Table maintainance (restriction on displaying fields)

i have created table maintainance generator.now my requirement is i dont want to display all table fields.just 2 fields want to display.all other should be in invisible.can anybody suggest me how to do it?

To Hide one of the field from table into the Table Maintainance generator,
Call one module Say :
MODULE Hide in the PBO of the Module pool of table maintainance generator Program.
Write the Following code in above module :
MODULE Hide OUTPUT.
LOOP AT SCREEN.
    IF screen-name = 'ZGIFT_DISPATCH-MAKTX'.
      screen-invisible = 0.
      MODIFY SCREEN.
    ENDIF.
ENDLOOP.
ENDMODULE.                 " Hide OUTPUT
Replace the name of field accordingly in IF condition.
It will Work.

Import Manager and Display Fields

I've been using SRM-MDM 3.0 for a couple of months and 1 fundamental MDM design has always bothered me and I was hoping to get some resolve on this.
The purpose of Display Field is 2 folds:
1. Display the field in the Catalog Search UI for a lookup table: i.e. if both Supplier Name and ID are Display Fields, then in the Search UI, both fields are displayed to the end-user. If only Supplier ID was the display field, then in the UI only the ID is displayed.
- From a usability pov, tables such as Supplier and Product Group should have the name or description fields displayed in the Search UI as the numeric values are meaningless to the end-users.
2. Display field ALSO affect what is the key used to import data into a table. So if Supplier ID is the display field for Supplier table, then in Import Manager, the Supplier ID values are displayed and must be mapped to the source values.
- From an importing pov, mapping values should always be an index-like field, such as Supplier ID or Product Group ID, or ISO, and usually never the actual name or description field.
But SAP has tied the two together. So in order to display the name/description to the end-user, we must enable the name/description field as a Display Field. But we also want to map based on the index/ID field, so we also enable the index/ID field as a Display Field. Now in Import Manager, we have two Display Fields for a table (i.e. Supplier ID and Supplier Name for Supplier table) and I've noticed some issues with this:
1. You import file must have BOTH values (index/ID and the name/description fields) in the source, in order to Automap. If your source file only has 1 field, like in MECCM when extracting ECC contract, ONLY the Supplier ID, or Category ID is extracted, Automap is not possible. What is funny is that standard SAP extract program only extracts the ID fields, BUT the standard SAP repository has the name/description fields as the Display Field. Automap is a must for tables like Product Group where hundreds of lines can make manual mapping a pain.
2. I also noticed you cannot Add values to a table that has 2 Display Fields, you can only map to existing values. The Add button is grayed out.
With all that said, when you're replication ECC Contract Data using MECCM, for tables like Supplier and Product Group, what fields should be set as Display Fields, and if there are multiple Display Fields, what special setting needs to be done in Import Manager to enable automapping? Even standard SAP Import Map (_MDMContractDataTransmission_ProductID) throws errors when multiple fields are set as Display Fields.
I'm not familiar with the partitioning function, and I've seen PDF's about it, but don't really see how it could be helpful. I've also read someone suggesting changing the DF's before import, which I think is unacceptable, as this requires unloading/loading repositories everytime an import happens.

Thanks for writing your thoughts. I would like to provide some information on one of your points where in you have mentioned that :

I completely agree that if you have 2 fields in MDM repository and you are only importing only one of them, then you cannot use the Automap feature of Import Manager. So in your case, the description is not getting importing, so you cannot use Automap in that case.
I had a very similar requirement in one of my project and we went with creation of a Import Value template. We created a template with all the possible values for all the look up tables in that and mapped it once in the Map. Hence, next time, the Map was used to automatically Map the source and Destination values for all the look up tables.

Displaying fields from a Z Table on CRM UI

Hello Experts
I am trying to display fields from a custom table onto a CRM UI form view.
1. I created a custom GENIL root object & Search object ie. ZCUSTOMER. & ZCUSTSEARCH
2. Tested this in the GENIL BROWSER to ensure that I could enter update values to the table and retrieve it via the search object.
3. Created a custom component ZCUSTOMER
4. Created a view with this component ZCUSTOMER using the wizard -
     Model Name - CUSTINFO
     BOL Entity - ZCUSTOMER
     No links to the custom controller or higher level objects.(as I do not want to tie this to any standard components)
Type of view - Form view
7. Created a Context node for the component controller with the same info as I did for the view.
8. Performed the binding of the view context node with the component controller context node.
9. Configured 1 field CUST_NAME to be displayed on the view.
10. Configured the run time repository to display the view.
Now the issue is..
When the view gets displayed, the field is displayed with the error "CUST_NAME not bound"
What am i missing?

Thanks for the feedback. I re-viewed the WD_CREATE_CONTEXT method of the view controller implementation class and I see the following code in there already-

How to add new field to table control data not displayed

hi
I have added some nwe fields to already existing table control added three new fields...
though the recoreds are inserted in teh table properly with the three new fields user id data and time fields
but on display only the data is not shown in these three columns though the data is coming in internal table...but not to the screen output
pls suggest where the problme may be

First try the small button Configuration on top right of the table control, as displayed when you run the program. Hit 'Administrator' and see if the fields are checked as invisible. Uncheck them, activate and save.
If the fields are not in that list at all, then check if the table control is initialized for the screen you use. For example
CONTROLS: tc_ent_lines TYPE TABLEVIEW USING SCREEN '0100'.
but you copied your screen and use the same table control in the new screen 0200. Then all you have to do is
REFRESH CONTROL 'TC_ENT_LINES' FROM SCREEN '0200'.
before you show the screen.

Data Maintain in a table form another table....using field symbols.

when i append data it will enter into both tables.when i unassign first table and reassign it ,i am getting back that data again into first table ..how to slve this problem.i need to start first table as fresh table and second table contain copy of the first table.

I have created a table maintainance for ztable. I need a drop down list for field so that user can select values present in the list while giving entries.
I can not use fixed values in domain, because feild length is more and it wont fit into fixed values.

Date field is missing in the Table maintainance generator

A table is created. A date field is there in that table. I tried to create a table maintainance generator for this table using 2 screens. Table maintainance generator is created. But when I go to SM30 , I am unable to see this <b>DATE</b> field in the SM30 , in the first screen. But when I go to maintainance screen , I am able to see this field. This particularly happening with date field.
Could you please help me.

Non-display fields in Qualified Table to be displayed in ItemDetail iView

Hello expert,
Is it possible to display a non display field in Qualified Table in ItemDetailed iView?
It seems not possible by standard iView configuration.
Is it possible to achieve by some minor coding? If possible, such code is appreciated.

Hi Dale,
Yes, it is possible , and no need to do any custome coding. You can configure non-Display field of Qualified table to be displayed in Standard item detail iview.
You have to select Qualified look up field if you are creating Item iview on Main table and complete all steps.
once you complete all steps, open Item iview , select Reletionship and qualified display field option .
now you can see qualiied tables in table , click on Edit , now you can see all fields of qualified table.. you can select any field (dis/non-dis fields).

Now i m trying to create a Table Maintainance Generator And the Problem is following two fields are not visible in TMC.
ZIN_DATE                   ZDATUM_IN

But if i add another field with other data type ( other than time and date), that field is visible.
And if i include above two field in primary key, then only it is visible.
Is ther any restriction with time and date format field with TMC.
Any idea.

Hi Jaspal,
There are two maintenance types available while creating a table maintenance generator.
1. One step
2. Two step
If the TMG is built in one-step, then all the fields (both key and non-key fields) will be displayed in a single screen. So, all your fields will get displayed.
Whereas if the TMG is built in two-step, the key fields will be displayed in a single screen and further details will be displayed in another screen. In this table, you have set the fields 'ZOUT_DATE' and 'ZOUT_TIME' as primary key. so it will be displayed in one screen and the non-key fields will be displayed in the second screen. So, if the fields 'ZIN_DATE' and 'ZIN_TIME' were to be dispalyed in the first screen, make it as a primary key.

you can validate the data in tables, after generating a table maintanance generator.
Environment->Modification->Events.
After providing the subroutine name you can go to editor( click on icon provided just besides the form routine) and write the logic for validation.
for example, if changes are to be made to the data of particular controlling area, a check has to be made if the user is authorised to make changes. Below is a sample code that would give you an idea.

It is very interesting question. If you debug your table maintenance screen, the program of table maintenance screen will not have statically defined pf status. So you cannot exclude delete functionalities using the below statement.
SET PF-STATUS <the GUI status> EXCLUDING 'DELE'.
For viewing pf status SAP has programmed in dynamic manner using this FM VIEW_SET_PF_STATUS.
Before calling above FM you need to exclude delete function. Follow the following step for achieving this
Go to sm30. Put your table name and press on maintain push button. It will display table entries in maintenance screen.
Go to system->status
Click on program name.
Go to your flow logic of you table maintenance screen number.
It will have following code in flow logic

Please donu2019t hardcode anything by using set pf status statment, you just add one line of code the PBO by creating new module.

Did you add any FLTP field in table and generating table maintenance generator for the same? FLTP type of field can't be displayed on screen or in SM30, They need to be converted to CHAR before displaying. Please check for the same.

How to restrict values displayed using a select-options

Can someone please tell me how to restrict values displayed using a select-options.
Example- in my table I have 100 entries. However when the user will click on the required field- I want to be display only 25 options based on a given value of another field in the table.

I am building table maintainance generator in that i want the serial number shold be displayed or generated for new entry automatically.
please mind this, i am going to put more that one entry at single time and my serial number field is primary key in table .

In table maintenance we can add an event during new entries creation, in that add code to read the table for the last entry and increment one to it. Hence whenever a new entry is created serial number value is generated.

Table Maintainance Generated but getting error when running SM30

Hi Experts,
I am modifying existing ZTable with around 31 fields and Maintainance was not allowed before also no Table maintainance was there. Now i have changed the attributes to allow maintainance and tried creating Table Maintainance generator.
The TMG get created sucessfully but get error message when running SM30 for the Ztable with Run time error saying Coversion Error .
Error Analysis says :
Program SAPLZNMSLG attempted to display the fields of screen 0005 and error occured during the coversion of this data.
Can any one let me know what happened? Expecting replies at the earliest.

Hi,
In Text I/O Template Tab each field name will be there with Column- Name, Type and Text Or I/O Field
Go to Text OR I/O Field (Fields Wherever u have negative value).
Name Type Text Or I/O Field
vbak-menge I/O _.___.___.___,____V
Just add existing blank field ending with V.
