Tables and lists and maintenance

I've looked through the CS3 Bible and still can't see any way
to handle a very simple problem. I want a table on my web page
which will contain 3 columns and multiple rows. I simply want to
put a name in each cell. Since the list of name is long I don't
want one column to contain all the names. The names are maintained
outside of DW and in sorted order. It really doesn't matter if the
names are loaded in row order, such as the first three names go
into the first row and the fourth, fifth and sixth names go into
the second row, and so on. Or, the first fifty names go in to the
first column and then the next fifty go into the second column and
the last forty-nine names go into the third column. How do I
re-seed the table when the list of names changes. One name drops
out for instance or a new name is added? It doesn't seem to me to
be amenable to Spry or any form usage. What would be the best way
to accomplish this? I can't find any relevent information regarding
this type of table filling so I'll end up with approximately three
equal columns, although one or two of the columns might be one cell
longer. What have I overlooked?

The names are
> maintained outside of DW and in sorted order.
How is the content stored outside DW? In a database
(preferably) or Excel
spreadsheet or some other method?

One option:
Connect the page to a database and use Tom Muck's Horizontal
Looper Repeat
Region extension to pull the names from the database and
display the names
on the webpage in the format that you want.

  • List of SQL tables and attributes used in SSRS reports

    Hi,
I have around 450-500 reports deployed in SSRS reporting server.
All these reports are built on SQL from multiple databases, and these databases are having unnecessary tables and attributes.
My requirement is to clean the unused tables and attributes from the databases. For this, I need the list of SQL tables and attributes used in these 450-500 SSRS reports.
Is there any way to get this data?
    Regards,
    RK

    Hi RK,
According to your description, you want to get a list of the tables and attributes used in all reports.
In your scenario, you can query the ReportServer.dbo.Catalog table to get Report name, data source name, dataset name, and query used in the dataset with query below:
    WITH XMLNAMESPACES ( DEFAULT 'http://schemas.microsoft.com/sqlserver/reporting/2010/01/reportdefinition', 'http://schemas.microsoft.com/SQLServer/reporting/reportdesigner' AS rd )
    SELECT ReportName = name
    ,DataSetName = x.value('(@Name)[1]', 'VARCHAR(250)')
    ,DataSourceName = x.value('(Query/DataSourceName)[1]','VARCHAR(250)')
    ,CommandText = x.value('(Query/CommandText)[1]','VARCHAR(250)')
    ,Fields = df.value('(@Name)[1]','VARCHAR(250)')
    ,DataField = df.value('(DataField)[1]','VARCHAR(250)')
    ,DataType = df.value('(rd:TypeName)[1]','VARCHAR(250)')
    --,ConnectionString = x.value('(ConnectionProperties/ConnectString)[1]','VARCHAR(250)')
FROM ( SELECT C.Name,CONVERT(XML,CONVERT(VARBINARY(MAX),C.Content)) AS reportXML
    FROM ReportServer.dbo.Catalog C
    WHERE C.Content is not null
    AND C.Type = 2
    ) a
    CROSS APPLY reportXML.nodes('/Report/DataSets/DataSet') r ( x )
    CROSS APPLY x.nodes('Fields/Field') f(df)
    ORDER BY name

  • Extract list of tables and columns in a Form ?

Hi, Is it possible to extract all the table names and its column names used in a Form? I just need a list of all the tables and its columns, does Oracle Forms has a tool inbuilt extract such list (metadata like)
    Thanks, Aj.

Arun, Thank you for your reply. I learned a new thing today. I do wish Oracle comes up with an inbuilt utility to identify its Objects (tables used and their columns). My current task is a little small then parsing the XML but I did try the command and its works and will use it in the future. Regards, Aj

  • How to sort/filter tables and lists like in Excel?

    Hi.
I used to keep track of my expenses in Excel and had a nice table or list (I forget what it's officially called) with a header row where when I clicked on the header of a particular column it would let me sort and filter- for example, I have a column called "category" and I could click on the header for that column and select a filter so that I only saw travel expenses and then the sum below would only reflect how much I spent on travel. I could also click on the "date" column header and "sort ascending" to put everything in chronological order. That was awesome.
I got a new mac and thought I could keep updating and using this file in Numbers and wouldn't have to buy MS Office. But when I opened the file and saved it as a numbers file, I find that I've lost the ability to sort or filter. The cell at the bottom that has the SUM still works but the header row does nothing. I've seen some other threads about this but I don't really understand them so please forgive me if this is repetitive. Someone suggested hovering the cursor over a column header and a triangle pops up- that is not happening- I think that's in an old version of Numbers. How can I do those things I listed above- sort and filter my entire table? Right now I can only see the total sum of everything in the table but I often need to just add up one category of expenses.
I don't really know all the math stuff, like formulas. My brain has trouble following that stuff. It was so simple in Excel. Is there anyway to get my header row back to how it was in Excel? If not, if you are able to guide me through some more complicated way to do it I would really appreciate it and I hope I can follow it.
    Thank you for your time.

I want to understand how to make the sum cell only show the total of visible rows...
I don't think you can do that directly.  SUM will include hidden rows. But you can use SUMIF and SUMIFS.
    An example using SUMIF:
    An example using SUMIFS:
Instead of putting SUMIF and SUMIFS in a separate summary table, you could also put them in Footer Rows of your data table.

  • About the Names of std Tables  and their list of contents

    Hi  every body ,
can u pls give me Source of  finding the  list of standard tables and their contents
such  that  i can refer to  those tables to determine  what should be the Mandatory  data elements .
i need just 2 determine   what  is  required  and  what not ?
Awaiting for a  brighter and good response .....
    reply to  [email protected]

    Hi,
Search for SAP Tables in www.sap-img.com. You will find a Zip file, this has most of the tables used in most of the modules. Check those tables and find which are all the primary fields.

  • List of unused tables and procedures

    Hi,
I am in the task of clean up of tables.
I need to find the list unused tables and procedures.
Is there any way where i can find when was the last time the table queried?
Also, Can you please give sql query to find the list of unused tables and procedures.
    Appreciate your response.
    Thanks...

There is not a definitive way to complete this task. This becomes especially complicated if you have SQL / PL/SQL embedded in your applications external to the database. You could start looking at DBA_DEPENDENCIES, and that will at least give you a start to identifying objects that might not be used in the database.
Another possibility is implementing auditing on suspected objects to see if there is any activity. You'll need to determine though if you have any business processes that have a long cycle (quarter, annually, etc) to ensure you aren't dropping an object that is actually used.

  • Is it planned to add feature for creating tables and lists in Adobe Edge Reflow?

First of all, thank you very much guys for all your work!
In my opinion Adobe Edge Reflow is missing quite important features, like creating tables and lists. For me it's a reason why I can't switch to Reflow. Any plans for implementing these? Is there any place where I can see the list of planned feature implementation? Didn't find it.

Missing tables is a big one for me too, especially when doing data-grids. My last prototype was using multiple responsive data-grids where I used the simpler essential/optional hide column approach, instead of stacking or scrolling the data. I had used Reflow in the past for basic content prototypes... but had to do this one by hand... took longer. Using divs for this did not collapse properly in all the browsers, plus the back-end team use widgets that only generate tables. Here is the example:

  • Creating Customized Table and Modify Table Maintenance Screen

    Hi,
I have already created customized table and generate the table maintenance screen, however i encountered 1 problem which is i cannot add new PAI and PBO module in the flow logic. Every time i wanna add new module, i will be getting error message saying that my user currently editing the screen. Any suggestion ?
    Thanks.
    Jon

    Hi <b>Jonathan</b>,
Please close all the windows and relogin
For making PAI and PBO modules, Please activate all the Table and its maintainence view.
Now first make emptu file with <main filename>_PAI and <main filename>_PBO save and activate them.
Now put the logic in them and then activate now call these in the main prog.. it should work...
While activation all the sub program modules should be activated already... i suggest select all the prog and sub progs and activate them all at once...so the system automatically takes care of inner activations first...
If u have some more quereies... please feel free to contact me...

  • TextFormatter in list, table and tree cells

Release 8u40 introduces the TextFormatter concept in the text input field area. It is currently a new property of the TextInputControl class.
This is defintely a more elegant way to deal with validation than overriding "replaceText(...)".
Shouldn't this property also be available in list, table and tree cells ?
Are there plans to do this (before we make our own implementation) ?

I've got exactly the same problem, +1.
This shouldn't be to difficult to solve for 8u60 and definitely useful,
giving access to the text input control in mutable cells could be a one-line workaround !
Additionally, could a TextFormatter be made shareable between table/list rows
by NOT using the value/valueConverter properties, but only the filter part in cases
where the final desired output type is String ?

  • Getting a list of all table and index names

    Hi,
I have just create a set of tables and indexs, but I have misspelt on of the table names and am now trying to find out what it is. I am using sql*plus as a command line interface but can only find desc as a way of finding any data on a table. What is the command to list all the tables within a table space?
    Cheers
    Simon

    Hi,
there are almost always three ways to find things in Oracle's dictionary :
USER_xxx = thing that you own
ALL_xxx = thing that you own and have access to
DBA_xxx = all things in hole database
If you want to find tables/indexes that you own :
    SELECT table_name FROM user_tables
    WHERE tablespace_name = 'APP_TBS';
    SELECT index_name FROM user_indexes
    WHERE tablespace_name = 'APP_TBS';

  • List tables and column names a stored procedure is querying

    Hello,
Is there a way to list tables and column names that a stored procedure is querying, i.e, selecting from, using T-SQL?  If yes, is there a way to also show data types for the columns that a stored procedure is querying, i.e, selecting from?
    Thank you,
    Lenfinkel

One way to view the dependencies of an object is to use SSMS; navigate to the object, right click and select "view dependencies".  However this does not tell you what columns are being referenced by the Stored Procedure.
One way to view what is being referenced by a stored procedure is to run something like
    select
    text
    from syscomments
    where
    id in
    (select id
    from sysobjects
    where
    name
    =[Your Object Name]
    And xtype
    in
    ('p','P')

  • How to get list of block identifiers in a empty table and an empty index

We have an application that has issue with ITL waits: this application is running many INSERT statements on a table that has 2 NUMBER columns and one primary key index. The application is designed to run INSERT statements but they are never committed (this is a software package).
To check what are the really allocated ITL slots, I know that I can dump data block but I don't know how to get the block identifiers/numbers for an "empty" table and an "empty" index. Does someone knows how to do that ?
PS: I already had a look to the Metalink notes and I have a Metalink SR for that but maybe OTN forum is faster ?

You should be able to find the first data/index block with the following, even on an empty table/index.
    select header_file, header_block +1
    from dba_segments
    where segment_name = '<index or table name>';

  • How to pass the JCO Table and Structure in a collection List to frontEnd

    hi,
I have a BAPI which is returns me a Table and a structure. As i have used JCO I will receive it in JCO Table and JCO Structure. Now the question is that how I should pass both these of these using a collection to the frontend for displaying the data from it.
    Thanks' & Regards,
    Samir

    Hi Samir,
As you are trying to pass the Table and the Structure in the form of collection to the JSP page, you can create a javabean with the structure similar to that of the table/Structure.
Lets assume you have a table called Employee with Emp_Name, Emp_Age, Emp_Sal as three columns, create a java class by name Employee which implements Serializable and attributes as Emp_Name, Emp_Age and Emp_Sal. Generate the setters and getters for the same. In your EJB code, create an instance of this Employee class and set the attributes and save it in a HashMap in the form of key value pair, Value being your Employee class instance and key be your Employee Name. Return the HashMap in your EJB code.
Use the HashMap in your JSP. Get the Iterator for the HashMap and Loop through the keys to get the values.
    Hope this helps.
