Table views as data source to imported in OBIEE

I have a data source that consist of tables view and packages and function and I needed to import them into OBIEE physical layer. I never imported tables view into the physical layer , so I will like some help. As far as the packages and functions, how do you deal with them when importing the tables view in OBIEE?

To import a view follow nexts steps on administration tool:
- File -> import -> from database
- Select correct connection type (at the same way when you import a table).
- Enter correct user and password.
- Go to correct schema which contain data base elements.
- Select check box "Views". Now it will appear views created in that schema.

SQL LOADER , EXTERNAL TABLE and ODBS DATA SOURCE

Can any body help loading data from dbase file .dbt to an oracle 10g table.
I tried last day with SQL LOADER, EXTERNAL table , and ODBC data source.
Why all of these utilities still failing to solve my problem ?
Is there an efficient way to reach this goal ?

export the dbase data file to text file,
then you have choice of using either sql loader or external table option to use.

Data View and Data Source buttons Greyed out

I have Site Admin permissions on an On Prem SharePoint 2013 site.
In SharePoint Designer 2013 the Data View and Data Source buttons are greyed out.
Can anyone shed some light as to why this is occurring?

Could you provide a screenshot about the location you want to insert the Data View web part and Data Source?
I think you may put the mouse cursor in the incorrect place to add the data view web part, please try putting the cursor before the tag </ZoneTemplate> and see if "Data View" button is enabled, then you can insert an empty
dataview web part and then insert the data source in tag <DataSources> by clicking ribbon button "Data Source" (also click the ribbon button "Parse HTML" of the page if needed).

Hi Pooja,
U can get the same from LBWE t-Code.. where for ur Extractor.. look at the Maintain Extractor Structure.
If u click that u wil get the Extract Structure.. where u can see the Communication Filed names which starts with MC<Table Name> - <Field Name>...... for every field in ur data source u can see the corresponding the table entry.

Error while filling set up tables for 2LIS_11 data sources

I tried to fill setup tables for 2LIS_11 data sources in OLI7BW , but the job RMCVENUA is getting cancelled. below is the Job Log ,

Is there any setting required in R3 side before filling setup tables of SD ?
I am able to fill the setup tables for 2LIS_05 ( Notifications) successfully.

Hi,
one of the sales document currencies is not maintained properly in the system and therefore its failing.
you need to correct those documents before filling the set up tables.
Either you can chose the option fault document toleration limit to 1000...so that 1000 records wrong records can be tolerated or you have to crrect it first before filling up the set up tables.
This will generally happen in test systems.... but very rare in production...so try to maintain currrency again in the system.
generally you will see the sales doc number in the error for which its failing.
May be at the time of filling some óne was working on some sales document and tried it save it.
correct that doc and fill the set up tables again.

Web Analysis : populate the same table with multiple data sources

Hi folks,
I would like to know if it is possible to populate a table with multiple data sources.
For instance, I'd like to create a table with 3 columns : Entity, Customer and AvgCostPerCust.
Entity and Customer come from one Essbase, AvgCostPerCust comes from HFM.
The objective is to get a calculated member which is Customer * AvgCostPerCust.
Any ideas ?

the bursting level should be give at
File 1 - Store 2 - Query A + Store 2 - Query B
so the tag in the xml has to be split by common to these three rows.
since the data is coming from the diff query, and the data is not going to be under single tag.
you cannot burst it using concatenated data source.
But you can do it, using the datatemplate, and link the query and get the data for each file under a single query,
select distinct store_name from all-stores
select * from query1 where store name = :store_name === 1st query
select * from query2 where store name = :store_name === 2nd query
define the datastructure the way you wanted,
the xml will contain something like this
<stores>
<store> </store> - for store 2
<store> </store> - for store 3
<store> </store> - for store 4
<store> </store> - for store 5
<stores>
now you can burst it at store level.

How do I reference multiple tables in SSAS Data Source View Named Calculation functionality?

Hi SSASers -
On the Data Source View node of SSAS Visual Studio Interface, I want to create a named calculation that references multiple tables. Something like: CASE WHEN tableA.Column1 = 'Y' Then tableB.Column1 ELSE tableB.Column2 End, but the compiler throws an error
here "Deferred prepare could not be completed".
What is the syntax for referencing multiple tables on this node or how else can multiple tables be used to create a calculated value in SSAS? I'm new to SSAS and so far have been building big views and building calculations this way. Another option is the
Calculation tab off the cube node but this calculation will need to be based off of dimensions AND measures so please provide a syntax example here also.

Thanks Jiri! The named query functionality off the Data Source View node is exactly what I was looking for - it's just a view on the SSAS side of things instead of the relational dbase.

I have a table view set up where files are selected from a path and placed into the table and reordering. This works fine. However, I need to now perform other tasks on those files (in the order that they now exist in the table) and I don't know how to reference and call data source. Part of my script:

Joining multiple tables across multiple data sources in MYSQL throws error

I have to join tables across multiples MYSQL databases
eg :
Table T1,T2 from DB1
Table T3 from DB2
Columns from T3 are aggregated ( dimensional column ).
Hence when i query using oracle answers ( say i have columns from T1,T2 and T3 ) , OBIEE tries to a query DB1 by having NULL for columns in T3
It uses cast(NULL as INTEGER ) for columns from T3 . But MYSQL throws an error because "cast(NULL as INTEGER )" is not supported by MYSQL.
I tried executing the query generated by OBIEE manually , if i try giving cast(NULL as SIGNED INTEGER ) , it works.
pasting the query for reference

I am not able to find any config file to set this property ( and use signed integer instead of integer ) . Even DBFeatures.INI does not have relevant information.

Thank you for the article link. That was very helpful! It seems that I had a few things off as you do need the "This source should be combined with other sources at this level." checked. In my two table source columns for DATA_SOURCE I defined a literal ('086496' and '085597' for the other) in the Column Mapping tab. I pasted the following in the Fragmentation content, checking the "This source..." box on the Content tab:
eSIS.SANDBOX4_SCHOOLS.DATA_SOURCE = '086496'
And pasted the following into the WHERE clause, checking "Select distinct values" on the Content tab:
sandbox4."".OBIEE.NWOCA_SCHOOLS.SCHOOL_CODE = VALUEOF(NQ_SESSION."SCHOOL") AND sandbox4."".OBIEE.NWOCA_SCHOOLS.DATA_SOURCE = VALUEOF(NQ_SESSION."GROUP")
This took care of my user's security, utilizing the session variables in the WHERE clause. I am now able to generate reports that only one user can access from one data source and share that same report with another user who can only see data from the other data source.

How to copy tables between diff data source ?

if copy tables in same datasource, the problem is easy , just
CREATE TABLE DESTDB.TABLE as select * from SOURCEDB.TABLE
but in diff data source, such as copy access table to a non-exsit oracle table,
need to create the target table first . my problem is how to create the target table by source table structure. though the source table structure can be read out, but parse it and make the SQL statement to create the table is a tough job.

You are explaining a huge topic in simple terms.
You are trying to do Database Migration from MS-Access to Oracle. It's not all that easy. But if you are restricting to creating few tables then, do a small exercise.
1. Use ResultSetMetaData to get the no of coluns and their data types.
2. Construct a create statement by using above information.
3. Then query the table1 for all the records and insert those records into created table.

SAP GRC 10.1 AMF No data selected when adding duplicate fields from separate tables for configurable data sources

Hi There,
In SAP GRC 10.0, our team had an issue where we could not add duplicate fields from separate table (see ERROR: Select Currency/UoM field for the selected analyzed fields). This was resolved by the SAP Note 1904313/ 1904314 (http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1904313).
We upgraded our system to SAP GRC 10.1 SP05 and could now add the duplicate fields from separate tables. SAP Note 1904313/ 1904314 was part of SAP GRC 10.1 SP03 so it makes sense that we, in a higher version (SP05), would be able to do this.
The issue now is when we add the duplicate fields from different tables and run the Ad-hoc Query to test if the data source works correctly, the No Data Selected warning persists. This means that the data source provides no data for analysis, which is required to write our business rules.
Below is an example:
Basic data source with just one currency reference field EBAN-WAERS.
When you run the Ad-Hoc Query you receive data.
Basic data source with second currency reference field EKKO-WAERS.
When you run the Ad-Hoc Query no data is found.
Please also make reference to the following thread logged by my colleague (ERROR: Select Currency/UoM field for the selected analyzed fields)
Any assistance to receive data with duplicate fields from separate tables will be highly appreciated.
