries which elements in 1, 2 and 3 have been used. I am aware of the RSZ* tables but was not able to find what I am looking for. Thanks in advance

I find this is relevant to your query and go through this...
        The names of the structural components are language dependent. When you define and save a query with the logon language as German, only the corresponding German texts are saved in the relevant tables (for example, RSZELTTXT). This is not the original key figure, but rather a structural component, a new object that linksto the original key figure but is not the original key figure.
·        If you then execute the query in a different logon language to the one that you used to define the query, the standard texts are displayed for all structural components that have no text.
·        Structures and structural components (selections, formulas) are completely independent objects that appear in the BEx Query Designer and that you can store in the relevant tables when you save them. Since texts are fundamentally language-dependent, the texts in the query definition appear in the logon language only when you save the query.

In one report, I use following coding to read information from RFDT table:

I can fill F110c, trcopt and f110versionpar by this program. But there is no entry in table like fkttab, usrtab.
Is there any authorization need for read cluster table??

yes there are many ways you can audit the Source database according to your requirments. as you need to audit the select , insert etc you can audit in many ways
1) By implementing policies , (i.e) FGA , or statement policy on a given table or a given user.
2) you can also do the required task by implementing the alerts on specific conditions like select on a specifc table etc
you can use these utileties from AV console.

I have one issue regarding the spool ,we are getting the correct output as per requirement of user but when we send the same to the user in pdf format they did notget the same.
they are telling that the due date is missing from the pdf.
