Table only pulls 1st row from SQL database?

Hi,
I have created a table in Livecycle Designer ES that pulls in data from a SQL Server table with 2 rows, see table.gif attached..
It only ever pulls in the first row and doesn't repeat for all rows in the SQL table.
How can this be done?
Thank you for your time,
Ollie.

Rich -
The property loader step type does not look at data stored in the database as ordered. It assumes that anything in the recordset that meets the criteria specified on the filtering tab is importable. Whatever locals are defined within that filter are automatically applied and if two records apply to the same variable, then the last record applied wins.
Keep in mind that the locals variable scope applies to all steps in the sequence so to define a set of local values for one step and another for a different step is not quite what we had in mind for the step type. The idea is to import properties before executing any steps in the sequence and then run the sequence. Importing properties between steps goes beyond the intended scope of the step, but
it can be done if you limit the selected records using the filtering tab.
Hope this helps...

  • How to remove only one row from the database using labview6.1

    using labview 6.1 I create a table with various rows and columns and store bulk of data's in them.,, what procedure should I follow to remove only one paticular row from the database? Help me out with an example please,,
    Thanking you in advance!

    Hi,
    If you have the database toolkit you can delete a row using just a SQL Query to "DB Tools Execute Query.VI"
    Example:
    DELETE FROM Table name Where SerialNum='Value' And Date='Value' And Time='Value'
    See also attached VI

  • Randomly selecting some rows from the database table

    Hi can some one help me in selecting some rows from a database table which has around 90,000 rows.
    Thanks.

    One thing you might try is the "sample" clause if you have 8i which is supposed to return a random percentage of the table. Say for example, you have a sequence number on your table as the pkey. Then you might try:
    select * from <table_name> where pkey in(select pkey from <table_name> sample(10));
    This should give you a random 10 percent of the rows in the table but I tried this once and the results seemed unpredictable. For example it returned a different number of rows each time even though the number of rows in the table didn't change.
    Hope this works for you.

  • How do I show multiple rollover images on a page inserted dynamically (pulled out of a sql database

    How do I show multiple rollover images on a page inserted dynamically (pulled out of a sql database table) using Dreamweaver’s Repeat Region. Example: I have different products each one associated (through their productID) with two images (one that’s showing in the page and one for the rollover effect) that are pulled from a database using Dreamweaver’s Recordset. So I want to end up with a page containing row after row of images(one for every product).When moused over each image will reveal the second (rollover) image for the same product which in turn can be a link(the image itself ) that when clicked leads to a detailed page with more information about the product the image is associated with. To show row after row with images for the different products in the database table I am using Dreamweaver’s Insert Rollover Image command and then the  Repeat Region – I have no problem to complete the steps, to insert the image and the rollover one at once and set the paths so they are pulled dynamically depending on the productID they are associated with .I have also no problem to apply the Repeat Region so not only the first image associated with the first product in the table is shown but all of them-a routine and standard procedure when using the Repeat Region to dynamically generate and display multiple rows of data. However, when I preview the page the rollover effect is lost –the images are shown but when moused over the second  image does not  show. The problem is caused when the Repeat Region is applied-once again I am allowed to apply it but the rollover stops working, a kind of interference. ANY SOLLUTION PLEASE, ANY WORK AROUND.

    I gotta tell you, using multiple images for rollover effects is going to be a big challenge in your dynamic scenario.
    If this were my product page, I would use thumbnails with a bit of CSS opacity or filters to desaturate and make them full opacity/color on mouse over.  Nice effect with much less bandwidth. Easily done globally with CSS code.

  • Selecting a one row from the database is not working

    Hi all I am having a small problem with getting a row from my database to show up. Here is the code for the search that I want to do
                            String item; String columnName; String result; columnName = (String)searchBox.getSelectedItem(); item = searchField.getText().trim(); String tableName = "employee"; if(item == null || item.equals("")){ System.out.println("No Text entered"); }else{ try { result = sql.retrieve_From_Database(columnName, tableName, item); System.out.println(result); } catch (SQLException e1) { sql.displayErrors(e1); }
    Here is the code for the retrieve_From_Database function.
    protected String retrieve_From_Database(String columnName, String tableName, String item) throws SQLException{ ResultSet rs = null; Statement sm = null; sm = con.createStatement(ResultSet.TYPE_SCROLL_SENSITIVE, ResultSet.CONCUR_READ_ONLY); rs = sm.executeQuery("select * from " + tableName + " where " + columnName + " = " + item); result = rs.getString(columnName); if(result == null){ System.out.println("Error in retrieve"); return new String("No results in DB"); }else{ System.out.println(result); return result; } }
    When I run the first code I get an error of SQL Exception: Unknown column 'anthony' in 'where clause'. But yet when I run the query of
    Select * from employee where FirstName = 'anthony'
    within the mysql commandline I get the proper result. So my question is why when running this in the command line do I get the proper result but when running the code I do not?

    Hi. The problem is clear in the original post. The OP is trying to use PreparedStatement
    parameters to fill out general portions of the SQL query, instead of only data values.
    He is hoping to put in a column name. That will never work. Only data values are settable.
    HTH,
    Joe WeinsteinActually, no. There's no PreparedStatement there at all. It appears that his problem is that, while the working query entered directly in the client is
    Select * from employee where FirstName = 'anthony'the query he's constructing in his code is
    Select * from employee where FirstName = anthonySince there are no quotes around anthony, it's treated as a column name.
    If he had properly used PreparedStatment as suggested in reply 1, that would not be an issue. My guess, however, is that when he claims he's using PS, it's as Tolls suggested a couple of posts ago--he's simply replacing the Statement with a PreparedStatement, but not using the parameters as suggested.
    The wrong thing for OP to do at this point is see my above comment about the quotes and explicitly add them in the query string. The right thing to do, of course, is to actually use PS's parameters.

  • How do I remove a row from the database?

    Guys and Gals,
    I'm using Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.3.0.
    The code below will delete a row from my table, but how do I actually delete the row from the database as well?
        DCBindingContainer dcbc = (DCBindingContainer)getBindings();
        DCIteratorBinding dcib = dcbc.findIteratorBinding("TipsSelectorIterator");
        dcib.removeCurrentRow();
        BindingContainer bindings = getBindings();
        OperationBinding operationBinding = bindings.getOperationBinding("Commit");
        Object result = operationBinding.execute();
        AdfFacesContext adffacesctx = AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
        adffacesctx.addPartialTarget(this.getQueryTable()); In this post, I believe Frank sums up what I should do: Remove row from af:table
    >
    The problem in your case is that this removes the row from the iterator but not your business service. EJB exposes explicit methods to remove an entity. A method lime removeEmployees(employee) >expsed on the EJB model must be called.
    You can drag and drop the "removeEmployees" method then as a button to your page. Rename the text label to "Remove" or "Delete". In the opened dialog box, point the method argument to the >following EL #{bindings.iteratorName.currentRow.dataProvider}. Next time you press the button, the row is deleted from the iterator and the business service
    Huh? So to delete the row, I need to expose a method. But where? Do I do this in the AppModuleImpl so I can expose it to the Client Interface? But then how do I access entities? And what data type is the #{bindings.iteratorName.currentRow.dataProvider}?
    If anyone could point me in a general direction, it'd be great.

    Frank and Shay,
    Thank you both for your posts. I'm amazed there's such a great place to get help. Between the forums, ADF code corner, Not Yet Documented ADF Samples, various blogs and tutorials, it's obvious you guys really care about what you do.
    On my example, that approach doesn't seem to work. I tried following it like so in one of the video tutorials by Shay: http://blogs.oracle.com/shay/2010/04/doing_two_declarative_operatio.html. Following Shay's approach, in my particular case, deletes only from the table. Perhaps it is due to my iterator / collection setup?
    TipsSelector (1 to 1) -> TipsView (1 to *)-> DependentBom -(1 to * Recursive)> RecursiveBom
    TipsSelector references the same View Object as TipsView, but it is set as a 1 to 1 relationship so that I can show TipsView on the page one record at a time. This is the same setup as Tuhra2's hierarchy veiwer example. TipsView / DependentBom is a classic parent / child setup. RecursiveBom is DependentBom referencing itself. Think of it as departments within departments within departments etc...
    I have dragged TipsSelector's Named Criteria (All Queriable Attributes) onto my page and created an ADF Query with Table. A remove button on the table's toolbar calls the two actions, Delete (from TipsSelector's iterator) and then Commit. I have modified the code slightly from my previous post but the end result seems to be the same.
        BindingContainer bindings = getBindings();
        OperationBinding operationBinding = bindings.getOperationBinding("Delete");
        operationBinding.execute();
        bindings = getBindings();
        operationBinding = bindings.getOperationBinding("Commit");
        operationBinding.execute();
        AdfFacesContext adffacesctx = AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
        adffacesctx.addPartialTarget(this.getQueryTable());Page Def file
        <action id="Commit" InstanceName="AppModuleDataControl"
                DataControl="AppModuleDataControl" RequiresUpdateModel="true"
                Action="commitTransaction"/>
        <action IterBinding="TipsSelectorIterator" id="Delete"
                InstanceName="AppModuleDataControl.TipsSelector"
                DataControl="AppModuleDataControl" RequiresUpdateModel="false"
                Action="removeCurrentRow"/>On ppr of the query table, the row is gone. However, when I press the Search button on the query again, the record reappears.
    This is beyond me. Am I somehow deleting from the query results but not the database?

  • Deleting a row from a database...

    Here is the method I am calling to delete a row from a database. I keep getting this error, but I am not sure why.
    Error: "Too few parameters. Expected 1."
    //To delete a row
      public void removeRow(String x, String y) {
       try {
       Statement stmt = con.createStatement();

    //first is a string and second is a number
       String query = "DELETE * FROM table WHERE first = '" +x+ "' AND " +
       "second = " +Integer.parseInt(y);
       int result = stmt.executeUpdate(query); //runs delete query, ERROR HERE *************
       System.out.println("Test"); //debug statement, never gets here
       //deletion confirmation message
       JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null, "Row deleted",
       "Delete Reservation", JOptionPane.INFORMATION_MESSAGE);
          catch (Exception e) { System.out.println(e); }

    Additionally, in the future you might want to use:
    catch(SQLException sqlx) {
      System.out.println( sqlx.getSQLState()
                                       +"\t"+sqlx.getMessage()
                                       +"\t"+sqlx.getErrorCode() );... It'll help with diagnostics.

  • How to view data in tables by selecting the synonym from the database objec

    I could not figure out how to view data in tables by selecting the synonym from the database objects navigation tree. I had to first choose the synonym, view the details of the synonym to determine the table name, and then select the table from the database objects tree. Is this the only way available?

    This functionality currently does not exist. I don't see it on the 1.1 statement of direction either, so perhaps someone from Oracle can give some insight as to when this could be expected.

    Even if i get the result set into the cursor, do i have to do normal fetch into all the coumn variables within a loop
    But suppose no of columns in my result set varies depending on a parameter to the stored procedure.
    Is there any straightforward way to retrieve all the data irrespective of no of columns in the result set.There is no such thing as a "+result set+". Oracle does not create a temporary data set in memory that contains the results of your query. What would happen if this result set is a million rows and is too large to fit into memory? Or there are a 100 clients each with a 100,000 row result set?
    This is not scalable. You will be severely limited in the number and sizes of these "+result sets+" that can be created in server memory.
    A cursor is in fact a "program" that is created by compiling the SQL source code that you provide. This source code is parsed and compiled into what Oracle calls an execution plan. This is nothing but a series of instructions that the cursor will execute in order to return the rows required.
    Thus the result set is actually the output from a cursor (a program). Likewise, bind variables are the input parameters to this program.
    All SQLs are parsed and compiled as cursors and stored in the SQL Shared Pool. Oracle gives you handle in return to use to address this cursor - bind values to it, execute it, describe the output structure returned by the cursor, and fetch the output from the cursor.
    On the client side, this handle is used in different ways. In PL/SQL alone, this cursor handle can be used as an implicit cursor (you do not even see or use the cursor handle in your PL/SQL code). Or you can use a PL/SQL cursor variable. Or a DBMS_SQL cursor variable. Or a reference cursor variable.
    Why so many different client structures for the very same SQL cursor handle returned by Oracle? Because to allow you, the programmer, all kinds of different features and flexibility.
    The ref cursor feature is the ability to pass this cursor handle around, not only between PL/SQL code, but also from PL/SQL to the actual client process (Java. VB, SQL*Plus, TOAD, etc).
    The primary thing to remember - irrespective of what the client calls this (e.g. ref cursor, SQL statement handle, etc), this all refers to the same SQL cursor in the Shared Pool. And that this SQL cursor is a program that outputs data, and not a result set in itself.

    hi
    is it possible to import azure table storage data to On prem Sql database ?

    Hi
    You cannot do it directly from SQL or Azure Storage Explorer.
    But you can have a little application that extracts your table storage data into some CSV file like this:
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/jmstall/archive/2012/08/03/converting-between-azure-tables-and-csv.aspx
    And then import the CSV file that you generate into your on-prem sql database

  • Rules file lodas only every 2nd row from .txt source

    I have prepared a nice rules file, now deployed on the live
    server. when I copy it over to my dev it stops working because
    it loads only every SECOND row from my .txt source.
    Any ideas why that might happen? (I have no rejects specified)

    I wonder, are the live server and the dev server the same operating system? My first thought (and I have not tested) is that perhaps the line terminator in the data file is causing the every other line load?

  • Assign locals from SQL-database

    How to assign locals from SQL-database and how to use locals in SQL-statement.

    There's a shipping example called WritingAndReadingTableData.seq (in v2.0 anyway) that should help. In the example, a Data Operation of Get, reads a column value and writes it to a local variable. You can insert a local variable into the SQL statement that you create in the Open SQL Statement step type. In the above example, there's the statement
    "SELECT TEST_TABLE.COL_COUNTER, TEST_TABLE.COL_STRING, TEST_TABLE.COL_INTEGER, TEST_TABLE.COL_DOUBLE, TEST_TABLE.COL_CURRENCY, TEST_TABLE.COL_BOOLEAN, TEST_TABLE.COL_DATE FROM TEST_TABLE"
    If you had a local variable called TableName and value of "TEST_TABLE" assinged to it, the statement could just as easily be
    "SELECT TEST_TABLE.COL_COUNTER, TEST_TABLE.COL_STRING, TEST_TABLE.COL_INTEGER, TEST_TABLE.COL_DOUB
    LE, TEST_TABLE.COL_CURRENCY, TEST_TABLE.COL_BOOLEAN, TEST_TABLE.COL_DATE FROM " + locals.TableName

  • Can we extract blob objects from sql database to a human readable format?

    Hi All,
    I have question How can we extract
    blob objects from Sql database to human readable format ?
    Blob includes Images, text and docs.
    Thanks
    Moug
    Best Regards Moug

    One thing you can do if its sql 2012 or later is to load the blob data to FileTable created in database. Then you would be able to physically browse to directory it points and see all files in its native format.
