Table storing the descriptions of Bex Queries

Hi Experts,
Can you pl give me the table name which stores the descriptions of Bex Quries in BI 7.0.
Thanks & Regards ::
Balaji T

Hi Balaji,
RSZELTTXT is the table where we can find the description of the queries and all query elements. before using this we have to find out the query ID in  RSRREPDIR by inputting query technical name.
The first field in RSRREPDIT is id of the query, if we use this id field value in RSZELTTXT we can find the description of the queries in this.
Thanks,
Sathish.

  • Which table stored  description for field name

    hi,
    for example,
field name is  LIFNR , description (vendor number),
which table stored this description (vendor number)  for that field name(LIFNR) ?

    1. From table DD03L, give your tablename and get all of its field names and corresponding data element names.
    2. From table DD03T, get the description of each data element you have got in step 1.
    3. Then Use Function Module DDIF_FIELDINFO_GET
DD02L : ALL SAP TABLE NAMES
DD02T : DESCRIPTION OF TABLE NAMES
    DD03L : FIELDS IN A TABLE.
Check the below link for more information.

  • Text variable to be removed from the description on Roles in Bex Analyzer

    Dear Experts,
I am using BI 7.0. I have text variables in the query description. When the queries are assigned in Roles, they are displayed alongwith the text variable. I need to change the description of the query only in Roles. I am successful in doing this change on portal. But, in Bex Analyzer, I tried changing the description of these queries in Roles, but still they are not changed. Strangely, I can see the new descriptions in Roles when executed through RSRT.
Can anyone please help me in resolving my issue.
    Thanking you in advance,
    Best Regards,
    Pradnya Rane

    Hi Parth,
Yes, I mean in 'Open Query' option. This is working in BEx 3.5, but not in 7.0.
Is this some missing functionality in BI 7.0?

  • BEx queries - one or more SQL statements generated?

Iu2019m a BusinessObjects man and BEx is new to meu2026When you execute a BEx query against a cube u2013 how does BEx manage that query and what gets send to the backend DB (e.g. Oracle)?
I understand the cube is one table in Oracle?, but other tables (dimensions?) will also be needed to return all the data for a given report/query.
Does BEx pass that as one query to Oracle, or is it performed as separate queries, with BEx pulling the result sets together?

    Hi Durgesh, Susan
Thank you to both of you for your response to Ed on this thread.  The background to these questions on how SQL statements are generated from BEx queries that we are working with Ed in a project to test the capability of accelerating the performance of BEx queries via the following process described below. (Please excuse any terminology errors as like  I do not have a background in SAP):
    1. Export fact table InfoObjects relevant to queries for InfoCubes to be accelerated by defining as Open Hub destinations, creating mappings and a data transfer process. Trigger export from SAP BI via a Process Chain and then load data to external database via ETL tool.  Master data (dimension tables) remain in SAP BI
This step was completed successfully, including exporting of data.
    2. Create a Universal Data Connect (UDC) source system to map to the exported fact tables.
    3. Create a virtual provider mapping to the UDC source defined in step 2 to enable access to external table via JDBC.
    4. Execute BEx report, selecting the query properties 'Cache inactive' and 'Reading all data at once', specifying restrictions (variables) in the report which would result in a small subset of data being returned from the fact table if applied in the SQL passed to the external database.
We hoped that SAP BI would push down predicates which could be applied to the fact table into the SQL sent to the external database via the virtual provider, but instead an SQL query selecting all columns with no WHERE clause was generated with the result that a 36 million row results set was sent across a network to join with dimension data, rather than a few rows.
Is this how SAP BI works in version 7.0 or are there configuration options which can change this behaviour?  Is so, if all tables (including master data (dimensions) were exported to external database would SAP BI then transmit the database queries as joins to the external database?
Sorry this was a bit long, and thank you in advance for any advice you can give.
    Stuart.

  • Use Compression when Storing the Workbook

    Hello expert:
what does it mean for "Use Compression when Storing the Workbook"  in Bex analyzer?
    Many Thanks.

    Hello,
Set this indicator if your workbook includes a large amount of information and metadata and you want to reduce the space required by your workbook by compressing the data in the workbook when you save it.
You can use this option if, for example, you are working in formula mode and want to view the data in your result set without having to connect to the server (Provide Results Offline). To do this, you must first save the result set in the workbook. If you do not do this, the data is not available in the cells the next time you open the workbook; only the formulas are displayed.
    Hope this will help you
    Kind Regards

  • How to come to know that the BEx queries created in whether in 3.X or 7.X

    Hi Friends,
How to come to know that the BEx queries created whether in 3.X or 7.X.
Some queries created in 3.X and some in 7.X in my system. How to know that the query created in which version. Where we can find such information.
It might be smaal isue for you. I searched the form but i haven't got information which i am looking for.
    Thanks &Regards,
    Revathi

    Hi Revathi,
Just check if the below can help you.
    You can use table RSZCOMPDIR
Enter Query Technical Name in field COMPID
Field VERSION in the Table RSZCOMPDIR can tell you the version.
if the value is below 100 then Query is in 3.x versionu2026
If Greater Than 100 means, it is already Migrated to higher version which is 7.X
    Hope it helps,

  • Reading the description of Sales document type and Profit centre from table

    Hi
I want to print the description of Sales document type and Profit center on output
I have checked in table TVAK and CEPC  but i am unable to pick description against the code
Can anyone please suggest from where can i capture the description of sales document type and profit centre
    Thanks and Regards
    Sunil Srinivasan

    Hi
If you have the sales document number VBELN then pass this VBELN in to table VBAK and you can get the sales document type VBAK-AUART.
Now pass the same VBELN to VBAP table here you can get the Profit Center VBAP-PRCTR
For sales Document type description you pass the VBAK-AUART values into table TVAKT  table and get the values for TVAKT-BEZEI is you sales document type description
For Profit center description goto table CEPCT and enter the profit center you will get the
    KTEXT
    LTEXT
    MCTXT

  • HR: Tables stored in the subarea of a cluster

    Hi All,
I would like to know the name of the tables stored in the subarea of a cluster. E.g. The tables stored in RX subarea of cluster PCL2.
Will it be possible for me to get the details from the include RPCnxy00, where n - cluster number and xy- subarea in the cluster? Is there any other way of doing it?
    Thank you,
    Jayaprakash

    Hallo Jayaprakash,
you could have a look at the function module PYXX_RESOLVE_RESULT_STRUCTURE. This will help with payroll cluster structures but don't forget that it's payroll specific.
The method you suggest is a good start but unfortunately the RPCnxy00 "convention" is not one that was always strictly adhered to. It will generally work but not always. It would probably be safer to look at the import / export macros since all the tables and strings will be contained there.
    I hope this helps.
    Regards, Gerard.
