Tactic3d issues on MacOSX

Tactic3d Alpha & Sigma don't have a proper working mic.
Even after a firmware upgrade to Beta 2Jan firmware it still bad.
If you are booting your mac in 64Bit enviroment note that THX Kext dowsn't have 64bit code.
So forget any THX advantages on 64bit systems.
(/System/Library/Extensions/THXTruStudioPCUSBAudioPlugin.kext/Contents/MacOS/THXTruStudioPCUSBAudioPlugin: Mach-O object i386)
Tactic3D hardware depends on AppleUSBAudio.kext. So:
- You won't be able to fix it coding. Creative put some code on this kext and since then is no longer open source.
- Latest OpenSource version of this kext is 32bit and it hasn't got required dependencies for THX's kexts.
Not that any CMedia USB chipset will not work properly since AppleUSBAudio.kext is Closed sources.
(Mic has a robotic sound each hour for 0 min) (that's because I bought this two apple certified headsets.. but both two down't work also)
So if I'm not wrong, All the hardware stuff is in AppleUSBAudio (and was working as is before become closed source).
THX kext it's just an "advanced?" EQ. Before sending audio to Apple kext.
Questions:
There is any USB headset working properly (Output and mic input) on Snow Leopard?
Will creative code their kext to work in 64bit?
Will creative fix their Mic problem on Tactic3d headsets?
Is creative responsible from robotic AppleUSBAudio bug for any other USB-Audio chips?

I'm working on 2..0b AppleUSBAudio.kext (the last open source version if I'm right) It seems to be working properly on my system 0.6.6 (only 32bit mode) with any 2,50$ USB to jack adaptor with CM08 chipsets.
Today, my two expensi've Creative headsets are much like a pair of chinese crap with big magnets.

In Project CJ20 N , You can edit and save the long text at Project Defenation , WBS and Activity and Networ level..
Even For Material components also Long Texxt will displya and can edit and it will update..
i think no problem in Long text saving.. in Project system.

[IDCS4] Space bar shortcut for hand doesn't work

I am experiencing following problem:
I have written a startup script that shows a floating panel (it is a window that uses 'palette' as a type description). I also added menu item and listeners to show/hide it (in menu window). Inside the panel there is a flex application that communicates with InDesign via ExternalInterface (no PatchPanel). Whenever I start InDesign with this script as startup script suddenly spacebar stops working as a shrotcut that temporarily changes used tool to Hand Tool. Even closing InDesign and removing startup script and restarting InDesgin doesn't help, I need to logout and login again to make spacebar work. I am experiencing this issue on MacOSX 10.4 on Intel Mac, InDesign 6.0.5 and script is written in ExtendScript.
I also found that running the startup script from scripts panel seems to solve the problem, but this is rather undesired, since the panel should be available from InDesign startup...
Has anybody of you experienced the same behaviour? Maybe there is some sort of programatic fix? It drives me mad, because I am used to spacebar as a temporary hand. Of course if there is no other fix, I'll need to find some sort of hack that performs initialization after startup, but this is rather undesired

After some investigation I can tell that aforementioned bahaviour is most probably caused by opening the INDD file by using AIR API (file.openWithDefaultApplication()). When file is opened by user this behaviour is not observed, but when INDD is opened from AIR application, it results with disabling spacebar shortcut. What is even more strange, the shortcut is disabled not only in InDesign, but also in Illustrator. Photoshop works fine...

OS X Screen Sharing doesn't work after Mavericks Upgrade

I have upgraded my 3x machines to Mavericks and Screen Sharing no longer works. I have tried this with and without firewalls on. File Sharing works but Screen Sharing will say connecting for a LONG time and then say that it's not enabled and to go turn it on...
help?

I have seen a couple people talk about this as well, but wasn't the same thing..

I believe this is the easiest way to resolve any screensharing issues in MacOSX: Solution: Reset the computer list in Screen Sharing. To acomplish that install OnyX. By the way a great tool for your Mac maintenance.
Go to Cleaning>Misc. and
check My Computers list in Screen Sharing.
Press Execute and wait until it finish.
Restart your computer.

RICH INTERFACE

Does anyone know why the "rich interface" fo viewing e-mail doesn't work on mac? It works on my PC, but it doesn't recognize it on my MAC, even when I go to Safari>>Preferences>>Develop>>and selesct IE 7.0.

There's 2 known issues concerning MacOSX and vz webmail that I am aware of:
1. The Safari web browser on Apple computers is unable to access the Rich Text Formatting option when composing, replying to or forwarding messages. (Other browsers, such as Firefox, do work)
2. If you're using Safari on MacOSX 10.3.9 or earlier, the content of e-mails is not displayed. Upon hitting reply, the message is populated as a reply quote in the new e-mail.
What specifically is happening with yours? (Screenshots would be clutch)
Are your security settings prohibiting external scripts to be ran on websites?

How long to encode audio

I am new to mac, this is my 3rd attempt to burn my first movie. Have read the articles about waiting overnight and are doing this as a disk image... but it has been encoding audio for more than 18 hours and the length of time since starting the process is over 24 hours. Is this normal or do I have an issue?

That seems BAD... The longest I've had to wait is 30 minuts; but it varies by project type. My just completed slideshow project encoded audio many times at certain stages of the rendering/encoding process.
I've seen some people have to wait many hours to get through audio encoding. Don't know what to tell you beyond that.

Wifi sync will not work since 5.0.1 update

since i did the IOS 5.0.1 update, itunes now will not wifi sync on my mac.
I've restored, ive reinstalled the IPSW manually...ive ticked and unticked sync in the options, ive deleted the backup file and set up as a new phone...
ive ran out of ideas...
PS, this seem to only be an issue with macOSx as wifi sync works on a PC with this restore...
Theres no new software installed and seems to be a mac vs iphone issue as my other half also has the same issue now with the mac.
Any ideas or is it a trip to the apple geeks?

Same problem here with iPhone 4 and iPad 2.
Apple have just released iTunes 10.5.1 which I hoped was a fix but no.
Wired sync still works fine on both devices.
Ran iTunes diagnostics and the sync test caused iTunes to crash on several with both devices so there obviously seems to be a problem with the software.

SSH in LAN

I have an issue with MacOSX and ssh. Here is my setup:
Server: MacOSX 10.4.11
Client: MacOSX 10.6.4
When trying to connect to server I get a connection closed if I'm inside the LAN. However, from outside, I get to connect to my server (using port forwarding).
If I try to connect with the IP address, I get "Connection closed by IP address" (IPv4)
However, if I try to connect with hostname, I get "Connection closed by IP address" (IPv6 address)
Any ideas why I can connect from outside and not the LAN
I have tried disabling firewalls on both sides, this didn't help.
Note: I have changed the default port in /etc/services, I doubt this changes anything

Ok, thanks for the help. I had tried, but hadn't had all the output. However, some other interesting came up.
If, while connecting, I change my location in the network settings, the renewal of my IP allows me to connect to the machine.
So it comes from the client. Moreover, I have been able to connect with another mac.

Acrobat Pro 9.3.1 MacOSX & XP Not the Same, Having YouTube Embedd Issues

Hello Everyone,
I am currently working on a project that requires cross platform MacOSX and PC XP users to see included Video From the Web from sources such as YouTube and Audio Sites embedded into a PDF.
The content needs to appear the same in both platforms. The content must be a refference file to play within the PDF, video can not be copied and converted to another format and be re-embedded. The content must remain in the format housed on it's local server. *
Using a technique I found on several Acrobat forums you can create an HTML page with the Embed Tags from YouTube then use Windows XP and Acrobat Pro 9.3.1 to convert it to a PDF. (I have VMware with XP and a Trial Of Acrobat Pro 9.3.1)
On the PC you can then open the PDF and see the video play, so on the PC all is good. You can even copy and paste the video between other PC based PDF documents but none of the content is visible or playable within the MacOSX environments (10.5.8 or 10.6.2 with Acrobat 9.3.1 Pro). All You Get is blank page, the content is there if you move your mouse around it will change to an arrow and you can select it but it never connects to load the content. Sometimes it shows it is buffering to download but nothing happens. There is a Security menu that loads asking if you want to allow the connection and I say yes but it does nothing.
Does anyone know how to resolve this issue?
A person in one of the forums sent me a file Hulu Video Embedded into a PDF created on an Windows XP service pack 3 system with a trial of Acrobat pro 9.3.1., the file was a acrobat v.1.7 version accorinding to the properties manager and the unique this was it played fine on the Mac. Now when I try and duplicate this it fails to work, I have no idea why now. Any ideas?
I am currently designing a project in Indesign and need to place the Multimedia content within the design for Online Distribution.
Note that in Acrobat Pro 9.3.1 the Multimedia components do not allow for embedding the content in a Flash Element or Video Element on the PDF. It will refuse to recognize that format. I have copied the YouTube Embed Tags in the video and flash multimedia componetns with ZERO success, it always states that it is an unknown format. Placing Audio into the PDF works fine though. The only issue is that player looks strange till you select it the first time. (would like to resolve that as well)
Any assistance would be appreciated.
Note: PC Xp Software fully updated to latest builds, Acrobat 9.3.1 on Both MacOSX and XP Systems, Both MacOSX & XP have latest versions of Flash Player.

The next file I made on my Windows Xp Vmware with a trial of Acrobat Pro 9.3.1 - When I load it on the PC it works fine, but in the Mac it just states its buffering. The video is in pdf on the upper left corner under the text.

Solution: install all fonts
When the user installs Acrobat, they must use the Custom installation option and select
View Adobe PDF
     Asian Language Support
         Japanese Language Support
         Traditional Chinese Language Support
         Simplified Chinese Language Support
Create Adobe PDF
    Asian Language Support

Issue iPhone 3G iOS4.0.2 with iTunes 9.2.1 in MacBook Pro 15" MacOSX 10.6.4

I have an issue to restore my iPhone 3G, iOS 4.0.2 in my MacBook Pro 15" (December 2009) with MacOSX 10.6.4.
The "Apple" hangs at tre quarter of the process and hold here.
What's happen?
I resolved the problem with a restore by Windows XP, iTunes 9.2.1.
I don't believe in it!

Tactic3D Rage issues

Hello everyone, and thank you for viewing this thread.
I'm currently having some issues with my Wireless Tactic3D Rage Headset. I went to turn them off like I always have for the past year, and last night they decided to just start making a humming noise. The humming noise, I thought meant that they lost connection with the fob in the back of the computer. However after opening the control panel, I noticed that it read the battery levels just fine. I just can't seem to get it to cycle the power.
I've owned the headset since Dec 2012, and the only real issue I've had is the cheap plastic retainers that hold the earpieces to the head band broke. A little duct tape and they still worked fine. So, I tried to update the software last night after they wouldn't turn off, and that didn't work either. I usually charge them off the PC, or AC to USB adapter. Been charging them like that since day one without issue.
So any insight would be helpful, as I have a raid I have to attend tonight.

Just an update, I got the headset to discharge, so I'll test them when I get home tonite.
Update 2: Ok, so I had them charging all day on my computer, and now they work good again! So sorry for any trouble, but I also hope this helps someone in the future. Now where did I put that duct tape...
The steps I took were:
1. Leave them on until they died (discharged)
2. Connect them to my PC to charge in the OFF position
3. Disconnect them before turning them ON.
4. Turn them on.

Yes,I wrote to support before I created this thread,but I felt (and I'm still feel) really bad,especially I'm a software developer and I can't imagine how it's possible to give soft/firmware to end users which doesn't work properly. Or even if you do that and many ppl complain about exactly the same problem,the serious company should remove soft/firmware that can make really issues and they should work on fixing that bug and upgrading application for users to avoid future problems

I don't know if I am the only one who is having this issue, but the headphones works fine on PS3 EXCEPT some games like God of War, Evil Within, Journey, Wolfstein, Sniper Elite 3 , what the hell !!! these games support Dolby Digital 5.1 but there is no sound on my headphones
Does anyone here know the solution for this, I am aware that this headphones doesn't support DTS which I wasn't aware about when I first bought the headphones , or AC3 audio format when I play videos on my PS3 , But hey DTS does work on PC which I can't find explanation for this

Check out this article on Creative's support site. Maybe you can try to select Linear PCM 2 Ch. 44.1 kHz and Linear PCM 2 Ch. 48 kHz output for audio as stated in the article.

Focus issues with Qt on MacOSX

I'm developing a plugin which targets CS3, 4, 5 and 6. I choose Qt because of the deprecation of ADM. This plugin works well on Windows for each version of Illustrator. Now I"m testing it on MacOS X, I have some focus issues with all version of Illustrator.
For CS3, 4 and 5 I use the Carbon version of Qt and for CS6 I use the Cocoa version.
My main problem is when a widget (Qt GUI element) has the focus and if I press the backspace of the keyboard to replace the current value, the current selected object in the document is deleted.
Moreover if I try to change the location of an object using the Controls tool bar of Illustrator, the value of the widget changes.
Did anyone encounter this kind of problems and solve them ?

Note that "AI Servo" focus has difference from "One Shot" focus mode with respect to what it does when you press the shutter button.
In "One Shot" mode, the camera uses "Focus Priority". This means the camera will NOT take a shot if the lens is in auto-focus mode UNTIL it can confirm that it was able to achieve focus on your selected AF point (or on one AF point if you allow it to auto-select the AF point.) In short: achieving focus is more important than taking the shot at the exact moment you press the button. Hence "focus priority"
In "AI Servo" mode, the camera uses "Release Priority". This means that when you completely press the shutter button, the camera WILL take the shot immediately and it will do this whether it has had enough time to achieve focus... or not. In short: capturing the shot at the exact moment you press the shutter button is more important than achieving focus. Hence "release priority."
If you quickly press the shutter button to get a shot, the camera is going to shoot first and worry about focus later. You've got to half-press the shutter to let the camera achieve focus before you fully-press the button.

in the system profiler, my mail app is showing as v4.5 but has the application name Mail 3.6
Not sure if that matters but I read to reinstall updcombo and security update but when installing the security update I get:
security update 2012-004 can't be installed on this disk. This volume does not meet the requirements

Maya and MacOSX issues

Hi guys, I´m Maya user and since the 2011 version was released it never worked as should. There are been a lot of discussions and a lot of suggestions too, but it never worked for me, Maya continued having that annoying lack of speed and every time I had to do even the simplest operation I had to wait 5-10 seconds. Of course I also read about users to whom Maya worked good. Anyway lately I had the student license from Autodesk (it will last for 3 years and is completely free, but you have to prove to be student)and I could install Maya with service pack 1. I soon noticed a huge improvement, the only problem is that I´m still in 10.6.2 (this is the suggested one from Autodesk). So I would like to ask if someone has Maya with SP1 working good in 10.6.5.

From what ive read, upgrading to 10.6.4 is the way to go. I unfortunitely upgraded to 10.6.5 and im completely screwed. I too have the 5-10 second beach ball when performing the most simple tasks in maya 2011. All Apple support people can recommend is to call Autodesk or reformat my machine. Nobody has mentioned a thing about an update patch to fix this ui bug. It is a major problem anybody seems to be able to do anything about it. If you upgrade, DO NT go all the way to 10.6.5, trying hitting 10.6.4 first and post a reply to this thread if you have positive results. I am so frustrated with my mac at the moment. I though Mac was supposed to be the ultimate no brainer when it came to software / hardware configurations. Im starting to wish i stayed with PCs. I never had a problem like this i couldn't find an eventual solution to.
