Tabular form. No data displayed

Hi everybody,
I have a tabular form which uses application items to query data. User enters the page from the first page that contains calendar by clicking on any date. If the date has any records assigned to it, the tabular form shows them for view/editing/delete. If no data found, it displays "No data found" message.
I start a new session and get to the tabular form page by clicking on the date without any records. Then, when I return to the first page (calendar) and click on the date that has records assigned, the tabular form doesn't show any records. What is really weird, is that it even doesn't show "No data found" message. I see only the form header with column names.
In debug I found the following info about the form:
print column headings
rows loop: 0 row(s)
pagination
All page elements, based on the same query are shown successfully, so the query, as well as item values are correct.
Apex version: 4.0.2.00.07
Please, help me to solve the problem!
Elena

Hello everybody,
Just for the information, the issue has been resolved. The problem was in "Add Row" apex process that was used to generate a new row in a tabular form on a page load. As soon as I removed it from the page and created a dynamic action that runs javascript AddRow() function instead, all the records in the report have become visible.
The conclusion: use this process "Add Row" carefully as it can behave in a strange way.
Cheers,
Elena

    Dear Giri,
    As per your Advise, Literally I have Search the Properties for the Components to set value Null, but I am Unable to find the Value in Properties palate. I have tried in various options like
    In the Properties Palate
    TextField1_onselect use Value null
    TextField1_text I have selected use Value option and I have manually Keyed-in null;
    In the JSP Page, I have manually keyed in the null value below said
    <ui:textField binding="#{BI.textField2}" id="textField2" style="position: absolute; left: 240px; top: 96px" text="#{BI.bDataProvider.value['ISSUENO'] = null}"/>
    <ui:textField binding="#{BI.textField2.Value = null }" id="textField2" style="position: absolute; left: 240px; top: 96px" text="#{BI.bDataProvider.value['ISSUENO'] = null}"/>

  • Tabular Form With Dates Is Driving Me Nuts!

    Hello,
    Still new to the world of APEX/HTML-DB, and I'm pulling my hair out with something right now.
    I have a tabular form that is updating a table. I'm pre-populating the date field with a default value of SYSDATE and it's 'Display as Text (Saves State'. It shows fine, but when I submit to the database all the other fields are input EXCEPT my date field which is always blank! The field in the database is set to NOT NULL, and it doesn't give me an error. Where is my date going!?
    The second problem I have is that SYSDATE is in GMT, and I need CST. How can I convert that? I used the to_char(current_date, 'DD-MM-YYYY HH24:MI') but it always gives me an error.
    Any help would be most appreciated, as this is the last thing I need to do to get my simple app up and running.

    Here is an example of my trigger...
    create or replace TRIGGER "bu_MY_ORDER_TABLE"
    before update on "MY_ORDER_TABLE"
    for each row
    begin
    :new.order_date := :old.order_date;
    end;
    -- order_date is a TIMESTAMP(6) set to default of sysdate at table level.
    :>) It works great for me... Bill

  • Tabular form loses data on validation check and new row

    When you add new rows inside a tabular form and you have a validation which troughs out an error then all data inside the new rows are lost.
    Is there any workaround available?

    I forgot to tell:
    Current version of APEX 4.0.2
    I also get this firebug error: uncaught exception: Syntax error, unrecognized expression: #
    Somebody else had this issue before too: APEX 4.0  Tabular Form - Javascript error due to validation
    Is there any workaround available?

    Yeah, you cannot validate on tabular forms so you pretty much have to find work-arounds in order to validate your information. When you create an LOV you can create it with a dynamic query which is the basis for your select list. You can just modify the query in the dynamic query to include a where clause. The where clause could then just state 'where EMP_ID2 <> EMP_ID1'. That way your select list for each row should not have matching values between EMP_ID1 and EMP_ID2. APEX can create the dynamic query for you, you just select the columns you want to base the LOV on, then modify the query after.

  • Forms 6i Data Display Problem

    All:
    I am running Forms 6i on win 2k server. The problem I have is that when trying to display a field that has data longer than the size of the field the data becomes left justified. Meaning by placing the cursor on the field and using back arrow the rest of the data gets displayed.
    Thanks in advance..

    If it is server and DataBase is installed(oracle-sql) is there, You cna't continue Froms and Reports there, Froms and Report can only run on client end and with pc where inatall Oracle Personal Database.

  • Custom tabular form for multi-row not saving data

    Ok, before anyone asks, yes, I did read the how-to:-)
    I have a custom tabular form, which I did cause I need to use popups and the popups that you can use in the wizard tabular form does not display the text but rather the value underneath it.
    It returns data rather nicely and when I go and update values I can tell it is changing the fields underneath. I put a process in that will display the values in text fields on the form (for one row only) and I see them changing from what is already there and with the proper values.
    However, when I do that the data that is displayed then gets reverted back to what it was previous to the update but reports that the process was successful.
    I have also tried to insert but that is basically doing the same thing. Can anyone guide me.

    Florian,
    Checkboxes are different from other HTML form items. When you have a text box for example, there's always a value send to the server when submitting. Even if that value is NULL. When you have a checkbox however, you only get the value if the checkbox is checked. It's not posted to the server when it is not checked. That's the general behavior of HTML forms and not specific to Oracle HTML DB.
    When working with tabular forms in HTML DB, you can access your form values using the htmldb_application.g_f0x arrays. Now if you have for example 10 rows in your form, then you'll get ten elements in your array for text boxes, select lists, etc. For checkboxes however you'll only get as many elements as you have rows checked. If I read your update and insert code correctly, you're trying to use the checkbox arrays the same way you use the arrays based on other item types. My recommendation would be to use Yes/No select lists instead of checkboxes or at least use select lists initially to get it working and then work on properly processing the checkboxes.
    Some general information about working with checkboxes in tabuar forms can be found here:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/htmldb/howtos/checkbox.html#CHECKBOX_IN_REPORT
    Hope this helps,
    Marc

  • Displaying all the records in a tabular form on a single page

    Hello,
    After setting up a data entry page, I have hit an unexpected problem.
    The logic in my page requires that all the records in my tabular form should be displayed .
    The tabular form is based on a collection, and the user selects rows through a checkbox.
    Any reload of the page due to pagination will break the logic, as some calculation and display events occur during page load,
    based on the previous page.
    I need to display about 25 rows.
    I have changed the report attribute to display 50 rows, but it displays rows only up to the bottom of the screen,
    i.e. 11 rows.
    Unfortunately I only just added some new rows and saw this behaviour else I would not have gone that way,
    as I expected APEX to display all rows if required.
    Some help will be much appreciated.
    Regards
    Leckraj

For this change to be instantly visible, either log out, restart the brower, and log in again, or manually re-request the page from the browser address bar, adding 'RP' in the ClearCache position in the URL.

  • Date enable and disable in tabular form

    Hi All,
    i have date column in tabular form.
    when date column contain null value then it is enable to insert date.
    if it is not null then disable to insert date.
    how to achieve it.
    Please give me suggestion.
    Thanks,
    Prashant

    Hi Prashant,
    You have to know the name of the date column field using 'Developer Tool' of the browser (Click F12).
    You can achieve this by Dynamic Action as below,
    Event: Page Load
    Action: Execute JavaScript Code
    Code:
    $('input[name="f06"]').each( function(i) {
    var v_row= $(this).attr("id").substr(4);
      var v_val= $('#f06_'+v_row).val();
        var v_id= $('#f06_'+v_row).attr("id");
       if(v_val=='')
        $x(v_id).readOnly = "readonly";
        $x(v_id).style.background = "#F2F2F5";
       $($('td[headers="HIREDATE"] img')[i]).addClass('apex_disabled');
    Here f06 is the name of the date column i.e. HIREDATE. This code will disable the date column if it is NULL also disable the Calendar popup. Change this code according to your requirement.
    It will help you.
    Thanks

  • How to make a Tabular Form display NO rows until queried

    I have a Tabular Form designed to displays rows according to user selections made in Page Items.
    The Page for this Tabular Form is accessible from 2 origins.
    1. Passes values into the Page Items. (I want all rows to display according to the values passed in)
    2. A tab (Not the Standard Tab Set which allows selection of a values to pass to the page)
    I can accomplish number (1) above,
    But
    Number (2) is the problem.
    In the case of number (2) I don't want any rows displayed until the user selects the "Search" button.
    Can someone help?

    Hi,
    You can make the report region conditional.
    Display the region when
    1) Seach box is not empty
    or
    2) Request = XYZ
    when uses passes the value to page item , make sure it also passes REQUEST as XYZ..

  • Manual tabular form - popup

    I have a couple of problems with the manual tabular form I have created and would appreciate some help,
    First the htmldb_item.popup_from_query is not populating the field when I select the item:
    The query looks something like this:
    Select x.data1,
    x.data2,
    x.data3,
    x.CKS
    From (
    Select htmldb_item.display_and_save(1, data1) data1,
    htmldb_item.text(3, data2, 50) data2,
    htmldb_item.select_list(4,data3,'Yes;Y,No;N') data3
    htmldb_item.md5_checksum(data1,data2, data3) CKS
    FROM my_table
    UNION ALL
    Select htmldb_item.popup_from_query(1, NULL, 'select code || CHR(45) || description descrip, code from PRODUCT_STREAM', 2, 2) data1,
    htmldb_item.text(3, NULL, 50) data2,
    htmldb_item.select_list(4,'N','Yes;Y,No;N')data3,
    htmldb_item.md5_checksum(null,null,null) CKS
    FROM dual
    ) x;
    When this page is run, the existing data is displayed with a blank line at the bottom as expected, it I click on the popup icon a list of codes is displayed, but I cannot click on any of the items to populate the data1 field. If I change the query on the top of the union so the first data1 is also htmldb_item.popup_from_query then it works fine, but data1 cannot (user requirement) be changed by the user, how can I fix this so the popup list works.
    Second thing:
    CKS is showing as another column in the tab form, if I uncheck show it doesn’t work anymore, there us no data showing in the column just the heading, and I can get rid of the text but there is still allocated size for it.

    Why do you have to write the tabular form manually? Why not use the tabular wizard and have the form, including checksums, generated for you? In HTML DB 1.6 you can include options to automatically add new empty rows to your tabular form and have a row selector with delete functionality.
    Neither the manual tabular forms nor the automatically generated tabular forms support mixing display types for columns. Having a display-and-save display type for existing rows and a popup for new rows doesn’t work. All rows, including new ones, have to use the same display type to work properly. If it’s a requirement to have this data1 column be read-only for existing rows, then you need to create a separate form for adding new rows. So e.g. you could have a tabular form only for existing data and an add-row button that takes the user to a data entry form on another page.
    You’re checksum btw shows up in it’s own column because you defined it to be an extra column in your SQL statement. Since it’s just rendering a hidden form field, you could append the checksum to another column:
    htmldb_item.select_list(4,'N','Yes;Y,No;N') ||
    htmldb_item.md5_checksum(null,null,null) data3
    When using manual tabular forms, the column alias names are irrelevant. But again, I’d recommend using the built-in functionality.

    Marc

  • Manual tabular form (Multiple Tabular forms)

    Hi,
    I am using APEX v4.0.
    In my application, I am having a few issues with the generation of a manual tabular form. I need two tabular form on the page so I have created the first using a wizard and the second through the use of a collection using skillbuilders tutorial at http://www.skillbuilders.com/webinars/webinar.cfm/49?title=Manual%20Tabular%20Forms%20in%20Oracle%20APEX:%20A%20Methodology%20that%20Works
    Independently, they work as expected i.e. if I have a condition on the 1st tabular form to never display and only display the 2nd, it works fine and vice versa. However, if I try to try to display them both, I am getting errors.
    When both forms are displayed and I make a change to the form generated by the wizard, I am getting the error 'ORA-01403: no data found'.
    When both forms are displayed and I make a change to the form I generated manually, I am getting the error 'ORA-01722: invalid number'.
    Can someone please suggest where I should be looking as independently they are working fine, but when they are both on the page together, they are not.
    Thanks

    Hi Nicollette,
    I have got a bit further with it now thanks. The wizard form is now working when BOTH forms are displayed. I am still having a few issues with the manual one. When I try to insert a record I am getting:

  • Is it possible to have two rows of text fields per entry in a tabular form?

    Hi,
    I'm constructing a tabular form with several text fields for each entry, and I have just been advised we need twice as many text fields now as the requirements have changed.
    Anyway I am running out of real estate on the page without having to use horizontal scroll bars, and am wondering if it is possible to arrange the text fields into two rows in the tabular form for data entry. I have successfully done this for display as text fields, but not sure if it can be done in this instance.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Mass Update Column In Tabular Form

    Hi,
    I'm trying to create a tabular form that has a mass update column function. i.e. the tabular form will be displayed as normal but at the top of certain columns will be a text box or lov and what ever is entered into those boxes will be cascaded into the empty values in that column without refreshing the page.
    Hope that makes sense.
    I've search the forum but cant find reference, is this possible.
    Thanks Andy

    Hi,
    Just wondering if anyone had any thoughts on this.
    I can get the text to populate another cell e.g.
    http://mlw-mis-2/dev/apex/f?p=174:4
    But how can i get it to reference a column, this is what I'm using to reference another item
    onKeyUp="f_getTextUpper('P4_COL1','P4_TEXT')"
    and I've tried changing the P4_TEXT to other things like
    apex_application.g_f03 (vRow)
    apex_application.g_f03 (i)
    apex_application.g_f03
    But with no luck

  • Using select list as default value in tabular form.

    Hi,
    I am using Application Express 4.1.0.00.32. I have two questions that are related.
    I have a Select item *'P1_SELECT'* and a tabular form My Items.
    Question 1. The My Items tabular form col1 Attributes are set Display As Text Field, and the Tabular Form Attributes are set Default Type = item(application or page item name), Default = P1_SELECT. I have checked the session state value is set on P1_SELECT ie. Fred. What I need to know is, why, when adding a row to the tabular form My Items does col1 not display 'Fred' as the default value from the select item P1_SELECT? I can change col1 of the Tabular form to be Display as Text (save state) and this will work. However that leads me on to:
    Question 2. After adding say 3 rows to the form, I then change the select P1_SELECT value to Bob and Bob is now set in session state on the P1_SELECT item, but when I again add row to the form the value Fred is still the value not Bob. It seems that the tabular form keeps the default value as Fred and not Bob. How can I get this to look or work like:
    col1_
    Fred
    Fred
    Fred
    Bob
    Your help is needed.
    Thanks.

    Do you submit the page or set the value after changing the selection? If not, the display value seems to be Bob but the working value is still Fred. That's what you are seeing right? In the "Settings" section, what do you have for "Page Action when Value Changed". I've been using "Redirect and Set Value" because I was staying on the same page after the selection.
    Additional info which might be helpful (or NOT). ====================
    NOTE: I am just a novice's novice with APEX and I had much agony with Select Lists. It was challenging to have the Select List value displayed because there seem to be so many different sources of the Select List value, namely:
    1) the current value in the session state
    2) the value you can specify in "Source value or expression" in the "Source" section of the Select List item
    3) the value you can specify in the "Post Calculation Compution" in the "Source" section of the Select List item
    4) the value you can specify in the "Default value" of the "Default" section of the Select List item
    [Now, if I've misdescribed any of these, remember, this is from a novice's perspective.]
    It's like putting a clock (back) together. Get any of the pieces wrong and it will probably not work right.
    I had an addiitonal challenge in that I wanted the same Select List displayed on multiple pages and for the currently selected value (from the former page) to already be set on the new page when it was displayed. What fun!
    To see what I did here: http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=43250:101 login Dever/Ima9Dever
    Remember, I'm doing many things you will likely not need to do. I iniitalized the Select List for the first time it displayed. I copied the Select List value from old page to new page by storing it in an application item F217_SYS_NIC_NM.
    Best wishes,
    HowardHi Howard,
    You don't have submit the page for just setting one item's session state. you can use a Dynamic Action OR use Page Items to Submit property if available (this is available in various places such as sql region,chart region etc)
    In context to this question you don't have to do any of those..just see my example above
    Thanks

  • Set value in tabular form field with dynamic action

    Hi Guys,
    I have a dummy field in a tabular form which I am trying to use to populate another field in the tabular form when it is changed.
    In the tabular form I have an ITEM_ID field. Each item_id has an ITEM_NAME which is the dummy field as it is not a field in the database table.
    When the user enters an item name, I would like something like a dynamic action to fire, populating the ITEM_ID.
    e.g User enters part no ABC into the dummy field. When they tab out, I want the value to the item_id field on the tabular form row to be populated based on a SQL query in a similar fashion to how it can be done with dynamic actions on text items on a form.
    I am using APEX v4.0.0
    Thanks in advance
    Chris

    Hello Chris,
    Why can't you use Select List Item on tabular form, which will display all item_names and return item_ids?
    If the list is huge and you need users to type & search, then you can use Pop-up LOV item.

    Hari
